I have realized that "guilt" after forgiveness is satan holding you in bondage, to separate you from God. I struggle with guilt, also...but I have to STAY IN GOD'S WORD, to put "on the Armor of God", so I am protected.

this. you should "feel" guilty because you did wrong, you know you did wrong, but never feel ashamed or worthless for it. I say this because people feel like they're worthless and God shouldn't save them. That's Satan in their head, reminding them they're sinners and that God won't save them no matter what they do. I struggle with that sometimes, and it makes me lack in Faith because I feel unworthy for God's kingdom even though I know He will be there for me in this battle.

Darlin'....I have been there too. Especially after my beloved late husband died at 52yrs old. I allowed FEAR, and grief, to control my decisions. Decisions I immensely regret. I can tell you that satan enjoys holding you in BONDAGE to your past or sin. And satan driven society NEVER lets you forget your past....BUT....receiving the forgiveness, knowing you ARE worthy, is key. Refuse to be held in bondage to your past or sins. STAY in the Word of God....everyday. When you get up, pray, ask God to reveal His truth to you, read your Bible.....and do that before bedtime. You have to remember, that God loves you, and He finds you worthy. YOU have to know you are worthy. Even Paul, murdered/slaughtered Christians before God touched him and changed his name from "Saul to Paul". Paul refused to allow satan to hold him in bondage, because even God found him worthy, after all his sins he committed. God wants you, all of us, with him. Allow God to guide you, not people or circumstance, as satan uses even family, to separate you from God. I had to cut ties with my younger sister & mother, as they allowed Satan to abuse or, use me, and belittle me. God tells us to "cut ties with those who willingly hurt you". It is in Peter and James. So, I live across country, away from that drama & hatefulness. It is your choice. Refuse, rebuke satan in your life. And never allow others into your home that bring toxic negativity or hate....that opens the door to satan. Stay in the Word! God bless you!

that's condemnation from the devil. you need to pray against it. Conviction from the Holy Spirit draws you to repent and ask for forgiveness and condemnation makes you think that you will not be forgiven and draws you further from God. Pray against that condemnation

But a literal fear based relationship(not fearing God as in respecting Him, but thinking He is out to get you and send you to hell every time you mess up) is not good. God loves us and doesn’t want us to love Him just so we don’t go to hell or just so we can go up when He returns.

I used to think of my past sins until He showed me that I asked for forgiveness and did not trust Him to forgive me. He took my to the scripture that says to leave it at the alter and don't pick it back up.
I have repented for all my sins and asked god for forgiveness.I’m a young teenager and I started going to church to become closer with god . I’ve been hearing stories of people asking for forgiveness and having conversations with Jesus and I’ve been feeling guilty that my lack of faith in god in the past has destroyed any connection and forgiveness between me and god. I’ve been praying every night before I go to sleep for the last 6 months about how bless I am to have him in my life even when I’m going through problems in life .

A LOT of our feelings of guilt and shame are born and developed out of our childhood. As children we don’t have the ability to reason very well, so we have to come up with an explanation for why we feel unloved. The most common explanation we come up with is “because I’m a bad person”, which is of course totally inaccurate. We don’t just shed these feelings when we get older, they actually continue to grow. My therapist had me journal anytime I had these feelings and then later go back and challenge/disprove our false self accusations. We have to continue to challenge these false core beliefs.

