It was the KMT China (now living in the Country of Taiwan) that has a good experience when it comes to war. They fought the Japanese in WW 2 while PLA cowering in mountain caves waiting for an opportunistic strike on a weaken KMT due to war. PLA has no real experience when it comes to war.
China currently doesn't have sealift capabilities to transport hundreds thousands of troop needed to invade & occupy Taiwan (Yes they have more destroyer & aircraft carrier than their neighboring countries, but lack ship for transporting troops) China have to match up sealift capabilities of US Navy during WW2 for Operation Overlord. At that time Germans basically gave almost no resistance during landing beach, imagine doing that in this era with much better communication and deadlier weapon. @@youwho6692 It won't be as easy to supply Taiwan, but it can be done on the east side. The US is king of logistics and the pacific ocean is the US backyard. As for China's fighter jets, they aren't even battle tested. F-16 have more than 10,000 battle tested sorties, J-20 has zero. China will struggle to achieve air dominance on the island as there will be home made air defense systems and Patriot air defense systems. Taiwan's F-16 will reload and refuel faster as they are flying above their own country while China has to fly back to mainland to reload and re-fuel. China has literally zero chance of a successful invasion.
