Absolutely, the worse thing anyone can do is disrespect you, and speaking for myself, personally I have a very low tolerance for it , I can deal with most things but disrespect is definitely not one of them , you can hate me, love me or just like me, but nobody gets to disrespect me , once you violate me , I’M DONE, nothing more to talk about, and will you be missed? Rickey, I agree with you 10000%. I'm ole school and cane up in a different era. You were taught to be respectful from the time you could walk and talk, at home and at school. These new parents today don't even teach their children to respect their elders, they use fowl language in front of and to their elders. The level of home training that we had has almost disappeared.

I agree 1000% about respecting I have a 47 year old niece that comes in my house and won’t even speak, then she has the Nerve to tell my sister that doesn’t even live in the town we live in and tells her me and my other sister disrespect her, and we have done everything for her and her daughter and my sister that lives out of town has done nothing she is also the aunt , now how disrespectful is that

I thank you Rickey for how you broke this down & for posting this - I shared this with my teenage son - which gives him confirmation as to what he has been taught since he was small
One of the biggest reasons why our youth is not where we elders would want them to be socially today.Disrespect. Our parents taught us to respect all older people. If an elder said something wrong or inappropriate to you it wasn't your place to curse at them, or even correct them. We had to tell our parents and they dealt with it. But we never talked out of turn or openly disagreed with elders. If they saw us doing wrong they could verbally correct us we tucked our head and went ahead. And the next time we saw them we would speak hello Mr. Or Mrs. So and so. They would reply hi baby. There was no animosity as they were just trying to keep us safe and out of trouble. I miss those days. It's hard to hear children speak to older people in disrespectful tones and see the parents encourage it or even jump in and curse or fight the person just for trying to set the children straight.

Some ppls definition of respect is different from your definition. Some ppl think they can abuse you, especially family and feel they can but want you to basically bow down to them and accept their disrespect. AND their ego and pride that will not allow them to be accountable for their poor behaviors and disrespect. They will not apologize but expect you to apologize. Some ppl are just Insane!!!! Agree with you 💯. I was disrespected on social media and it hurt me to my core. I didn’t retaliate because I knew that would’ve made me just as foolish. My absence hurt way more and I didn’t have to act out of character to prove a point.
