Railfanning Dalton & its surrounding areas May 2023

In this video you will see CSX and NS action in and around Dalton GA from when I went up there on May 20th, 2023. Surprisingly, we would see more CSX trains than NS as the NS line is a lot busier. Dalton is a great Railfanning hotspot and is a place I recommend for other railfans out there.

Great video! I’m going to that area at the end of October for 4 days visiting my sister in laws family. I’ll be staying in Calhoon, Ga at her brothers house most likely so I’m interested in this spot as well as Chattanooga. I’m a BNSF and UP guy from the west coast so this will be new and exciting for me since I’ve never fanned the Eastern US.

Dalton is a great area, it is an amazing hotspot, 30+ trains a day. NS and CSX action. Dalton is about 20 mins north of Calhoun.
