Whetherspoons aren't great pubs, but they're good enough, reasonably cheap and reasonably consistent. The food is average but reliable, they have a good to very good selection of beers and are typically large, and don't have music so they're good for meetups. As for the game, a perfect score for me other than round three where I was way off, even though I've been round the corner from that spot (albeit not for quite a few years now)!
The broken sign on the Gooseberry Bush would have said "Free House", not "Tree House". A Free House is a pub which is not tied to a particular brewery to supply its beer. All Wetherspoons are Free Houses, I believe.
Mad that this video was suggested by the algorithm. I actually went to Nottingham Trent Uni and drank at that pub loads, was always a good spot to watch football. I also now live round the corner from Highbury in Newington Green, The Famous Cock is an Arsenal pub (but I'm a Spurs fan so never go there!)
Holy crap I got a lucky guess on the third round. I thought I saw a bit of sea and harbour machinery behind the buildings, checked couple coastal cities, if I could find a Wetherspoon's near a port. Cardiff was like the 5th town I checked, and the first that had a Wetherspoon's in aforementioned location, so just threw my marker there without thinking it further, since there wasn't really any better clues. Rest of the rounds were a lot easier, and apart from the last. It took me so long to find the correct spot, even tho I knew the city from almost the beginning.
Good map. My game went just like yours, 5k on other rounds and failure on that where moving wasn't possible. I guessed Liverpool and got only 747 points.
Hey! The Faltering Fullback, near Highbury. Excellent pub! Fantastic beer garden on six different levels, fabulous. As you may remember, I’m a Crystal Palace fan and this is the pub I go to before Arsenal v Palace because they don’t mind well-behaved away fans in there (a lot of pubs near stadia are home fans only, there’s always a pub dedicated to away fans but Arsenal’s one is always rammed plus it’s plastic pint glasses, so I prefer to have to walk an extra 15 mins and enjoy my six pre-match pints of cider at the Faltering Fullback, with a proper glass made of glass, in the best beer garden in Finsbury.)
This just crushes me -would love nothing to have this here in America - great named pubs with a football match within walking distance. Instead, we have tailgates and American football - fun in its own right, but often left with pretty good food and sh*t watered down beer.
Thanks for watching!

I'm from Taunton and you managed to go the wrong way each time to get to the nearest signpost !! Was a laugh to watch
Thanks for watching -Taunton looks like a great town!

Interesting - didn't know about Free Houses...

Melton Mowbray is pronounced more like "Mowbree". It's in the East Midlands.
The FC24 / football commentator that goes by Guy must be from this town...ha
Iv'e been to England i was not very impressed with this Wetherspoons it was very small and they would not sell Sloppy Joes.
Sloppy joes! Haha
