For insight towards Rajang (monkey that dehorned the Kirin), he's the equivalent of a Honey Badger who woke up, chose violence, and fights god. He can go into turf wars against Elder Dragons, and will snap the horn again, so they make an effort to avoid him. That fact should tell you how one-sided all the other conflicts, with anything that isn't an Elder Dragon, are... Good news is that you can lure him to a Deviljho (the angry, hungry pickle) and watch King Kong vs. Godzilla.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Not gonna happen, Rajang can jaw punch Savage Deviljho into the floor, and that's NORMAL rajang not even Furious. Fun fact Rajang is capcom making a Super Saiyan reference.
I describe Rajang to people that don’t know it as “A monkey with horns, knows hyper beam, can go super saiyan, and chooses violence whenever it sees something breathing”
So the reason why some creatures look similar to one another is because some of them are subspecies to another monster. So you have things like Rathian and then pink rathian. They are the same monster usually just tougher to beat and has some new attacks or element to add to the mix. This also the reason why they will sometimes say that this monster is slightly different. They are talking usually about the other main monster.
i mean, rathalos and rathian are even the same species, just male and female. sexual dymorphysm is pretty common in monster hunter overall (for diablos the 'subspecies' for it is literally just a female in heat, yes, it is objectively more powerful)
@@spacemanchaos I can’t really give a good answer to this since I haven’t actually seen the video. From the title alone, I don’t know if it would be entertaining enough. However, with it being here means that it could be a possibility. If someone who as actually seen the video want to give some info maybe that would be nice.
Fatalis is such an awesome and terrifying creature. Some terrifying facts about him: Fatalis destroyed the kingdom of Schrade in a single night He has an aura that makes every living thing fear him (including other black dragons) During the fight, he has a super move where he breathes fire over the entire arena and you have to throw up a giant barrier to stop it, and the fire just melts the barrier like butter It’s said that Fatalis can regenerate from a single scale Anyone who wears the armor of Fatalis is said to be driven mad and eventually become Fatalis themselves Fatalis melts the bodies of fallen hunters onto his chest, which hardens and becomes his armor Hope you sleep well knowing this 😊
also another piece of info. A bit unofficial but that you could deduce from official things Fatalis is evolved enough to be capable of sentience and great intelligence, and thus he could be self aware of what he does it's an atrocity , but doesn't care at all. As he could be aware of his own existence Fatalis should be capable of having complex emotions like Humans. He could probably feel things like guilt and care for other things, but he simply chooses to hate everything that moves without mercy specially humans. He is intelligent enough to decide to go against its own biology and decide to stand on his back legs as mockery of humans, literally making impossible to reach its head which is his weak spot.
SrLópez A lot of, if not all, monsters in Monster Hunter have sentience. While some ecology videos hint towards this in the main series, Stories outright confirms it with monsties having a wide range of emotions as well as the wanting to protect their riders. What sets Fatalis apart is sapience. Human-level intelligence. It is potentially capable of abstract thought, which is why it is commonly depicted as "evil." Using the dubiously canon Great Dragon War as a basis, Fatalis is shown to harbor vengeance against humanity and wishes the extinction of humans and human-like lifeforms as a whole. If any iota of that is true in the series proper, then Fatalis would basically have confirmed sapience and would be undeniably - at least from a human perspective - evil.
Barioth's cutscene is actually interesting cause it's stated to keep it's eyes squinted due to the harsh sun glinting off the snow. If you see the intro cutscene at night, it's eyes are wide open. *And it is intimidating!*
Fun fact about Fatalis: The ancient civilization’s survivors were so terrified of it after it destroyed Castle Schrade that they burned almost every single piece of literature that even mentioned Fatalis, making lots of it’s true ecology unknown. The only thing that really remains of Fatalis information wise is the “Song of Fatalis”, a children’s rhyme.
Timestamps and info 2:09 Beotodus, Piscine Wyvern. It’s a blue fish with legs and a fancy horn on its head. It swims through the snow and hunts Popo (lil trunkless mammoth guys). 3:19 Banbaro, Brute Wyvern. A big trex shaped creature with moose antlers, lil hands, and lots of fur. They can use their horns to lift trees or boulders and hurl them. They eat plants and like to drink hot spring water. Very big. 4:16 Viper Tobi Kadachi, Fanged Wyvern, Subspecies. A close relative to the more common Tobi Kadachi. Instead of generating and weaponizing electricity, Viper here can shoot quills that cause paralysis and poison. It’s also much more aggressive. Subspecies are creatures designated as the same animal but different in some way. Picture an African Elephant and an Indian Elephant. Notably different but still both elephants. 5:33 Nightshade Paolumu, Flying Wyvern, Subspecies. Unlike its pink relative, Nightshade can produce a sleepy gas that makes things pass out. It is also more aggressive than the more common species. 6:28 Coral Pukei-Pukei, Bird Wyvern, Subspecies. Unlike its green cousin, Coral ingests large amounts of water and watermoss rather than mushrooms and nuts. It can’t produce poison, but it can blast water from its tail and mouth like a hose. I can even use its tongue to split the beam of water from its mouth, creating two beams for more area coverage. Also very pretty. 7:16 Barioth, Flying Wyvern. This monster can breathe out a blast of ice from its mouth along with spitting up small icy tornadoes. Its wings and forelimbs are covered in modified scales to give it traction, allowing it to freely run across ice. It also has big fangs for killing things. Unlike the upcoming Nargacuga and Tigrex, Barioth is a proficient flyer. 8:06 Tigrex, Flying Wyvern. Tigrex are nomadic creatures, travelling area to area, though they prefer deserts and hot regions. Tigrex are extremely strong and brutal, running things down with unparalleled stamina. Their powerful jaws can easily snap through any bone. Tigrex can pump them selves with so much adrenaline that they can ignore pain like a broken limb and just keep running. The Tigrex here is seen killing a Radobaan by catching its roll and biting onto the neck, suffocating it. This is similar to how tigers hunt. Due to its lifestyle, it lost the ability to properly fly. 9:43 Nargacuga, Flying Wyvern. Nargacuga is extremely fast and stealthy. Their wings are bladed and sharp and their tails can shoot out sharp quills in rapid succession. It can also stretch slightly to slap people with. Nargacuga is unfortunately incapable of powered flight. It’s a panther dragon. 11:07 Glavenus, Brute Wyvern. Glavenus is a big dinosaur that constantly grows blue ore-like scales on its body. By scraping its tail against the ground or in its jaws like a whetstone, Glavenus can both sharpen and ignite its blade tail like a flaming hot sword. Glavenus has blue armour on its face to prevent sparks from hurting its eyes and facial attacks, and its back is covered in an elaborate pattern of ore-like armour to protect from attacks from other Glavenus. When Glavenus shreds its tail through its mouth, it catches any scraps or bits of scales and stores them in a throat pouch to later spit at opponents or prey as an explosive loogie. 13:16 Brachydios, Brute Wyvern. Brachydios is covered in a natural shell similar to obsidian. It grows and farms a slime mould on its head and arms. Brachy does actually have hands, the pounders on each arm are like very long brass knuckles that grow from the middle knuckle, made to punch things. The slime mould Brachy has shares a symbiotic relationship with it. When the mould is on Brachy, it stays calm and is green. Once Brachydios licks its hands and rubs its head though, it’s saliva acts as a primer for the mould to prepare for reproduction. The mould violently explodes in an attempt to spread its spores. When Brachy punches other monsters or the ground, some of the mould sticks and has a delayed explosion. If he throws a punch hard enough, the slime detonates on impact. The mould gets an easy way to move around and spread and Brachydios gets a strong weapon to kill things with. 15:56 Shrieking Legiana, Flying Wyvern, Variant. Shrieking Legiana is a Legiana with more openings for ice to shoot out of its wings. It’s presumed this is a Legiana that has spent more time in the Hoarfrost Reach, resulting in this change. It may call upon another Legiana to assist it in combat. Variants are monsters of a species that have gone through some kind of change. This usually results in the monster getting stronger in some way. 17:32 Ebony Odogaron, Fanged Wyvern, Subspecies. This relative of the red Odogaron is a much more aggressive Hunter and generates Dragon Element (an element that can take the form of smoke, electricity, or lasers.) Ebony is ridiculously aggressive and wanders a much wider range of locations. It may sometimes carry around a piece of meat with it to feed on or alternatively charge it up with Dragon Element before spitting at you. Ebony may also try to regurgitate previous meals for the same purpose. 18:27 Acidic Glavenus, Brute Wyvern, Subspecies. Acidic G cannot light it’s tail ablaze like its cousin. Instead it grows toxic green crystals on its tail that can break down armour or defences of opponents and prey. (It applies Defence Down Debuff.) When it has weakened the enemy, it will cleave off all the crystals on its tail with its jaws to sharpen its tail. Unlike normal Glavenus, Acidic’s tail acts more like a katana, the lessened weight giving it a speed boost along with it being overall sharper. Acidic Glavenus is surprisingly nimble for its size. 20:06 Velkhana, Elder Dragon. Mascot of Iceborne. Velkhana is a mysterious and rare Elder Dragon with the ability to generate ice. It can either create crystals to hit you or form body armour for itself. It even can create a spear of ice for its tail to stab things with. Fairly intelligent, very pretty. 20:35 the pixie dust is actually the Hunter’s Scout Flies. These flies help track monsters. If they’re green, they’re tracking a normal average Large Monster. If they turn blue, they realize they’re in the presence of an Elder Dragon. When they turn red, they sense danger and quickly disperse. The Hunter keeps a lamp on them which keeps the flies close by and easier to collect. 21:25 Blackveil Vaal Hazak, Elder Dragon, Subspecies. Unlike other Vaal Hazak, Blackveil’s flesh clothes are covered in a fungus that grows all over it. This fungus helps it more easily spread Effluvium, a microscopic flesh eating bacteria that all Vaal Hazak control and manipulate. Blackveil can spread and create more Effluvium and can also leave the Rotten Vale, making it more dangerous. 22:16 Namielle, Elder Dragon. A big dragon that looks like a hybrid of toms of different underwater creatures. It can blast water out of its mouth and is covered in a water armour. It can also generate electricity to fry you while you’re wet. Very cool, like their fight. 22:58 Seething Bazelgeuse, Flying Wyvern, Variant. You didn’t actually see Bazelgeuse last time because he was a secret monster with no intro. Bazelgeuse grow scales under their chins and tails that they can drop off like bombs that explode. They can carpet bomb things, basically. Seething Bazelgeuse is a much older Bazelgeuse that travels less but has much stronger explosives. 24:57 Ruiner Nergigante, Elder Dragon, Variant. Ruiner is a Nergigante covered in muuuuch stronger spikes. Its main purpose is to track down threats to the ecosystem, like any big time Elder Dragons that may tamper with the Everstream and balance of nature. Extremely aggressive, very durable, spikes galore. 27:48 Shara Ishvalda, Elder Dragon. A monster that can somehow control earth and form a fake body around itself. I wonder what it looks like underneath? ;) 28:01 Yian Garuga, Bird Wyvern. A hyper agreesive territorial psychopath chicken. Yian Garuga can spit fireballs and release a hellish scream. Yian Garuga have excellent hearing and ears that can rotate in a wide range of directions. These guys will fight nearly anything, most of the time they can be found with bodily scars and missing body parts like ears. Also their tail is extremely venomous. We see Garuga fight off a Deviljho here, a monster tough enough to bring down some Elder Dragons. 31:50 Zinogre, Fanged Wyvern. Zinogre is a giant reptilian wolf monster with a symbiotic relationship with Thunderbugs. These insects next in Zinogre’s back fur and spikes. These spikes on its back act like hives. The bugs get a safe place to live and in return, Zinogre can use its howl to call upon them to fight for it or absorb some of their electricity to powerboost itself. Super cool monster, can also kinda go super saiyan.
