- Today's Las Vegas Inside & Out adventure takes us to The Orleans Hotel & Casino, where it's Mardi Gras every day! We walk the entire property - the casino, the restaurants and bars, entertainment venues, and more. And then, because it's that time of year, we head up a few blocks to the corner of Flamingo and Decatur, and sit down to a plate of fabulous buttermilk pancakes at Blueberry Hill Restaurant. It's a Mardi Gras celebration, so come join us!

Continually impressed with the level of writing and narration on your videos - classic PR verbiage of the highest order, that can make a Super8 motel seem like the Waldorf Astoria. That is talent personified. Would be fun to see similar vids for less than stellar locales (i.e. Casino Royale, Slots O' Fun) if only to see you work your finely tuned magic on them.

Another great video! As Dale mentioned, some of those casino chips may now be worth more than face value due to the collectible value. Matchbooks are definitely a disappearing piece of Americana. With smoking in a general decline for decades, combined with smoking being banned in most indoor locations, very few businesses give them away anymore.
Loved the video. After a four night stay at the Bellagio and the absurdity of the prices, I am looking for an off strip property for my next trip. All those video poker bars are right up my alley! Paula, I swear your eyes glazed over when you saw those pancakes. Plus those prices, wow!!
You are the most charming and down to earth couple ever!! You’re also very detailed in showing every little thing about The Orleans. . I would’ve never thought to stay there until now. Thank you for showing menus and prices, also.
The last time I was at the Orleans was about 15 years ago and after watching your informative video I think I’ll check it out when I’m back in Vegas in May. Your videos are part of my Sunday morning routine. The narrative is always so interesting. Have you ever done a live Q&A ? You both know so much Vegas trivia it would be fascinating to hear your Vegas stories.
Love this place. Free parking is a great perk. One of the biggest tragedies in Vegas history has to be when Boyd imploded the Stardust.
Hello thank you for the in-depth of the casinos that I enjoy. I love Sam's boyd properties.June 2022 the Fremont casino told me there wasn't a bus shuttle from downtown to Sam's town since Covid-19 I have stayed at the California, Main street in the past and always taken the shuttle bus this November reservation for Gold Coast! Hope shuttle will be running to visit The Orleans
We hope so too - slowly but surely all the things that had been lost during the pandemic shutdowns are coming back, because the crowds are here all the time now! We too really like the Boyd properties.
Love the Orleans! We stayed there the first Thanksgiving they were open. We had family that lived at Spanish Trails so it was close. Our kids grew up with the hotel, family bowling tournaments, high school graduations, family feasts at the buffet, etc. Thank you for giving the WOS places some love.
the Orleans although a bit dated is actually a great off-strip property. A group of friends and I stay there every summer, and it's such a cool laid back hotel. I wish they would give the rooms and the Casino a little TLC and update it however because the rooms are not cheap. We love Bartenders Nancy and Jason that we see every summer manning the pool bar. They are both incredibly fun to hang out with. Great video!

I love the Blueberry diner especially that location Decatur and Flamingo. You also recommended a bakery off of Eastern and Saint Rose , Family owned I don’t remember the name. But I went there before Thanksgiving and got an apple pie. Great place. Thank you for your informative reviews . Stay well.
I’ve seen it on the others this week but love the ending, where it says Dale and Paula - great change! Another amazing Sunday vlog!! Thanks for taking us along, I actually thought this hotel closed a long time ago - not sure why! So this was great to see and something we will check out for sure!!!!

No, don't get sick of watching you two. Liked to go to the New Orleans Hotel and Casino. Saw Willie Nelson there. Also saw Crystal Gayle there too. Food wasn't bad. Ate at Blueberry Hill restaurants many times. One is open 24 hours. Always liked the food at Blueberry Hill restaurants. They also serve breakfast 24 hours a day. Flat Iron steaks are good. I cook them here at home. Don't like raw fish.

My parents did the same thing as you guys. Threw out a lot of gaming cups and items from casinos in Reno. Living in Oakland, Reno and Tahoe was a 3-4 hr. Drive. I think I still have an ashtray from the old MGM Grand. And, a program from their production of Hello Hollywood Hello. The good old days!

I always liked dropping in on The Orleans. They had a gourmet buffet as I recall with great seafood dishes. I have also taken in a movie in the movie theater and eaten at the food court. Was this place associated with Debbie Reynolds for a while? Why do I think that? Blueberry Hill can't say that I caught this place. I often went to an 'Egg and I' for breakfast in town. The pancakes look good though. It will go on the list.

Back in 2016, I went to see Don Rickles there and ate at the Chinese restaurant. It was okay, but not a place I would frequent on a trip. Still, it looked great when seeing it from your point of view.

Another great video. We love the Orleans since my hubby is from Louisiana. I believe the name of the buffet was called The French Quarter. The food was sooo good. Nice selection of food from Louisiana and more. Hope you feel better soon Dale.

I'm from new orleans and stayed at the orleans in 2020. My whole stay was pleasant and and the rooms are pretty big. I think the best part of the room was the window in the bathroom. I just like bathroom windows lol
Those pancakes look so delicious, I like eating pancakes with a glass of cold milk. The thumbnail is so funny with the masks and the "Necklaces" on it.

Back in the early 2000s I stayed at the Orleans several times. The price was reasonable and the room quite nice. I liked the location close to the strip and easy to get and around going in other directions as well. Interesting seeing it again.
Orleans is a sweet spot for me. My husband and I have stayed a few times in the past (stay onstrip or M Resort now). My very first handpay was at the Orleans on a 25 cents machine. Thanks for the highlight of it :) Wow, I've gotta try Blueberry Hill!

We walked there from the flamingo to rio then to the Orleans. Of course we were young back then. Its a nice local kinda of casino.

Love the plastic casino cups!! I have a collection of those all from the 1980's from most of the casinos on the strip. Remember how your hands would turn black from handling coins and the inside of the cups would turn black, also?! Pulling the levers on the slot machines was a great workout! Fun times and memories! Orleans looks amazing! Thanks for sharing your video!
Those were the days! My first "jackpot" was on a Red White and Blue Sevens machine at The Sands and my first "hand pay" at Circus Circus in the 1980's.

Love it! Great minds think alike. While you were showing Mon Ami Gabi in January, I visited that Blueberry Hill and had the same seat at the counter! (Crazy crowded) No pancakes, the veggie Benedict was amazing. Thanks much. The Orleans looks like fun. I well remember the coin buckets, still have some. In NJ they were very popular for holding toilet brushes.... thank you both. This was fun.

Wow, that was a great video to watch. Excellent cinematography, editing, and narration all around. The Orleans is a pretty cool place. I’ve only been there once for a lunch date at the Boofay with a local Vegas resident. Great memories of the place and it is definitely a place I would consider if I would be staying off Strip. That breakfast place looked pretty darn good, any bets that the maple syrup came from Canada? Lol. Thanks so very much for your efforts in this production. Looking forward to the GN.
Have many happy memories about the Orleans. Went there every year in February to the annual polka fest until the pandemic hit. Two nice dance halls on the upper floor. Great place to stay. Good selection of places to eat with very moderate prices. Must try Blueberry Hill on my next visit. Thanks for another great show!!!
