I love that you are like "I'm bringing condoms, men should have them but I don't trust them to" cos it's so true and it's something that a lot of travellers don't mention at all because it's seen as tabu? I aways watch your videos when I am packing, a bit of a "pack with me" situation
You’re amazing! I loved your Mexico adventures and look forward to following you in this new chapter. I’m 67 and my wife is 66 and we have no plans on slowing down in our travels. Your packing is an inspiration! Safe travels and be well.
I’m in the middle of planning a multi-climate trip and this was the most helpful video you have made yet!! I love all your videos but this one was great!
I was recently speaking to one my colleagues who is an eye specialist about contacts! I would be very careful with reusing dailies - especially if you are wearing them for long hours. Not only can they get dry and itchy, but dry contacts are more adhesive for dust/dirt etc. If those contacts are then placed back on the eye, it can cause a chronic inflammation of the surface, and even infections. I’m sure you’re very sensible but please take care!
I brought this backpack after seeing you with it over a year ago and its THE best backpack for travelling! You can put so much stuff in there and its so comfortable!
Love the video. Be careful with wearing daily contacts several days. The oxygen supply gets worse the longer they are used (even when you feel fine). If your eyes get dry/itchy/hurt take out the current lenses immedietly.
Did a month long Europe trip in Oct 2019 with this backpack. It is the most comfortable pack ever! I see so many prefer the Osprey and I gave that one to my daughter when I found this Eagle Creek. Not going to lie... I didn't think you could get it all in but WAHLAH! :) Haha!! I was able to get my pack down to 6.5kg (14lbs) as I have some back problems and can't have it too heavy. Was able to interchange all the clothes was key. 2 pants, 1 short, 2 dresses and 5 shirts all interchanged with the bottoms and dresses. Worked out well with the Eagle Creek compression packing cubes. Awesome video!
I’ve always loved your packing videos! I love how you have a clip of you wearing the clothes you’ll bring. It’s so new you not bring snorkel this time 😂🤣😂🤣
I’ve used the box for my shampoo bars and I’m honestly not impressed. It takes up so much space, it still doesn’t dry any quicker and when on the move with your soaps wet it will leak all over your stuff. Also it broke after I’ve dropped it once. I think this box is great for my bars at home but for travelling I’ve gone back to the metal tins. If anyone has any tips please let me know!! About travelling with contacts, My mum usually just goes for monthly lenses which take up way less space :) And i got the coil put in in February and I checked with my doctor and he said it’s fine to use the cup after 6 weeks of having the coil in. I’ve been using it for about 6 months and nothing bad has happened yet. Also thank you so much for recommending this backpack. I got it last year and it’s revolutionary!
I have tip for metal tins! Put piece of baking paper on bottom of metal tins. After that you can put your shampoo bar inside wet and it will not stick to bottom. Saw this on some packing video couple of years ago and have use this tip since. If I travel I don't usually even dry my shampoo bar after use. I just use it and put it back in tin and close the lid. Of course some times I let it fully dry before closing lid. Maybe every fourth use. 🤔 Sorry about my English ✌🏼
How did I just find this channel now? This is the first video of yours to ever come up on my explore page and I’m already subscribed!! Can’t wait for more vids
Oh my gosh I NEED those pants!! Don't know if I ever told you that my solo bum bag is my everyday bag in the summer/when I'm traveling, can't wait to expand the pieces I have!!!
I can't believe you were able to fit all those clothes into a 40L backpack! I'm 17F and just bought a Farpoint Trek 55 for my first ever solo backpacking trip next summer (A bit early, but I didn't want to miss out on the black friday deals,) and I'm worried I won't be able to fit half the stuff you just fit into your backpack!
You absolutely will be able to fit it all in 🙌🏼🙌🏼 you may have to make some compromises but you’ve got lots of time to come up with an efficient packing system 😊
Just FYI you can use a menstrual cup with a coil/IUD. I have a copper iud and basically exclusively use a menstrual cup- the trick is to just not take it out by simply pulling the nub but just reach in a tiny bit and fold the cup whilst pulling it out
I absolutely love your videos. I will be going on a big trip to South America (3-4 months), and I find so many tips that I will use when I finally go. I got the same backpack from your recommendation. Can't wait to get that bad boy out.
