- So how do we deal with repetitive sin according to the Bible? There are so many good answers here, but perhaps the most important way to deal with repetitive sin is to never give up. Our hope is only found when we truly believe that God’s faithfulness is greater than our faithlessness.

I am struggling w/ all types of pornography and lust addiction. I have been convinced that I had a bad spirit in me, but recently I was saved. Before I didn't know Jesus. ( I thought I did) I have been able to avoid it lately, but I still think about it a lot I try to constantly stay in the Bible or listening to something good for the soul. But it only takes a moment of absent mindness. My counselor told me condemnation is not of God, but I'm just always hard on myself. Like, why can't I control myself... it makes me mad. The harder I focus on not sinning the worse I feel if I mess up. BUt I have learned to quickly repent and keep it moving. Forward towards God. I now know the voice of doubt or negativity is not of God either. I am forever greatful to finally know Jesus now, I just want to do my best for God

Everytime I feel like I have a toehold in the word I seem to fall. I then feel like what's the use, feel like my struggle to overcome myself is fruitless.

I resisted my lustful urges this morning, then went back to sleep. When I woke up I gave in to my lust. I was so ashamed but the first thing I said when I got out of bed was “ I am never giving up” and I hope God sees and hears that even though I have fallen I have not turned away from Him, I am struggling to become closer to Him past my humanity and sin. Please pray for me, it seems after a week or so I stumble. I don’t give up and never will, but I need all the prayers I can get in support of overcoming.

Danny Phantom : I know exactly what you’re going through, I’m going through exactly the same thing you’re going through, but as hard as it is to go back to my prayers to god and ask him to forgive me over the same lustful sin that I’m going through his hard because I keep thinking how is god going to forgive me again over the same sin that I can’t break away from. But as hard as it is, I feel that I have to force myself to get down on my knees and beg god to forgive me just one more time, thinking that I’ll never do it again, but sooner or later I end up falling back right into the same sin. So I understand exactly what you’re going through and don’t EVER EVER GIVE UP, nether am I.

That is why i feel so guilty when i repeat, i feel disappointed. I am practically crying right now. I have failed to sleep, i just had to get words from someone to give me my strength, i feel weak. I am even failing to kneel and pray, feeling embarrassed.

I found this through a commenters channel. I've already learned of sin and the Devil...the hard way. What an awful year of life that was. An endless cycle of Hell on Earth. 20 000 dollars wasted on pleasure. Gluttony, lust and sloth are the highly addictive repetetive sins of pleasure that you just can't escape but pride and wrath are the most mentally damaging ones. Wrath causes constant stress and hair loss but pride keeps you trapped from receiving help. Praise Jesus!

Perhaps maybe your Holy Book is what is in the wrong. At some point, one must consider if the actions they are doing really are as bad as those around them claim to be. There are lots of religions out there, and they all can't be right. If your "sin" isn't hurting anyone, including yourself, is it really a bad thing? An arbitrary authority telling you what to do is a good reason to do what you do.
Bambsy It’s not my Holy Book... it’s morality that dictates what is good and bad. God’s Word is written in our hearts and that is why we know, deep inside, if something is good or bad. Those behaviors always hurt someone... even if it’s ourselves. Our conscious either accuses us or excuses us.
You feel guilty if you don’t confess it Jesus says unless you become like a child you will not see the kingdom. Think about how many times a child does something wrong deliberately but still comes back to mom or dad and say sorry mom sorry dad I love you and the relationship continues. When you let your sin overpower you are ultimately saying sin is greater than God’s grace and mercy which is not true. So don’t worry when you make an honest keep going back to Jesus the everlasting father and he will forgive you
tinashe fireyi you’re making assumptions. You don’t even know me so how do you know I don’t confess it? I do and I strive to not keep falling in the same pattern... that’s why I feel guilty when I fail. Guilt isn’t necessarily bad... it’s our spirit and soul’s nervous system. The reason we feel pain physically in our bodies isn’t so we can be tortured. The nervous system and pain are there to let us know something is wrong. If you didn’t have that you can sit on a fire and burn to death and not even know it. However, when we feel the pain of the burning blaze we quickly jump out of the fire and avoid dying. Guilt brings us back to the cross. If we numb out the guilt we will surely die. So no, I meant what I said and know that my salvation isn’t based on works, but that this healthy guilt helps me get closer to the Lord.

