Thanks Dave! We got lucky with the weather which allowed us to travel from spot to spot! Wish I was back on the reef already haha especially on this wet weekend!! 😃
Hey Johnny. That’s a special day on the reef mate. Amazing place with great company and awesome fishing. Loving the drone footage and the tips on gear and techniques too. Respect lives on!
Thanks Brad! Appreciate your continued support mate! It was indeed a special trip. I can’t get enough of the ocean! It’s definitely my happy place. I’m slowly getting my more confident with my drone. Flying it further & higher haha. Hope you & the family are well. Tight lines 😀
Another cracking vid champion, you are a master of the reef. Love seeing those quality fish coming over the side of that boat. Amazing condition s out there this time. Your a bloody legend!!!
Thanks Michael! I’m no master matey. Always learning something new every trip. Hopefully a few tips to help everyone catch a few more on their next trip 😊
Bloody nice fish you caught in this episode and it looked like a great day to be put on the water. Enjoy the filets boys sure you won’t be hungry any time soon
Thanks for supporting the channel mate & glad you enjoyed some of the content! The 3 fish at the one time was pretty crazy haha. The fish were hungry 🤤
Cheers Mr Warlow!! Appreciate your confidence but I think it’s along journey for me my friend. Regardless I enjoy capturing the special moments and sharing it with the world 😀
Awesome day again mate. You seem to be able to pick the conditions well. Also noticed your getting famous with a mention on OBM. Love your channel mate. Cheers
I watch the weather like an eagle 🦅 haha. We don’t always get it right but it’s nice when it all comes together. Yes, OBM were very nice to give us a shout out! Certainly not famous & the main reason I film is to capture the cool moments on the water. 😀 thanks for your continued support mate
Cheers Neil. Yeah mate, small weather windows for us on the east coast at the moment! Another La Niña this season so could be a wet one with big swell! Fingers crossed 🤞 Mother Nature is kind to us this summer.
Hey Jonny awesome session right there good footage mate Just a question do you drift fish over your spots or drop anchor I live in Townsville and do a lot of reef fishing just wondering Cheers Dave
Hey Dave, I drift and keep my engine on to reverse into the lost dominant force I.e the wind or swell/current. This allows me to vertically fish straight up & down. 👌
Nice vid mate!! I’m thinking of heading to 1770 myself for an overnighter from Brisbane any tips weather wise would 8 knots/0.8m swells be abit much for a 5.2m boat?
Hey Jeremy, thanks for supporting the channel. Yes, anything sub 10 knots should be fine. But always check the wind and swell report prior to departure, as Mother Nature can change any time. Personally, I like to only head put to the reef when it’s sub 5 knots, so if they get the weather wrong the conditions are still fair. 15 knots off 1770 with strong wind against tide isn’t fun. Stay safe and tight lines mate.
Hey Chris, sorry I don’t charter, just fish with my mates. I can recommend Cam (1770 on your boat) runs charters or you could search a few of the local operators on google. 👌
@@johnnychowjc I've only got a 4.3mtr tinny with a 40merc tiller steer, only go 7mile off bundy, got a 30kg bluefin tuna few weeks back, floating pilly out the back for a mackerel, took not even 2min to get in the boat
surely you didn't just drop that beserker jig with a flesh bait on it and then sell it off that you jigged that trout up on it lololol nice haul of fish this trip
Hey mate if you watched some my other videos and you jump on their website, the berserker meat heads are specifically designed for holding bait. They aren’t a traditional micro/butterfly jig. I don’t hide that I use bait on them. When they get baited by peckers, I do jig them with and without bait. 👌
Grip and rip fishing, who cares on what method you catch em, as long as you do, and have great day out! I’m sure Johnny and his family enjoyed their expensive day out, fuel , tackle etc, and took home a lovely feed of fish, if you don’t like his method, piss off😡
Thanks for the support mate I do appreciate it. We clocked some km’s and spent some $$ but was a fun adventure. I don’t claim to be the best or know everything just trying to share my experiences and a little of the knowledge I know. I’m trying to keep the channel a positive place / community. I can’t please everyone but I am trying to be respectful to all. 😊
Amazing day out on the reef. Unbelievable conditions, catching some quality fish. The memories will live on ❤
Fun times my friend! Thanks for the good company. 😊 til the next adventure
Trout wraps! Maori Rock Cod Wraps! And no footage of the tucker! 😃 Incredible weather and some more incredible footage! Awesome stuff!
Haha didn’t have time to do a catch & cook video after a big 36 hours of driving the car/ boat & fishing! With minimal sleep 😜
Bloody amazing. What a day.
Thanks for all the support and comments Lindsay 🙏
Just watched this one J.C what a day mate. Good drone work too.👌👌

@@johnnychowjcHi mate
Is 1770 located in great barrier ????
❤❤❤
Some awesome fish mate, thanks for the upload. What’s the fish you use for bait?
Hey Matt, we use hussar as bait & combine with mullet fillet. They are very common species on the reef. 👌

Nice vid, what rod do you use ?
Thanks Aaron. I’m using the Shimano Anthem 6”9 and 30-50lb. It’s a two piece rod. 😀