Most of the monsters in World existed in the previous games. The second to last, Alatreon is a elder dragon from previous games, he switches between using fire, ice, and dragon elements. Fatalis also from previous games is a elder dragon that just uses fire and dragon elements, and physically hits the hardest of all monsters in World. Fatalis is known as the bringer of the end times, basically he's a living apocalypse in the Monster Hunter universe. Alatreon kinda is too, but not as grand a scale as Fatalis iirc
27:44 say hello the final boss of the main story for Monster Hunter World, Shara Ishvalda. The rock form you two saw in the cutscene was a shell it’s wearing and as the fight goes on, it gets rid of the rocks to reveal its true form. Fun fact about Shara Ishvalda, when it reaches its true form, if you notice during the fight, it’s not looking at your character, it’s looking at you the player, like it knows the truth that this is just a game.
@@Nefusk4n I think it's... okay. Not quite as good as Ahtal-Ka though, which is easily the best final boss in all of MH. Not that there's much competition, final bosses in MH are usually rather lackluster in terms of combat.
The monster that “bit” its tail is Glavenus, a Brute Wyvern that uses its tail like a sword, sharpening it with its teeth when it grows dull after being superheated. One of my all time favorite monsters of the franchise :) As for Fatalis, he’s the most feared monster in all of Monster Hunter, a Black Dragon that singlehandedly laid waste to an entire kingdom out of vengeance
28:01 Honestly the Yian Garuga is one of the most berserk monsters because the term 'run away' never applies to it, even against a calamity like that Deviljho. Poison tail, defeaning screech, a beak that can pierce the earth like a cannon, and the fact that it gets stronger even it comes out damaged from a fight. The variant of it is a Scarred Yian Garuda, which is just one that managed to survived a lot of fights while looking like shit, is the strongest version of this fearless berserk creature.
The green "ferry dust" are Scout flies, basically an intelligent swarm of Glowing Bugs that can detect stuff like monster tracks. You will notice all the Hunter have a green glowing thing on their belt. That thing houses the Scout Flies.
Scout flies were the best thing to be added to this game franchise. Bc I stopped playing for ten years and the last game I played was Freedom Unite two. Tracking the monsters was the biggest pain in the ass for that game. Bc you had to tag them with a paint ball if you didn't want to lose them. Then you spend most of your time chasing them but if the paint ball wore off you were shit out of luck. But the new tracking system in both World and Rise make things so much easier.
@@furionmax7824 I agree, before the scout flies it wasn't even tracking... you just kept looking around and then used a paint ball to not lose them... you weren't a Monster Hunter as you were a Monster Searcher. With the scout flies it actually implemented looking for tracks and doing actual "hunting" instead of just looking around based on luck.
@@sam-psonsmith9951 and that's why I like it. World has a sort of realism to it. But they got rid of the hunting aspect in Rise. Don't get me wrong the tracking was charming and very necessary considering we are monster HUNTERS not SLAYERS. We track, we find, we kill, we carve. But in rise it's more like, we find, we kill, we go home. Kind of miss it but at the same time I don't?
@@furionmax7824 i think i get why you don't miss it, it was more realistic yea. something i value a lot in a game. But game play wise the tracking wasn't very fun either. so i get why they kinda scraped it. Yes immersive, but not really the fun part of the game, i think a lot of people didn't like it. They could have done a mix of both actually. Slaying quests, were the location of the monster is known, hence no need for tracking. And hunting quests in which you have to track it first, but you get a bit more time. Because the hunting quest just asks for a type of monster, not a specific individual.
Fatalis is the ultimate end monster, and the most feared in the Monster Hunter lore that I know of. Even monsters much larger than it will flee instead of trying to fight it.
Fun fact: the red dragon you saw in this reaction, is actually the blue alien looking dragon from the previous reaction, just, all grown up, and in-game at one point it starts to target the hunter/s, meaning that yes, it does remember you, and has ptsd, second fun fact: alatreon is one of the few dragons to control all in-game elements, and it's based on the i think it was chinese, legend of most dragons having a reverse scale that when touched pisses them off, and, since alatreon scales are purely reverse scales, he's perpetually fuckin' pissed
Honestly it’s a Gore and Shagaru Magala situation if you think about it, since you essentially hunted(story-wise) one only for it to later come back in a matured state. Though this may be spoiling a little for how the Xeno fight ends, but we where left with an ambiguous end prior to Safi’s release so it does fit that line of thought.
@@hugo-pg5tv We know that Safi'Jiiva is the adult form of Xeno'Jiiva. We don't know if it is the same individual we fight at the end of base World, but given how much the people dreaded Xeno'Jiivas pure existence it's possible.