Love this video as I'm prepping for my own long trip. But I want to warn you that reusing daily contacts can be baaaad news. The reason being is dailies are not as breathable and therefore can trap more germs. I tried to do so out of desperation once and ended up with an ulcer on my eye. However I've been surprised that quite a few countries had my prescription available (I am quite blind and kept a copy of my written prescription last time I was traveling). Happy travels!
Would recommend an oil cleanser for removing makeup. You could decant into one of those tiny muji bottles - no need for cotton pads. On one trip i got one of those mini coconut oil jars from holland and barratt and it doubled up as a heavy duty lotion too. win win!
You look so pretty and in shape!! ❤️ However please if a contact lense is for one day DO NOT USE IT FOR LONGER. No matter who says what. Your vision is not a game. Buy 2 weeks ones or monthly ones if you dont want to open new ones each day, but dont overwear contacts, especially not regularly.
Do not recycle your daily lenses!!! I used to do that and I kept getting eye infections! It’s not worth the risk. Just bring enough for days you know you might need them. Wear your glasses on travel days cos you don’t want to sleep/nap with those in your eyes
I love these packing videos also for contacts, not sure if the brand you're using offers it but there are monthly options so you use the same pair of contacts for a month! Very handy for traveling
I love the Gonex compression cubes. I always take an empty one to use as a laundry bag, too. I used a gonex cube when I was going to a wedding in the US that I was MOH in and had to take a dress (Lindy Bop style) and the petticoat. Both fit perfectly in the bottom of my backpack.
They have contact lenses that you can reuse up to a month and they are usually much cheaper than daily ones. There are also contacts you can sleep in for up to a month if you dont even want to be fussed with taking them out. They are more expensive than the ones you take out but still cheaper than daily brands. The ones you sleep in are perfect for travel and you only need to bring one or two small boxes (containing 6 lenses) for multi month trips. Saves a ton of space.
Hiya, long term contact lens wearer here 👋🏻 Please never sleep in contact lenses, whatever type they are!! I’ve done it by mistake a few times and it’s horrible 😭 Eyes need direct contact with the air to absorb oxygen, so regardless of what type of contact lens you shouldn’t regularly wear them for more than 12 hours a day (although it’s fine to wear them for longer every now and then). I agree about the monthly lenses though, you just need to carry one pair per month, they’re more durable and (in my experience) easier to take in & out, plus it works out cheaper ☺️ Just be sure to thoroughly clean them every single day! Last thing, after wearing contact lenses for about 10 years I eventually got laser eye surgery and it’s amazing, especially for travelling as having to constantly worry about glasses/contact lenses is such a faff. Of course it’s expensive upfront so not an option for everyone, but across a lifetime of glasses/contact lenses/eye tests it works out cheaper! Hope that helps ☺️
I wear the sleep ins and have for 8-10 years. At my regular eye check ups my doctors gave always told me my eyes are perfect. So be cautious always but there are good experiences with them too!
you can totally wear a menstrual cup with a coil, don't be scared :)) I've done it for 4+ years and know many others that have done that too, no problems anywhere. My gyno also never mentioned this..

Wohoo, I love your packing videos!! And I love that this one is almost 50 minutes 😂😍 I used to wear dailies as well (now I wear monthly contacts) and used them for several days and never had any issues 😁
Loved this! I just returned to Australia after living in london for 3 years. I did mini trips with a cabin suitcase but now I’m planning a longer trip and I’m taking a backpack this time.. just need to decided on what size 😂
I love your packing videos! But I seriously have no idea how you fit all the things that you do. I am carrying about half the clothes and 2/3 the toileties and feel like my pack is SOOOOO full! I am currently on a 1 year trip with a 45L pacsafe. I had the Osprey Fairview 40L but definitely like the added 5L, how it opens (similar to eagle creek) and the security features. Love your videos--thanks!
Hi Christianne! Thank-you for this lovely video, I've found your packing videos extremely helpful now that I'm preparing for a backpacking trip through SA. ** I was wondering which Travel insurance do you recommend? ** Thank you!!
Rolling tightly and neatly would flatten all those cubes right down, flatter is best for packing light as it makes everything less bulky and the clothes are not as crushed and creased.... Also shoes are best sole to sole heel to toe ... or even split them up to fit them in the spaces.... you struggling is why rolling is best, the time you spend playing tetris is the difference in the time it takes to roll them up, plus it makes carrying it so much more comfy as it is a slimmer profile to the less bulky cubes ..
