Inflation means that prices rise faster. When inflation comes down, the prices go up slower. Prices never come down. Don’t expect 2 dollar gas prices or food prices to come down. It doesn’t work that way.

Yet, gas prices always go down right before an election except when Trump was in office. 2016 and now again, 2024. Where I live, we dropped to 2.67. If it were "economics," we would have no random large drop in gas prices right before elections.

The numbers have been great and only improving since the summer of 2022
45 hand picked Jerome and it was the big f that raised rates to OVER 5%.
While under 45 in 2019 the big f lowered rates to basically 0% and kept them at basically 0%.

Inflation is measured based on year-over-year data. The number is misleading. Your property tax/insurance cost (big component in the index) has already risen 30% in the last 2 years. Let's just say they're staying flat next near, it means inflation is 0. That's how they cook the number.

There's no reason to have the Fed funds rate ~2.5% above inflation when the economy isn't overheated.
Inflation won't reaccelerate (at least because of the Fed) unless they cut rates below the neutral rate, which is probably mid 3%

This seems like the worst period. Even the market are now very unpredictable. Started investing recently when the market prices were a bit high, today I am more than 60% down!
People here complaining about having no money but everyday I see more and more people going out to eat, airports are still packed and tourist are at pre-pandemic highs. Most posts here lean right, maybe you are the problem.
Those are the people who will truly be in trouble when it strikes. Or they have been heavy in stocks, which we have been taught and has always worked
