I love how short and to the point these videos are. I can't stand watching a 12 minute video for something that can be explained in a third of the time. Trying this today.
Edit: Subscribed. I tried this with his higher reps tip from his other videos and thought my arms were gonna fall off. Your forearms will *light up*

hhhk20 you got no fucking life bro. People like you who perpetuate hate are what is holding the human race back to unlocking our full evolution potential, maybe you should join a cult or something instead of trolling UA-cam channels spouting rhetoric and credentials, everyone here doesn’t care about specifics, we just care about “improving” if you had any respect for yourself you would respect others opinions and views.

    • @asstaco
      @asstaco 4 роки тому +63

To be honest hhhk20 is partially right, but its a shame he doesnt know how to give constructive criticism without being a douchebag. You are giving us other kinesiologists a bad image. As for the exercises shown in this video; yes they will give you you bigger brachialis but not on account of radial deviation giving you a bigger stimulus but because it stimulates the muscle in a DIFFERENT way, as in it engages different motoric units inside the muscle.
The video is just fine and gives good advice to regular people who just want to better their pshysique. If you as a person with a kinesiology degree think youtube is the place to look for new information, then i think you dont deserve to call yourself a professional. Maybe there are a few channels on here that have information based on actual studies, otherwise i suggest you learn how to use PubMed and other databases.

@hhhk20 that's interesting, this is the same exercise my physical therapist had me do after having my biceps muscle reattached. The PT's main concern was getting my brachial muscle to compensate for the bicep while it was healing.

When done correctly the cable will be somewhere around a 45° angle to the ground. Take a step or two away from the machine to achieve full range of motion.

I just learned about this in my kinesiology class. It is a really important muscle to focus on if you're trying to have nice biceps... As it starts to grow, it starts to push out your biceps and your triceps out more, give you that 3D look.
    So, work it out.

  • @TheBladeX10

Good advice 👍🏻. Indeed, the brachialis is quite hard to hit. I discovered one exercise which could directly engage it. Try next...
While holding the arms and dumbbells. The arms are at a 90° angle, close to the body like a biceps hold/plank for example. Now tilt the hands holding the weights outwards and squeeze the weights until your hands or fists go out of the shoulder line. Like the outward L movement with the arms. Second version to try is by holding the arms even more bent, close to the chin. Something like a guard up in a boxing. While having the arms bent and the weights in the hands, do the out movements, tilt & squeeze at the end of a movement.
You should be able to feel the brachi's. The only one exercise which makes them to move out the most, and i'm talking they are working and moving straight out on the sides, rather then just being "rotated" up and down with other exercises. Hope i managed to express and describe it.

Ryan, Good stand-by exercises for forearms: 1) wrist rolls with 10 lb weight and thicker piece of wood with sting and weight attached. Hold arms out straight and roll up one way then the other. 2)Create a hammer with long or regular dumbbell bar and 5 lb weight and do hammer motions like you suggest seated moving wrist. Also, using that same bar arm hanging seated moving bar back for reps then forward for reps. Then put on knee and turn wrist side to side for reps, adjusting resistance by where you grip bar. Also, using a sledge hammer that's not ridiculously heavy can mirror these exercises as well, the further down you grip handle the more resistance.

From an old poliquin book, reverse semi suppinated (curl bar) curls, stopping on the way up static hold of 3 seconds, I think 35 degrees, but you'll feel the right angle, then up down slow for 5 seconds

I've tried out the variation of the rope pull with both hands while turning the wrists outwards as much as possible at the top, and ohhh my lawd that was some new burning sensation I've never quite experienced before, did like 5 sets straight and that alone must've been an almost complete bicep workout in itself. Totally my new favourite bicep exercise!

  • @joemeschke

I love using the ez-curl barbell with a pronated grip, and only going from top to mid for the last half of my reps. E.g. in a set of 10 reps, you do full range of motion for the first 5, then top to mid for the last 5 (kind of like how you'd do 21's). Sets that brachialis on fire.
Those and rope pulls with both hands while supinating your hands toward the top. Awesome content man. Thanks and keep it up!
