In an age where properties seem to be leaning into the “contemporary luxury” (aka expensive) category, I appreciate how Caesars has kept these properties clean, updated, and at an accessible price point. My friend and I stayed at Flamingo in 2019 and had a blast. It’s nice there are still some “no frills” options on the strip that appeal to a wide audience.
You two have done infinitely good work on every episode for the past few years and 2023 looks to be a continuation of the same. Thank you for being a bright, informative, and fun spot in life.
It's been a long time since I've stayed on that side of the strip, Barbary Coast ( When "Big Elvis") did his act there, and what a great guy he is. Flamingo was another place, love the gardens. Treasure Island was another place. I mostly stay at South Point, The Orleans, sometimes Sam's Town, The M resort, Red Rock, Sometimes Excalibur , Luxor or Mandalay, Bellagio , Wynn and Venetian sometimes, and Downtown I stay at Main Street Station and Plaza. I try to avoid staying in Other resorts by MGM or Caesars, Their service, their fees and Parking fees are a deal breaker, not that I don't afford them, its just that I don't like their snotty attitude. Thanks a lot, great Video!!!
Beginning at the end of 2010, I started coming to Las Vegas to visit every few months. Each year, I started coming more frequently, until I eventually purchased a vacation house in Vegas in 2014. This videos reminds me of how much this area has changed since I began spending time in Vegas regularly. I was at The Cromwell on opening day. Imperial Palace became The Linq. The Linq Promenade opened. I visited the White Castle at Casino Royale just a few days after it opened, and that was the first time I had ever had White Castle in my life. While this isn't even close to being my favorite part of the Strip, I have a lot of fond memories in this area, including listening to the Dueling Pianos at Harrah's and at the pool at Flamingo.
Another great blog. Imperial Palace to the Quad to the Linq. I was scheduled to stay at the Quad right at the time of change over to Linq. They wanted the guests to check out of the Quad then check back in to the Linq. I asked while trying to book the room, “So you expect around 1500 - 2000 guests to checkout and check back in smoothly?” I choose to stay at NY/NY for only a couple of dollars more and no hassle.
Thank you guys for doing this for us. I just think the world of you. And Dale I wish you still had a little singing gig. You have a smooth voice still. I would drive over from Yucca Valley to hear you and to meet precious Paula❤
I've never been to the Cromwell but I've been to the Barbary Coast. Ditto for the Linq and Imperial Palace. I remember the good ole days walking up and down the Strip stopping for a cold one in one of those places. Great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and a lot of fun to play at. Thanks for the tour and kudos to you for your efforts in this production. You covered a lot of territory and are to be commended for your dedication to this video. Looking forward to the next one.
I love Casino Royal!!! One of my favorite places to gamble. I really miss Barbary Coast 😢 We would always go there to see big Elvis, he has such a great voice.
My wife and I did a date night in October with Margaritaville and the High Roller. Definitely a good “neighborhood” if you’re looking for a cheaper time in Vegas. I also did catch the Walk of Fame too. Kind of a shame it wasn’t as big as it was, but still a nice tribute.
nice show folks thanks.........back in the 80's stayed at the Flamingo many times ..spent many a night playing the slots.....the sound of those real silver dollars clinking down into the hopper was a strong incentive to continue playing. One night when the winnings really piled up an old cleaning lady approached me and suggested I quit while ahead. Of course I didn't so the results were a complete wipe-out!!
The best as usual. I realize when I look at your videos that I really knew nothing about the other hotels when I lived there. You make me want to come to Casino Royale. Old style. Your friendly showgirl. (My sadness and condolences to the Presley family, too.)
Oh my goodness…this was so fun and brought back memories of my first trip to Las Vegas and seeing that riverboat to when I lived there in 2003 and I was a nanny for a mom that worked behind the Flamingo at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club. They were building the monorail so to get to her office I had to walk through the flamingo gardens and pool every day! And I’ve seen Donny and Marie when they were at The Flamingo! One of the best shows I’ve ever seen! Thanks for all the hard work you did in this! That is a lot of ground to cover!! Love you guys!
Affordable accomodations. I had the opportunity to see Donny's show, soft opening at Harrah's. I was really impressed; great music, vocals, stories, and that guy can dance!
What a fantastic informative tour of my favourite part of the Strip! I didn’t want the video to end. It brought back such fun memories. My first stay in Vegas was at Barbary Coast. It had so much character. Next stay was Imperial Palace. Always liked staying at Harrahs and Flamingo. Thanks for showing us Ramsay’s Kitchen. Looking forward to trying that on my next visit. Thank you so much for another ‘pure perfection ‘ vlog. The effort you put into your vlogs is very obvious in the quality of each of your videos.
Hi Paula and Dale! It was nice to see some more affordable places to stay and play! I always appreciate your efforts to inform us! Thank you for sharing! Big hugs!
Found this video and it's JUST PERFECT for our next trip. We flying into Las Vegas on April 28th and staying at the HGV (timeshare) behind The Flamingo. Never stayed at this part of the Strip, so your tour of this section was right on the money!!! Thank you. The other sections (Luxor, PH, Wynn) will be an Uber ride away. I'm sure we'll walk as far South as Miracle Mile Shops and as far North as The Venetian.
As usual I really enjoyed this video and thank you for sharing. We stayed at The Flamingo back in the 80s, my husband won $100 on a slot while I was checking us in, back then that paid for our stay and we were excited!
