Another great video! I love seeing how others tackle this boss and to see their struggle and then eventual victory over the boss is so satisfying. And of course, thanks for again featuring me alongside these great people, I look forward to seeing more reactions in the near future. :-)
I took on the Dancer at level 40... Yeah, that wasn't fun, I was stuck on it for about 3 days because i was stubborn or persistent. That memory of my first playthrough is forever burned in my mind.
this boss is really challenging , but it paid of cause the frayed blade is cool
midir is really easy though, just go in with great heal, sunlight spear, and lightning arrow
I usually go in with those 3 and the 2 gnaws, but hes immune to dark and bleed
Bro I love u ( no homo ) ur so calm about certain situations and that accent spot on dude
Rep Talian I got him down to 1/3 hp 1st try, I was so bummed I lost :(. But eventually beat him after being super patient on the 4th try
After the 50th try, besides dark, he starts doing emotional damage
LMAO :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
That should be a stat above your head irl.
Took me 3 weeks to beat this fuck 😭
@@Alanphyter took me 9 days, I almost cried when I did. Think the game was feeling sorry for me.

“He doesn’t attack like a normal dragon.” No, you’ve just never had an actual dragon fight until now
NK kinda? First phase?
@@szarekhthesilentking7043 For me, Darkeater Midir truly felt like a real dragon fight. NK's dragon felt like fighting a bird that spits fire but is not a phoenix.
@@slushierr but he still has some dragon moves. Even if he is a chicken
@@szarekhthesilentking7043 Only dragon move it had was breathing fire
@Straight Busta It actually is really easy to dodge, if its unavoidable, explain how some naked SL1 dude beat him no hit with only his fists.
To dodge the attack you either need to dodge through it (if its the long wind up one) or sprint at the opposite side (if its the flying one)
"oh my gods"
yup. he's been playing too much dark souls

Raz the Almighty1 don't you EVER say something that fucking satanic again. Damn you. Lol
Raz the Almighty1 Oh MY GOD. And imagine you HAD to defeat Dark Eater everytime to get to Nameless, whom added fucking Lighting Spears on top of the usual Midir shit. Jesus christ the horror.

thats without question and i would even go as further and call him the best souls boss(didnt play BB) but im aware that many disagree and thats fine.
That grab attack is so brutal.
Mr R2 at least it doesn’t grab you across space and time like dancer does
Mr R2 you mean the bite? I only got hit by it once just to see what he did, so easy to dodge
I'm thankful I've never been hit by it.
I got hit by it when I was doing Midir NG+7 fists only. Lets just say I wasnt happy about that instakill.
At least it's both really easy to avoid, and when it does hit, is only a single hit, so it wont kill through Tears of Denial.
I was actually expecting more salt, especially with that Dark Laser Circus of his.
when beat him I actually got somewhat lucky and never got that attack might be because I always stayed very close to his head
Kim Kimera Kimes they weren’t playing a new game+
i was in ng+7 when fight him, i still remember my suffer at that time...
Legendary SHOOT DA WOOP
Its too fucking badass to get salty at. I remember shitting myself when I did this the first time on NG10
Omg, I didn't even know Midir had a grab attack, and I've fought him so many times.
I knew tho I suck shit at dodging it.
One time it hit you. You will remember it for life
9:02 is one of the most satisfying boss kills I've seen.
"i hope he doesnt get a second phase"
...
do you know what game youre playing
Tbh, his second phase isnt that different. The only scary 2nd phase attack is the dark beam, which can hit you even if you're close to Midir.
Probably my favorite thing about Dark Souls is how epic the dragons are. A lot of media sort of makes dragons standard creatures, but I always love when dragons are practically forces of nature that could level a city. That's a proper dragon.
Fatalis would like to have a word with you.
@@dmitribrook2910 I honestly think Midir would tear Fatalis a new one. Maybe not in fire, but with his lasers, certainly.
@@Enneamorph Not to mention Midir is immortal so how can Fatalis even kill him?
Favorite part of this fight is that you can see the corruption of the Abyss manifested on him as fucking crystals

Usually big bosses are meant to be easy.
Yet Dark Souls likes to consistently make colossal behemoths that are frustratingly hard to hit and dodge.
TheHappy_P0tat0 They aren't "meant" to be easy, they're just easy because they are usually too slow so they can be avoided easily by any decent player.
Nah most games meen to make them easy so the casuals can win
JamFilledJarz Lao Shen isn't hard...hell, he ignores you 99% of the time. The only challenge is depleting his hp in time before he wrecks the fortress.
JamFilledJarz they arent that hard and they dont come close with midir pls Fight midir then you know how hard he is
Frustratingly hard to hit and dodge ... until you finally get it, and the fight becomes a dance.
You Git Gud and it feels amazing.
Gitting Gud is a hell of a drug.

