I noticed this a while ago and I wonder if anybody else has as well, but Dagan wears the guitar strap at the height of the artist he’s talking about in these videos. For example, in the Slash gear guide he wore the strap pretty low like Slash does and in this video, he wears the guitar high just like Tom Morello does.
Haha good spot! He usually has it pretty low anyways. But it was hard to do all the kill switch stuff with it down there, so it he had to raise it up for his video!
@@PMTVUK Haha yea Tom’s stuff is pretty difficult to play down low. But I didn’t know if that was a coincidence or something you guys just threw in there for fun. You guys are awesome! If I ever go to Europe, I’m for sure stopping by one of your stores!
Tiny fact to add, the original whammy pedals are monophonic in their pitch tracking and will produce "garbling" artifacts if more than one note is played. The EHX pitch fork is a polyphonic tracker. The Whammy 5 has a "classic/chords" setting to switch between mono/poly modes. I have an old 90's mono whammy and it's still the fastest response and most fun to play but the whammy 5's poly tracking is more useful overall. The EHXs add a tiny bit of latency to the effected signal too.
Is that guitar not carved like a regular Strat? It looks like it has hard edges like a Tele. I really like it, the coolest Strat Fender has made recently
Glad it's not just me who struggles with the "Know Your Enemy" riff. I can kind of pick it, but I can't get the rhythm down well enough to play it with my toggle switch
I really like and appreciate your 'Gear Guide' videos. They are really entertaining. If you're looking for a suggestion for the next 'Gear Guide', maybe you can do 'Foo Fighters'. One of my favourite bands. You're doing a great job. Keep on rockig. Greetings from Germany.
What...? On which part? Intro riff is whammy set to octave down, main riff is wah, verse riff is also wah (in cocked position), the chorus is whammy set to octave down, transposed main riff is wah, solo is wah (in toe position) and killswitch. I can't hear any tremolo on any of those parts?
@@stefanodallolmo7335 Yes, there is. There are two guitar tracks for the opening/ending riff, one of which uses the octave down setting on the whammy. It's easily confused with being the bass since they're effectively in the same octave, so I won't fault you for not knowing that.
he did have a signature set of Gibsons and Epiphones as well as his own pairing with Schecter in the form of Wylde Audio all with EMG 81 in the bridge and an 85 in the neck setup so i'd say go for the ESP E-II Arrow NT because it has the right pickups for amps he mainly used Marshall before Schecter also helped make his Wylde Audio amps, so definitley get a Marshall amp (combo or head/cab) it's entirely up to you and for pedals he used to use Boss pedals and then MXR, so i'd say the best bet is a Boss SD-1W, Boss NS-2, MXR Phase 90 (for Crazy Horse), Boss CE-2W, and a Dunlop 535Q Multi Wah because his signature wah is discontinued
I'm not familiar with anything known as "dB 3" (except for decibel levels) so unfortunately I can't help you with the appropriate settings for that particular pedal, but the settings on Morello's two Boss DD-3 pedals are as follows: Long delay: everything at 12 o'clock (straight up) Short delay: Level at maximum, Feedback at zero, Delay Time at about 10 or 11 o'clock, Mode set to 200 ms.
@@cenaboyle The DD-3 settings should be very close to the settings on your DD-8, but I'd suggest trying either the "Standard" or "Analog" Mode setting for the long delay, and for the short delay I'd suggest experimenting with the Time knob to find the best position.
1:00 I came for the tone, but I stayed for the boots. Imagine how spankin good it'd feel walkin' round in those babies!! You could never be too big for them boots. Dayum. They'd probly come back for more just to feel that swanky leather up the backroad one more time.
Dude, I have to play 'seriously' (which doesn't mean it's not fun) a few hours a week just to stay half-ass and be ready to jam. You just showed me some deep Morello stuff that makes me wonder, WHEN do you find time to work, sleep, or pay attention to your ladyfriend? Ahh, to be young again...
A little correction here. Sendero Luminoso is not the communist party in Peru. It was a terrorist communist movement in Peru that killed millions of innocent people. Entire families, children and adults. Daily blackouts because of some power plant had been bombed was all I saw while growing up there. Fighting a capitalist society by killing the same people they claim they are trying help. But I'm sure it makes Tom Morello feel cool. Tom morello puts his wah in the fx loop of his jcm 800 so the wah sound is more pronounced
Tom Morello appears in Guitar Hero 3 along with his Arm The Homeless guitar. He recorded a Guitar Battle song for the game.