When I lived in AZ for 10 years I would love to go to Vegas for a lot of reasons of course, but White Castle was always a bonus! Now that I’m back in the suburbs of Cincinnati I can get it whenever I want!
DEAR DALE & PAULA, HAPPY NEW YEAR. 🎅 GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIENDS. I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU AND VERY HAPPY FOR YOU. I HOPE ALL OF YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE. I HOPE YOU HAD THE BEST AND HAPPIEST CHRISTMAS OF YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE MR. ESPARZA AND ALL OF MY BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN A MIRACLE AND A MIRACLE AND A MIRACLE AND A MIRACLE AND A MIRACLE AND FAR BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS. I FEEL LIKE CRYING AND CRYING WITH COMPLETE GRATITUDE AND HAPPINESS. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LAS VEGAS. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY CRY TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS, BLESSINGS AND LIFE TODAY OR IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS! WOW! WOW! WOW! I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL AND THANKFUL. 🎅🎁🌲🙏🎅🎅🙏🎁🌲🎅🌲🎁🌲🎅🎁 SINCERELY PETER
We like this area, compact (can see why it was a lot of work, weaving in and out, much appreciated), and lots of good choices, usually end up in Denny's for the 4pm sirloin steak special or the delicious skillets at some point. Nice to see the Flamingo gardens, I paused the TV enabling me to read the tribute to Bugsy. Looking forward to the Year of the Water Rabbit...I bet my last dollar, its the Bellagio conservatory. Happy Chinese New Year.
It makes my Sunday to hear that nice little riff to open your vlogs. We are staying at the Horseshoe soon! I love that part of the strip. The Cromwell is nice, but dang, we have never won anything in there. But, of course, I don't play table games very often. Wow! I have never been in Drais. I do love the Flamingo. Such great history. The Flamingo always has a very vibrant casino floor. Tina and I really enjoyed our stay at the Linq. We had some very special guests visit us while we were there. We were thoroughly impressed with the Linq. We enjoy playing slots at Harrah's. Tina and I always go into Casino Royale...you just never know what you are going to see!! Wow $167 for a Sunday night...crazy. I love White Castle, the ones in Ohio. Thanks for the tour!!! Awesome video!
Good morning..What an interesting video.. .and great memories of the Barbery Coast, Imperial Palace and Holiday Inn Steamboat...Thanks for braving the rainy weather to do this....☕️🍩🎰🎲
Great video, I have a soft spot for The Flamingo, I don’t know if it’s my imagination but I swear the marquee doesn’t seem as bright at nighttime since the strip went LED with bulbs, the old school light bulbs made it all seem brighter. Imperial Palace in the 90s had the worst buffet ever, I paid, walked in, looked and walked out, I didn’t even bother asking for a refund. The Travelodge used to be beside the Casino Royale, scariest hotel I’ve ever stayed in 😅 the receptionist was so lovely she felt sorry for me and just handed me a cash refund on the spot no questions asked, good times 😂
Awesome video!! So extremely helpful!! Budget friendly rooms, places to eat, entertainment venues even gardens to walk in and "what's across the street location" you really covered it all and it's SO helpful! I love the wow factor of the big resorts but I also love the charm and nooks&cranny style of exploring this section too. My first visit was about 96 and this section especially that Casino Royale facade (which I LOVE) feels super nostalgic to me. It was likely there back then as brand new. Fantastic video well done to you both!
Wow, a LOT of work to be sure kids, but VERY well done with plenty of history notes along the way! Yes indeed, this Chicago Boy knows that 'White Castle/Slider' AROMA from WAY back in the early 1950s! I am always amazed at the stats, time lines and updates you include on your property tours; I learn a lot! A little late, but if I didn't offer Kudos to your Christmas Special, twas' absolutely smashing! Hope your New Year is off to a rousing good start; Best Wishes always!
I always enjoyed going into Barbary Coast / Bill's Gambling Hall. Memories of the wide-open corner entrance where you went down two steps, the low ceiling, the decor, and the quaint and cozy atmosphere. I even saw Big Elvis perform there. ( EDIT: I thought he was known as Fat Elvis in the 80's. Am I wrong? ) If I ever have the opportunity to return to Las Vegas again, I will no doubt check out its latest incarnation as The Cromwell.
He is called Big Elvis. Please don't refer to him as fat Elvis. In fact he has lost quite a bit of weight. And he is a fabulous singer and a really nice guy.
Loved this ..our folks stayed at Harrah's when they came in and loved it. Budget friendly but still right up their alley. You no joey and I venetian/palazzo all the way tho 😛😛
Remember the cheap food in Vegas? I would get my coupon book for my free hot dog at Westward Ho, back in the day. I stayed at Flamingo for 20 years, then moved downtown. Less walking & looser slots😆🍀. It’s nice seeing the old pics of Barbary Coast👍.
Flamingo was the first casino i stayed at in las Vegas but it got to crazy with drunken college kids. the linq and carnival court are fun places. Always did well gambling at Harrah's. Casino royale is great i never lost in there, i remember the shirt shop in front always bought nice shirts for souvenir gifts. I think the shirt shop moved to binion's. Thanks for sharing Cheers🥂🥂
Great video! Memories! I remember the Barbary Coast and the Imperial Palace from years ago. I miss the river boat! My daughter and her husband often stayed at the Flamingo because it had a great pool. I don't much care for the big Strip casinos, but these look like they might be worth checking out, especially the Casino Royale as it does look like it has that old Vegas vibe. I know your run throughs were quick as you were trying to squeeze in 6 properties (yikes), but did you notice if any of these properties had many Keno machines? All the best from snowy Colorado.

