By far the best, most detailed video on this subject. I just changed mine today on my 2011 Nissan Pathfinder and I played this video as I replaced it. Perfect!
Dealer wanted $850 to replace my clock spring. Found Clockspring Experts online and they had the part needed for $180. Took me about 45 mins to do while watching this video while I replaced it. Thx!
ok first of all thanks for the video. J Carapiet says below that where he lives in the Gulf Pathfinders don't have the angle sensor system, so, for us that do you'll need to transfer a piece from the back of the clock spring you're replacing to the back of the new clock spring you're putting in. 12:32 of the video shows the gray and yellow connections but next to those is where the other plug for the angle sensor goes. The plug that's sticking straight up. Remove 3 tiny Phillips head screws and transfer the white plastic connector piece for the angle sensor plug. Repair fixed my flashing air bag light, and my horn is working again
Wish I Would Have Read This i Installed As It Was Installed InThis Video But Now The Vdc Ligth Wont Go Off,,,,,Now I Know Why I Will Remove And Reinstall
I liked this video, then unliked it so I could like it again. This video is awesome man. Thank you for your expertise and making it simple and straightforward. In my opinion the most crucial part is getting that spring centered! AWESOME VID, GOD BLESS YOU 🙌
Excellent video. I changed mine today. Without seeing this video I wouldn't have the confidence to do it myself. It all worked out perfectly. Thank you!!!
Fantastic video! I had my seat belt light start flashing and code P1564. Was told it's the clock spring. Just ordered it from eBay for $30.60. Hopefully, it works when I replace it.
I finally changed the clock spring. The cruise control started working again but after doing the airbag reset, the light was still flashing. I took apart both front and side sensors and cleaned with electric cleaner. Still nothing. I gave up. I came out 39 minutes later, and it wasn't flashing anymore. Go figure that out because I can't.
When you come to Romania, the first 10 beers are on me. You saved me a TON of money. My 07 pathfinder had an error with the right side curtain airbag module and no electrician solved the issue, and they checked every bit of wire. I made the last bit you had in the video, the 5x ignition diag mode and the error is gone! thank you a lot!!
Very good video, I had to install the steering wheel sensor, I found that out as this video omitted that step, just 3 screws and all is well, thanks again.
Great video. Should be able to give more than one thumbs up. I managed to finally identify the right part and to look it up online. It's crazy how difficult it is. I guess that's how big automotive companies like it to be t overcharge for parts.

Great video but please note folks this clock spring video is for Pathfinders that dont have VDC which utilizes a steering wheel angle sensor. You will need a different clock spring with a narrower 1.5" diameter center hole so you can swap out the steering angle sensor for the VDC.

The video provides the repair is easy to follow instructions, but I do not recommend buying the part off of Ebay or Ali Baba. Since you are doing the repair yourself and the clock spring might have the ABS system tied in (his does not look like it has the angle sensor attached like mine did), buy an OEM part.
What is the purpose of the steering wheel angle sensor? I see that it was left unplugged, by what I'd assume is someone who did the work previously. You can clearly see it was never "unplugged" in this video, and it's seen at 10:04; the other smaller white plug to the left of the plug that was just removed. And then at 12:54, you see it was tucked away when the assembly was being re-installed.
@@dyip32 It's an annular piece that has the wiring that connects to all the commands on the steering wheel. Therefore, per se, it's not that important. My Pathfinder is a Middle Eastern SE model and didn’t come with the feature “steering angle sensor” in 2008! But it does have the wiring if I wanted to add on that as a after market feature.
Very nice explainable video, but you didn't install the "steering wheel angle sensor" nor did you put the "white" wiring hornist at the left top into the steering wheel angle sensor, on the clock spring and without doing this, there will be a light on the dash board that will not go off !!
Hello Mr. Carapiet this is a great video. I have a question. Can you get a different yr for the clock spring or does it have to be the yr the vehicle is. I have a 2007 and could only find a 2006 but when I tried it it didn’t work.

It may just be an issue with the sensor. It may not be necessary that you change the airbag. In both my cars, the dashboard shows an issue with the airbag. But that's a sensor fault, and the airbags are fine and would deploy as needed in case of accident. I recommend you check with your mechanic first, as long as it's a good one that you can trust.
