Sal. This sounds like the perfect, playable. collection of Western Front military games. I particularly like the idea of using downsized 8 1/2 X 11" scenarios maps. Will there be a full four-year WF campaign game on a small format map? Or will it be a set of shorter scenarios like Normandy, Ardennes, Market Garden, etc.
Great interview Grant! Always appreciate your personal insights and sense of humour! P.S. keep posting playthroughs, however short or long they need to be! Helps me decide if I NEED to pick something up, as well as helping to absorb nuances of gameplay and rules (written rules for me are often like Egyptian hieroglyphics), and it’s always funnier than hell listening to you and Alexander chat!
It's not that people who play on BGA or Vassal always buy the game. It's more that the people who DO buy it probably would not have bought it otherwise. You also have to consider that some people who might have bought it will decide it's not for them, but that's OK. The publisher might disagree. Since you only need one copy of the physical game for multiple people to play in person, I think it's reasonable for the digital plays/sales ratio to not approach 100%. Digital versions also promote and enhance the hobby, which is a rising tide, so to speak.
Great to hear confirmation that Sal's WW1 game is still on the cards. G

The sortie mechanic of Unconditional Surrender clutter up the board and is a gripe of mine. A revision of that mechanic would be welcome.

Good news on GMT status: Orders to date were 762 on 9/10/24
I have the Western Campaigns pre-ordered on P500. Looking forward to it as I don’t have the space or time for the main game.

What is the difference between a designer and a developer ?
