While shooting I've been very conscious of this. Not from watching your excellent video, but just from my own, feel while in the draw. Your video has hit me, that my suspicions where accurate, THANKS !!!
Thank you, thank you. The smoothness at the set up has really evaded me. Using the visual of the elbow dot has really helped while using the band and light bow thus far.
I know this was shot over a year ago but being new to the sport I am watching everything I can to learn. One thing you can do in future videos is let your insert photos or videos run somewhat longer. The split second that they are on the screen isn't enough time to study them. I have watched a ton of your videos and have learned a lot. Thanks for putting out the information to make us out here better shooters.
Love your stuff and Ive been watching for a long time. Throughout the video you show a pull here and there. What I would find REALLY helpful in this (and other videos) is if you did the pull many times from one angle, then the same from one or two different angles. For me, at least, that would make it easier to try and mimic your movement.
hi, its been quite a while since i was regularly doing archery, perhaps 15 years ago your tips are helping me get back into things greatly, thanks i still have the strength but lost the techniques
I started archery classes a month ago and I've got to say your videos have been an invaluable additional help. Just last night my instructor was trying to get my elbow aligned properly so this video is perfectly timed. As a beginner, there is so much to think about as you go through each shot... hopefully I'll get the hang of it, but there are a lot of parallels here to learning to swing a golf club; you have to focus on just one aspect of your shot/swing each time and try to improve that bit and not think about the other things you're doing wrong until you've got a handle on problem (a). Otherwise, it's all a bit overwhelming!
Hi Ashe!! Great videos. Thank you for your time. I have just started archery..3rd week. What i would like to know..is when you look from the back..should your elbow be horisontal to your shoulders and bow arm? Mine is..completely horisontal. And i noticed all the pro's have their elbows slightly pulling up..ay anchor point. Am i doing it wrong? Can you tell me what the degrees of the elbow at anchor point in relation to your bow arm should be?.. Should your elbow be slightly up..or level with your shoulders..before the release. Much appreciated.
Question, I just started with archery(32lbs longbow), I can't get my elbow to go back, it basically bends away from me when I go to my anchor point, will getting used to the draw weight help with that or is it something wrong with my posture?
Ashe, can I suggest a subject for a future video? You already made a nice video about OBS and video delay. Now could you describe how to realize an effective video set up, e.g. where to put the camera for optimal captures, at what height, different view points, where to put the center of the camera to monitor different purposes (e.g. bow hand vs draw elbow, etc)? May have sense?
”Recurve archery is all about movement”. What are your thoughts on lighter weight bows like a longbow? Or does the weight have anything to do with this idea? (I’m thinking of changing my technique to smoother with one continuous movement rather than lifting my bow, rotating upper body and after a second only then draw.) I shoot longbow with a linear draw and have had a lot of good tips from your videos. Thank you.
why I can understand every single word when you are speaking english, but I struggle to understand movie talks???? Jokes apart... thank you from Italy!!!

Any suggestions for compound bow draw elbow movement?

I have a question so when you coming to anchor with your elbow your shoulder and scapula moves as one ?

He’s already made the video you are suggesting.
@@ryrymustardseed3970 can you tell where or provide reference? Thanks!

By weight I mean the a actual weight of the bow, not the draw weight.
@@paulavirmasalo you're referring to the mass of the bow.
Yes, thanks.
First like
this is exactly what i am doing wrong...no elbow movement into anchor...
