      @@Ahmayahh I've seen studies and possibly even a mention of this in a video on this channel, but I believe there is a common (but not universal) phenomenon of muscular hypertrophy after limb lengthening as a result of the muscles being stretched and forced back into a state of flux and adaptation. Allegedly, if you take advantage of it via leg exercises like squats (carefully, obviously), you can noticeably beef up your legs - sometimes even more so than you normally would have without LL. The National Library of Medicine has an article on it, and there are others I believe, if you Google for them: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9167625/

    I would like to do my femurs first, but the issue I am most worried about is proportion & aesthetics, a femur that's longer than normal looks so out of place, but I feel like a tibia that's a bit longer than normal can still look aesthetically pleasing from the outside than a longer femur, what do you think?

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  Місяць тому +2

      Yeah if proportions are your biggest concern you should think about that before proceeding. I think femurs usually look fine though especially with clothes

      @@Cyborg4Life I read that you should not go over a ratio of 0.8 for tibia/femur (measured via x rays) as a larger ratio is associated with patellar pain and hip arthritis. Can you do a video on that and give us more info? thank you

    Hello Victor, I have a question. If I do not want to have the second surgery to block the nail with the screws, how many months do I have to wait to remove the fixator if I want to lengthen 4cm?

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  Місяць тому

      Hmmm the surgeon would need to check your bone for healing so it would depend on you but usually 7-8 months for femurs and sometimes 11 for tibias

    I am somewhere between 5'8" & 5'9", I would like to add anywhere between 3 - 3.5inches, do you think that's feasible?
    and if it is how long do you think it would take me to do the surgery and recover if I first do 1.5 inches on the tibia and later do 2.0 inches on the femur

    • @KNWBDY.important
      @KNWBDY.important Місяць тому +6

      Bro, 3 inches is HALF of the usual length most people achieve. Very realistic and you will be back to full mobility almost twice as fast as most leg lengthening patients.

    • @VisionQuest057
      @VisionQuest057 Місяць тому +3

      3 to 3.5 inches is such a small amount to use quadrilateral lengthening for (many people achieve this on femurs alone) that you could easily do simultaneous quad lengthening without even straining yourself and be done lengthening in like 2 months (very short time for LL). Although some might argue quad is overkill for this, I would argue two major virtues: One, both the lengthening and healing times will be _very_ fast as far as most LL surgeries are concerned. Two, you'll retain excellent proportions. So if money is no issue, I think this is a great idea (I would go for ~3.5 inches, as that would put you right at a nice solid 6ft!).

    • @VisionQuest057
      @VisionQuest057 Місяць тому +2

      Yes, but not by a lot, and generally only the upper arms because like the tibia/fibula, the forearm is a combination of two bones that work delicately in tandem for rotating your wrists/hands and lengthening them screws everything all up (plus they tend to be smaller and thinner than upper arm bones IIRC, making them more difficult to lengthen).

      I guess it depends on your current proportions. My tibia are quite long compared to my femur (ratio of 0.91) so getting deep is super easy for me. Lengthening my femurs to get to a ratio of the average of 0.8 would make it harder to go as deep but I don't think going below parallel would be a major issue. At any rate, your body can adapt eventually, it's not certain it'll be a big deal

    I've watched a lot of your leg lengthening videos and something isnt adding up. If this surgery does work out most of the time if you have a good surgeon and if you focus on good recovery like you've stated many times, then why are there absolutely ZERO celebrities doing this? Especially shorter actors who definitely have the money for it and who can pick the top surgeons. Why aren't rich short celebrities JUMPING at this opportunity to get taller? NO FAMOUS PEOPLE are doing this except for like one or two who aren't very known. I feel like they know something we don't, like it doesn't work well for long term or something. What do you think Cyborg? Why do famous people avoid this surgery?

      Celebrities? Yeah because of the stigma most likely. We have clinics that are making a mockery of this surgery and butchering patients. A lot of them probably have thought it's interesting but their PR and brand are their livelihoods so until it's made more mainstream they won't tell you if they did do it. That's my take anyways

    • @VisionQuest057

      You think celebs are some kind of geniuses who "know things we don't?" The same vapid celebs who pump their faces full of filler like Tom Cruise, Zac Efron, and numerous women? And all the celebs abusing Ozempic despite its obvious and well-known dangers and risks? No. It's just that if a celeb is short, then that shortness is a part of their brand and their image, and they have to maintain that or face a lot of criticism and likely damage their brand. There's just too much negative messaging and stereotyping about LL right now. Plus, there actually _is_ one male celeb who did do LL recently - just Google for "Rich Rotella limb lengthening." Eventually I suspect it will gain popularity, but for now, we're just early to the party is all.
