Yknow, I know a lot of lore about this but I aint gonna say shit, pretty good joke
Its a stormdrake
So many enemies in dark souls seemingly attack you mindlessly.
The nameless king looks directly at you, and challenges you.
Its so amazing.
pontiff too.
Abyss watchers too

Roll spammers everywhere. Nameless king was built to counter that
Almost every boss counters roll spamming
DDM Gamer what bosses? The only ones that punish roll spamming are Pontiff, nameless king and Gael Imo.
Roll spammers with heavy equipment load
I watch in 144P I mean they weren’t Fat rolling.
The Medium roll is still ok.
@@Antichupius Dancer too.

How was the guy supposed to know the cloud was "jump-onable"
I believe he had an english guide book and read up to that part.
VG Demon that made me cringe lol
Giant Dad Pretty sure he knows that's not a real word.
VG Demon he's primarily a madden player
Giant Dad saying "not to be racist" then immediately saying the most racist thing you possibly can doesn't do anything but make you look really stupid. Guess your IQ is under 85?
"He gives you no time". I feel like it's the exact opposite, he gives you plenty of time, but his attacks have such extreme delays to them that you actually have to read his moves instead of dodging on impulse. This boss was intense because he forces you to stay calm (his giant health pool gives you plenty of time to be reminded of that).
At 7000 hp his healthpool isn't giant. Play perfectly and his hp is down to 0 in 2 minutes
@@farrel_ra no. His healthbar is comparable to the twin princes & soul of cinder. On top of that every dlc boss has higher hp than nameless king

You're doing it wrong if he catches you in roll. He never caught me.
Hitting you mid swig of Estus and Roll Catching are probably this dude's #1 strength. He's like Fume Knight where he kinda seems to know when you are gonna drink,
he is pretty good at roll catches but like every boss you can learn how to deal with it
josefsieffen18 You mean he never catches you anymore? Admit it, the first few times you had to make adjustments to his 2-3 hit rollcatching combo's. I had the same "issue" but i adapted, now the fight is trivial even on NG+7.
Giant Dad Well yeah that's what I meant, but like every attack in this game that isn't an AOE, you can roll through it. It's all about timing.
7:09 You're gonna resurrect the dragon?
7:10 *Fucking kills the dragon*
Well that's one step towards Resurrection.
It's like PETA.
More like take his power and that's not a dragon. Mayby fenix?
It's a wyvern. And the guy said "dragon" that's why I spelled it that way. And if he only takes his power, where the fuck is the wyvern? Gone, dead.
Kurosaki Ichigo although it's not confirmed a lot if theories say that the wyvern is actually Ornstein which explains why you find his armor after defeating the nameless king
Nameless King wasn't a painful or frustrating boss, he was a true lesson for us all new players that roll spammed on bosses.
Indeed.
Granted he r1 spams alot
Roll spamming him is okay just do it left and expect him to delay and not delay attacks
General_Lagarto idk man King of the storm was pretty fucking painful
LegendOfSonic ehhh he’s not to bad the only one that’s bad damage wise is the falling fire when it hits twice but every time the drake takes of just run the other way
“Let me take my two hits, not get greedy.” Right mindset, bad performance.
When he said that I was thinking "How you gonna do that if you have no stamina from rolling so much?!"

Jackson Smith he did ask before he stabbed it.
He wants to absorb his power
If father ariandel can revive friede by smashing a pot on the ground the nameless king can do the same

Yep same here, but it felt awesome when I finally killed him, I almost hugged my gf to death 😂
Got to know about archdragon peak in Ng+7, I got happy because I found more content then immediately cried
If you’re still stuck or ever plan on going back, bring a crossbow like Alvelen (I think that’s how it’s spelt) or Gael’s repeating crossbow if you have the DLC, and just stay back. Tbh if you kill him once you can kill him again with ease. He doesn’t power up much on subsequent NG+s.
Do you see it? Do you see the difficulty in this boss? Do you know why 90% of all souls players struggle so badly with him?
You can't spam the roll button.
K&AGamers he plays like a ds2 boss in my opinion .
He's like an easier phase 2 Fume Knight imo. Thats the guy I think is the best comparison.
Fume isn't even that hard. Very predictable
Mr. Boom DS2's adaptability attribute would like to have a word with you. Even if you can predict his attacks, it's a whole nother metagame of finding out which way to dodge and how far you have to be to avoid the heaviest UGS in the game.
Mr. Boom well I died more at fume than nameless sooooo that's just you.
Little advice on the nameless king fight:
- always dodge to his left, never step back cause he has a raaaaannnnnnnnnge.
- never land more than one hit, otherwise you’ll get punished hard,
- never Estus if there is more than a 10 feet between you two, because he will launch a thrust attack that will hit you before you can finish healing,
- git gud.
CBT7commender also, locking on King of the Storm is actually better, all you need to do is keep your distance and go only for the head, no legs.

Rachel Jones it took me a day and a half on my first try, literally like 50 tries at least. He taught me to reeaaaally time my rolls.