The wrist things are called Sea-bands, in case anyone else was curious. They use the P6 pressure point to decrease nausea. We generally recommend them to pregnant patients since they cant take normal dramamine. Anyways, love the videos. It's awesome how thorough you are with these, and definitely helps us make more informed decisions for our own trips.
The stick in the contact lens case is for hard lens only, which I don't even know if they make those anymore. Hard lens are made of glass, and if your eye gets dry, they can get stuck on your cornea and then you need that stick to suction them off, leaving a scratch on your cornea. Ask me how I know.
Have you ever tried the small makeup remover towels? I have a set and I literally just bring one tiny towel and if you get it wet it takes off makeup without having to bring any liquid or wipes. It’s amazing!
A new videoooo 😍😍😍I want to go on a long trip next year but I'm not planning to visit some wild, hidden areas. I was thinking about getting a north face voyager 42 L, have a backpack as personal item and a bum bag✨
I’m so miffed, I’ve been thinking about buying one of those backless tops for a bit now and they’ve only got an XS on the site that ships to Australia 😭😭😭
Do your solo microfibre towels have the typical microfibre feel? If that makes sense? Like the fluffy look of them in comparison to my dock & bay towels but I don’t like the feel of normal microfibre towels I’ve had in the past.
Hey! When is the SOLO release of the black trousers? I leave for a trip in six weeks and really want to take these with me! Hope you're having a lovely time in Istanbul!
hiya!!! :) I love watching your videos, it’s given me the best advice for a backpacking trip to Spain that im planning this summer!! strange question- but what kind of Apple Watch do you have and how do you find travelling with it? currently debating if it should be an item I take with me or leave at home!
Hey! I love your videos❤️ I am going to Asia for a solo travel, and it’s my first time alone. But I have a question… Where did you get the backpack?? After watching your videos I fell in love with it !!🤩
I have got to ask, how much was the weight limit if you remember it even anymore. Can you name the average weight of your pink backpack while traveling? I’m worried it will be easily over the limit which is usually under 10kg
Please don't reuse the daily disposable contact lenses unless you absolutely have to in a pinch. They are much thinner than normal reusable contact lenses and aren't made to be cleaned even if you use the cleaning solution. If it's just about saving some money, get the monthly contact lenses, they work out cheaper. Monthly contact lenses have a coating that makes it possible to clean them, which dailies don't. Even if the chances are low, the staph infection is not worth it. I hope this doesn't come across as condescending, I've just heard a lot of misiformation about dailies floating around.
Do you find you have any issues at the airport with that many bags without checking in? Im worried about having more than my travel backpack and a small sling as I dont want to be charged extra for having an extra electronic backpack like you have (although id love to do that)
Completely depends on the airline and what your carry-on allowance is! With British airways, I could take all of these bags without issues. If I was flying with Ryanair, it would be a completely different story 😅
An almost 50 minute packing video... this is the dream! 🤗🤗🤗
🥳🥳🥳 grab a cuppa and enjoy ❤️
@@BackpackingBananas IM SORRY THE TROUSERS OMG I NEED THOSE ASAP

hiya!!! :) I love watching your videos, it’s given me the best advice for a backpacking trip to Spain that im planning this summer!! strange question- but what kind of Apple Watch do you have and how do you find travelling with it? currently debating if it should be an item I take with me or leave at home!
Hey! I love your videos❤️
I am going to Asia for a solo travel, and it’s my first time alone. But I have a question…
Where did you get the backpack?? After watching your videos I fell in love with it !!🤩
I hate saying it bc I want this backpack sooo bad but it is discontinued😭😭
Missed the packing videos! Will you be uploading vlogs from Turkey anytime soon?
Yes! Very soon! First one will come on Sunday!
Do you have a link to the sleeping eye mask?
Absolutely!
Hey love your trousers in the video, where did you get them from? 😀
I have the coil and after 6 months my period stopped, 5 years later still haven’t had it
Do you find you have any issues at the airport with that many bags without checking in? Im worried about having more than my travel backpack and a small sling as I dont want to be charged extra for having an extra electronic backpack like you have (although id love to do that)
Completely depends on the airline and what your carry-on allowance is! With British airways, I could take all of these bags without issues. If I was flying with Ryanair, it would be a completely different story 😅