I've been haunted by my past sins, like alllll kinds of sins in the Bible. I live in fear and guilt now. That it's too late for me to be forgiven by God. Guilt guilt and guilt is all I'm living with now. Which is making me feel hopeless. It's stopping me from going to Church, reading the Bible. Reading the Bible even scares me more, because whenever I read the Bible, all I see is my sins in every way. Now I'm having this great regrets and remorse, for why I've been such a fool. We are in the same situation, it is also good news for you to feel guilty. Because that means the holy spirit dwells in you. But guilt can also be a temptation feeling, because it's in the scripture that says "God doesn't tempt anyone" so it obviously mean that it is possible that you are making yourself feel guilty or it's just the devil playing around with you. Because he knows that you are special to God. Relax, you will be forgiven if you ask forgiveness to God and believe in him. You only have weak faith in God. Which is forgiveable. And I also have blasphemous thoughts that randomly pops up. That is because it's from the devil. Keep fighting gain your faith. The devil plays with those who are weak in faith. Myself and many, if not all, other Christians have been there. The best thing you can do is put your trust in Him and make Him the priority even if your fear is screaming at you not to. He is greater than your fear, and His love is greater than your sin. ❤️
Sometimes the devil of the world tries to keep people stuck in guilt and away from our Lord. My sin was 40 years ago. I have then felt unworthy of my Saviour saving of me. Often felt I didn’t deserve forgiveness. I repented yet it’s there.
I used to feel guilty less often but since turning to Christ and church groups I have started to feel guilty more often. At church we bring it up sometimes and our group agreed that part of faith is to celebrate our guilt, because it keeps us clean and beneath Him. Guilt might be part of our Christian culture that we inherited. I would not be ashamed of guilt as it is part of being a good Christian, and those that are not guilty might not be forgiven and thus might not reach heaven. I myself often have guilty feelings of not enough faith in God but I use this guilt to ask for forgiveness so I can be saved. I don’t think we should try to overcome our guilt but recognise it as part of being a Christian, even if it is difficult to live with.

We are in the same situation, I'm only 11 yrs old and dealing with this. I grew up with Roman Catholic parents. Then I accepted Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and my saviour. That means I turned into a Christian. Dont worry the Lord loves you with all his precious heart. If he doesn't love you, then he wouldn't send Jesus Christ to die for your sins. That's because he wants to be with you forever. Now if your struggling with temptation because you fallen into sin again, and you feel guilty and shame and temptation. That's because the holy spirit dwells in you. You might be feeling these because you desire to live a godly life in Christ. It's in the scripture that says "Those who desire to live a godly life in Christ will be persecuted". Remember this, the devil plays around those who are weak in faith. So it is possible that your feeling this because of you weak faith. And so the devil begins to pop up evil thoughts or imagination in your mind. Such as blasphemous thoughts. Don't worry we are in the same situation. Right now I'm facing guiltness and temptation that's because if my weak faith. Don't loose hope. Because we are living in the last days as the scripture says, "It is time, when my chosen ones will be persecuted". Could be possible that you are the chosen one for Christ!. Thank you for this reminder. This is something important in that many feel guilty and that there's no way out. But there is and that's where you come in. You remind us that God forgives and he loves us no matter what, even when we've been bad. There is nothing we can't come back from.

Deborah, sin is not gentle. If you still sin, you are a servant of the devil, and you cannot serve 2 masters. You still feel guilty because you are guilty. Let’s let the Bible speak. Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. I am crying from Saturday night, then wake up Sunday morning crying but sunday I feel a lot better than today, because I couldn't feel his presence around me Sunday. But I ask a sis to help me with few scripture that I received be I don't know if I am misinterpreting the scripture. So I wake up this morning again crying because of the message I received so to me I feel bad in myself because I misinterpreted the bible and did something wrong so I started crying again thinking god don't forgive me. Then I stop and remember the words that the strange man was saying to job about god and what he wouldn't do to him job after he have done so many good for him. There is where I take a grip of myself and strated to think different. Then I prayed ask for his forgiveness.

What if I keep doing a sin and after I ask forgiveness I go right back to it. I don't want to do it but its a pull. Like as in being a 16 year old guy I have my faults and I always regret it. For me, the "still feeling guilty" is actually a sign because we are not whole heartly confess to God. Because depends in God hand is better than our strength and power. And in this case, we need more Faith to believe that God is merciful and His Grace has no end.

I am in the same boat. My heart and chest feels heavy at times and at other times I forget it. This is all after I have asked God for forgiveness but I just feel like I am too far gone for his love... but with time we can make things right and we just need to start loving and living for God and remember that he loves us all.

I understand and I can relate but give it to God. Ask for forgiveness and abstain. Do you believe that Jesus died for the sins of the world? And as far as being able to relate I too had that problem but honestly one day I stopped and never did it again and I hope to never fall to temptation again. I used to think of my past sins until He showed me that I asked for forgiveness and did not trust Him to forgive me. He took my to the scripture that says to leave it at the alter and don't pick it back up.