7:00 I actually think this is a really sad moment. There seems to be a lot more going on than most people realize. Here we have Gwyn’s first born, exiled from his holy status after becoming a dragon king, who only wants to help the dragons being forced to kill one who has served him well. What I believe is implied is that he understands that he cannot beat the chosen undead without gaining his power, and so he feels he must gain his friend’s power at the cost of its life (similar to Ornstein and Smough) or perhaps it is just a tradition for lords to do so when their partner in battle has been mortally wounded. Either way, the moment is very somber and morose. The nature in which he places his hand on the beast, and how violently his weapon shakes just before plunging into its head. Very sad indeed.

The Nameless King is my favorite character in Dark Souls. In the cutscene between phase one and two, you can see that he physically displays emotion in two ways.
1: he places his hand on the dragon’s horn in a final way to say, “I love you.” This is one of the kindest things I have ever seen a character in Dark Souls do.
2: his hand quivers right before he teleports his dragon away. He is stricken with grief at the death of his best friend. Then he gets mad and attacks you.
The Nameless King is one of the best characters in Dark Souls and beyond.
Rest In Peace Nameless King. You were my favorite character in any game ever.
To be honest he’s on another level then Aldrich he could fly in to anor Londo and say what up alb*tch and take it back for himself
Also doesn’t the feet of the statue of the warrior of sunlight match his, make sense why the statue is destroyed in lothric (lordran) of all places.
@@thotslayer9922 I mean technically for us the players he is on another level than Aldrich. But I am not really sure if he is stronger canonically
@@doominator-rw2fu He inherited Gwyn's power and he used to be the king of Anor Londo.Contrary to popular belief Gwyn didn't exile him as he was long dead by that time. So yeah the Nameless King would wreck Aldritch's shit.

It took me 3 tries on my first playthrough, but I’d already figured out (for the most part) not to rollspam. This guy makes sure you’re playing dark souls 3 and not any of the others. It’s also likely why I didn’t see Sekiro as too difficult, because I was parrying instead of dodging.

Reactions I'm looking forwards to next:
Soul of Cinder
- People realising he is mimicking player abilities.
- Kamehameha (soul stream).
- The backflip.
- The five attack combo.
- Recognizing Gwyn's theme and moveset.
- "Gwyn" can finally use lightning (in DS1 fight he never used lightning. It was something the developers did plan on doing at one point.).
Sister Friede
- People getting rekt.
- "You have to fight them both?!"
- Bankai, Blackflame Friede.
Demon Prince
- Realising how much health the boss has.
- Everyone was spoiled, but I can still have hope: Seeing the Demon Prince form for the first time (the second phase is just the other Demon staying in the fired up form forever).
- Lasers/Homing Fireballs for everyone!
- Realising it's DS1's Firelink Shrine. I know it's unrelated to the boss fight, so it won't happen, but still.
Darkeater Midir
- People getting rekt.
- That damage, especially when compared to the damage the player deals.
- Godzilla lasers.
- A full on laser show.
Spear of the Church
- Hopefully one of them gets a very unique invader.
Slave Knight Gael
- People getting rekt.
- Realising it's indeed Gael.
- The second form.
- Realising he is using a modified version of his actual moveset.
- Lightning and flips everywhere.
High Voltage, Darkeater Midir
- People getting rekt.
- People getting rekt, while being shocked by his healthbar.
- People getting rekt by his tail.
- People getting rekt by fire.
- People getting rekt by laser.
- People getting rekt by his AOE.
- People getting rekt by his laser show.
- People getting rekt, when they decide to summon and they think, that other people will make fight easier.
Also, what boss from DS 3 do you consider to be the hardest?
I'd honestly go with Gael. While Sister Friede has fast combos and a few tricky combo modifiers, Gael on the other hand constantly makes you pay attention to how exactly you dodge his attacks. That cape of his makes his otherwise easy to read moveset misleadingly difficult to deal with. Plus that crossbow retaliation of his will screw with those who try a no damage challenge.
From main game I'd go with Pontiff Sulyvahn. His combos are an interesting mix of stop and go with alarmingly fast slashes, and that clone of his can create dead zones. While Champion Gundyr's combos can fluidly jump into retaliations, he still doesn't have anything as panic inducing as a clone that can start a combo while phasing through the main boss.
And if we're discussing pure No Damage challenge:
Deacons of the Deep. It's a pure RNG boss fight with over 30 separate enemies at once. It's a nightmare to do without taking any damage, especially if you decide to use an actually challenging weapon, like a goddamn pickaxe. I wonder if a torch challenge is even possible on NG+7 considering his high fire damage defense...
Also no, I'm not sure if Midir deserves a spot even in the top 10 list of the game's hardest bosses. While it is a hard boss when the player is still new to the boss, once you learn its moveset it becomes strikingly easy. Midir's difficulty lies in the surprise factor, instead of the fight in general.
You forgot Gael's weaponized soapstone.
don't forget Gael is basically Guts from Berserk, if you see how his big sword and using crossbow as his 2nd weapon, and his cape literally just looks same like Guts has..
High Voltage, not even top 10? Thats a bit much. If you learn boss enough, anyone could be "strikingly easy", but on the first encounter Midir is horrific. Not only he has high damage/health, but his attacks are hiting everywhere, roll is not always a solution, shield and armor are fucking useless, and his laser show on phase 2 is still giving me nightmares. Also, he is absolute number one ganker spanker. I dont know any other boss in Soulsborne series, that could rekt host and all his phantoms so easily. Maybe he is not the hardest in solo, but he is definitely hardest in coop. I was helping all my friends to beat him, and it was nightmare. He becomes completely unpredictable, he constantly changes targets, and his healthbar is even bigger. Even his cheese is allowed only to intellect builds. I can agree with him not being number one, but he still deserves at least some spot in top 10.
Its crazy going back and noticing how much the nameless king and ornstein are really alike. The move to absorb power. Both having spears. That spear stab move then while youre on the spear they electrocute you with it. Its so cool, they are besties afterall

