I really enjoy ScVi, but it does have room for improvement. If Gamefreak continues the open world, non-linear method, it would be nice if they added level scaling
I have been having fun with it, and I think they have absolutely been improving things that people have been begging for. The animations, the beautiful non-linear lands to explore with many hidden areas, the textures and models, the battling. I felt it was challenging too it was nice. I LOVE QUAQUAVEL and inteleon
At first, I was bitter about it being a traditional game but I’ve really grown to like it the more I play. It genuinely feels like an adventure game which is perfect for Pokemon
I grew out of pokemon a long time ago, but contrary to all reason I find myself eager wanting to play this one. The problem is that, if it turns out to be a mistake, it will be a really pricey one.
I came back to it with zelda edition oled switch, zelda totk and pokemon violet. I do not regret it one bit despite performance issues in pokemon. I also bought pokemon sword and enjoyed it thoroughly. I'd recommend and in a bad case you can resell everything not losing much or wait for switch 2 now.
You don’t want to, trust me. The game mechanics are really nice additions to Pokémon‘s gameplay, but the constant shaking when walking 3m or the camera and shadows switching mid battle, or trainers inside other trainers in trainer battles or the glitching through walls or the spots on the map that can softlock you etc.
I don't get how the game can run soo bad and look so bad and be soo low resolution and no AA? when there's much better looking open world games like zelda. I honestly don't think game freak have the talent in their dev team to make a good 3d looking game.
Textures, shadows, background terrain, art style, and overall performance really let me down. I'd even go as far as to say these games are outright ugly.
They should've done level scaling to make the game more interesting. I stopped playing with the framerate issues and bugs, so went for an alternative. I started that since I ended up playing Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth on my PS4 Slim since Pokemon had started to go downhill.
Scarlet and Violet are my favourite Pokemon Games (besides Legends Arceus) by a landslide. While I like a lot of Pokemon designs of the older generations. I really came to hate the sprite based games and I never finished but also lost my copy of Sapphire around 21 years ago. I just wished for 3D games and them being meatier and more open. My next game in the franchise was White2 (belonging to my younger brother) which I played around 10 years ago I can barely remember any of it but I know I hated all starter mons so much that I just threw mine into the box and used an Arcanine as my main instead. I did beat the Elite 4 but couldn't be bothered with any post game content. I borrowed Pokemon X from a friend which has one of my favourite starter mon with Fennekin. but the overall gameplay was pretty meh. I played the first 15 mins of Sun on Emulator but dropped it. Played Shield on Emulator and I didn't hate it that much there still was annoying stuff but we were getting there. Legends Arceus was the first Pokemon game I bought since Sapphire and I loved it I had so much fun with the game which was the reason I pre-ordered Violet (picked because of Ceruledge). Violet is my most played Switch Game with 270h which is more then double my second most played game Mario Kart 8 (Legends Arceus has 90h TotK 85 and BotW 80)
@@panditas7679 depends on the type legends arceus is less formulaic but long term playing for example shiny hunting violet is awesome. I only play violet nowadays
I was stuck on alola gen 7 Never enjoyed swsh and just yesterday thinking of playing violet on getting a switch lite to play every exclusive my little bro didn’t get when I gave away my switch to him cous I fell off of loving pokemon since sword and shield
It's worth remembering that Scarlet and Violet and Legends Arceus were developed at the same time. Arceus came out of the company's experimentation with implementing an open world into S/V. Arceus released first - primarily because its a much smaller game and so development finished faster - but also because it tied into the remakes of Diamond and Pearl, that had released previously, and wasn't introducing any Gen 9 creatures. The game has about half of the pokemon species that appear in the base game of S/V - so it has a much greater focus on the real time battling systems. S/V were too far along in development to really capitalise on the successes of L:A... but I would bet that gen 10 development is looking VERY closely at bringing across what worked in L:A into an open world like S/V.