Perfectly timed, I was just playing again MHW on PC. You two never cease to have perfect upload timing. Here’s some inside lore and ecology on some of these returning monsters for all the new hunters that will be joining us this summer (Monster Hunter Rise - the newest installment in the series is receiving an expansion). 8:05 Tigrex, nicknamed _The Roaring Dragon that Bears its Fangs_ is the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Freedom 2. Any monster that earns the title to “flagship” means their face is on the cover of the game box. Tigrex are capable of roaring at such a loud decibel level, that they can cause physical damage to any creature at close range. Often known for their ferocity and short tempers, their strategy in a hunt is just running into you and screaming. Lots and lots of screaming. 9:37 Nargacuga, the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Freedom. As I’m sure you’ve already noticed, it’s a cross between a dragon, a bat, and a panther. Nargacuga actually gave retractable spines hidden inside their tails, which they can fire with frightening precision. They’ve also got bladed wings, which in addition with the tail means lots of bleeding. The one here fighting Rathalos was likely trying to track down or return to its kill and happened to be tailed by a Rathalos wanting free food. 11:05 Glavenus, the Scorching Blade and one of the four flagship monsters of Monster Hunter Generations. My personal second favorite monster: he’s dinosaur with a massive blade for a tail, it’s capable of lighting it on fire by grinding it against any vaguely hard or metallic surface. To maintain their blades, they’ll often grind them between those four massive fangs on the front of its mouth, keeping their tails sharp and ash free. Any remaining cinders are stored within a special sack below its throat, allowing to also spew balls of molten fire. It’s a in series gag that Rathian’s often get jumped by Glavenus - with the poor Rathian ending up a dinosaurs whetstone. 13:05 Brachydios, the Bold Indigo and flagship of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. That green tint you see on his skin is actually slime mold, a real life organic substance that tends to like moist spaces. Brachydios will encourage this slime mold to grow on their bodes as hatchlings by picking it up and licking it, causing it to grow. However, because this is Monster Hunter - it isn’t normal slime mold. It exploded when removed from a Brachydios’ skin. So on top of getting punched with a massive pillar of obsidian dinosaur scales, he leaves you covered in the stuff - causing *you* to explode in a few seconds if you don’t get it off. On top of that, when they get angry the slime mold will no longer stick and straight up explode on contact with *anything.* 16:36 Here we have a regular Odogaron and an Ebony Odogaron. You remember the red weasel from the last video? Here’s his overactive, black and edgy cousin. It’s not uncommon for monsters to have two or three variations that they inherit due to their environment. This of it as the difference between a Bengal Tiger and a Siberian Tiger. Ebony Odogaron traded in their multiple sets of claws for a special organ that produces Dragon - the red lighting and smoke you see it constantly exhaling. Dragon is a capable of causing severe mental and physical distress to intelligent creatures. 18:07 Acidic Glavenus, a subspecies of Glavenus that has made its home on the Rotten Vale. The vale is a environment full of bones, rotten corpses, and poisonous bacteria. This Glavenus has traded its thicker tail for a thinner one, creating a swifter blade compared to its fire breathing topside cousins. Those crystals you see it biting off are actually acidic sulfur crystals it builds of as a result of the vale’s poor atmosphere. Getting hit by them means that it will burn, bad. However, these crystals continuously grow - like rabbits’ teeth, on top of that they weigh its tail down. So much like the regular Glavenus it maintains its tail blade regularly. 21:23 Here we have a special variation on the monster Vaal Hazaak: Blackveil Vaal Hazaak. That “air” you saw it manipulating is actually an exceedingly necrotic bacteria called Effluvium. It’s so dense that it’s visible, and Vaal Hazaak are one of the only species that can actually feed off of it. When the bacteria infects organic matter - it will slowly eat away at their flesh until there’s nothing left. Vaal Hazaak however seem to enjoy it, stealing the infected bacteria gestated by other monsters and using it as it’s own. This particular variant uses the Effluvium generated in plant life, specifically moss. As a result of it merging with the Effluvium, the moss has overgrown over its eyes a - causing it to be blind. 22:58 Ah, the Bazeguese. A roaming monster we like to nickname “The B-52”. Ken called it when he saw the debris coming from its tail. Bazelguese are capable of launching its scales from its body, which under the right conditions will violently explode. Bazelguese are exceedingly territorial, and will interrupt your hunt with another monster just because you’re too close. This particular Bazelguese has a special mutation that drastically increased the size of his detonations, he is Seething Bazelguese. 28:00 Here we have an old favorite of mine, the Yian Garuga. You know how Honey Badgers are ludicrously aggressive despite being so small? This is the Monster Hunter equivalent. There’s nothing a Yian Garuga won’t fight, even a Deviljho (the pickle you see it scuffle with here). Much like Tigrex, a Yian Garuga’s roars are exceedingly powerful - enough to cause pain at close proximity. On top of that, they have venomous spikes on their tail _and_ breath fire. Yian Garuga will sometimes end up scarred or dead because they constantly like to fight bigger monsters, yet 7 out of 10 - the Garuga wins just due to its overwhelmingly aggressive swagger. 31:40 Another personal favorite of mine, the Zinogre. It is a lighting wolf - a *lighting wolf.* He’s the flagship of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. Zinogre have a special symbiotic relationship with small insects called Thunderbugs. To us, they simply look like floating blue dots, but they’re actually a type of scarab. Thunderbugs are often prey to larger bird-like monsters, as their electric charge make themselves stand out like fireflies. So, a Zinogre will allow a colony of Thunderbugs to live in their fur and spines, and in trade for protection against bird monsters the bugs will generate electricity for the Zinogre to conduct through its fur. It’s not uncommon for a Zinogre to raise generations of bugs throughout its lifetime. 33:40 This is a Rajang, a massive Super Saiyan murder monkey that makes King Kong look like a stuffed animal in comparison. Extremely aggressive and frighteningly intelligent, only the strongest of monsters will fight a Rajang. When a Rajang reaches maturity, it will go out and hunt down a Kirin - the unicorn lions. It will then break off its horn and as you saw - and eat it. The horn then allows a Rajang to utilize its natural electric powers, using the horn as a natural stimulant to activate its lighting breath and punches. Everything will pay food taxes to a Rajang, as their strong enough to rag doll most monsters. 36:00 Safi’Jiiva: the Sapphire Emperor. Remember that weird blue dragon monster from the last intro video? He’s grown up, and he is right pissed with *you* for trying to kill him as an infant. By shedding its skin over a long period, and feeding off of her bioenergy given off by other monsters, he’s drastically sped up his natural growth time. Safi’Jiiva is about as “dragon” as Monster Hunter gets - as he can fire off massive streams of blue fire and pinpoint focus his flames to create devastating lasers. He is one of two monsters in the entire game (before you ask fellow hunters, I don’t count Behemoth) that can kill you *instantly* with his signature attack _Sapphire of the Emperor._ 37:20 Alatreon, one of the few Black Dragons in the franchise. Any monster that falls under this categorization is one that Capcom will refuse to give players any information on. No lore, no gameplay tips. They are apocalyptic in nature, and could theoretically wipe continents if left uncheck. Alatreon have a unique mutation that allow them to use all five elements: Fire, Water, Lighting, Ice, and Dragon. This mutation has made them extremely unstable, and borderline human in terms and intelligence. Alatreon seeks only the destruction of life, and almost seeks it - much like the last monster in our roster. 43:42 Fatalis: The Calamity. Fatalis is another monster to fall under the Black Dragon category. They are fully capable of wiping out entire civilizations with their flames, as you can see in the arena. It used to be fully populated, *used to be.* Fatalis actually had rather poor eyesight, meaning even though he can’t see you - he can smell and hear you with frighting accuracy. Fatalis have been known to kill hunters by welding them to their scales using their fire, merging the hunters own armor with its scales. Unlike Alatreon, Fatalis visibly seeks out humans to kill. It is said that by killing one and turning its scales into armor, one will be haunted by repeated nightmares of the dragon they’ve slain. Then one day the hunter that wore its scales disappears, and suddenly a new Fatalis is born consumed by the armor of the beats they’ve slain.
@@charlesglensworth8601 I’m only repeating my own experiences. Monster Hunter got me through middle school, and it’s been a part of my life ever since.
So to explain the floating monster I first gotta explain sub-species. Sub-Species are offshoots of monsters that are not only differently colored but possess different abilities but their general appearance is similar enough to another monster it's not an entirely different monster altogether. The Floating Monster is called Nightshade Paolumu it's the sub-species of Paolumu and is known for shooting out a sleeping gas. Now you might be thinking how is sleep useful in monster hunter? In monster hunter anything that's asleep take's double damage from attacks this is often used for strategies to put monsters to sleep and hit them with mega barrel bombs for large amounts of damage. The Rolling monster is Radobaan he was in the intros of World. What Glavenus did was resharpen it's tail, when the tail is heated it up eventually it'll cool but when this happens it essentially becomes dull. So the Glavenus will put it's blade tail in it's mouth and resharpen it's tail again. Brachydios is an extremely famous monster as it introduced the slime/blast element, the green stuff on it's arms and head is a special slime that explodes either after a certain amount of time or when Brachydios slams it's fists really hard at someone. Brachydios are extremely aggressive and are willing to pick fights with other monsters. As for Blast element technically it's existed since Teostra was introduced but it wasn't used as a player usable element till Brachydios. The monster with the moss on it's body is called Blackveil Vaal Hazak, it's a variant of Vaal Hazak. Variants are similar to sub-species in that they are a different species of the same monsters but Variants are rarer and possess unique abilities that make them more than just a sub-species. In the case of Blackveil it's covered in moss, this moss actually renders it blind but the substance from the moss allows it to 'sense' a person or monsters location. The water Elder Dragon is Namielle and is one of the more well designed monsters, and my most favorite Elder Dragon. You can't see it's body well in the intro but if you see some fights you'll notice how it's body bears many parts similar to deep sea fish. The reason why everything went 'dark' is because one of it's abilities was to emit an ink that was so pitch black it blots out the very sun. The big flying Wyvern is called Seething Bazlegeus, Bazelgeuse is a monster introduced in World and is a very infamous monster. Bazelgeuse is unique for a few things, one is it's ability to fly despite it's enormous size. No Flying Wyvern of that size is capable of flying because it's body is just too heavy for it's wings to support but Bazelgeuse can. One other unique feature and it's most prominent is it's scales, the scales can dislodge from it's body and possess an explosive liquid in the meaning they can explode these scales on it's tail and the underbelly of it's body and it drops them mid flight like a B-52 bomber which has earned them the nickname B-52 and Bagel. The scales have 3 states, inert, heated, and super heated, while inert the scales are black and don't do anything only exploding when physical force is applied to them, or when heated up by fire. Heated is when the scales turn red and after hitting the ground or wall will explode with more force than inert scales. Superheated is a level of heat that only applies to Seething Bazelgeuse, when super heated the scales will glow bright white/purple, when thrown the scales will turn purple swell up like a flower and explode with even more force than heated scales. Finally their most notorious and infamous part to them, Bazelgeuse are one of the most aggressive monsters in monster hunter to the point that they will actively seek out fighting monsters and divebomb into said fights to get a piece of the action. This has caused many hunts to become a desperate battle of survival as hunters will attempt to hunt their target while also avoiding Bazelgeuse's brutish nature. So the big green crocodile monster is called the Deviljho. Last Video I mentioned how Elder Dragons are the top of the food chain to the point that when one is seen all other monsters save other Elder Dragons run away? Well Deviljho is a monster that not only ignores this but is willing to challenge them. In fact it is one of the *FEW* monsters able to go toe-to-toe against them. Deviljho are Brute Wyverns and because of their skin tone they are more affectionately called by the community at large the 'Pickle' but don't let the name fool yeah. These guys are endlessly ravenous in their hunger and will eat and fight anything to satisfy it. Rajang is another monster that instead of running from an Elder Dragon will instead fight it. Rajang are the absolute strongest Fanged Beast type monsters. Rajang are incredibly powerful, the horn that it ripped from the unicorn, the Kirin, is incredibly difficult to break. Hunters can spend an entire hunt trying to break the horn and failing, but the Rajang's strength is powerful enough to just break it as it if was a twig, in fact Rajang are actually the *predator* of Kirin. Also the golden form it adopts is it's powered up form and since it's a monkey people have called it the 'Super Saiyan' The Blue Puppy, is the Zinogre and it is the the progenitor, not literally, of the Fanged Wyvern Classification. It was the first Fanged Wyvern ever made and the most famous as a result. Zinogre has a symbiotic relationship with Fulgur Bugs the bugs go to the Zinogre for protection and in return the Zinogre feeds off their electricity to change into it's super charged form which is similar to the Rajang's powered up form. I call it the 'Second Super Saiyan' as a result even though it's not a monkey. As for the hunter, you are a functional mute you never talk, in fact until monster hunter rise you have zero actual voice lines but apparently you are very facially expressive. As for the girl she's... again the community really doesn't like her and for good reason she get's you into more trouble than she gets you out of if at all. It doesn't help that she more or less joined simply because she wanted to join, she doesn't have any training or went to the school that her profession typically has. So again I'll recommend watching the Roars and I suggest this so you can get an idea of sound design for the monsters. Since you'll be checking out Turf Wars I got nothing to say about that. The only other video I would recommend is an armor video so you can see the different armor designs that come from monsters. I wouldn't recommend weapons cause in World/Iceborne the weapon designs are the worst part of the game sadly. That's about it from me but if you have questions about Monster Hunter let me know and I'll answer to the best of my ability
I can understand the dislike between handler. I never really disliked her cause I kinda got the impression that we were both kinda new to this whole thing compared to just about every other character in the game.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames It's called a Palico. Pal+Calico. In Rise (for the Switch), you get a dog companion, along with your cat, called a Palamute. Pal+Malamute. It's also ride-able! Yes, in Rise, you can ride a dog into battle, and it carries a weapon in its teeth and helps you fight. Btw, if you haven't, I'd love to see a reaction to the monster intros for Rise! The way they did them is really cool.