Watching this now after beating the game a few times I'm like, "No, no, noooooo. You're rolling the wrong way! Don't go there! Watch out for the follow up!" Ahhh, it's great.
I think everyone on their first encounter with the nameless king died in under a minute. Everybody, just because of his surprising speed, his near unsurpassed gap closing skill and his insane damage (Both stamina and physical). His use of delays means you have to adjust from normal bosses
I remember that my first successful fight against him was after a flawless unembered dragon kill. It still took all my 15 estus and was one hit away from death and he was literally mid swing when I made the hit when I won on my 32nd try. It's for this reason he is my second favourite boss fight in the game as he poses the greatest challenge in the base game, and some of the best experiences in the game.
Believe me or not, but the first time I fought him, I got to his second phase then died trying to chug. And that's the farthest I got without **covers face in shame** summoning.
Don't be ashamed to summon for the nameless king, he is a really difficult fight. But yeah trying to chug during the nameless king is a really difficult task.
I find most bosses in Dark Souls 3 are easier when solo. Take Midir for example, his attacks are a lot more predictable and easier to dodge when fighting him solo.
Yeah...Chugging during King of the Storm is no big deal. Nameless King himself doesn't let you chug for shit though. Also, like Midir, Gaping Dragon was much tougher with summons too. Stupid Solaire dies 30 seconds into the fight and leaves you with a beefed up crocodile.
I beat him with my second try, that was the most exciting fight ever (Maybe with a little bit of luck :P).
Those reactions at the end is what the games are all about aside from the story amd lore. The feeling of accomplishment
I love how the lightning swings have corners like a polygon.
"Possibly" Gwyn's firstborn.
Bitch, it IS Gwyn's firstborn.
SlothfulCynic but we dont know that
Zachary small We do it's confirmed
Guy rides dragon, which, the 1st born befriends dragons

GingerBreadMan1178 along with the item description
Solaire will always be the true firstborn ;'(
7:30 summed it up perfectly, everyone can go home
I always appreciate Bricky for knowing the lore going in
“He hit so damn hard” sir your wearing Fallen Knight Armor if your going to fight nameless and you aren’t confident in your dodging ability than rock some heavier armor or a Lothric Knight Shield
I always wear the fallen knight set, even in the DLC against Gael.
@@starhammer5247 Just had my first playthrough last week, I did the same. I feel it's rarely the damage that matters, but instead it's learning the fight. It's the way most broken straight sword/level 1 runs happen. The challenge is learning the fight, not your health or resource pool.
Why does everyone use Fallen Knight Armour?
@@adrienflood1836 cuz it looks cool and edgy
@@aryamanmalhotra842 Yeah, I used it myself, but I always thought I would be one of a few. I was so wrong 😂
Damn! Perfect editing! The best was the cut at 13:46!
H O W I S F O G W A L K - O N A B L E .
I remember beating him at 3am after countless strats and play styles. Had 0 estus left and was a 1 hit, saying I was relieved was an understatement
I've beaten this boss so many times I was watching it saying "Roll, roll, hit, roll"
"Now if you hit him enough he'll stagger and you can reposte his ass"
0:58 "this fog is jumponable" lmao
*Now the real fight begins*
i like this kind of videos because you see how the players go from getting destroyed in mere seconds to learning the boss moves and eventually beating it
0:52 is there a word in the dictionary "jumponable" lol
Yes, it is
13:47 DEYM DAT TRANSITION THO!
"Yolo I'm trading!"
2 seconds later: OOOOOHHHHH
So basically Nameless King is a grimdark version of Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon.
Well yes but actually....... *YES*
But on very high steroids
The editing on this is great.
Phase 1: hey look, that's a cool looking boss!
Phase 2: this boss is hard! Gotta take a minute to memorise his attacks..
Phase 3: FUCK THIS BOSS! FUCK THIS GAME! FUCK MY LIFE!
Phase 4: Profit?
Pretty much how my experience with Fume Knight went. Nameless King too to a degree.
I almost had a aneurysm with mine, we killed each other and for a moment I thought I had to kill him again until I saw I got his soul, I swear, nameless king obligated me to learn how to abuse roll I.frames
You know, the tutorial boss was actually pretty easy.
Well... years of rage complations, never thought I'd find a Dark Souls CHILL complation.
I like how the nameless king was designed to counter roll-spammers
