In the movie "The green book" there is a great line that says, "the world is full of lonely people waiting to make that first move"! Follow your heart.
Who can ever forget this haunting music! I saw the film way back in the '60s & the song has remained with me up to this day. It has becomes " everyone's dream & hope"!!
This romantic movie “ Breakfast at Tiffany’s “ was made over 60 years ago, but I think it’s amazing that Audrey Hepburn’s presence and impression are so fresh.
Oh, the genius of Henry Mancini! Hepburn's dress, necklace, hairstyle, sunglasses and the haunting harmonica all make for one amazingly unforgettable opening. Throw in Tiffany's, and voila! major screen magic never reproduced over the passing years.

@@harponercam Okay. I'll have to watch the opening again and listen carefully. I used to play the piano, and "Moon River" was one of the pieces I played for a recital. Still have the sheet music, but no piano.
Beautiful song, reminds of those years where life was still bright, joyful no dark moments like we are living now; every time I got out of these movies I felt life was so beautiful and romantic;
Oh how I wish I was young again when this beautiful song was popular. America was different, people were better, so much has fallen away. I don’t see a way out.
I can remember sitting in a large movie theatre when this came out. When she came on the screen her beauty and charm was breathtaking. I'm much older now but the wonderful music and her charm and beauty still captivate me as if it were yesterday. Magic 😃
Innosense never lost and grace in addition to her irresistable charm and beauty. As good as "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is in my opinion "Roman Holiday" is even better which was her breakout role co-starring with the incomparable Gregory Peck. One of a kind then, now and forever!
This song means so much to me. I still remember my mum asking me if I knew the words so I could sing it after my dads funeral but I didn’t get to know them until months later. I just wish she told me this was there song. I’m singing this song now to you both with tears running down my face. I love and miss you mum & dad with every single day that passes. May god look after you both ❤️❤️
And that is the spellbound world of the cinema that reaches into our hearts and souls, if only for a few moments, to remind us that love will triumph and overcome adversity ❤…
I was 8 years old when I first heard Henry Mancini's version of Moon River in November, 1961. Every time I listen to it I always think about the Susquehanna River in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
This song is a balm. It reminds of years gone by when I, a teenager then, would sit in the living room with my mum and brother to watch the Andy Williams show, of which Moon River was the theme song. Such simple, uncomplicated times they were when I look at our confusing and dark world now spinning out of control. How I long for those times, when a man was a man, and a woman a woman. And the news was credible. There was more truth than lies. But we are now cast away from our foundations.
I was born in 1982. I am a throwback to women like Audrey Hepburn and let me tell you it is very hard for me to fit in anywhere. I don't want to be angry but I feel angry because I am alone in my life and it's not right. I am very much like Audrey Hepburn-fragile, beautiful, elegant, charming. It's hard to be that way in the world which sadly has no values. I miss my grandmother's and the family I used to have. My life is not the sane anymore. There don't seem to be any answers anymore to happiness, not even in the church. People are not real, genuine, and honest anymore.
Stephen, thank you for your kind words. I am feeling much better. I've always worn my heart on my sleeve. It is such a wonderful, sensitive film, acting of the Golden Era. George Peppard is equally wonderful, has great chemistry on screen with Audrey. I'm actually a singer and I love singing the title song for people who appreciate it. I also love her in Charade with Cary Grant. It doesn't get any better than a beautiful score and elegant beauty on the big screen! Blessings, Kelly
Moon River is a real river in Savannah, Georgia, where Mercer (the lyrics composer) grew up. ... At the time, the river was known as The Back River, but was renamed Moon River in honor of the song, and Johnny Mercer's home along the river became known as the Moon River House. This is my favorite song. Years ago, we went to Savannah to visit some friends. We went out to dinner and when we came out of the restaurant, I saw the river and the sign “Moon River”. It brought tears to my eyes.
People say it's foolish to be in love with someone you've never met and who's passed away so long ago but I can't help falling in love every time I see her on the screen
I remember in primary school, I was 5 yrs old, and 2 little girls in my class went to the front of our class and sang this song. I was a solo drifter for years, but I am waiting for my partner in NY to join me on a world drift before it is too late in life. This song always brings tears to my eyes.
My mom loved both the leads in this movie. She played Moon River on the piano a lot. Yesterday was her birthday and the 10 year anniversary of her death from cancer. Yes she actually dies 84 years after she was born. Thank you for postimg. It bought baxk many great memores of Gloria.
Carl Eaves CEO - This tune ‘Moon River ‘ says everything about Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Its a girlie film totally enjoyable to watch over and over again especially now. What better time to indulge yourself with a ‘chic flix’. Sounds great to me.
I've loved Henry Mancini's music since a child. His music finds its way into your very soul. Moon River creates a longing in me that I remember having even as a child. Can't explain the emotions, of course, but this song does it for me...and made Breakfast at Tiffany's, Audrey Hepburn, and George Peppard.
When the star is really a star, someone that we are longing to see and miss. When Hollywood didn’t show so much skin, and the star like Audrey Hepburn is no longer exist today in Tinseltown. Miss you Audrey !

