Try playing some Soundgarden songs with your bass low. It kinda makes sense actually. There's nothing too dexterous going on with the left hand.

My favorite story is when Duff brought GNR to Seattle on their first ‘tour’, and they went to see Soudgarden who were already big there. After the show they asked Soundgarden guys to use their equipment and play few songs, and they were like - hmmm, no.

My band used to rehearse at NAF 3 nights a week. Mark Naficy is one of the coolest, kindest guys I knew. I went on the roof one time and some of the heads from the Alice in Chains video for "What The Hell Have I" are up there and the other two fell off the roof and were tangled in the vegetation just rotting. This would have been around 1997-2000.
The only thing that sucked is some nights after we played a show in town we would have to load our gear back into our room at NAF & the parking lot would be jam packed because a rave was going on. So we'd have to get all of our gear out of our cars/trucks and then try and part our way through a sea of rave kids saying "excuse me, excuse me, excuse me" about a 100x just to make it to our band room. Great memories at NAF!

This is on the rooftop of NAF, a rehearsal studio/warehouse in West Seattle. Mark Nafacy can be seen side stage at 5:15. Was a cool show, my band BoneTowne had a room there also. SG also shot the video for Hands All Over there, and threw other party's/gigs. I also knew Layne and Jerry, and hung/got high with them there on a couple occasions. Was sad to see where Layne was headed.....That was the Seattle scene folks! Seems like a lifetime ago...