The Fatalis hunt was one of the most exhilarating feeling ever, after trying so hard for 3 days straight, 10hrs a day just to finally beat it, I was shaking like a leaf afterwards lol.
I got lucky on my first Fatalis hunt with randoms and got it within about 2-3 hours, all because I wanted the pendant. Haven't beat him as easily since then XD. Fatalis is the legitimate Dark Souls boss of World and the MH franchise in general... mostly because all of his attacks one or two-shot you.
Alatreon and Fatalis were the perfect final boss monsters. Not only are they among the strongest of the strong monsters in the Monster Hunter universe they are like final tests for you as a hunter. Alatreon tested your ability to be prepared for the hunt while Fatalis tested your skills in combat.
Zinogre (Thunder Doggo) was one of my favorite. It has a cool design and the way it interacts with the fulgurbugs to have its thunder power. Also, its bgm is so good.
I was going to go nerd on the various monsters, however I decided to scroll through the comments and decided to not bore you with repetition. With that being said, especially after hearing Ken asking "how big are they gonna get?", I once again encourage you to seek for the monsters size comparison videos, they give a pretty good idea at what hunters are facing and, Ken, thrust me, some of these things are so MASSIVE you are legally binded to write it all capitals. The beat ones are by Monster Hunter Wiki's channel and, just for MH World, from Team Darkside.
This is was a great video. Loved your reactions. Some answers to your questions. The cat who you spotted in several intros, is called a palico which is essentially your helper and a fellow hunter who fights with you. As for why the main character doesn't speak, it's because they are the protagonist aka you so they suffer from silent protagonist syndrome to make it easier to put yourself in their shoes I guess. The handler which is the "captain obvious" girl is essentially the person who gives you missions and oversees your hunts, she is kinda the voice of the protagonist giving more information on the world/situation. Hope that answer some of the questions at the end. Great video as always.
13:16 and 38:24 are my two favorite monsters of all time. The first one is Brachydios “The Crushing Wyvern” who uses his massive fists to pummel its prey and it has a green mold that hardens and explodes when it leaves its body. The second is Alatreon “The Blazing Black Dragon” which is capable of wielding every element in the game and is one of the most powerful dragons in the franchise.
Omg, yay! I have been waiting for this reaction ever since the last monster introductions video. You two are awesome! Still shoutouts to my boys Viper and Ebony!
34:54 yep. That’s Rajang. Basically a Saiyan from Dragon Ball Z as a monster. The reason it was fighting Kirin (the unicorn) is because it’s diet consists entirely of their horn.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames oh it is no question. But I think there’s something cool about monsters in this series that exclusively eat creature that are considered top tier ecosystem changers, like how Nergigante only goes after Elder Dragons.
the tigrex ("run or kill it while it's busy!" orange with blue stripes and took out a giant spike monster called radobaan) is an older monster, incredibly fast, incredibly aggressive, and has a habit of dashing across the area many times in a row to just obliterate the player. they're one of my favorites, honestly. i also love the sense of community you get when playing these games, from the npcs to other players always willing to jump in and help take down a monster, everyone is happy to be there and excited to hunt. the world of monster hunter continues to invite me back in, ready to sharpen my skills again and again. i'm sure someone else answered this, but the sword tailed monster is called glavenus, and when he bites the end of his tail, he's sharpening it. all the monsters have some kind of biological reasoning to their traits, but sometimes you just gotta have the cool stuff in there. back in monster hunter generations, there was a dragon called valstrax, who made noise and blasted around like a jet engine, and he has since reappeared in monster hunter rise, and there's some biological reasoning as to taking in a bunch of oxygen and using it to make himself faster, but it also just looks and sounds really freaking cool. namielle, the glowy dragon, is partially based off of bioluminescent deep sea creatures, and is therefore associated with water. they all play a part in the ecology. i also enjoy how like, your player character isn't some superhuman, they're just someone who's good at their job. everyone works together, and others do the same job you do. the hunters are stewards of the ecosystem, and when you have an incredibly destructive force like a rajang or a deviljho, their job is to take out the invasive species so the rest can live in harmony.
I would love to see these two react to the lore behind these monsters since a ton of the really good info is not spoken of in the cutscenes. Fatalis is a beast known for wiping out an entire civilization
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames watch rage gaming videos lore he covers the stuff super well. My favorite monster is the gore magala which is basically a walking disease. That monster you guys saw that looked like is had sacs all over it was blackveil val hazaak which is a monster covered in fungus.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Gaijin Hunter is way better than rage gaming for having real proof to support their argument whereas Rage gaming often re-uses the same material (which is widely known by MH community) to make profit.
That is the reason MH rates highly for me. They do so much with so few "skeletons" for monsters. For instance Barioth, Tigrex, and Nargacuga, all use the same base skeleton for the body. The only difference between them is the head and skin textures. Also, you should find MHW fights to react to, seeing the monsters enter is one thing, watching them fight is another.
Glavenus has the bite the ash and debris off his tail basically after sparking it so the surface is smooth and sharp again to allow him to set it aflame once more and as for his subspecies the green one which is called acidic glavenus he builds up corrosion on his tail so that's he bites his
Someone needs to find a good turf war video, cause every video I've seen tries so hard to be thorough that it just becomes boring and repetitive. I imagine that that would be doubly true for someone that has never played any of the games. There really is no reason to show the turf war between Anjanath vs Rathalos, and then Fulgur Anjanath vs Rathalos, and then Anjanath vs Blue Rathalos, and then Fulgur Anjanath...etc.
Turf wars are definitely something we want to check out. And links are always appreciated 😀 The repetitive kills makes us think of our For Honor vid that had too many as well 😝
43:30 say hello to the true final boss in mhw iceborne. Fatalis…BY FAR THE HARDEST FIGHT I EVERY FOUGHT. He is a black dragon, so he is the gods of all monster. Lore time Fatalis destroyed a kingdom in a single night, so he is unstoppable. That’s why the guild assigned experience hunter to kill him. But none came back alive. Until u confront him yourself. But like I said he is one of the hardest monster ever…the other one is Alatreon
Damn I wish you 2 could have seen the second fatalis cutscene. It uses a fire breath so powerful it destroys stone walls and melts very thick pieces of metal to almost liquid. Even in the lore fatalis is know to torture its victims just because it despises humanity and is actively seeking its destruction. It even melts hunters into its armor and its eyes are crystals just to withstand its incredibly powerful flame. Definitely one of if not the strongest monster in the monster hunter universe
Yeah, Fatalis is insane. The only monster known to be sapient... and it's 100% malevolent towards humans. Even the descriptions of its armor suggest really malicious things, as if its spite and scorn persists beyond death.
@@ascended313 Nope. Only Fatalis. The others are not capable of abstract thought. Fatalis is and specifically detests humans. It's not a natural predator-prey dynamic. There is no predator prey dynamic or wild flailing. It's even acknowledged in-universe that its ecology makes no sense in any way shape or form. It's a malevolent god with an evil eye towards humans.
As a Nergigante specialist. The interesting thing about it is that every time the bone spikes are broken. They grow back in a very short amount of time, being even harder than the ones you managed to break off. And it feeds on other elder dragons. So if there's a dying Elder Dragon somewhere, you can bet Nergigante is going to show up and enjoy it's meal.
the Ecology of these monsters are always amazing. Bracadios has a semi-symbiotic relationship with a highly volatile slimy 'mold' that grow in there mouth and most die very young from the slime killing there host, but if they survive into adult hood they can effectivly use this slime as a weapon (explosive punches) by spitting on the edge of there arms (and rubbing it onto that lovely 'pompdour' of a horn) while its often pretty fantastical, alot of these creatures actually have a in world explanation for what they are outside of just "its cool so it does things" heck even sub species have reasons. from either "albinism" makin them more agressive (gold/silver raths),in heating/breeding state (black diablos) or just a change in diet/local causing them to evolve differently
I always loved how deep the science is of the monsters bodies. The Glavenous uses its feet to sharpen its tail and its fire breath to finish it almost like a blacksmith
Yeah the devs are very firm in having that pseudo-realism to their monsters, as in they have to make ecological sense. Apparently the guys from that terrible live action movie wanted to make the Diablos claws different because "That would have looked more badass" and the devs straight up said "No, evolutionarily that wouldn't make any sense for them to grow like that"
The lightning puppy, as you, and many others very aptly call it, is Zinogre, who unlike most monsters gets its own theme music in the game. Absolutely recommend checking it out, because quite appropriately, it's electric.
