I love how well the mod makers managed to weave in so much of the existing fallout lore into the story that I had to remind myself that this wasn't canon.
Truly a magnificent game, and I say "game" rather than "mod" because it's so much what the base game *could* have been, the integration of the (then) new settlement mechanics, the integration of lore from all over the Fallout universe, the quality of the writing, production, modelling, voice acting, & etc. is far above and beyond what anyone should expect from a free "spare time" project. Genuinely exceptional, and I hope everyone who worked on this, that wants to, has the opportunity to work on new, paid, projects in the future. Bless you, makers of Sim Settlements 2, you went so far above and beyond, and it has given an old game a new lease of life. Thank you. And thank you Jon and Claire for committing the hours to really exploring this magnificent achievement!
Hey, that's me! If you mean because Jon didn't use Intimidation to get LaMont to back down, it doesn't really bother me. As he said, she'd still be dangerous if he'd let her live, maybe even attempt to sabotage the HQ, organize raids from some of the other evil factions, that sort of thing. Besides, he already used Intimidation a few parts ago. I'm just happy it got used, even if it was only once.
This mod has almost rivaled the length of Jon’s original Fallout 4 playthroughs 😄 many Kudos to Kinggath and everyone that was involved in this full game!!!
Absolutely one of the best mods ever. It not only adds so much content, but the voice acting is phenomenal and the lore fits the Fallout universe perfectly. Serious props the everyone involved.
When this series started, my elderly mum fell ill. I was doing palliative care including some nights. This series helped me cope through the process. My mum passed 3 months ago and this, the final episode kind of helps with the process of her passing. Thanks SimSettlements 2 and especially thanks Jon for an excellent cocking series.
Jon appears to be coining the phrase: You either die a hero, or live long enough to become worse than the villain you defeated! Get ready for nuclear-armed Mayor Bob to wipe out entire cities to steal people's hats!

Quick computer explanation for why you can't just load the tape on a new computer: you could do this, but it would only be the Magnusson that was created at the moment the tape was made. He'd lose everything developed after that. It's the same reason you can't just take a videogame disk, put it in someone else's console, then load your save game. The game data on the disk is loaded, but nothing after that (that's ROM, Read-Only- Memory). The rest of Magnusson exists on RAM (Random-Access-Memory). This data is lost when the machine is turned off.
While that's correct, there is a counterpoint. You have two brilliant engineers/computer scientists. It should absolutely be possible to dump the RAM to a second non volatile storage (basically what hibernation does on a windows machine) and write a bootloader that loads both the ROM engram and this new secondary storage medium.
@Ceser1999 counter counter point, that'd probably be more difficult/ dangerous than moving the entire unit in terms of data loss. Like moving a critical patient to a new location vs transplanting their brain
@METALFREAK03 that's the thing with digital data. You CAN copy it an infinite amount of times without degrading it. And of your still worried about hardware issues, use Hamming or other SECDED codes
@Ceser1999 not true! While this is theoretically possible, reality is different. The data still needed to be transcribed and a machine can make mistakes for multiple reasons! My personal favorite example is "rowhammer" where you toggle data in a database repeatedly so rapidly that it physically interferes with nearby physical memory! And since it's the digital equivalent of a human brain, a small error can have massive consequences!
There's a super-intelligent lift in 'Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy' that suffers a major crisis of depression when it realises it's only function is to go up and down a lift-shaft. It is eventually reduced to lurking in the basement. A bit like the bog in this episode.

The tape is static and does not and can not store any of the new memories from his time as an AI.

Jon, when you said that the Cryo pods were not reliable because everyone in your vault died except for you. Remember that those other people died only because the Institute and Kellogg specifically turned them all off except for yours letting the other residents die trapped in their pods.
Really you could name and vault that wasn't a control vault (with the exemption of a few like vault 22 from new vegas), we don't even know the percent of control vaults. On top of that, there is evidence they were working with the enclave, which have not been good people in any fallout.
12:50 this is a quirk of Deliverer being an intended unique item being reused by the mod, I believe. It's a good perk but I rarely find it's worth taking advantage of it all the time in liue of entertaining companions like Hancock and Deacon. Don't get me wrong, I take Lone Wanderer but I still use companions for a good part of the game. There is probably a bit more dialogue if you travel with Jake.
Day 261 of requesting Age of Mythology. The fact that Magnusson put together all this stuff as a private citizen without anyone else catching on is both somehow unbelievable and extremely entertaining. Screw the logic, he's a mad genius, and he's got a talking toilet named Reginald.
Good mod but the epitome of anticlimactic. Vault-Tec going to space is nothing new, and the rivalry between magnusson and st. james was obvious from the first holotapes. Like no kidding the protagonist is being used. But that is the deal being made to stop the gunners...
Kingath truly knows and loves the worlds he's modding (sorry if use the wrong pronoun). You know i said i dont wont to buy any creation on Skyrim at all anymore but maybe even if it's not voice acted in german i do it for the bards college. This is just such a great wrap up and reconstruction of everything that was left on the table. Im not keen of ASAMs because i love building in Fallout 4 but this mod is so much more than a lore justification for a building mod. It's great talent and skill with dedication by the entire team to a level that it even lets me rest my distaste of Bethesda lately.
Magnusson is probably supposed to come off as an earnest flirt but still vibes to me as a red-flag icky jagoff. I hope I'm wildly off the mark; Sim Settlements is like a weekly soap opera.

Leave it to Jon to forego a great companion to benefit from Lone Wanderer. It's a good perk but I rarely find it's
worth taking advantage of it all the time in liue of entertaining companions like Hancock and Deacon. Don't get me wrong, I take Lone Wanderer but I still use companions for a good part of the game.
There is probably a bit more dialogue if you travel with Jake.
I detest how derpy the companion AI is in FO4.
Jesus you scared me bud.
Day 261 of requesting Age of Mythology. The fact that Magnusson put together all this stuff as a private citizen without anyone else catching on is both somehow unbelievable and extremely entertaining. Screw the logic, he's a mad genius, and he's got a talking toilet named Reginald.
Day 261 of stop requesting it. If Jon feels like it, he will get to it.
@@Spootington Oh, it's been many more days than that. How do you think I got him to play Zoo Tycoon? We have a system.
❤
You need to go back to Fallout Tale of Two Wastelands and do the DLCs!!!
Good mod but the epitome of anticlimactic. Vault-Tec going to space is nothing new, and the rivalry between magnusson and st. james was obvious from the first holotapes. Like no kidding the protagonist is being used. But that is the deal being made to stop the gunners...
Day 315/1230 of requesting Jon play a game nobody will remember, like Majesty: A Fantasy Kingdom Sim.
Thanks for the content !! Number 400
Jon...when did you do Nuka World?
Magnusson is probably supposed to come off as an earnest flirt but still vibes to me as a red-flag icky jagoff. I hope I'm wildly off the mark; Sim Settlements is like a weekly soap opera.
First
yes you are