I have repented for all my sins and asked god for forgiveness.I’m a young teenager and I started going to church to become closer with god . I’ve been hearing stories of people asking for forgiveness and having conversations with Jesus and I’ve been feeling guilty that my lack of faith in god in the past has destroyed any connection and forgiveness between me and god. I’ve been praying every night before I go to sleep for the last 6 months about how bless I am to have him in my life even when I’m going through problems in life .

A LOT of our feelings of guilt and shame are born and developed out of our childhood. As children we don’t have the ability to reason very well, so we have to come up with an explanation for why we feel unloved. The most common explanation we come up with is “because I’m a bad person”, which is of course totally inaccurate. We don’t just shed these feelings when we get older, they actually continue to grow. My therapist had me journal anytime I had these feelings and then later go back and challenge/disprove our false self accusations. We have to continue to challenge these false core beliefs.

I've been haunted by my past sins, like alllll kinds of sins in the Bible. I live in fear and guilt now. That it's too late for me to be forgiven by God. Guilt guilt and guilt is all I'm living with now. Which is making me feel hopeless. It's stopping me from going to Church, reading the Bible. Reading the Bible even scares me more, because whenever I read the Bible, all I see is my sins in every way. Now I'm having this great regrets and remorse, for why I've been such a fool. I feel like God's not even gonna listen to my prayers anymore. Need a little counselling please.

Sometimes the devil of the world tries to keep people stuck in guilt and away from our Lord. My sin was 40 years ago. I have then felt unworthy of my Saviour saving of me. Often felt I didn’t deserve forgiveness. I repented yet it’s there.
I used to feel guilty less often but since turning to Christ and church groups I have started to feel guilty more often. At church we bring it up sometimes and our group agreed that part of faith is to celebrate our guilt, because it keeps us clean and beneath Him. Guilt might be part of our Christian culture that we inherited. I would not be ashamed of guilt as it is part of being a good Christian, and those that are not guilty might not be forgiven and thus might not reach heaven. I myself often have guilty feelings of not enough faith in God but I use this guilt to ask for forgiveness so I can be saved. I don’t think we should try to overcome our guilt but recognise it as part of being a Christian, even if it is difficult to live with.

We are in the same situation, I'm only 11 yrs old and dealing with this. I grew up with Roman Catholic parents. Then I accepted Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and my saviour. That means I turned into a Christian. Dont worry the Lord loves you with all his precious heart. If he doesn't love you, then he wouldn't send Jesus Christ to die for your sins. That's because he wants to be with you forever. Now if your struggling with temptation because you fallen into sin again, and you feel guilty and shame and temptation. That's because the holy spirit dwells in you. You might be feeling these because you desire to live a godly life in Christ. It's in the scripture that says "Those who desire to live a godly life in Christ will be persecuted". Remember this, the devil plays around those who are weak in faith. So it is possible that your feeling this because of you weak faith. And so the devil begins to pop up evil thoughts or imagination in your mind. Such as blasphemous thoughts. Don't worry we are in the same situation. Right now I'm facing guiltness and temptation that's because if my weak faith. Don't loose hope. Because we are living in the last days as the scripture says, "It is time, when my chosen ones will be persecuted". Could be possible that you are the chosen one for Christ!. Every time you sin, you turn to satan to serve him. Sin, repent, repeat is slavery to sin. Jesus freed you from this!!! Almost everyone will tell you, everyone is a sinner until they die. The Bible contradicts this! Sinners will not make it out in the end.

I am crying from Saturday night, then wake up Sunday morning crying but sunday I feel a lot better than today, because I couldn't feel his presence around me Sunday. But I ask a sis to help me with few scripture that I received be I don't know if I am misinterpreting the scripture. So I wake up this morning again crying because of the message I received so to me I feel bad in myself because I misinterpreted the bible and did something wrong so I started crying again thinking god don't forgive me. What if I keep doing a sin and after I ask forgiveness I go right back to it. I don't want to do it but its a pull. Like as in being a 16 year old guy I have my faults and I always regret it. I feel like its a hopeless cause bc it just drains to much of my life. I will ask forgiveness again but I am afraid of doing the same thing again. I am in the same boat. My heart and chest feels heavy at times and at other times I forget it.
