Yay! I was weaned on English sports cars as a kid. My parents had a new Bugeyed Sprite then upgraded to a Healey 3000. My first car was a POS 56 MGA. 20 years later it was a Fiat 124 Spider. I really enjoyed this review as I have always felt that the Miata was what British sports cars evolved into. Kudos to Mazda and thanks to you for sharing this video.

Alright Sara, 5 Penguins means you really liked it ! I bought a 2016 Soft Top Club with the Brembo / BBS package in Artic White with the black aero effects & front splitter. The car is a blast to drive & the ND1 engine even has more torque than the ND2 down low RPMs. Its quick not fast but driving thru the gears every one gives you a pull. What you never saw coming ... its my daily driver in 4 season Northern Illinois. I put the winter tires on this car & when the snow flies its really equally fun because the chassis with the driver inside is 50 % front 50 % back in weight. So if your not in need of space this roadster has been absolutely a trouble free blast. Thru all the worst weather conditions this car has performed way beyond all I expected. Mazda really did a great job.

Loved this review! I had an RF and agree, it just looks better. It’s also more comfortable and liveable day to day. Those painted tops on the doors that carry into the dash, they flow from the very visible hood and fenders, bringing the lines of the car into the cabin. A really nice design touch. They are quicker than people expect, but they also just launch so beautifully if you stamp on it from standstill. Because the diff and gearbox are braced together, there is no backlash. I did find it too small for someone who is 6’2”, not because I couldn’t fit, but because the footwell is so narrow you have absolutely no chance of ever readjusting in it. These are an absolute gem. Yeah there are faster cars, but you nail it when you talk about happiness factor.

Hi Sarah, I’m thinking you should cancel the Bronco and get this Miata, you’re so happy in the car.....it’s for you.

I second this motion to cancel the Bronco. Sarah seems to be more of a street car vs a dirt truck person

I don't know...I sure enjoy the "get it little truck" off road reviews! I can't imagine how hard Sarah would push it in her own Bronco. I would hope there are lots of "oh shit handles" if one were fortunate enough to ride shotgun up the desert trails!

Reminds me of my old 1969 Fiat 124 Sport Spyder, just up to date, getting onto a busy freeway from a slow on-ramp by redlining second then dropping into fifth.

I have a 2019 ND2 (Sept) MX-5 Miata RF GT-Sport Nav+ 2.0 as a daily driver and every day driving it I'm grinning like a 5 year old with the best go-cart ever. It's so much fun it's insane. Miata 4 life.
    Great review Sarah!. 🤟🏻

Hi Sarah, I am so glad you did this car review. I bought a 2019 ND2 in 2019 -- Club with 6 MT and BBS wheels and Brembos. I love my car. Just great fun to drive. I previously had a 1999 NB (5 MT) and 2006 NC (6 MT). I loved those cars too. Mazda "nailed it" with the formula for the MX-5 Miata 30 years ago and it continues to be a great car thru 4 generations. I like your overall approach to car reviews. And I really like your Mr. Dos project. (I know, off topic, but I had to mention the MR2. I never owned one but wish I did back in the day.) I envy your skills. Keep up the great work on vehicles and on these car reviews!

What an impressive company Mazda is, to continue building this fun, low-volume sports car for driving enthusiasts.

The NA's were not low volume! they sold 400,000 the first 7 years. They have sold over 1,000,000 since 1990 most successful sports car ever!

Haven't watched a review in a bit because the car didn't interest me, but the MX-5 is very common in the UK and old ones are great for amateur racing or as a weekend car. I'd love an original because of pop up headlamps 😂
