@@roar104 The first wave was not as deadly as the second (let´s hope it doesn´t mutate in that way) and we have a far better medical system. In short the lower lethality for this pandemic is more than given right now.
Speaking to the Waffle House scale, that is 100% true. We actually had a tornado take off a wall at the waffle house near my house when I was growing up and they never even closed. Allegedly the people inside didn't even take shelter but that's anecdotal from around the town. But there is absolutely camera footage of the tornado taking out the wall and nobody even left after it had passed. They stayed open during renovation and everything.
Regarding the thing about struggling with readjusting to social interactions, I'll give some of my own anecdote. I live alone, and my work moved to being entirely remote, and I've very, very seldom seen friends the past year. Going to the supermarket or doing errands that requires being out in public, generally makes me incredibly anxious about being around crowds. Between, those I'm noticing I'm more uncomfortable with small talk or eye contact and trip over myself if it ever comes up. Going possibly weeks without much in the way of an actual conversation with another person. Granted, I'm already an introvert, but the isolation from the pandemic made those tendencies way worse. And after a solid year of it, it's going to take adjustment.
Also a bit dangerous, idk how these irl stream work if they actually say their exact location. Like it's fine if they were around the area and close by, but who knows? There might be some crazies in their audience that knows exactly where they are and go out of their way to go there and having that possibility of following you home. Like that one stalker where they found this girl's home bc he saw a sign or something reflected on her eyes from a picture. Maybe I'm just paranoid and overthinking things, but better safe than sorry.
@@nuclearnadal3116 Ironically that's probably why there was a flour and pasta shortage instead of, say, a rice shortage. France being known for its pastries kinda implies that flour is considered basic necessity which they rushed to buy en masse. I hope my explanation made sense to you.
I love Connor's comment at 11:45. It definitely aged so much. Cool to see how only about a year ago he never wanted to do an IRL stream yet now he does them from time to time is kinda crazy. Just shows how much people can change if they allowed themselves to grow.
Probably some poor kid who was never taught proper ethics. With this new technology making privacy incredibly vulnerable, it's more important to educate our kids properly but I feel it's going to take a while for schools to catch up. And even then, rotten apples will never be completely eradicated.

When they were discussing social skills after quarantine I was surprised that they didn't see the issue, as someone with social anxiety who already didn't know how to talk to people or make friends my progress was reset, and I'm lost and nervous in any social situation now, the only human I talk to outside of my family and college professors is my girlfriend who I still don't know how I got.
1:26:00 this is actually a really huge problem especially for the younger (child to teen) demographic. I work in education and our fear is that this pandemic is stunting the development of social skills of our youth which would lead to more cases of depression and bullying.
I mean tbh idk how much tickets are for these conventions but I'm not wasting it for a stupid cold, well, considering Corona I wouldn't and couldn't, but back before the world had no virus I would've still gone.
I'm glad you shead light on the balding subject (not that you in anyway needed to) because it actually helped me quite a bit tbf I am a 25 year old female - i used to have really thick hair but over the last year it had started thinning and i basically have female pattern boldness, like the hair of an old lady. Its actually a lot more common then people think and you do have to find a way to just deal with it but hearing you speak about it honestly just made me feel less crappy about it. Thanks guys - love the video as always 💜
About the socializing thing, it's the anxiety. Having to be in a work environment again. Actually seeing people when you present. Having to do small talk (when probably still nothing is happening is even worse). The judgemental looks if you're still acting cautious. Not wanting to stand to close. The amount of people in general coming together in one place... In general socializing will be really exhausting for a while, more than before. To be honest when we had fewer restrictions during summer and the company had a drink in the open air, I was quite anxious. They also served finger food... like dafuq. People stood closer and closer together. I didn't stay for long. My first IRL presentation for a meeting was really exhausting and awkward. Like doing a presentation where someone is on call and the other people sit far away from each other is freaking weird. The whole atmosphere was different even when were not that formal with each other. Like at work it is hard to stick to the rules for corona if other people are only doing it half-heartedly, there is more pressure than in your free time. Even when they say it's okay.
I have terrible anxiety. I have gone to the hospital before for it like an panic attack. And this quarantine is making it easier for me to talk to random people and giving me less social anxiety. Before I was like I am scared to ask the cashier something but now I am like not even caring anymore
@@icepenguin7278 sometimes exposure therapy is the best. Worked for my calling issue. Except I still have trouble calling the doctor and dentist. But for work I'm fine, because I had to haha. Anyways, keep it up :D
About the social skills after isolation part, I've personally had a hard time remembering how to talk to people. Normally I would have to rehearse my lines on what to order from a subway or what not, but some of those lines have been out of practice. Literally was stuttering trying to exchange some dollars into quarters. It's not a first world problem for me, but I'm also just normally really shy and introverted... so meh
I'm pretty introverted too but somehow I never have this problem myself. Whenever I go out in public after being at home alot I can adjust pretty easily. But I know this is not the same for everyone, just sharing my opinion. My social skills are pretty much the same if I am reclusive for a while or if I have an outgoing day.