Yes
and its effing brutal
If King of the Storm didn't force you to learn how to play unlocked Midr is another good way to learn.
Great boss fight.
Editing was on point, as usual.
][mperial Adept or play a pyro build
Luc- Hart- yeah, but you could probably say that for just about every boss.
Pyromancy is stupidly broken in pve.
][mperial Adept I meant in pvp
Why need to be unlocked on king of the storm? Sure it flies around but that's like the safest part of the fight cause nameless can't aim for shit.
KaedeLanyo Camera will occasionally do some funky shit if you play 100% locked on. Like get stuck on KotS or bounce around. It's not too bad once you get used to it, but playing unlocked avoids it entirely.
One of the most Powerful Dragons in Dark Souls Games
Ancient Dragon still holds Number 1 most hated dragon fight in any dark soul game IMO.
Dood i legit stopped playing the game for 2 weeks....
Right lol. I think i also did it to lower King Vendricks health which wasn't even worth it tbh.
Ancient Dragon? Who is that? That tanky, but lazy boss, that has like 3 attacks? He cant be "most hated dragon", because some part of the player beat him easily, and some part doesnt even know about him.
@@AngelTheButlerOfTime this guy and his fire was ass I died to him over 100 times I beat many notorious bosses in under 40 tries apart from friede and defiled amygdala which took me longer even Gwyn but midir took me over 100

One thing I loved about midir is that he fought like you’d expect a dragon to, unlike the other dragons who have all been kind of stiff, almost like they’re machines
The Animation of Midir when he swirls his fire breath is so Beautiful..Great Effort put on this Dragon's Moveset
0:58 had that "It do go down!" energy XD
The longest boss fight in any Dark souls game, and one of the most obscure, i mean like Ash lake obscure, A invisible wall in an elevator side wall whose only clue is a riddle given by a side character. Took me a good hour to find that weaponless statue.
I personally found this to be the hardest boss I have ever faced personally. For one single reason, I cannot play unlocked I always have to lock on to the boss and thus this entire fight was the camera spazzing out and me having only milliseconds to respond to his attacks as I could see the build up but never the actual attack. so I had to guess the timings for each attack. The other problem was just how much damage he did and how little health I had (The joy of every attack being a OHK). There was also how I had to override my own instincts and not run under him/behind him due to how his downwards close range goes back further than it does forwards, and because that tail attack I just could never dodge it. Still loved the fight, best dragon fight since Sinh the slumbering dragon in my opinion (Although I prefer Sinh)
Nat Grant-Haysey Did you try dodging back instead of forward?
For which attack? If your talking about the tail I always dodged sideways (and failed), if your talking about his firebreath I learned to run away from his head.
I feel like complaining that the camera was screwy when you only play locked on is kinda your own fault, tbh. This fight is monumentally easier once you start playing unlocked.
I admit that, but as i say playing unlocked is really really difficult for me. As in Ludex Gundyr becomes a real challenge for me, and I died 3 times in a row to his attacks. I am not blaming the game for my lack of skill playing unlocked, I am just giving an example of how my playstyle and strategy made this boss harder for me personally.
Sorry if you thought I was blaming the game and not myself.
really? i had no trouble because there were at least 10 messages in front of that statue