0:57 ik I literally just started the vid, buh I didn't any answers, so I'll volunteer. The green stuff that came out of her pouch are called scoutflies. They help locate monster tracks, and glow red when there's danger. Really helpful in-game
The thing about Brachydios is that the green "slime" it produces from it's mouth is highly explosive. And when smeared on something it will explode either on impact (hence why it covers it's fists and "horn" with the stuff) or after a period of time has passed. Bazelgeuse (the thing that drops explosive scales from it's tail & belly, which has been nicknamed by players as the "B-52 Bomber") and Deviljho (the thing at 28:30, which some players have nicknamed "the pickle") are what's called "invading monsters", as they have no set ecosystem, and they just invade other ecosystems to destroy and kill anything that crosses their path. Their mere presence is a threat to whatever ecosystem they are in. They also will turf war (fight) with each other if they cross paths, and their turf war is rare since neither combatant clearly wins or loses, they both suffer injuries in the fight and it ends in a draw. Deviljho is also a long-time resident of Monster Hunter, while World was Bazelgeuse's debut in the series (seriously, a lot of players freaked out and were going "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" the first time they ran into Bazelgeuse). But Deviljho is pretty much a mindless brute. It will fight and try to kill literally *ANYTHING* that crosses it's path, regardless of any risk of injury or death, Deviljho just doesn't care. Deviljho doesn't care if it's a Great Jaggras or an Elder Dragon, it will try to fight & kill it if they cross paths. That's why any Deviljho sighting is treated as an emergency by hunters, as Deviljho are a massive threat to the stability of a given ecosystem....not to mention hunters themselves. Zinogre is a staple of Monster hunter that commonly returns in successive games, and one of it's titles is the "Lord of Lightning". Zinogre are very strong and not to be taken lightly, as show by even a Rathian & Diablos thinking twice about tangling with it. The "lightning unicorn" was Kirin, an Elder Dragon....and most players HATE having to fight the thing because it can be so brutal, and in many cases it could easily just one-shot a hunter on the spot. Though many people seem to consider Kirin to be the weakest Elder Dragon. The Rajang that attacked the Kirin is more or less immune to Kirin's lightning, and when Rajang fight Kirin, it is one of the only non-Elder Dragons to outright defeat an Elder Dragon one-on-one, that being Kirin (without it's horn, Kirin loses much of it's ability to control it's own lightning). Rajang is also one of the hardest non-Elder Dragons to actually fight. They're really tough.
Thanks for all the info on the monsters we were most curious about. Love the community names like Angry Pickle and Thunder Puppy for different monsters 🙂
Yea that last one is hyped up since some of the older games, the liivng apocalypses and the strongest monster alive outside of it's older form known as white fatalis. the single monster that almost wiped humans out.
The lightning unicorn is called a kirin and is actually an elder dragon that is relatively peaceful. The Fatalis is considered to be the most dangerous monster that every other monster tries to avoid it out of fear. It has a few other variants being the crimson fatalis and white fatalis. The crimson fatalis is an older more powerful and more aggressive fatalis, while the white fatalis is considered as the fatalis' ancestor.
One of the really cool things about Zinogre (The lighting dog at 32:10) is that it in the intro it looks at the hunter, understands that she is not a current threat, and then decides to go into a 2v1 against the King/Queen of the Desert (Diablos), and the King of the Jungle (Rathalos aka red dragon). Simply because that’s it’s territory it fights off 2 of the strongest natural apex predators of two regions. Also its music is great.
Just gonna say here that Rajang here at 34:13 is doing the lords work lol. Why? Because Kirin as cool as it looks is one of the most stupid, annoying, salt inducing, rage fuming, monsters to fight. It moves fast so it’s very tricky to hit the damn thing, all of it’s attacks is fast and it’s lightning attacks can be a pain in the ass to dodge. This monster is 100% cart central (cart/carted means your hunter got KO’ed and they get carted back to base camp within the map.). Now for why Rajang was fighting the Kirin. It said in lore that Rajang’s when they come of age set out to hunt Kirin. Which isn’t easy since those Thunder unicorn’s are very illusive and hard to come by. But when they do find one the Rajang makes a beeline for the horn and consume it which activates the dormant electrosacs within their body. This allows the Rajang to get Thunder abilities. Also the Rajang’s are a reference to dragon ball. Most notably the saiyans and their super Saiyan forms.
Thanks for explaining the Rajangs motives better her. “Doing the lords work” 😂🤣 we have heard from others that Kirin is a pain in the ass. But from our perspective Rajang was being a bully 😜
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Oh and not to mention that whole Rajang cutscene was mocapped. You can find the BTS footage here on UA-cam! The actor for Rajang went in on the role lol.
Thank you guys for another monster hunter upload! If I had to recommend more monster hunter I'd recommend the older ecology videos from past monster hunter games! Monster hunter tri and monster hunter 4ultimate in particular have great ecologies.
I’m so glad you guys finally got to see the amazing creatures I recommended the last time, thank you so much for your reactions, and yes the sword tail Dino is one of my top favourites as well
I think you kinda miss out a bit on their actual fights, cuz from there you could actually see more of the personality of each monster. They have some really mindblowing moves. For instance that massive rock monster with "hand-wings" is not what it seems, and you only find it out when you go through the battle. That super scary monster is a re-design of another one from the base game, called Black Veil Vaal Hazak. It was themed with death and decay originally but they added BLACK MOLD to that, so now this is an elder dragon of death that spreads the decay with spores from the mold that grows on it's body.
@@samieltheinfamous I actually haven't done that still. It's the exact point on which i just randomly paused playing Iceborn. Wanna go finish it up but it's actually pretty daunting.
@@nikkan3810 He looks tougher than he is. Break the mold on his face and you can flashbomb him, and you can gem up against spore attacks (his AOE is kinda spectacular) and effluvia. Otherwise, pretty much like fighting a regular Vaal.
@@samieltheinfamous I don't have a problem with the fight per-se, i just got kinda tired from the game's formula. To fight him i needed to fight a buncha other monsters to have parts for a relevant tier weapon, and armor with anti-effluvial perks, as well as guard for my lance. I did all of that a while ago and got burnt out again. If i start the game back up i'll probably beat him in no time, but starting it up is the problem. Executive function issues lmao.
You guys should definitely react to "MH Lore-Fatalis" by Team Darkside. It super interesting and explores the entire "history" that the red haired Hunter spoke of when he was about to fight Fatalis
Thanks for the lore vid rec! That seems to be a solid MH channel. Always interesting seeing which channel emerges as the lore daddy or go to channel for a franchise 🙂
I love the mhw reactions really makes me wanting to play the again. If you want you can react to the mhw monster size comparison by team dark sides it’s a really cool video anyway take care 🙂
The first set of creatures look familiar because you've seen them before (aside from Banbaro); they're elemental variations of regular World Monsters. Glavenus was sharpening his tail, not putting it out. Contrary to Bethany's assertions, Velkhana is not a pretty pretty princess, she is a giant kill-stealing pain in the ass. The Pouch Elder Dragon is a variant of Val Hazaak, the "zombie master" dragon you saw in World. The Big Pickle T-Rex is DevilJho, who doesn't afraid of ANYTHING. anything. Elder dragons, Taxes, Mother in Laws, whatever. Whereas Nergigante is the Punisher, weeding out the bad dragons; DevilJho is the Akuma, weeding out everyone else, period. DevilJho would pick a fight with Fatalis. Even on a Tuesday. Also contrary, Kirin is not a pretty pretty princess. That mono-horned asshole has probably caused more team wipes than every other elder combined. The Big Red Dragon is the adult form of the blue rainbow dragon you saw at the end of World. Alatreon was actually here to kill the big red dragon before it got too big to kill... didn't work out to well. Fatalis is quite tiny for an Omega dragon, he's also capable of melting an entire city. With one blast.
