I live in Buckinghamshire- round the corner from you. . I buy round seed (normally Romanian) in 700gm bags from Indian shop. Don't buy oval shaped seeds as they are for cooking and not growing. The Trick is - I soak my seeds for 2-3 hours in about 20 ml of Tomato feed & in 500 ml of water. Dry the seeds and plant straight away, as wet seeds are difficult to scatter.. No need to wait overnight or for the seeds to sprout. Seedlings appear within 10 days. Every 10 days I keep planting 2 large pots to give me continual growth from April till end of November. I also grow in my small veg patch. Smell of home grown coriander is beautiful that even after washing hands you can still smell it. At the end of season I plant more seeds but in my green house for winter growth. 700 gm seeds can carry on till next year. TIP-- Store seeds in airtight bottle or container.

It's not cooking seeds, its seeds for planting. You can buy from garden centres
First time I bought dhania which we eat from market.After that I collect seeds from those plants and now I always grow from my own seeds.
Do you put them in a dark place or sunlight the Coriander seed
I put them half inches under the soil where they can get sunshine directly.
I soaked them into water for one night also,before spreading.

I too would keep it in basement near the boiler/ furnace as it is warm. I will try this method in mid May as it is too cold now.

Use planting seeds, which can be bought from most garden centres. You can start sowing seeds out in to the ground from April in the UK

Hey did u break the seeda from centre before sowing?
Put the seeds under some cloth or paper and smash it gently with stone or wood.
how did a round container suddenly become an oval container after 10 days ?????
How did your paper towel that you soaked your coriander seeds become green ????? My paper towel remains white even after germination.