@Marie G 777 yes it is, personal experience. I struggled with all types of sexual desires but I fasted and prayed alot more. and thankfully I was changed, I bested temptation and walked closer to God. It works, yes I still fail. But ik God is good

U can start early morning, I start when.i wake up and I dont eat nothing until 5 before I eat I pray and tell God that I am done for the day, if you're gonna fast, u should pray alot more tho. SO at least 3 times A day and read the bible at least once a day, I pray when everybody else is eating or when I would usually eat, morning, afternoon and before bed. Fasting is such a great tool, you're physically hungryness, from what I understand. Represents your soul's hunger for a change, I fats because I want a change in my life, what the reason is that ur fasting for, it should sincere and honest. You can bring ur fast to God whenever u would like any time during the day and fast as many days as you would like.

Fast and pray and/or find someone to help you that has the holy spirit. I overcome fornication like around 3 months with self deliverance, and still struggle with hard temptations, but with prayer I can overcome the temptation.
I do this sin to I’m 13 I got the holy spirt over mouth by now. I keep praying it’s getting better for me with this sin

Bondage in sin is caused by deception. To repent means to “stop and turn away!” Those meaningless apologies create a false sense of security. Christians have been duped into believing they have a license (Bible) to continue taking pleasure sinning against God. The double minded man will die. The wages of sin is death. Every branch in Christ that does not bear fruit will be cut off and burned. The warnings go on and on and on. Christians cannot, and will not stop sinning until they realize they will burn along with the wicked. The Spirit of God cannot sin against God. Pump the brakes and ask yourself who is leading you, more importantly to where. Unrepentant sinners will never see the kingdom of heaven. It took my entire life to get this through my own head and into my heart. This is how I was freed from the bondage of continuous willful sin. If you read this the Lord is still knocking.

We start by first deciding what’s most important to us. The pleasures of the flesh or pleasing God. We don’t hurt the ones we love, and that includes God above all. No one is capable of escaping sin until we learn to fear God. Similarly a disobedient child has no fear of his father (Guardian). If you decide God is most important, plead to him for forgiveness and don’t turn back.

I’ve been struggling with porn addiction for the last 10 years, it’s been taking a toll on my faith and mental health, and many times I questioned my own faith because of my actions, I even saw once brothers-in-faith desert because of that same problem.
But God never failed to show me His great forgiveness. It was never about how much I sinned, but how great was His sons sacrifice.
For anyone also struggling, there is no sin big (or frequent) enough that God can’t forgive. Our christian path is not about how much we don’t sin, but how big His love is for us.

Oh my gosh, I am in tears right now! Sometimes I feel like I am the only one that sins against God. I need to spend more time with him. I don't read or pray like I should, but I have time for everything else and I wonder why I keep falling in the same sin. I become depressed when I sin against God. I am so stuck in this sin. Listening to you speak about this vicious cycle felt like an exact retelling of how I fell into sin. As of late, I've become so numb to God that I'm not even thinking about the repercussions of my repetitive sin and wiping any shame from my mind. Writing this isn't going to help, and I know that. I am still trapped. But it at least feels good to see it written down.

I'm seemingly stuck too. But, I know the devil is behind this struggle. if I know this, GOD does too. And HE NEVER condemns me, as I ask forgiveness EVERYTIME. And HE promises to forgive me "70×7" - at least. HE said this so I don't allow ANY condemnation from the devil or my own mind bc I know I've done all I cn and I know one day there will be deliverance for me. Like he said, I refuse to give up! Neither should you. Encourage ur own self in the LORD, bite the bullet and go on.

Hello Trenton. I don't know you, but I just wanted to take a minute to tell you your not alone. Your very situation is what brought me here now trying to get advice on how to stop sinning. I keep messing up all the time myself almost like I'm two different people in one. I hate myself, and the things I do. I seem to have a difficult time walking in the spirit. I feel like slowly but surely this problem is causing a separation between me and God (The Creator). I know now there is nothing I can ever do besides to repent completely which seems to be the most difficult thing. I really do hope Gods ways are greater then our ways, and his love, and mercy is greater then ours. What other hope do we have but in his grace through Jesus Christ? What other hope is there? Either way I say, Don't ever give up, and try to keep in faith, and repent as often as you can. If you ever want to talk or anything hit me up. I don't care who you are, or age or anything, all that matters is we're all in this together and your not alone. I'm glad to see you have a good heart about it, and your able to see that you do have a problem and need to repent. Your not lost, because as of yet your conscience hasn't been seared like a hot iron. When you sin and don't have a conscience about it then is when that's a bad sign. I believe we feel bad, because God is letting us know through our spirits. Life, and creation are both Beautiful. Its my sin and the sin of the world that makes things so ugly. Keep fighting the good fight.

