Tom Morello is an interesting character, I love his playing, one of the most original guitar players, now the subject of his music is up to debate, his Rage songs obviously bring controversy, but like the Bible there not meant to be read in full and considered as one piece, but rather a book full of multiple parts that are meant to be separate, even one phrase being true is important, that’s art, simple.
....so anti-capitalist he sells out and makes a guitar for 1,300

He said they're giving away hundreds of guitars (including his signature guitar) for free to inmates and disadvantaged youth. Can't think of many other signature releases that did the same. You can't give them all away for free. And 1.3k isn't bad considering all the upgrades, like binding, locking tuners and nut, Floyd Rose, upgraded pups, compound radius neck, kill switch. Try doing all those upgrades to your standard MIM strat, it probably wont be much cheaper, if not more expensive. It's not like they grabbed a stock strat and slapped his name on it and charged a premium like other sigs.
@@emusounds exactly, many examples of that are around, just look at the Dee Dee Ramone sig bass, what a fucking joke, released after the guys been dead for 15 years. A regular white (mexican) P-bass with a ''special'' neckplate & a signature. Used to sell for around $1300

So why waste time hating on something not even mentioned in this video... unless you think giving guitars to kids who cant afford them is a political stance? Its a great idea, I was lucky to goto a highschool with a couple dozen classical guitars and a guitar class. I was already playing on my own and a self motivated but I realize now without that class i would have never learned all the penatonics shapes, Our teacher even taught us ear training on intervals. Imaginging the same class but with a bunch of soul power guitars would have been hilarious, and way too loud. Maybe they should stick to classical. Good on him for making that possible for more kids, instead of using an obscenely expensive signature guitar to make him and fender more rich, have that money do something better.