I agree, both SV and PLA seemed like experiments and it feels like SV suffered a lot more because of it, as you mentioned the scope was too much. Probably down to having less resources, aging hardware and poor optimisation. I’d imagine that Gen 10 will get the best of both games so I stay hopeful
@@JamaTheGamer It's the Zelda influence. When BoTW launched everyone became excited about a pokemon game in that sort of world. Sw/Sh dipped its toe into that water - but it had already been in development when BoTW launched. The thing about Zelda though is that it's world is largely empty... There aren't always a lot of NPCs or enemies to render on screen - and they generally only appear in small groups when they do... Compare to Pokemon where that world has to be teeming with life - Pokemon and trainers literally everywhere... It's obviously going to have an impact on performance. kitikami and the blueberry academy are noticeably smaller areas - and the performance in both seems much better as a result. Paldea is just too big with too many things to render in it for the hardware.
@@RG-Zeldaplayer yeah BOTW has been a big influence for sure. Zelda also wasn’t released until they were absolutely ready though, whereas Pokemon is held hostage by this 3 year release schedule. Pokemon is a victim of its own success in a way

In my opinion Scarlet and Violet was always one of the best game if not THE best. I only had 1 or 2 crashes, which sure doesn’t usually happen and shouldn’t. But with auto save it doesn’t cause any issues, so honestly don’t get the sentiment of this game having a lot of glitches. Other than that I see no flaws, Amazing new Pokémon, Open structure (which can cause level problems but it’s pretty clear when your under leveled for stuff.) Big world with lots of exploration, Amazing and I mean AMAZING story especially in post game, 3 different story arch’s, Allowing Pokémon out of pokeballs, Sandwhiches making finding certain types of Pokémon and shinies more easy to find. I absolutely loved this game when I first got it around a month after launch and the pros outweigh the cons by 1000 tons, and I don’t understand how people hated it, I feel like fans of Pokémon for whatever reason gravitative more to the older games, specifically the gba and ds games, and are less welcoming to new games, but idk, I might just have a dumb filthy casual opinion.

I mean as always pokemon has pros and cons but since the switch era the mainline suffers from too much stuff added but useless The pros of SV the same with other pokemon: Great story (not ground breaking but its still fun to tag along), great music pokemon never fails with how hype their music was and SV is no exception, battling system pokemon always have one of the best battling system and tera is very much better than Z or Dynamax, the texture on the mons is also really nice added more into it Now the cons as a lot of badly integrated switch game it has performance issue, a lot of performance issue, if pokemon is in PC we wpuld already have MHW level pokemon game by now but nintendo have a chokehold on pokemon so no chance, as I said they wanna do alot but its ultimately useless I like how more open it is but they ended up to barren and the world actually feels empty, online is always a problem because nintendo always tried to make their own internet which is very bad with raids. Can they improve? Yes and they have to improve, my hope is that switch 2 will fix a lot of performance issue and pokemon ZA will be integratted far better than SV since they seems to take the time now and slowly releasing the game, which will be after the switch 2 launch (since they have a lot of good idea in SV compare to SW just execute very poorly). In emulator both SW and SV is really fun since a lot of problem is fixed by the fans.
An opinion that will get you crucified. Still, you can take me with you to the grave. I enjoy this the most of the mainline Switch titles- even more than LA even though I did enjoy that game.
It's a safe place here. If you enjoyed the games that's all that matters. The core of Pokemon remains the same throughout all the mainline games so I'd say I've enjoyed all of them, just some games a lot more than others and 1 or 2 that I may never revisit
im currently playing it only because i wanted a tinkaton pokemon,i dont like it, there is way too much dialogue every 5 seconds im stopped by story dialogue its annoying it took me 3 days because i kept stopping because it was boring just to finish getting out of the school. now im lost in a canyon somehwere, i loved pokemon xy and oras but every game after that is getting worse, i want to play pokemon to collect and battle not sit through endless talking with npcs and cutscenes and needlessly too big areas to get lost in. i dont play for the nice scenery i play for the pokemon. thats why its called pokemon.
