I think the strongest ash shipping was pokeshipping. Because like you said, unlike Armourshipping, it showed Ash and Misty had the same feelings for eachother they just never admitted it to eachother, eventhough Serena kissed Ash it seemed like Ash didnt return those same feelings even throughout the anime Ash was completely clueless to Serena's feelings for him, and there was no actual evidence that Ash liked Serena back.
I'm definitely all for Morpheusshipping and Pokeshipping. I wish Pearlshipping was the one since I like Dawn the best, but Ash and Dawn's relationship developed into a sibling relationship

That's not the case now, since Amour is now the most popular ship it has its fair section of rabid fans. It is no surprise that the most popular shipping has the 'worst fanbase', once that title belonged to pokeshipping.

I'd recommend you watch XYZ-28 (XY121), it's the episode where Serena gets into the one and only argument with Ash and in process helps him find the lost motivation to achieve perfection in Ash-Greninja form. Ash-Greninja is widely accepted as the strongest pokemon Ash has ever had. Even Ash thanked Serena at the end of this episode for her help. Also, you like it or not and I respect your opinion but a blatant kiss makes Amour closer to being canon than Pokeshipping. There is a reason why many popular youtubers like MandJTV, Luminouse Trainer Zac, PRB12 and others have placed Amour at #1 in their pokemon shipping listing. It's not just 2 random characters kissing each other, it involved 2 main characters who had a childhood back-story (even if it was incredibly brief and only Serena remembered it). While comparing Ash's side of hints towards Misty and Serena you should consider Ash's polar opposite personalities while he was on his journey with these girls. Ash at least knows Serena likes him romantically, with Misty he does not. Do not ignore the 1-2 second shine observed in Ash's eyes after the kiss. In pokemon anime shiny eyes have defined many iconic moments in the past. Blush, signs of jealousy were shown to other girls as well when Ash was immature in Indigo/Orange Islands and Unova. A more visible blush was shown by Ash towards Giselle (School of hard knocks) and jealousy was depicted once in Unova when Ash was ignored by this recurring character called 'Bianca' The level of support he showed for Serena is clearly missing with Misty. He postponed his last gym battle completely on his own so that Serena could prepare and take part in Master Class. Misty has ignored Ash for other guys like Rudy and Danny in orange islands when they seemed to show interest in her. Serena never did it even when guys like Tierno and James hit on her. Poffleshipping at #3 was a complete surprise, I watched 80% of the episodes of XY/XYZ. Miette has absolutely 0 interest in Ash, she only does it to tease Serena and get on her nerves because she simply enjoys it. Other main 'Ash' ships like Pearl and Advance were more deserving to be placed ahead in my opinion.