Brachidios has a mutualistic relationship with a specific type of fungus. The green stuff on them is the fungus. When in contact with air, the fungus rapidly expands, which basically becomes an explosion. Brachidios saliva is able to slow this process, so the fungus is able to spread and the brachi has a defensive/offensive weapon. blackveil Vaal Hazak also has a mutualistic relationship with a fungus. This fungus is able to use effluvium to drain other living beings of of vital energy. But to make this work with Vaal, it has to let it grow on it. So, eventually the fungus covers it's eyes, making it blind. Namielle wasn't really shown that well in the intro. It's able command both water and lightning. And the way it flies is more reminiscent of a vampire squid. Honestly, out of all monster, this is the one you want to see the actual fight to fully appreciate everything that's going on with the design. Seething bazelgeuse is basically just a really pissed off bazelgeuse. But, Bazelgeuse are actually carrion feeders, their bombs are a way to scare off instead of hunt. They find a fresh kill and scare off the other's around them, so it's probable that seething bazelgeuse is just a juvenile that hasn't gotten the hang of finding the actual food. Fun fact about the Nergigante in the iceborne expansion (that is also a spoiler). The one you fight first, pretends to die and you can carve it as if you actually killed it. But, instead it just pretends until the rock dragon pretends to die, then it actually kills the rock dragon and leave's you be. Even though you just carved a wing from it. The rock dragon's actual name is Shara Ishvalda. It another monster you might actually want to see the actual fight. Rajang have this really neat habit of eating horns of Kirin (the unicorn), Kirin are considered an elder dragon and this monkey utilizes the power of unga bunga to eat their horns to achieve super sayian 2. They can do this naturally without blood sacrifice, but just like Goku, it takes time so they just take the shortcut (there's also a video of how they mocapped that scene, it's pretty funny) Safi'jiiva is the adult form of xeno'jiiva (from the base game, the translucid crystal dragon). They're able to absorb bioenergy from the surrounding area, and the theme they have gave me severe PTSD before I even fought it. Seriously, the song has moments where you hear it's heart beat and it's ultimate attack instills fear unto me by just existing. Alatreon is able to tap into multiple elements, it's known as the unstable red dragon. Red dragons being the most feared in all of monster hunter. It also has a really powerful attack, but safi's sound design makes my heart skip beats. Fatalis is the most feared dragon. Purely because it's one of the few that have a specific motive. The motive being that, it hates humanity specifically. Design vice, it's one of the most simple dragon designs. No elemental gimmicks, no design gimmicks, it's just a dragon that breathes intense fire (the dragon from mario odyssey is pretty close to it design wise).
19:46 the Saint of pure ice the soilder of the frozen wastes the frozen emperor velkahanna 21:04 the decaying God the rotten destroyer the necrotic horror Val hazak 21:58 the aquatic terror the torrent of despair the master of the waves Namielle 25:30 the song of the stones the wrath of earth the destroyer of the land Shara Ishvalda
Also, you should see what Shara Ishvalda 27:42 looks like underneath, as the rocks are a protective layer on top, and in its fight, once you damage it enough, it will remove the rock layer.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Another thing I find cool is about Alatreon 38:43. Which is one, it is also a black dragon, like Fatalis, and, it also has the ability to change elements, from ice to dragon to fire, or fire to dragon to ice. But for some reason, it’s never ice or fire, then the other one, and then dragon. It always has to have dragon element as the element change in between ice and fire.
Fatalis and Alatreon or black dragons. They’re walking calamities. The third black dragon that isn’t in the this game, Dire Miralis, lives in the tainted sea. The sea is dead calm because it’s body temp boiled all the fish in its vicinity. And Fatalis is on entire other level than the other two.
24:21 "When a monster's odd in monster hunter, you shit's about to get real" Fatalis looking like a generic ass dragon while being the most power and feared
So glad you guys reacted to these! Also glad you guys like Zinogre! My favorite monster of all time. The reason you guys probably liked the Monsters in the DLC more is alot were from previous games and mostly returning fan favorites and previous games flagship monsters. You have to do Monster Hunter Rise now, the intros are sooo good in there. Keep doing what you guys do aswell always enjoy your videos.
34:00 This is kinda ironic cuz Kirin (the unicorn) is surely one of the most hated monster (he's very frsutrating to fight) and Rajang one of the most loved one (his theme is very funky and his moves are very anime and ridiculous). You have to know that Rajang predate on kirin to eitheir (re)gain his electricity power or to transition to adulthood. Eating kirin horns is a part in the ritual of adulthood transition. I personally love how a simple "monkey-minotaur" has a freaking culture and tradition. I LOVE MONSTER HUNTER If you want to meet an even more beautiful monster than the Kirin... Type "Rise Mizutsune" on youtube and you'll find one of the most beautiful loved monster in all series
I like rajang because money unga bunga and it just man handled my least favorite monster and when it ate it's horn was awesome and also when they said noooo I was like yeeees
Great video! Feels good to see more people checking out Monster Hunter! If there was anything would recommend watching would be the intros for all of the Games cuz their amazing 👏, maybe the weapon actions for World, Iceborne, and Rise (and maybe SunBreak too if its out should be May 14 or 16) oooh maybe the trailers for Rise or World if there's some worth reactioning too :) 😃 it was fun seeing your reaction to these monsters, can't wait to see more from you guys 😊
Vaal Hazak is so interesting- It uses the mold on its body to basically function and breathe. When a creature gets infected with the mold(Effluvium) i think it just takes it over as a host body. Vaal Hazak inhales the mold back into its body for sustinence as well as just breathing. The mold has completely blocked out his eyes and is blind, he usually just wanders around aimlessly much like a zombie up until you aggro him!
one thing i love abut the zinogre cinematic is its pride. it just struts towards the "king od the skies" and the "desert tyrant" like they are childs-play while *Noticing* but not even acknowledging you. it looks at you like you would look at a fly buzzing past because its so damn confident in its power it doesnt think you are a threat.
So the Guild makes use of 'Scout Flies' (those green lights that come out of the lanterns the hunters and handlers wear) to help track monsters and find items of interest.
31:28 to 32:05 I fell in love with Zinogre after that introduction because Monster Hunter World Iceborne was my first monster hunter game and but when I saw Alatreon I felt like I went from a tough unstoppable force to a kitten cowering in fear
i just have to post Fatalis's song he is too awesome The Legend of the Black Dragon When the world is full of wyverns The legend is revived Meat is eaten, Bone is crunched, And blood is sucked up dry. He burns the earth and melts through iron He boils the rivers And mows down the trees He awakens the winds And lights an inferno He is called Fatalis the wyvern of destiny He is called Fatalis The wyvern of destruction Call for help Run for your lives And don't forget to Pray to the skies He is called Fatalis the wyvern of destiny He is called Fatalis The wyvern of destruction Fatalis, Fatalis Heaven and Earth are yours, Fatalis, Fatalis Heaven and Earth are yours.
The green stuff flying around are scoutflies. They help you find tracks and eventually the monster as well as things you can collect in the area. For most things, they're green. For elder dragons or special monster variants they're blue and when combat breaks out, they turn red and flee back to you.
I hope you guys enjoy this one. I recommend you guys check out Monster Hunter Iceborne "In Game Turf War". You will see a little bit of gameplay and amazing scenes of monster going at each other
I think you guys should definitely watch How To Monster Hunter from Punk Duck now, it's a great little video that shows some more insights into gameplay and is just funny and great!
Details about the Sword-tailed dinosaur - named Glavenus classified as a brute wyvern... it uses its armor plated mouth to sharpen its tail and uses it like a sword. Since it can also breathe fire it can heat up its tail as well... you know... in case the giant sword part wasn't enough...
Sub species are version of monsters that developed different traits for different places and means of defense, so there are multiple.(ex. Pink Rathian, Azure Rathalos, Viper Tobi-Kadachi.) Variants are rare. basically, monster that broke off and kinda does it's own thing. Having very unique traits and a lot more dangerous. (ex. Shrieking Legiana, Seething Bazeguese) I absolutely adore Monster Hunter biolgy and lore.
You excited to the new game coming in 2025? We just checked out the trailer last night and will have our brief reaction to it since it was just a little teaser 🤗
45:15 in the game, you play as the hunter, the girl ( or boy if you customized them that way) that doesn’t talk, and I think the only reason they don’t is because they just didn’t make voice lines for them. There might be a lore reason and I just haven’t heard about it yet. But from my understanding of playing the game, they just didn’t make voice lines for the character you play as.
Secondary timestamps because UA-cam doesn’t like excessively long comment 33:13 Kirin, Elder Dragon. Didn’t have an intro in base world. Kirin are rare Elder Dragons who respect nature. They can summon lightning storms, smite anyone from a distance, and can run fast enough they act like lightning. It’s a teleporting unicorn with the powers of Zeus. It is said that they walk so delicately they will not even bend a blade of grass. 33:38 Rajang, Fanged Beast. A giant monkey with unrivalled strength and ability. Rajang can generate electricity and are very dangerous, all players fear them or love the challenge they bring. Rajang is on par with Deviljho and Bazelgeuse and is known to very often hunt Kirin for their horns and meat. Rajang, as a species, constantly roam the world in search of a teleporting lightning unicorn, and kill them often. Rajang feeds off of Kirin and its horns to gain stronger electrical capabilities such as actually going Super Saiyan. They can also spit electricity and shoot laser beams from their mouth. To compensate for lack of armour or scales, Rajang can pump its arms full of blood to the point where they stiffen and tense up like stone, becoming one of the toughest things in the world. The horns on its head are exclusively for intimidation and are never used for combat. There’s a video of a guy doing the mocap work for Rajang and I adore him. There’s a fun fan joke that The Admiral is actually a tiny Rajang disguised as a human, as seen by his great strength and luxurious hair. 36:10 Safi’Jiiva, Elder Dragon. Safi is the adult version of Xeno’Jiiva, the cool blue glowing alien monster from last video. You can see shedded skin all across this cavern. Safi has much greater control over its laser beams and blue burning attacks along with stronger wings and more durable scales. Safi can also rip the life energy directly out of the Everstream, through the earth, and into its body to charge it up for attacks or to heal itself. One of the founding rules of Monster Hunter, if it looks more like a generic western dragon, the stronger it is. 38:23 Alatreon, Elder Dragon, Black Dragon. Alatreon is one of three (technically five, technically technically seven) Black Dragons or First Class Threats in Monster Hunter. A potential extinction level event creature. Alatreon is a dragon covered in reverse facing scales that despises all life and will try its best to stay away from it. Alatreon can control all the elements, Fire, Water, Thunder, Ice, and Dragon. It can creates blasts of fire or ice that can completely wipe out an ecosystem if it so pleased. 43:46 Fatalis, Elder Dragon, Black Dragon. The quintessential God of All Monsters. Fatalis is a creature of legend and myth. It is said that it once took out the entirety of the Ancient Civilization in a single night, bathing the world in flames and killing everything. Its fire somehow is hotter than the sun, its intelligence equal to ours, its strength is unholy. Fatalis has been known to take hunters and burn them on to its hide, forging armour out of those who try to slay it much like how they did to monsters previously. Fatalis walks around on two legs in mockery of man and bipeds. It is the boogeyman, the devil, hate and searing vengeance made flesh. Words simply cannot describe the impact of the being that every man, woman, and monster fears. Fatalis is the end of all. (And then there’s his two harder variants from past games) As for your question about the mute Hunter, all player characters from Iceborne and prior never spoke. They’re meant to be avatars of you. They normally communicate via grunts, whistles, and hand gestures like pointing. In Monster Hunter Rise, the Player hunter speaks silly often but only while hunting, usually throwing insults or taunting words at the monster itself. They also comment on tasty food they eat in the field or if something dangerous is about to happen. As for the lady our player is with, that’s The Handler. You actually barely know her. She was assigned as your partner when you were in the boat to the New World and she handles all the background work for your quests and hunts. She also has a penchant for getting into dangerous spots.