Isn’t that quite ironic. You criticize this game for not letting a you get a move on, and yet this is the first time where you can just ignore trainer battles entirely if it’s not for story progression.
that was bad too i needed them for trainer xp and i got lost i didnt have a single badge and i got a taxi driver with a level 60 something corvinight i think. its way too easy to get lost. breath is the wild is its own game pokemon doesnt need to copy it. catch battle trade i dont want to play endless meadows.@@Mojo1356
My thoughts… The end game story was terrible…. AI robot mommy was super cringe. The legendary Pokemon were okay…. I’d rather be able to pick the Pokémon I ride around with. Riding the same Pokemon around got old quick. The robot Pokémon like iron bundle and that vacuum Pokémon are the least creative Pokémon concepts I’ve seen plenty of fan art to know creating new Pokemon that are unique can be done. PLEASE ADD VOICE ACTORS IM TIRED OF READING A MID STORY Team Star was terrible The gym battles were so weird (emotional spectrum test I’m looking at you….) Nemona… perfect battle partner. Arven… is not bad The frame rate issues are garbage Open world was nice but they need to spread out the Pokémon more. I was tired of seeing that pig everywhere I go. Terra is very cool and unique but why the giant hat that shows the type? Kinda goofy Oh and I love the regional variation Pokemon they need to keep doing that…. Hissuan Growlithe chefs kiss. The immersion for me wasn’t 100% Hopefully next time they do better.. scarlet and violet was weird and didn’t mesh together well though the open world Pokemon world was really fun to explore.
Yeah the robot parent thing is a bit weird still and I hate that the legendary is reduced to basically being a HM slave. Voice Actors are 100% needed to elevate the story man, a lot of the cutscenes felt off because of it. It was okay not having VAs in the pixel era but in this 3D era it hurts the game. SV is a weird game for me. It feels like a fun adventure game but then it’s also one of the worst pokemon games in other aspects like performance and presentation. Hopefully Gamefreak will learn from this but I doubt it
The most simple way I can break it down is some of the best characters and story in Pokemon games, a fun open world, and ass performance/graphics. I agree the end to the story could have been a little better, I didn’t mind it too much. for a Pokémon game the story was actually good and somewhat emotions at points where compared to games like sword and shield which I literally can’t remember the story. I 100% agree on voice actors to, I think the robot scene even wouldn’t have been as awkward if you could hear the emotion in Arvens voice as he figured out his dad (played violet) is dead. I thjnk it wasn’t a bad twist just kinda rushed and thrown in at the last minute, which tbh is a great way to describe this game overall 😂
About the voice acting it probably won’t work in a Pokémon game since if they do it it will take longer to develop and the main reason why it won’t work because we get to name the character so t by the voice actor would probably have to say a lot of names to Unlike Zelda breath of the wild they did. Voice acting because the main character link doesn’t have to talk so the other characters can talk and speak but not link because it’s the main character and the player Unlike Pokémon it won’t work with voice acting because it’s a player character who can name their character and like be them
I wouldn’t mind a game being like that- it would get us as close as we can to the intensity some of the battles in the anime have, but it doesn’t need that to be good- look at Dragon Quest and basically any JRPG from Atlus.
It just looks like garbage. People gotta stop buying these games so they are forced to actualy make something with quality. Also they've been making the same exact mistakes since the first open world pokemon.. It's just so ugly looking and you'd expect something with some actual substance but people just gobble their games up. They can't keep getting away with it and people need to hold them to a higher standard.
the games look and run terrible, yes. But god damn are Scarlet and Violet some of the most fun pokemon games we've gotten in a long long time, and thats what brings the attention. I agree, Scarlet and Violets launch was frankly, an absolute disaster, but holding Gamefreak to a higher standard won't change anything, it's getting nintendo to stop ordering gamefreak to shill out garbage to players. You can see the effort and passion put into these games by how fun they are, but Nintendos poor handling of the pokemon company is what is seriously holding the games back.
