Note: I thought there was a clock spring too .. there is, but the Horn does not seem to connect via the clock spring: Instead there are 2 sets of contacts with steering wheel at 11:00 and 2:00 . When you push the horn down, you compress 1 of the 2 springs, which in turn connects the horn relay to ground. There is a wire (Green I think) that passes thru a connector inside the wheel Which facillitates the connection.. not the clock spring. When I removed the wheel at a salvage yard I discovered this. Here's a useful "tid bit" the little hole-head spline screws to the left and right of the steering column are directly connected to the horn relay exit wire. You can touch a grounded wire there and the horn should honk. ( reach them by popping off the plastic plug on the side of the steering wheel).
I'm having trouble with mine, please help. I checked the 3 points for power and the horn beeps when I connect cable wires to it but when I replaced the relay with a new one it didn't work. I tried 2 new relays from autozone thinking the first was defective but neither worked. What else could be wrong? Btw I have a 2013 nissan altima.
thank you for the vid- i've check both fuses and bought new relay, still no horn, although i know it works as the employees at autozone, when trying to take relay off, said the horn sounded when they squeezed the relay- could the connection in steering wheel be off and so, how do i check for that?
What do u do if you've changed the clockspring, checked all fuses, and relay. They all work however their is no power coming from the steering when it is touched with wires or otherwise.. the horn won't sound .
@@mtsanchez27 I don't see why not.. you can always call the dealership, ask for the parts dept and provide then with the Vin number to see how much the original part costs.