My dad has been almost completely bald for decades now. But now that he changed his asthma meds, abit of hair has started to grow back, more and more every week and he seems like the happiest grumpy geezer in the world right now.
I can relate with Connor's balding issue. Props to him for coming to terms with it and being able to accept it. My family has a history with hair loss, so basically my genetics weren't the best. I'm in my early 20's and I'm already experiencing hair loss, to the point that people around are starting to point it out. Fortunately, nobody has even been rude enough to make fun of it or anything. I tried several ways to prevent it but none of them really worked. I just decided to accept the fact that it'll happen whether I do something about it or not. But yeah, when someone points out that you're balding it still feels embarassing. I just try to live with it. After all, the hair on a person's head is only just a small part of who they are.
My hair started thinning in my late teens, and by my early 20's I had a noticeable bald patch. After a while I just said fuck it and shaved my head. Never looked back. It's liberating not to give a fuck about whether people can tell, and hair is a lot easy to manage when you've basically for none. Shave the dome, brother. Trying to fight hair loss is like trying to fight aging - you'll never win and you'll spend far too much money in the attempt. Why be embarrassed by something that happens to huge swathes of men? Embrace it! You might even find your prefer the shaved look - I certainly did, and that was after years of wearing my hair long in school. It's now minimal maintenance and looks infinitely neater. Plus, if you hate it, you can just let your hair grow back in. Worth a try at least, and if you find you like it, you never have to worry about whether someone might notice or comment on it again (as if they were telling you something you didn't already know!)
On my way to thirties and already experiencing thinning so I just shaved my head clean. Saved me a ton of money on Shampoo and drying myself after a bath.
Bald men are sexy- when they have confidence in themselves 😊 you guys should check out @Baldcafe ! As a woman who likes men and women, bald is HOT lol and if someone doesn't like you just because you're bald, you're better off without them!
The problem with the cycling special can be summarized like this: everyone was invested in each member or group as if it were a straight-laced sports competition, but in reality it was just another episode with drama and curveballs thrown in. People didn't really catch on, so they took it to the sports bar like European football fans.
Though on the flip side, discussing it like it is serious, even if you don't really care, is a lot of fun. It's like the Monty Python's "Argument Clinic", except free and no time limit.
Connor before: (Having problems of grabbing the last piece of a food in a restaurant) Connor after: "Talking to people is not that hard" Character development!
My family gave me pretty solid genetics, no allergies and no diseases but there was a catch. Waking up to your pillow covered in hair is not exactly a nice way to find out that you are balding and especially not when you are at the ripe old age of 17. I was pretty scared of losing my hair especially since i still had a year left in high school, i was literally shedding hair it was insane. My dad helped me through it because he's seen a thing or two since he gave me the gene to begin with, so a short while after i was 18 i told my dad to help me shave it off. And i can say that it was easily one of the best decisions i've made, i had to accept it at such an early age but shaving it off was such a relief and i know a lot of people are going to experience hair loss in their life. It just felt nice that Connor brought up the subject because it does hit close to home.
Agree and glad Joey said it. He should get jacked too and become the golden god he is haha ( seriously Connor, you have the discipline. get ripped, grow the beard and become Kratos 💪)
As far as it goes for streamers/ youtubers being nice. My experience is I was on the phone call with Conner for the speed dating video my call got cut. But I was super nervous and he let me have extra time. He was super nice about the whole thing.
52:55, honestly I’m only 16 and my Grampa started losing his hair when he was like 18, as long as I can make it through my last year of high school with my hair I don’t give a single fuck how bald I am after.
I'm gonna say this: loosing your hair when you're a woman (especially a young woman) is a different kind of difficult. I'm still trying to deal with losing my hair. Hopefully getting there one day ✌
Can somebody put the Friends intro over clips of the cycling challenge just so the Line "It's like you're always stuck in second gear "is playing while Garnt is cycling only in second gear?
I'm a 30 year old female who's been dealing with thinning hair/hair loss since I was 19. Definitely fucks with your self esteem. I feel their pain lol.
Connor: Yea irl streamers are kinda weird huh Connor a year later: *does irl stream with mouse and chris* This man really does everything when he sets his mind to it 💯
Before the pandemic started, I had gone down the youtube rabbit hole of frugal living. I ended up buying a bulk amount of food and house supplies, and making about 6 months worth of frozen meals. And then the pandemic hit, and I just lived at home with my room of toilet paper watching the world burn down around me.
The talk about balding really relates to me cause i've been balding ever since i was 16 so i've accepted it but the insecurities build up the moment someone takes a step back suprised that it could happen to someone that young. It's not the jokes that get me i welcome it, its when i have to explain it someone genuinely suprised by it and i can't blame them. WELP anyways great episode.
I lost a lot of my hair because of genetics and a eating disorder. I used to cry myself to sleep and it caused my mental health to deteriorate even more. Im a girl and 19 and it was terrifying. But like connor idrc anymore, eventually im shaving my head and ill be a cool bald grandma.
i lost hair during mine as well and it was terrifying. but ive been in recovery for about 2 1/2 years and i think it grew back mostly! hope yours can as well :”)
One thing I’ll say from an introvert’s perspective is that prior to the pandemic, I tried to avoid social situations and interactions, but I knew that I _had_ to push past it for some basic things like going to the grocery store or going to work, and it felt like my hesitance to leave home was an issue of mine that I needed to push past. But now I’ve gotten used to not doing it all, and I can make more excuses for not leaving. So I have left home fewer than 10 times since March 2020 (as of October 2022). Getting groceries delivered now feels normal, I’m used to buying everything on Amazon, working from home is now normal and more widely available, and I’ve normalized in my head saying no every time someone asks if I want to go somewhere. And among people who are excited to finally go out in the world and do things, and those who ignored the pandemic and continued going out during it, my perception is that they still see me as just as weird/pathetic as they would have prior to the pandemic, even though all the individual things I’m doing are more normalized. But maybe that’s just because my dad ignored the pandemic and never changed his opinion, so he’s super judgy about it and I project that attitude onto others.
Serious, personal note regarding baldness. As a bald dude in my early 20's, I can appreciate being bald as opposed to having hair. I never liked having hair, and I never miss bad hair days, annoyed scalp etc. I've seen many a moon in my time, and this is why I learned to appreciate baldness on my own person as an option. The future of my looks, as it were. Every 3rd day I shave it to completion, a process I've learned to appreciate, much like clipping nails and taking a bath. I feel mental health empowerment having this haircut, as it is an inevitable outcome. Also I am the butt of jokes in my inner circle, but only cuz I don't give a fuck, and that it isn't an insecurity of mine. I am more fulfilled with my looks than I've ever been, having hair. Can't wait for a proper beard to grow out tho, and I should hit the gym to one day complete this look. I bet you'll look great too Connor.