9:15 slam dunk!
This was incredibly satisfying
That was absolutely beautiful. I almost shed a tear.
The head should of been chopped off, cause that was an awesome finishing move.
2:48 I love how this guy's reaction was exactly the same as mine the first time. You get the first hit on the boss and looking at the health bar you think "There's no fucking way..."
we.......love.......to........see.........they........suffer!!
Easily one of if not the best boss in the series
TheAstrobiologistGamer Finally someone else understands!
Easily became my favorite in the series. Artorias holds a strong second for me but this boss ohhh this boss easily takes number one. The music is a masterpiece it fits him perfectly. Such a well made boss.
Transgender Airbender i love the rythm of this fight and laugh when people complain that he breathes fire under him even though it should teach them to go for the head
Transgender Airbender I find that a lot of people make this boss way more annoying than it actually is. Even the people that I see as pros can't seem to understand the simple strategy of dodging backwards.
Suwat Saksri I've found that a lot of camera problems in the souls games are mostly caused by the players.
In my opinion, this is the hardest boss in Dark Souls 3...
The hardest boss in the souls series*
Personally I'm better at big bosses so for me Gael and Blackfire Friede are hell. Friede because I use a great axe and she is fast af
I found the fight with him easy, same thing with Gael. But the Orphan of Kos, that thing still makes me shutter in anger and fear just from saying it's name.
@@Noname-om3pp ymfah did a BL4 run. 479 times for OOK. I haven't played Bloodborne (yet!), but it seems as if he hasn't encountered any other boss as strong as him. So, I'd say so too. That man is a legend
@@szarekhthesilentking7043 No sane man can achieve what he achieved. Pure insanity was his only drive of will to slaughter his prey.
8:55 that shit can make a grown man cry
Fun Fact: You fight Midir in the chamber where the First Flame appeared. If you compare the DS1 opening to the Midir boss room, you can see that they're the same.
Shield attack? Was he serious? Against a dragon? God, that deserves a slow clap.
I was using the Shield of Want for a long time, which has weapon skill, and Dragonslayer Greataxe's weapon art to his face was doing good damage. BUT I had just switched to the Dragon Crest Shield, so instead of a sweet weapon art I ended up trying to parry Midir's face LMAO.
Or the guy who tried defeating a dragon by kicking it in the face!
I'm pretty sure he meant a shield that lets you use your weapon art.
That feeling when the laser hits u for the first time....I'll never forget it
Can we just give an honorable mention to Rep Talian and his nonchalance over Midir's Beam of Death? At 4:38 as he sees the beam, he just goes "That's very bad" and immediately after he dies, he just goes "That is incredibly bad". I don't know why but it cracks me up the casual way he says it and I love it for some odd reason xD

4:03 "kick the dragon"
Don't kick the goddam dragon!
Ik I’m late, but nice Kyle & Ike reference.
As a pyromancer I can’t see myself defeating him any time soon
I think the reactions soften up cause if the players are at Ringed City Midir, that means they've git'n gud to get all the way here, which makes them have a tamer temper. I feel like if they're the type to rage and cry at the difficulty of anything dark souls throw at them they'd have rage quit a long time ago...
Nah, I rage even now and completely blame the game, although I calm down 5 min later.
i ng+7&up'd the game many times and pontiff still pisses me off.
This is some grade A editing, timing perfectly to switch when they get engulfed by fire/dragon attack. Beautiful...
The editing on this video is fantastic. Some of the transitions were so seamless I didn't realize the footage had switched to another LPer until I heard their voice.
Pain train has no breaks!
It does have breaks. And they're called your will to live.
imagine using a dark magic/miracles build and reaching Midir for the first time... yeah, the beating still hurts...
One of the greatest bosses of the whole series, once you learn how to fight him it's amazing
that is some tight ass editing, I love how you were able to mix the different playthroughts
Great video, love seeing how others interpret boss battles and it also gives me more strategies to use with different build set-ups. all around great content.

"Turn around, he's gonna come back!"
"No, he's no--- oh he's coming back"
Took like a 4 day break because he was beating my ass and then finally beat him in a few tries. He was so damn exhausting that I needed a break. For me, he’s an endurance fight.
The edits in these are beautiful!
You seriously deserve more subscribers, your videos are well put-together and great to watch. Keep it up :)
Now I'm hyped to see Gael. That boss definitely was my favourite. It took me multiples try to beat that slave knight, but oh boy I loved each an every part of it.
I have to say though, curiously what I found the hardest against Gael was actually the first phase. The second gives huge opening with his sword slash followed by cape attack, and the third phase was more running out of the lightnings and then proceed with the same tactic as phase 2.
Midir is an amazing boss, but it just isn't as badass as Gael IMO. That atmosphere is the best.
ShinGetsu Gael is by far the coolest and hardest boss I have fought (especially in my soul level 1 run.... god.... It took me 2 hours to beat him.... yet I was not even tired of trying !!! lol)

The series could not end without a dragon boss in its last chapter, a such emblematic dark souls enemy. And they did it with perfection. Midir himself is awesome, the fight is breathtaking and the atmosphere created by the music/arena is mesmerizing.

Admittedly i did die many times on this boss, hence you hust need to git gud then nothing can stop you
Chris Chow meh midir just has bad boss design, the majority of the fight is spent chasing him rather than dodging or attacking yourself and with his outrageously high hp even on NG the fight drags on for far too long and just becomes a chore.

Favorite boss in the souls series for me. The music and presentation is amazing. I didnt get to this dlc until NG+4 so Midir felt every bit as strong as he did in this video.
i loved the boss, and it's so epic and for me the best dragon boss ever, but this son of a bitch made me use 120 embers. Finally i fought a real epic elder dragon, it's strange but when i fought him in a ng i did it in the first try lol