Four years ago my dear father left us and I know that he is better off where he went. He loved this song and I could listen to it for long periods of time. It is a song that makes me cry and remember him with great sadness.
Audrey Hepburn was to me like a fine delicate bird, a Snowy Egret, tall, lean and statuesque. So precise and gentle in her movements. The epitome of a 'Lady'.

This is one of the most beautiful songs that you're ever going to hear outside of Classical Music, and this song makes older generations say "they don't make them like this anymore", and i can agree with and see why people who grew up back than would say that. These Classics and Old School songs up to the 70s were great songs, well written, deep, and had a lot of feeling to them. However, with songs that "have a lot of feeling to them" comes sadness, almost psychological torture, if you sit and listen to them too often. Listen to this song, and I was just listening to the theme song for Somewhere in Time, and think about the people who never get to meet someone, have never been lucky in love, and think about what they must be feeling when they hear these type of songs. Music was beautiful in the past, but thank God for more modern music from the 80s till now, and that they are more fast paced, and energetic, and can get your blood pumping, because this music is Beautiful, but with beauty can come heartbreak and depression. Sooner or later you have to put this music in a box and put it where it came from - the past. Only visit them once in a Blue Moon for the sake of your sanity.
with "that sadness" you are talking about still i pray with all my heart so that i cross with the right person one day. If not still i will try to be positive in this life.
I'm a 60 year old dancer. I used to like high energy music, but now I prefer mellow music. I love Moon River, not this version so much, but I can play it over and over again because it's relaxing, beautiful, easy to sing to, and not too epic. But it does sound sentimental.
Crazy as it sounds I want this played at my funeral! Dont know why this song resonated so much for me. I grew up in the 50's and early 60's and this song when it did come out hit me like a ton of bricks for whatever the reason. Even when I served overseas in the US Army in the late 60's I was in love with Audrey Hepburn. Helped me get thru some dark times. And now, even to this day Im haunted by Mancini's music of Breakfast At Tiffany's. Idyllic for sure but what a composer he was leaving such a rich treasure of music for so many to still enjoy. Thank you Thank you Mr. Mancini and Ms Hepburn!
This song (movie) brings back nostalgic pleasant memories for me. My mom kept telling my dad she wanted to see this movie. There were six of us ( I was the oldest child at about age 9) so we always had to wait for movies to arrive at one of the local drive in theaters. Definitely not a kid movie but I remember enjoying it. Maybe because mom was really liking it. It was probably one of two movies shown that night but I dont remember the other one! Just memories of my childhood and family.
Audrey Hepburn gorgeous lovely class Swiss/French actress. She was my Mother & Me favorite classic actress, since my Mama had pass away already many years ago,I do continue watch old movies of Audrey❤️🇺🇸💜
I never get tired of this tune and its lyrical songs by other vocalist or the movie itself. 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' is timeless, classic & unforgettable.

One of the most beautiful movies of all times. Moon river will always belong to my favorites and of course the divine actress Audrey Hepburn, so elegant and delicate!
" breakfast at Tiffaney's, " Audrey Hepburn, Truman Capote, George Peppard, Blake Edwards, the guy who wrote the screenplay, Henry Mancini. Thank you guys and lady for one of the greatest films ever made. You grabbed our hearts and twisted it in two. It makes you cry and smile at the same time. So ahead of its time. Audrey Hepburn's greatest triumph, because she was the most "human" she'd ever been. Cause it most closely reflected her own real life story.
I just adore this scene of Audrey Hepburn, I only wish I had met her. This beautiful woman, a giving humble soul, full of compassion for the children of the world.

Every so often I'll stumble upon Audrey in her famous & iconic Breakfast at Tiffany's Poster, She stops me dead in my tracks, Ironically she passed in '93 & George Peppard in '94

I retired from my job today, and had to say good bye to a woman I worked there with - my best friend actually. I sent her a copy of this video & I shed many tears as i wrote my message to her. The song reminds me of her & I & our friendship perfectly. I truly love this woman!
Tell this special lady how much you love her.
I went through this myself I regret not telling her what I felt!!
This romantic movie “ Breakfast at Tiffany’s “ was made over 60 years ago, but I think it’s amazing that Audrey Hepburn’s presence and impression are so fresh.

Innosense never lost and grace in addition to her irresistable charm and beauty. As good as "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is in my opinion "Roman Holiday" is even better which was her breakout role co-starring with the incomparable Gregory Peck. One of a kind then, now and forever!

What an abjectly stupid comment.
You are so right. I am one of those who say it. Thanks.
with "that sadness" you are talking about still i pray with all my heart
so that i cross with the right person one day.

For some Crazy reason, I understand where you're coming from. A Beautiful Lady with Beautiful Music....