Not even god can kill Waffle House they are immortal
Yeah, i hate making eye contact with people too, but I can't remember if i avoided it before the pandemic or because of it
Yeah, that part felt a bit shortsighted to me. Isolation can definitely make people more anxious

Also a bit dangerous, idk how these irl stream work if they actually say their exact location. Like it's fine if they were around the area and close by, but who knows? There might be some crazies in their audience that knows exactly where they are and go out of their way to go there and having that possibility of following you home. I started severely balding by the age of 15 and as a girl, people can't shut up n let me be a 21 year old bald woman. Like yeah, I have tried medicines, homeopathic remedies, going to shady places cause my mum wanted me to at least have a normal about of hair. But sorry mom. I'm gonna be bald my entire life and there's nothing we can do about it.
Dang that sounds like a difficult situation. Hope you can work it out. Good luck stranger.

@@opinionatedOG well, I always wanted to shave all my hair off as a teen. But I live in a country where only widows can (and are forced to) do that. Not to mention me plucking my hair out of frustration as a child which caused the balding in the 1st place fucked my hair pretty early on.

Hey son, who is the next guest??? I can't recognize the signature
Good luck to you, maybe in the future someone will help to grow hair through some machine
i lost hair during mine as well and it was terrifying. but ive been in recovery for about 2 1/2 years and i think it grew back mostly! hope yours can as well :”)

Ive been balding since i was 16 and jokes never affected me as well. Its when i have to constantly explain how it happens to someone so young.
Dude props to whoever spent the time to time stamp ALL of their different topics