@@farlow1798 It's just so weird when Nintendo releases are generaly quality over quantity. Just seems very strange that Pokemon of all things is handled like this. Sure it'll make guaranteed money but making a good 'pokemon' game would be way better and while most likely sell way more and generate more goodwill for the future. Maybe it's the switch that is the problem with it's limited hardware. It's just a mystery to me when they squander a golden gooze like this.
I feel like it’s a combination of many different things Pokémon is soo successful, Nintendo and the pokemon company want a release every 2-3 years. This leads to poor performance as they don’t get nearly enough time to polish and optimise in an industry which game dev is taking longer on general. Scarlet and Violet is a really fun game and because of that, the fan base have allowed this mess to slip through this time. I don’t think the fan base will accept it happening a second time. I wish all Pokémon games were top down. Like the first few gens. They had so much charm. This looks like crap IMO.
I do miss the old top down games. I’d love for them to do it again for a new gen
@@JamaTheGamer idk after palworld i realized I had to convince myself I was having fun with Pokémon
@@ZentaBon its interesting you say that as I can understand what you mean. Pokémon has room to evolve
No, they're not. Next question please.
Play Pokemon black white and the sequels. They have the best story of any Pokemon game by far
So which should i get legend arceus or violet?
@@panditas7679 depends on the type legends arceus is less formulaic but long term playing for example shiny hunting violet is awesome. I only play violet nowadays

Pokemon is a victim of its own success in a way
I feel like I got bored with this game fast. Legends Arceus is the best pokemon experience I've had in my life. Violet and Scarlett is perfect for competitive gameplay. But it's just a kids game now and I'm outgrowing it. I need to grow up and move on to more adult games. If they can somehow make a Pokemon game that comes with a more serious and darker tone. That would be great.
Buggy soulless mess
Didn’t find anything fun about the game?

ps2 graphics with no clue how to make an open-world adventure. If this came out 2004 it would look good now in 2024 its a disgrace. Unfortunately, pokemon was always going to go open world and Nintendo don't have the power to make it look real. Said that they should still do a pokemon Sword type remake of Pokemon Heart Gold.
Bro, the only thing that matters is you enjoyed this pokemon experience. I did too, I think the game has a lot of issues but I know what my biases are. I’ve played pokemon since I was 6 so I will always have time for these games no matter what state they’re in. Let’s hope Legends Z-A can build on the past 2 games and keep improving the experience 🙏🏾👍🏾
@@JamaTheGamer Yeah I’m extremely hyped for legends Z-A considering how much I liked legends arceus, also considering how much missed potential kalos had just because of the games easy difficulty. I just want to also say I respect your opinion and everyone else’s opinion, sometimes I feel like I get a little over dramatic with my opinions so that could possibly give people the wrong impression, so just wanted to clear that up.
i never get why people thought the two games would grow from each other, released barely 9 months apart
like they were never going to be similar - really telling how people don't know about game development
anyway to the question: ITS BAD
So they still haven't fix the bugs?
Haven’t played it recently but there hasn’t been any news about updates improving stability and fixing performance so I’d assume not. They’ve moved onto the next project
I ordered this game few minutes ago after watching some videos i canceled it.
😂😂
Short answer: no
I think SwSh is wayy too overhated for what it is
i just feel like this game is so.... sad, i feel like this game is generations behind... i just feel like it's not new.... it just seems... just boring.. the only thing that's makes the game difficult would be learning the new pokemon...

what is that background music dude it’s so good??

If pokemon is going open world why not bring it to the xbox, playstation and pc?
nintendoo will be mad
Any one have a vivillon pokeball version
I mean as always pokemon has pros and cons but since the switch era the mainline suffers from too much stuff added but useless
The pros of SV the same with other pokemon: Great story (not ground breaking but its still fun to tag along), great music pokemon never fails with how hype their music was and SV is no exception, battling system pokemon always have one of the best battling system and tera is very much better than Z or Dynamax, the texture on the mons is also really nice added more into it
Now the cons as a lot of badly integrated switch game it has performance issue, a lot of performance issue, if pokemon is in PC we wpuld already have MHW level pokemon game by now but nintendo have a chokehold on pokemon so no chance, as I said they wanna do alot but its ultimately useless I like how more open it is but they ended up to barren and the world actually feels empty, online is always a problem because nintendo always tried to make their own internet which is very bad with raids.