Some of my favorites!! Carrying my little Flamingo purse today. Got it in the gift shop a year ago yesterday. Thanks for the hard work!
I love the 🦩 it’s old school but elegant and great location

Yet another great video. I really like those green screen backgrounds!
Whoo hoo, $3.00 domestic beer at White Castle, Casino Royal!

Once again, thanks for a great tour of Las Vegas. Good luck 2023, Mike

Really good vlog this week! A different angle that most others don't take. Surprised that Casino Royale is so costly! Didn't see that one coming!
happy new year dale and paula and thank you for the tour

I stayed at that Holiday Inn (for a week) in 1974. I took a Greyhound from Detroit to see the Osmonds at the Tropicana Hotel! 😂

Hi from the UK 🇬🇧xxx
Flamingo is my go to
Flamingo was the first casino i stayed at in las Vegas but it got to crazy with drunken college kids. the linq and carnival court are fun places. Always did well gambling at Harrah's. Casino royale is great i never lost in there, i remember the shirt shop in front always bought nice shirts for souvenir gifts.

We’ll be in town July 23-26 for my 40th
Would love to see yall😊
Good Morning Dale & Paula 😊
Really great job with the video!!
My wife and I were in that Harrah's keno lounge last weekend. We love that lounge, I won $300 on a $5 bet LOL
Nice job. Appreciate it!
Another great video! You guys will need to do a a review on the new Gordon Ramsey inside Harrahs.
I need a picture of the Bugsy monument. I named my Siamese cat Bugsy, so I yell that name daily 🤣.
Another thumbs-up!!

I'll be honest with you, don't remember that sports book from that long ago, and even so we don't pay a lot of attention to sports books in general. Tell you what though, the one at The Linq is really nice - check that out, it's jsut next door!

My question about lower price casinos is “is it quiet in the rooms when I want to sleep?” Lower price casinos are often not as well insulated for noise
Nothing ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones can't fix !
I stayed in a habitat view remodeled room at Flamingo (which is widely regarded as a loud party hotel) and didn’t hear a thing at night. I suggest looking at trip advisor reviews to see if noise is a common complaint across room types at a given property.
Can you please do a review on Gordon Ramsay Burger please
With a resort fee at the cromwell will it probably not to "Budget friendly"
I say avoid that area at all costs. Walk across the street. You will feel and be safer.
For whatever reason I was not getting your videos never thought anything about it until I saw this one awesome video awesome editing thank you very much hope to see you guys again soon I will be in Vegas for the Super Bowl staying at the Luxor hope to see you there