Paul the apostle said that if we walk in the spirit we will not fulfill the desires of the flesh, and the more we put our time and attention towards practicing what Christ has taught the less time we will be unguarded and/or open to other distractions that could open the door for sin. Listening to wholesome uplifting Christian music, or watching biblical accurate Christian movies, and singing songs of faith and love for the Lord as well as witnessing to others, via example or writing letters to people or visiting those who are in hospitals, retirement facilities or prisons, or praying for the salvation of others, among other needs, recording a short testimony of our own experiences and how God saved you could be an inspiration for many others as well! But in all things be humble while giving the glory and honor to the Lord Jesus the Christ! And ask the Lord to help make your own motives pure in whatever you decide to do!

@Makayla Southern It is impossible on our own, that's why God had to give His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us, so that those who believe in Him (Jesus) may have eternal life. This means through Jesus alone can we stop sinning willfully. Take it from me, I was a prisoner of porn for some time, but He saved me from it. And to this day, I am able to say no to even the thought of it because of Christ.
Only through a real relationshop with the Messiah are we only able to conquer willfull sinning. Less of us and more of Him!

@IMarkovic1995 IMarkovic1995 I didn't say stop sinning completely. I didn't intend my message to tell everyone that after receiving Jesus we will be ble to live a sinless life, definitely not! What I meant was, through Christ alone can we have the power against willful sinning. Of course while we're in this temporal world, we will sin, but with Christ's saving power are we only able to flee evil. In Christ we are no longer sinners, though we sin still.
Bottom line: Everyone who has received Christ is never gonna be perfect as Jesus is the only perfect Son of Man. That said, we are a work in progress; therefore, we must--with Jesus' help--deal with willful sinning and not surrender to it. God bless us all and Merry Christmas!

I’ve actually felt Satan tell me “ it’s ok, just do it, it’s not that big of a deal.” Then I do it but immediately feel guilty and ashamed. The snares of the Devil are very powerful. I need God very much..
Please see the videos in my playlist called _"Be Set Free From Sin"_ for help. It is God's grace that will help you overcome sin and live a new life that is pleasing to Him (Titus 2:11-14). But it starts with repentance first, in the way that the Bible teaches it.

I just wanna give everyone here a fat hug and tell them that they’re loved. It’s gonna be okay, and God is there with you because his love is unconditional. I’ve had a pornography addiction since I was 10 (now almost 19), but I’m wanting it less and less as the months go by because my faith in Him is growing stronger due to some people God has put in my life. I thank Him daily for the good He has done to me. Some days I cry rivers of tears just thinking about the never ending love He shows us even after we spit in His face over and over again. There is hope. Jesus didn’t die for you so you could hold on to your sin, Jesus died so you could live in freedom and joy and live a life worth living. Jesus took care of that guilt and shame. What you hear and feel negatively on the inside are only lies that the enemy are trying to distract you with. When you stop believing them and began to truly believe and follow Jesus, your gonna be in for one heck of an awesome journey with the God of the Universe.

Absolutely. Praying for you brother. Hold fast to Jesus. He won - He said the battle is finished. He is Victor over sin - porn, masturbation, addiction, shame, everything. So you need to stop trying to wrestle temptation and trying to overcome in your own strength - you can't do it and your not meant to. Instead, rest in Jesus's once-for-all-times victory. That victory stands even when your life looks like defeat. So when you fall again, repent and come rest in his victory again. He overcome for you for all times.
And can I give you some advice? Choose a wise Christian brother and confess your struggle to him. It sounds like the hardest thing ever to do - but honestly it will be so freeing. As Christian family we're called to walk alongside each other and bear each other's burdens and messes, not to pretend that we don't have any mess. Shame will tell you that you need to keep your sin hidden but that's a lie. Bring it to God and confess it to brothers and allow them to walk alongside side you. So on the days when the devil is trying to convince you that you're alone and a slave to your sin, you have brothers to speak truth into you that you are not alone and Jesus is your Victory

The way I overcame this sexual repetitive sin was to make a strict plan. This plan consisted of strict rules for myself such as; no t having any electronics on me while in bed except the T.V., no watching shows or movies with sensual dressed women, not talking about my past sexual experiences and praying/repenting of my sin. These rules helped me a lot. Just come up with your own rules and follow them to a T. Don't forgot to pray about it and you should see results as long as you try.