Fun fact about the Zinogre: Whenever it isn't attacking something, or it isn't being attacked back, it is usually doing a prideful strut as it's basic movement. Another fun fact: It is capable of going supercharged. In some games, you can hilariously disable this supercharge by netting electric bugs on it's back whilst it is down, since the supercharged state is because of those bugs on it's back. A nice case of symbiosis.
Godzilla.
We want to see the angry pickle take him down 😁🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames They both get their dukes in the turf war. I'd recommend looking at if you haven't seen it. It's cool.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames watch the turf wars
@@sythrus That is very true.
Quick question should they watch the "all monster size comparison in world/iceborne" by Team darkside or not?
@@spacemanchaos I can’t really give a good answer to this since I haven’t actually seen the video. From the title alone, I don’t know if it would be entertaining enough. However, with it being here means that it could be a possibility. If someone who as actually seen the video want to give some info maybe that would be nice.
@@spacemanchaos I think it would be a fun video for them to react, just to give them an idea of how big the monsters could get in world/iceborne.
Fatalis is such an awesome and terrifying creature. Some terrifying facts about him:
Fatalis destroyed the kingdom of Schrade in a single night
He has an aura that makes every living thing fear him (including other black dragons)
During the fight, he has a super move where he breathes fire over the entire arena and you have to throw up a giant barrier to stop it, and the fire just melts the barrier like butter
It’s said that Fatalis can regenerate from a single scale
Anyone who wears the armor of Fatalis is said to be driven mad and eventually become Fatalis themselves
Fatalis melts the bodies of fallen hunters onto his chest, which hardens and becomes his armor
Hope you sleep well knowing this 😊
.
Last fact is made prominent given the grab attack that Fatalis does during its fight
also another piece of info. A bit unofficial but that you could deduce from official things
Fatalis is evolved enough to be capable of sentience and great intelligence, and thus he could be self aware of what he does it's an atrocity , but doesn't care at all.
Holy crap he sounds terrifying.....I love it
Barioth's cutscene is actually interesting cause it's stated to keep it's eyes squinted due to the harsh sun glinting off the snow. If you see the intro cutscene at night, it's eyes are wide open.
*And it is intimidating!*
Nice little fun fact there
🙂
Fun fact about Fatalis: The ancient civilization’s survivors were so terrified of it after it destroyed Castle Schrade that they burned almost every single piece of literature that even mentioned Fatalis, making lots of it’s true ecology unknown. The only thing that really remains of Fatalis information wise is the “Song of Fatalis”, a children’s rhyme.
Nice fun fact 😀
Same can be said about Alatreon.

Timestamps and info
2:09 Beotodus, Piscine Wyvern.
I wonder what it looks like underneath? ;)
28:01 Yian Garuga, Bird Wyvern.
They chose a great mascot for Iceborne. Valkana with the ice spear is beautiful and terrifying 😀

Correction on Viper Tobi, his quills just cause poison and his bite is what causes paralysis

Thanks for explaining that part of the game for us 🙂 We we’re very curious about it
Scout flies were the best thing to be added to this game franchise.

8:05
Tigrex, nicknamed _The Roaring Dragon that Bears its Fangs_ is the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Freedom 2.
9:37
Nargacuga, the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Freedom.
11:05
Glavenus, the Scorching Blade and one of the four flagship monsters of Monster Hunter Generations.
13:05
Brachydios, the Bold Indigo and flagship of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. On top of that, when they get angry the slime mold will no longer stick and straight up explode on contact with *anything.*
16:36
Here we have a regular Odogaron and an Ebony Odogaron.
18:07
Acidic Glavenus, a subspecies of Glavenus that has made its home on the Rotten Vale.
21:23
Here we have a special variation on the monster Vaal Hazaak: Blackveil Vaal Hazaak.
22:58
Ah, the Bazeguese.
28:00
Here we have an old favorite of mine, the Yian Garuga.
31:40
Another personal favorite of mine, the Zinogre.
33:40
This is a Rajang, a massive Super Saiyan murder monkey that makes King Kong look like a stuffed animal in comparison.
36:00
Safi’Jiiva: the Sapphire Emperor.
He is one of two monsters in the entire game (before you ask fellow hunters, I don’t count Behemoth) that can kill you *instantly* with his signature attack _Sapphire of the Emperor._
37:20
Alatreon, one of the few Black Dragons in the franchise.
43:42
Fatalis: The Calamity.
Well done. Give yourself a pat o. The back, you deserve it.

I’m only repeating my own experiences. Monster Hunter got me through middle school, and it’s been a part of my life ever since.
Good job fellow hunter!
Thanks so much for the detailed explanations and the time stamps as well. We weren’t too far off with puppy lightning on Zinogre 😂
Also the golden form it adopts is it's powered up form and since it's a monkey people have called it the 'Super Saiyan'
The Blue Puppy, is the Zinogre and it is the the progenitor, not literally, of the Fanged Wyvern Classification.
Gotta respect the Deviljho. Not backing down to anything 😎🤟💪

Fatalis is the legitimate Dark Souls boss of World and the MH franchise in general... mostly because all of his attacks one or two-shot you.
Never played World so I can't wait until they add him to Rise.

The relationship between the Hunter and the Handler is simple.
Hunter: I'm gonna fight that
Handler: OK

Zinogre (Thunder Doggo) was one of my favorite. It has a cool design and the way it interacts with the fulgurbugs to have its thunder power. Also, its bgm is so good.
Thunder Doggo for the win 🥳🥳
I was going to go nerd on the various monsters, however I decided to scroll through the comments and decided to not bore you with repetition.
With that being said, especially after hearing Ken asking "how big are they gonna get?", I once again encourage you to seek for the monsters size comparison videos, they give a pretty good idea at what hunters are facing and, Ken, thrust me, some of these things are so MASSIVE you are legally binded to write it all capitals. The beat ones are by Monster Hunter Wiki's channel and, just for MH World, from Team Darkside.
Haha, legally binding caps is no joke 😜 look forward to seeing that size comparison video in the future 🙂
Appreciate the help in answering our questions 😀
Crazy to think that entire kingdom made up of the most dangerous people to ever live was wiped out by Fatalis in less than a day…

😎🤟 Crushing Wyvern is cool name
Glavenus is so cool I love that it sharpens its tail like a blade and its fangs like a whetstone.

34:54 yep. That’s Rajang. Basically a Saiyan from Dragon Ball Z as a monster. The reason it was fighting Kirin (the unicorn) is because it’s diet consists entirely of their horn.
Rajang is still a dick 😡
Well said 😊
I would love to see these two react to the lore behind these monsters since a ton of the really good info is not spoken of in the cutscenes.

Turf wars is something we plan on checking out in the future 🙂
Glavenus has the bite the ash and debris off his tail basically after sparking it so the surface is smooth and sharp again to allow him to set it aflame once more and as for his subspecies the green one which is called acidic glavenus he builds up corrosion on his tail so that's he bites his
Thanks for helping explain that 🙂
I think you should react to either the turf wars, or some Monster Hunter Rise stuff sometime soon. I like the variety that you guys react to though. 😀
Also older game ecologies, those are great. Oh and also the intro.
@@yannym4605Yeah, it gets super repetitive seeing the same thing with different subspecies

Looks like it would be an intense fight for sure 😨😯🤩
I love how not even 5 mins in the video and ken's already sick of the handler's BS
😂🤗
Damn I wish you 2 could have seen the second fatalis cutscene.
It uses a fire breath so powerful it destroys stone walls and melts very thick pieces of metal to almost liquid.
Even in the lore fatalis is know to torture its victims just because it despises humanity and is actively seeking its destruction.
It even melts hunters into its armor and its eyes are crystals just to withstand its incredibly powerful flame.
Definitely one of if not the strongest monster in the monster hunter universe
😯😨
Yeah, Fatalis is insane. The only monster known to be sapient... and it's 100% malevolent towards humans. Even the descriptions of its armor suggest really malicious things, as if its spite and scorn persists beyond death.
@@RicochetForce I’m pretty sure all elder dragons have sentience and sapience.
@@ascended313 especially Alatreon. So arrogant just because he's basically the Avatar of the Elder Dragons
Neegigante has a taste for the finer things in life it seems 😋
Though apparently there are dragons too powerful for Negigante, which is why Ruiner Nergigante, the more powerful version, exists.
the Ecology of these monsters are always amazing.