So is this game worthless if you only buy the base game?
Naaah it’s a good experience on its own and the DLC is alright
im currently playing it only because i wanted a tinkaton pokemon,i dont like it, there is way too much dialogue every 5 seconds im stopped by story dialogue its annoying it took me 3 days because i kept stopping because it was boring just to finish getting out of the school. now im lost in a canyon somehwere, i loved pokemon xy and oras but every game after that is getting worse,
i want to play pokemon to collect and battle not sit through endless talking with npcs and cutscenes and needlessly too big areas to get lost in. i dont play for the nice scenery i play for the pokemon. thats why its called pokemon.
Sounds like you prefer the more linear styles of the older games. I replayed ORAS late last year, great game. I like both styles tbf

Palworld is better ngl
There’s no way you think this is the best story in the franchise when that title clearly goes to gen 5
I think SV is one of the better stories in recent years. It’s not better than Gen 5
Think it’s the worst Pokémon game ever made Imo.
How come
This game is worth a dixie cup of dog shit. Gen 9 is the worst games i the entire franchise.
My thoughts…
The end game story was terrible…. AI robot mommy was super cringe.
The legendary Pokemon were okay…. I’d rather be able to pick the Pokémon I ride around with.
Riding the same Pokemon around got old quick.
The robot Pokémon like iron bundle and that vacuum Pokémon are the least creative Pokémon concepts
I’ve seen plenty of fan art to know creating new Pokemon that are unique can be done.
PLEASE ADD VOICE ACTORS IM TIRED OF READING A MID STORY
Team Star was terrible
The gym battles were so weird (emotional spectrum test I’m looking at you….)
Nemona… perfect battle partner.
Arven… is not bad
The frame rate issues are garbage
Open world was nice but they need to spread out the Pokémon more. I was tired of seeing that pig everywhere I go.
Terra is very cool and unique but why the giant hat that shows the type? Kinda goofy
Oh and I love the regional variation Pokemon they need to keep doing that…. Hissuan Growlithe chefs kiss.
The immersion for me wasn’t 100%
Hopefully next time they do better.. scarlet and violet was weird and didn’t mesh together well though the open world Pokemon world was really fun to explore.
@@JamaTheGamerthere’s only so much GF can do since TPC won’t give them the time they need and deserve.
About the voice acting it probably won’t work in a Pokémon game since if they do it it will take longer to develop and the main reason why it won’t work because we get to name the character so t by the voice actor would probably have to say a lot of names to
Unlike Zelda breath of the wild they did. Voice acting because the main character link doesn’t have to talk so the other characters can talk and speak but not link because it’s the main character and the player
Unlike Pokémon it won’t work with voice acting because it’s a player character who can name their character and like be them

The newer pokemon are inferior. Just facts.
I don't care about anything after Gen3.
Pokemon will never go full action rpg get over it and play something else.
I hope not. Action RPG are never as good as people thing they are. It is the worse part of Palworld.
I feel like it’s a combination of many different things
Pokémon is soo successful, Nintendo and the pokemon company want a release every 2-3 years.
The switch hardware is dated and they’re probably pushing the system to its limits.
@@farlow1798Nintendo may have helped to confound The Pokemon Company, but they aren’t in charge of it. TPC is their own thing that also calls the shots for the franchise. Christ- it’s insulting how so many fans don’t seem to get how ownership of this franchise works and why TPC is easily the true villain of this story.
@@JamaTheGamerNintendo doesn’t call the shots for when Pokemon games get released. They just hold the rights to publishing games.
Also, the actual reason is that TPC needs GF to keep pumping games out so they can make their money from what actually makes them the biggest franchise ever: merchandise, the anime, and the card game.
