Very good, as always! A few weeks ago I was painting an orc and tried to reproduce technic of painting less and less of the flesh areas using brighter colors on each new layer (I had in mind a video you have about painting big goliath dudes) and it turned out pretty cool. I'm still struggling quite a bit when trying to paint more pink'ish skin tones tho. I don't have speedpaints, but I have a local wash that I believe will allow me to reproduce what you did in this one for the soldier's flesh. Hyped to finishing assemble a few dudes for frostgrave and paint them.
Awesome! I appreciate you watching and for sharing! 🙂 Speed or Contrast Paint (guilliman flesh) are fantastic base layers for skin. But in my opinion they aren't one coat solutions if you want them to pop.
Trying this out now as I slowly paint through my Soviet horde army. Curious on the model you started with Sand Golem. I noticed you left the webbing and belt unpainted. What paint did you use for them? I tried Bony Matter on them but not sure I like it.
I’m not sure they were really noticeable on this pose. I like this for a reference though. Green grey for webbing/straps and a brown belt images.app.goo.gl/V5cMUyAK48WkneYRA
Kinda looks like Zandri Dust the uniform colours
Nice tutorial.
Hinestly speed paints of The Army Painter give me opposed feelings (love-hate I would say😢). I like them, but in the end I end up painting with different techniques that have nothing to do with speed painting and the minis get me much more time than I expect.
Also the reactivation ability of those paintings makes me still hard to control them.
Gotta say I really laugh at your pronuntiation of Vallejo ( Valeihou). 😂
😂 I would feel odd trying to call it Vai-eh-ho. Can’t even pretend to do it correctly. 😂
