My Late Parents who Wed in 1963 and Tragically passed away together in 1995...."Moon River" was their song and "Breakfast At Tiffany's " their Movie. If they heard "Moon River" on the radio...and the radio would be on in the Kitchen from 6:30AM...until Bedtime! They would stop what they were doing whether it be cooking or the washing up and Dance to this song. How very romantic.💕🙏🙏

The year was 1962, I was a sophomore at Ohio State, and had taken a bus down to Lexington, Ky. to see a sweetheart Mary Nash, who was a freshman @EKU…we saw this memorable romantic movie in Lexington and caught up on 8 years that we missed each other’s smile…I last saw her in the Fall of 1999…her magical smile was still alive and will always be in my hearts memory…

In 1969, while working as a DJ in a small Illinois town, I remember I would play this tune pretty often, as it was still quite popular, even at that time, and our listeners never seemed to tire of hearing it being played; small wonder, it's such a beautiful song.

Thank you for sharing your sweet thoughts. It is truly an amazing song... music by Henry Mancini of Pittsburgh, PA; words by Johnny Mercer of Savanna, GA I think. Vocals maybe by the Ray Coniff Singers (guessing on that last part!).

Nunca me canso de de escucharla cuando la pongo porque ella me hace recordad mi juventud, haya por los años, 60-70. This song is a balm. It reminds of years gone by when I, a teenager then, would sit in the living room with my mum and brother to watch the Andy Williams show, of which Moon River was the theme song. Such simple, uncomplicated times they were when I look at our confusing and dark world now spinning out of control. How I long for those times, when a man was a man, and a woman a woman. And the news was credible. There was more truth than lies. But we are now cast away from our foundations.

I was born in 1982. I am a throwback to women like Audrey Hepburn and let me tell you it is very hard for me to fit in anywhere. I don't want to be angry but I feel angry because I am alone in my life and it's not right. I am very much like Audrey Hepburn-fragile, beautiful, elegant, charming. It's hard to be that way in the world which sadly has no values. I miss my grandmother's and the family I used to have. My life is not the sane anymore. There don't seem to be any answers anymore to happiness, not even in the church. People are not real, genuine, and honest anymore.

George Peppard is equally wonderful, has great chemistry on screen with Audrey. I'm actually a singer and I love singing the title song for people who appreciate it. I also love her in Charade with Cary Grant. It doesn't get any better than a beautiful score and elegant beauty on the big screen! Blessings, Kelly

Moon River is a real river in Savannah, Georgia, where Mercer (the lyrics composer) grew up. ... At the time, the river was known as The Back River, but was renamed Moon River in honor of the song, and Johnny Mercer's home along the river became known as the Moon River House. This is my favorite song. Years ago, we went to Savannah to visit some friends. We went out to dinner and when we came out of the restaurant, I saw the river and the sign “Moon River”. It brought tears to my eyes.

This is one of the most beautiful songs that you're ever going to hear outside of Classical Music, and this song makes older generations say "they don't make them like this anymore", and i can agree with and see why people who grew up back than would say that. These Classics and Old School songs up to the 70s were great songs, well written, deep, and had a lot of feeling to them. However, with songs that "have a lot of feeling to them" comes sadness, almost psychological torture, if you sit and listen to them too often. Listen to this song, and I was just listening to the theme song for Somewhere in Time, and think about the people who never get to meet someone, have never been lucky in love, and think about what they must be feeling when they hear these type of songs. Music was beautiful in the past, but thank God for more modern music from the 80s till now, and that they are more fast paced, and energetic, and can get your blood pumping, because this music is Beautiful, but with beauty can come heartbreak and depression. Sooner or later you have to put this music in a box and put it where it came from - the past. Only visit them once in a Blue Moon for the sake of your sanity.

I will never tire of this song. Hauntingly beautiful. A sadness comes over me, every time I hear it, but a good sadness. George Fields on his harmonica, gets me every time.

One of the most beautiful movies of all times. Moon river will always belong to my favorites and of course the divine actress Audrey Hepburn, so elegant and delicate!

" breakfast at Tiffaney's, " Audrey Hepburn, Truman Capote, George Peppard, Blake Edwards, the guy who wrote the screenplay, Henry Mancini. Thank you guys and lady for one of the greatest films ever made. You grabbed our hearts and twisted it in two. It makes you cry and smile at the same time. So ahead of its time. Audrey Hepburn's greatest triumph, because she was the most "human" she'd ever been. Cause it most closely reflected her own real life story.

I just adore this scene of Audrey Hepburn, I only wish I had met her. This beautiful woman, a giving humble soul, full of compassion for the children of the world.

George was quite the hunk as well. Hubba hubba. Beautiful cast & music. We grew up listening to Mancini & so many genres of the best music of all genres in the 60s & 70s.