Bracadios has a semi-symbiotic relationship with a highly volatile slimy 'mold' that grow in there mouth and most die very young from the slime killing there host, but if they survive into adult hood they can effectivly use this slime as a weapon (explosive punches) by spitting on the edge of there arms (and rubbing it onto that lovely 'pompdour' of a horn)
while its often pretty fantastical, alot of these creatures actually have a in world explanation for what they are outside of just "its cool so it does things"
heck even sub species have reasons. from either "albinism" makin them more agressive (gold/silver raths),in heating/breeding state (black diablos) or just a change in diet/local causing them to evolve differently
We’ve been told the ecology videos are worth a watch as well 🤩
I always loved how deep the science is of the monsters bodies. The Glavenous uses its feet to sharpen its tail and its fire breath to finish it almost like a blacksmith
😎🤟😀
Yeah the devs are very firm in having that pseudo-realism to their monsters, as in they have to make ecological sense. Apparently the guys from that terrible live action movie wanted to make the Diablos claws different because "That would have looked more badass" and the devs straight up said "No, evolutionarily that wouldn't make any sense for them to grow like that"
The Elder Dragon at 36:16 is actually the final boss (the giant glowing blue dragon at the very end) from the base game but as an adult.
😯
The lightning puppy, as you, and many others very aptly call it, is Zinogre, who unlike most monsters gets its own theme music in the game. Absolutely recommend checking it out, because quite appropriately, it's electric.
😎🤟😀
Granted he was the flagship monster of Portable 3rd and the first Fanged Wyvern made for the franchise.
0:57 ik I literally just started the vid, buh I didn't any answers, so I'll volunteer. The green stuff that came out of her pouch are called scoutflies. They help locate monster tracks, and glow red when there's danger. Really helpful in-game
Thanks for answering our question 😀
You should have seen the cutscene during the fatalis fight where he bathes the entire castle in flame. It looks so cool
😯
😯😎🤟
Ahhh Fatalis. The love of my life that I can never beat.
We have faith you will beat Fatalis one day 🙂
The lightning unicorn is called a kirin and is actually an elder dragon that is relatively peaceful.
Wouldn’t have guessed the Kirin was an elder dragon 😯
One of the really cool things about Zinogre (The lighting dog at 32:10) is that it in the intro it looks at the hunter, understands that she is not a current threat, and then decides to go into a 2v1 against the King/Queen of the Desert (Diablos), and the King of the Jungle (Rathalos aka red dragon). Simply because that’s it’s territory it fights off 2 of the strongest natural apex predators of two regions.
Also its music is great.
Love iceborne expansion. Added so much to the game! Glad y’all reacting to it! Cheers!
🥂🥳🤩

😯 we will have to see the battles on a fight night Friday maybe 🤔

They can do this naturally without blood sacrifice, but just like Goku, it takes time so they just take the shortcut (there's also a video of how they mocapped that scene, it's pretty funny)
Safi'jiiva is the adult form of xeno'jiiva (from the base game, the translucid crystal dragon).
Isn´t Alatreon the Blazing Black Dragon?
@@frozenherolp9077 forgot
Edit: nah, I just mixed up the colors. It's the black dragons that are the toppest.
Namielle vampire squid sounds fascinating for sure and maybe worth seeing a full fight from like you suggested 😀
19:46 the Saint of pure ice the soilder of the frozen wastes the frozen emperor velkahanna
21:04 the decaying God the rotten destroyer the necrotic horror Val hazak
21:58 the aquatic terror the torrent of despair the master of the waves Namielle
25:30 the song of the stones the wrath of earth the destroyer of the land Shara Ishvalda
Also, you should see what Shara Ishvalda 27:42 looks like underneath, as the rocks are a protective layer on top, and in its fight, once you damage it enough, it will remove the rock layer.
😎👍😀
Boiled all the fish?!😨
24:21 "When a monster's odd in monster hunter, you shit's about to get real"
Fatalis looking like a generic ass dragon while being the most power and feared
Thank you! I was waiting for this, and had an awful day at work. At least this makes the day better.
Sorry work sucked 😢 glad this could help you destress. We’ve been there for sure 🤗
Rise will be next for MH! Glad you are enjoying the videos 😀
I love that this looks like the hunter is just walking around encountering monsters
The cats are called palicos
That was the name I was looking for 😅
Ooooh it's time for iceborne monsters now! I cannot stress enough how much I love this game lmao, iceborne was pure gold of a dlc
😎🤟🥳
34:00 This is kinda ironic cuz Kirin (the unicorn) is surely one of the most hated monster (he's very frsutrating to fight) and Rajang one of the most loved one (his theme is very funky and his moves are very anime and ridiculous). You have to know that Rajang predate on kirin to eitheir (re)gain his electricity power or to transition to adulthood. Eating kirin horns is a part in the ritual of adulthood transition. I personally love how a simple "monkey-minotaur" has a freaking culture and tradition. I LOVE MONSTER HUNTER
If you want to meet an even more beautiful monster than the Kirin... Type "Rise Mizutsune" on youtube and you'll find one of the most beautiful loved monster in all series
Like a big monkey that can go super saiyan is both cool and funny
Will we see that Monster when we check out the Monster Hunter Rise intros 😀
Or generations ultimate mizutsune
Thanks for the recommendations for more MH vids to check out 😀
Vaal Hazak is so interesting- It uses the mold on its body to basically function and breathe.
23:16 the girl from earlier (the handler) was reffering to a "nargacuga" not a nergigante
29:08 Yian Garuda was just trying to defend its turf
Fair enough 🤗
one thing i love abut the zinogre cinematic is its pride. it just struts towards the "king od the skies" and the "desert tyrant" like they are childs-play while *Noticing* but not even acknowledging you. it looks at you like you would look at a fly buzzing past because its so damn confident in its power it doesnt think you are a threat.
Love that you guys enjoy dunking on the Handler just as much as the community does.
Haha, she makes it too easy 😜
You're thinking, that thé narga Is bat,but it's a panther with wings And ebony is not Godzilla Is doggy
😎👍🙂
Since I like Glavenus I feel like explaining it, it uses its teeth/mouth as a whetstone to keep its tail from getting dull.
Pretty badass ability 😎🤟
The "red lighting" is the dragon element
38:20 Altereon is the Elder Dragon that can wield 4 elements. That being Fire, Ice, Lightning and Dragon Breath (The red Lighting cloud).
You forgot water
So the Guild makes use of 'Scout Flies' (those green lights that come out of the lanterns the hunters and handlers wear) to help track monsters and find items of interest.
😎👍😀
31:28 to 32:05
I fell in love with Zinogre after that introduction because Monster Hunter World Iceborne was my first monster hunter game and but when I saw Alatreon I felt like I went from a tough unstoppable force to a kitten cowering in fear
If a monster cutscene seem to stop suddenly in these videos, it’s actually because the cutscene nearly seamlessly transitions into gameplay!
😎👍😀
i just have to post Fatalis's song he is too awesome
The Legend of the Black Dragon
When the world is full of wyverns
The legend is revived
Meat is eaten, Bone is crunched,
And blood is sucked up dry.
He burns the earth
and melts through iron
He boils the rivers
And mows down the trees
He awakens the winds
And lights an inferno
He is called Fatalis
the wyvern of destiny
He is called Fatalis
The wyvern of destruction
Call for help
Run for your lives
And don't forget to
Pray to the skies
He is called Fatalis
the wyvern of destiny
He is called Fatalis
The wyvern of destruction
Fatalis, Fatalis
Heaven and Earth are yours,
Fatalis, Fatalis
Heaven and Earth are yours.
He boils the rivers and awakens the winds 😎🤟 Thanks for sharing the lyrics 🤩
The green stuff flying around are scoutflies. They help you find tracks and eventually the monster as well as things you can collect in the area. For most things, they're green. For elder dragons or special monster variants they're blue and when combat breaks out, they turn red and flee back to you.
Thanks for helping explain those 🙂
I hope you guys enjoy this one. I recommend you guys check out Monster Hunter Iceborne "In Game Turf War". You will see a little bit of gameplay and amazing scenes of monster going at each other
Looking forward to seeing some of the turf wars 😀
I think you guys should definitely watch How To Monster Hunter from Punk Duck now, it's a great little video that shows some more insights into gameplay and is just funny and great!
Looking forward to it. On our request list 😇
Haha, why just have a sword when you can also breath fire 😁
Sub species are version of monsters that developed different traits for different places and means of defense, so there are multiple.(ex. Pink Rathian, Azure Rathalos, Viper Tobi-Kadachi.) Variants are rare. basically, monster that broke off and kinda does it's own thing. Having very unique traits and a lot more dangerous. (ex. Shrieking Legiana, Seething Bazeguese)
I absolutely adore Monster Hunter biolgy and lore.
Makes sense. 😎👍🙂
Secondary timestamps because UA-cam doesn’t like excessively long comment
33:13 Kirin, Elder Dragon.
(And then there’s his two harder variants from past games)
As for your question about the mute Hunter, all player characters from Iceborne and prior never spoke.
Thanks for all the info and time stamps and for answering our questions we had along the way about some gameplay aspects 🙂
That Zinogre was like " Don't worry I got you"😉
35:27 Not many safe rocks to hide behind when the place is filled with molten magma…or would it be lava in this case?
Fair point 🤗
Fun fact about the Zinogre: Whenever it isn't attacking something, or it isn't being attacked back, it is usually doing a prideful strut as it's basic movement. Another fun fact: It is capable of going supercharged. In some games, you can hilariously disable this supercharge by netting electric bugs on it's back whilst it is down, since the supercharged state is because of those bugs on it's back. A nice case of symbiosis.
You can depower it in world using the catcher net on its back
Love the fun fact about the electric bugs 😀