Thank you for this. I agree with your point that we should never give into the sin and harden our hearts to it. I struggled with a repetitive sin for so long (more than 20 years) and even then I never gave up believing that God was a loving Father who would forgive my sins. But the more I continued in this sin the worse it became until I was doing things I’d never thought I would do. Eventually I reached a breaking point. I was tired of the guilt and shame and feelings of condemnation. And so I just gave up. I fell on my knees in tears n told God I’d had enough. That I couldn’t overcome on my own and that I needed Him to take the sin away. That was about 8 months ago and I’ve not committed that sin since. Even the desire to commit it is gone.
That’s how you overcome: God’s power + your will = freedom from sin.
Jesus freed you from sin it had nothing to do with our will as you were trying to quit with your will previously and you failed but when you entrusted God to take it away then you had success because of his will. Be careful to add yourself into salvation and deliverence for it is Gods power that saves us and he gets all the glory as salvation is not of ourselves it is a gift of God (eph 2:8)

People struggle with different issues in life, but one of the most difficult is those associated with sexual desire. We want so much to be touched and loved. I spent many years in the world of the occult and I can honestly tell you that it is a domain run and controlled by demons. These same supernatural persons (fallen angels) wish to attack us daily through whatever means they can. We must continue to persevere and call upon the name of the Lord (Yeshua - the Lord Saves) and know that He is right there with us through all those struggles. The speaker here is right - don't give up. Once we learn that Christ's love is the true love we are seeking, the sexual elements begin to lose their power over us. This is a long process though, for some even a whole lifetime. But God is patient and merciful when we confess that it is wrong - and that makes Him all the more loveable. Peace all through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for I too am a servant who struggles with sin.

No amount of "deliverance ministry" can do what God has equipped us to do. He has not permitted us to be tempted beyond our ability. I’ve been dealing with the spirit of lust/perversion heavy and I’ve been running back to this sin over and over... I was just telling God how I feel like I’m not gonna ever be good enough for Him and how I feel like I should just walk away from the faith altogether because I repent and run right back to my sin... I just listened to a deliverance prayer bc I so badly want to get rid of this spirit of lust. Next thing I know, this video popped up in my recommendations... 😩 completely undone by God’s unconditional love 😣😥 I feel unworthy but I must fight the good fight, repent quickly and not give up. When I was a kid I was molested. Which shoved me into a world of porn and masturbation. I’ve never actually slept with anyone, I just turned to pleasing myself. I never really understood how, in my twisted mind, me being molested caused me to indulge in sexual immorality rather than shy from it. I’ve never spoken it out loud due to shame on my behalf. I’ve been consumed by this habitual sin for years and it’s wearing me down. I’m angry with myself for not having self control to stop. I know I’m willfully sinning and I know that I should stop but I can’t. I know that sounds dumb, but I really want to stop. I don’t know how to explain it but whenever I do good, I always fall back into. Why can’t I turn away from this and never look back? It’s literally the only thing I struggle with. My mind always conjoures up some sick sexually thought and I try to make it stop and I try to lean on and seek Yahuah with all my heart but I guess I still don’t know how. My biggest fear is dying in my sin and going to hell and I know that if I keep this up I will be going to the place I fear. I feel that Yahuah no longer listens to me because I am a willful sinner. I don’t deserve His grace or His mercy. The wages of my sin is death and rightfully so. And I know He has given me a way out. I just pray that He has chosen me to return back to Him. To do His will, works and word. I want the eye of my body to be filled with light and not darkness. I want sin to truly have no dominion over me. I want to truly turn from my wicked ways. I want to represent Yahusha. I want to serve Yahuah in body and spirit. I don’t want to be a hypocrite who professes the word of Yahuah out of my mouth but not have Him stored in my heart. I no longer want to be lukewarm. I want people to see the Ruah Haqodesh (Holy Spirit) of Yahuah in me. I want there to be a clear distinction on who I serve. And I want to serve Yahusha HaMashiach my Adonai... I don’t want a sugar coated version, nor do I want to hear that we all stumble and that it will be ok, because it won’t be. A true follower of Yahusha will battle with sin but not habitual sin, they would overcome that. I want to hear how I can stop this, I want to overcome this. How I can be seen as good in Yahuahs eyes, because right now I know that He is not pleased with me, so I know that He can’t love me because I don’t follow His commandments. I want to follow Him completely. I just don’t know what is not clicking in my head to make me stop, what am I not getting? Please Father help me, I need your guidance. I need you to move in my life like never before. Remove every impure thing within me and build me back up into who you called me to be. Teach me to lean on you even when I’m in the middle of a storm. To listen to your voice and to give no control to the enemy. I no longer find pleasure in sin or complacency in the world. Help me please, I give you complete control over my life even after death.
Faith, this is a spiritual issue, I have had the same problem.
Put your trust in Yeshuah, he will deliver you. Look at him at all times. I've been reading myself in many people's comments here. Don't give up, Yeshuah loves you, I must remember this myself! Guilt and condemnation come from the devil, the word diabolos in greek, which means the one who hurls accusations. Remember that we have a redeemer in Yeshuah, I must remember this myself.

