    G’Day Simon
    I purchased a Garmin Approach G30 which I attached to golf bag as don’t where watches and I find hand held annoying to operate
    Garmin gives me everything I need and easy to use
    👍🏻

      Hi Robert. My watch lives on the golf trolly handle, I can't wear them and grip a club. I have considered a GPS with a screen showing the hole and all the distances to hazards. Maybe one day. By the time I can afford one I wont be able to hit the ball far enough to reach bunkers.....

      @metalheads-golf 9 місяців тому +1

      I'm also using the Garmin G30 for ease of use, don't like watches on my wrists but have it on a clip on the trolley. When trolleys are not allowed I use the carabiner hook and that is on my belt little bit side back left so that it doesn't interfere with my swing. Love it. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

    Looks like a decent bit of kit. My current range finder doesn't have slope, this one looks like a good option. Recharge too! Thanks 👍

      It's £89 and you get £89 worth of range finder. For the cheap end of the market I would be happy to buy it.

    Looks very good indeed. I think I will buy one. I did have a state of the art Bushnel a couple of years ago but sold it because I couldn’t focus on the flag - particularly if it was windy. This sweep mechanism seems to get round this problem

      David, it's a cheaper end laser. I think it performed a bit better than it's price tag. Magnification made it excellent to use. Sweep was good but not perfect. It's not a £200 range finder but it's worth it's money. Some I have been sent have gone in the bin.

    Hi Simon, good review. Be interesting to see how you get on with it in Thailand. I think it will also help to calibrate your own judgement after a while.
    Rain due up your way so I hear, plenty down here as well .... its not always sun, no complaints from me either, we need it
    All the best

      I had an outdoor lesson today andt he rain held off until it was over. Got lucky.
      I will see how it gets on in Thailand and how many rounds it will do before needing charging up.

    Good review Simon. Although I'm not looking to go for a range finder just yet. If so in time ... I will consider this one. Liked the sweep function. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

      I use a range finder so I can whisper into the camera the distance and the club I'm using. But mostly to see how far away hazards are. I don't like losing balls.

    • @metalheads-golf
      @metalheads-golf 9 місяців тому +1

      @@thehairygolfer Yes, ... hazards are also for me the one ... and stay as clear of it as possible. But ... that does the G30 good enough. I always take some extra margin. So far so good. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

    Good fair review. 0.1yard increments made me chuckle... Could be to the nearest 10 yards for my game...

    • @thehairygolfer

      In reality middle of the green is all we need. I use it mostly for measuring to hazards. But these days with video I hit the record button and then say 134 yards 8 iron so I know the number for editing. No chance of me remembering a round of golf.

    • @streamleazefishhouse
      @streamleazefishhouse 9 місяців тому +1

      @thehairygolfer my shotscope reminds me of all the mistakes I've made that day location and club, and the occasional lucky hit.. Although the post round editing on that can be arduous.

    And just why are you having a pitching lesson when you can do that on 16????? For a cheap laser rangefinder, that's really good!!! Would i buy one? Not sure. I'll wait to see how it does in Thailand, but it seems promising!!! That's a really interesting video. The conclusion is....well, my hands shake, a lot, no idea why, but on my £13 rangefinder from Temu, I feel as if I have "St Vitus Dance"! Interesting, but.......!
    I'll look forward to seeing how well it does in Thailand!!!

      Well, wait until you see me from 40 yards in the video I made today. And see if you can spot the difference. I will see how easy it is to charge it when on holiday compared to the usual 5000 goes battery. It's worth the money. Obviously not a £450 range finder but who can afford those?

    • @thehairygolfer
      @thehairygolfer  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes it does. Very simple to switch to meters. I've got an update video out in the near future. Possibly in Jan so I can say what it was like for a more than just 1 round.
