thank you your videos are really helping. will most grade 7 be at this standard? my piano teacher plays some to sight read but their much harder than this however the book she has is from 2010.. thanks
The current syllabus came out in 2011. I have many more resources available on my website for Aural Training www.music-online.org.uk/p/aural-trainer.html
thanks , this video was very helpful ! Also , I'm just wondering how much should i actually spend practising aural. Do you know how many marks this section is worth ? Thanks again. Also , i'm completely hoping that I will get an easy one of these, probs not the best attitude to have. Any tips for nerves?
Hi, thanks for your comment. The Aural section of the exam is worth 18 marks and I would recommend being well prepared if you are aiming for a distinction. Regarding nerves, again the best remedy is confidence, which comes from being well prepared. Try my E Aural Trainer playlist for practice and this should give you a better feeling of preparedness.
@@MusicOnlineUK Thankyou , I have gone through every video , and I am just going to try not stress. Fingers crossed! Also , thankyou very much fro the playlist !It is extremely helpful and has boosted my confidence
For sight singing (if that's want you mean), officially 15 seconds, just enough time to try it once through yourself, although it could vary a little between examiners.
Best singing lower part for grade 7 aural on youtube!!! THANK YOU!!!

You're so welcome!
Very helpful
+Ruth Gibson Thank you for commenting. Are you taking this Grade soon?
Perhaps end of year as I fractured my left little finger so concentrating on the Aural and modulations etc.
Sorry right finger
Sorry to hear that - at least you'll have time to concentrate on supporting tests.
Will we get an extract of the music to look at in the exam?
Yes you will.
MusicOnline UK will it be the same for singing the lower part?
@@caitlindaniels9009 You only get a printed copy for the Sight Singing, not the melodic memory test (lower part).
@@RobertKay Oops, replied from my personal channel, lol. Anyway, the answer is the same. Hope that helps.
Thank you everyone
will the examiner play the key chord and starting note again, like you just did before you played the bass line?
Yes you get them again after about 15 seconds preparation time.
This has really helped! Thank you!
You are very welcome. Thank you for leaving a comment.
I have a new question though. How long do you have to practise before you actually sing in the exam?
For sight singing (if that's want you mean), officially 15 seconds, just enough time to try it once through yourself, although it could vary a little between examiners.
Ok. Thank you!
Thank you!!!!!
Half of the time, I’m tempted to close my ears to block out the bass line😂😂
Good idea. As long as you don't close your ears and block out both lines. 😜
will the examiner actually let you do that?
@@meiqinlin7882 You mean, close your ears? LOL
very helpful, thanks a lot!! If there will be more example, it will be great....hahahaha
I have a lot more examples here www.music-online.org.uk/p/aural-trainer.html