I've had a long road out of a porn and crossdress addiction. To all addicted people here: Yes there IS a way out. There are some keys I want to share with you:
1. Like Mark shows in this video: sin a 1000 times, but stand up 1001 times
2. The truth will set you free. Speak out loud the truth, it will eliminate the lies in your system.
3. Read the truth in Gods Word and applies it on your specific situation
4. Pray for a prayer buddy. Once you start the jointly prayer you will make enormous steps in your victory
5. You can't overcome your addiction on your own. Any addiction is based on very deep issues, like rejection, abandonment or attachment issues, these wounds needs a lot of care and attention. Find help to process the underlaying pain.
Once you go through this pain, you don't-need-to-sin-any-more. Every addiction is a coping mechanism, like a band aid. Think about this.
6. Humbleness is the most important thing in my attitude as pride makes me sin. If I can manage to stay humble, there is far less change I sin. Humble yourself in all kind of ways possible.
7. Never ever doubt about Gods love and merci for you. It's your shame and pride that makes you doubt His love for you.
This really spoke to me and #5 is the reason I’m having trouble letting go of my addiction. Thanks so much for this.

Amen but Melissa, I do feel we can't prolong the time we will be set free. We must forsake the sin we find ourselves battling. God will bless a marriage that is pure. If we continue in fornication willingly, we are being deceived thinking it is okay. If you do plan on getting married, do everything you can to forsake the sin.

Smoking. Is my biggest sin. I'm willfully sinning as I smoke my cigarettes as I think I need one and smoke one. God knows my heart, I hope I know my heart...I don't want this bondage I have to cigarettes. I've overcome addiction to other things like opiates and alcohol. I've also been having dreams of Jesus and me getting advice on scripture but then turns to a sexual dream...I'm being attacked spiritually. I don't know what to do. I continue to pray but it seems like the more I pray the worse I smoke. I'm never going to give up.

This is so true and revealing. It’s so easy to watch porn on this same phone for 1 hour than it is to listen to this video for 8 mins. At the end of the day, this pays you more and helps you in your spiritual aspect more than the sin you think you are enjoying. I wish I could have this on my mind each time I’m faced with sin.

Its like a glass that is empty. If you try to imagine it full, it will never fill. But if you fill it , it will become useful and practical. The best way to fight sin, is to find yourself in Jesus presence. Seek Him, focus on Him... dont fight the sin. When in Jesus presence, your spirit arises and your cup overflows. Then the desire to sin fades away. So read the Word prayerfully. Everytime you have a urge to sin (thats the flag, that the devil is busy), say thank you devil fro reminding me i need to spend time with Jesus. Pick uo your Bible or pray or worship the King and you will see the devil back off quicker than ever

I don’t know how many people caught this, but your illustration about imaging your glass full not working is spot on. Jesus has filled the glass and his word says we are to “Stand”. Quit trying to fight the sin, stand on what Jesus has already done. Addictions start with a bad idea, then it turns into a bad habit, eventually it will take over your life. Good habits start the same way. Sexual sins start thru our eyes. Starve your eyes which in turn will clear your mind and thoughts. Stand on what Jesus has already done. Keep on praying brother! Im set free from alcohol, drugs, smoking. I felt for years totally lost. But He will set you free. Set your heart and mind on Jesus. Only Jesus, He is your medicine. Read the bible, pray, speak to other believers, go to family and friends who you love. Let love flow throw your lifd. Let the Holy Ghost be your leader. Only focus on Jesus,not the problems. He will set you free. Pray, pray, pray
