Had the same thing happen about 3 weeks ago on Lake D'arbonne. I found very large schools of smaller Crappie on the pilings of the Hwy 2 bridge. Only managed to get 5 off of those. Went further North up the Lake and found a brush pile that had some good marks on it and proceeded to catch 5 more that were nice sized. 3 over 12 inches. But I had to change baits a lot. They tended to like my 1/32oz. small hair jigs that I tied over the Bobby Garland baits. Still learning a lot about Crappie fishing but definitely enjoying myself. Thanks for the great videos. Cool to see some stuff from someone near where I am!

Well played on the 1/64 jig head, never tried that weight. Good tip! Great Livescope footage

Thank you! That 1/64th is a great weight for when they're picky like this or in the spring when they're shallow and you don't want the lure to sink past the strike zone too quickly.

We had the same issues the other day, ton of them would look at it and swim with it for a little bit, then go back down. We only caught 6 that day. I changed so many lures, and we even had live minnows

Diamond that's pretty good! To be honest, 6 fish is about what I've been managing to catch the few mornings I've been out this summer. This was my first trip out bringing home more than 10 crappie since June. Summer day-time fishing is tough!
If I wasn't so stubborn I'd switch over to bluegill in the summer to keep the action going but it's just so hard to see all those crappie and give up on them!

Changing lures…. I’ve seen days where it has to be blue and white. No silver, no chartreuse. 1/32 with a gold hook - remember- no silver. And it can change completely tomorrow. Half the fun with the livescope is figuring them out. I use the little quick clips so I can change up, I throw mostly hand tied stuff I make. Plastic free in ‘23! Also I like the powerbait wax worms for scent- they stay on the hook for multiple fish. Certainly not telling you how to fish- you seem to have that figured out!

I believe it! And definitely agree about Livescope making it so much fun to try to get the fish figured out. I never would have guessed that you could have 20 fish looking at your jig and not biting it before these electronics came along! Those little hand-ties are in my tackle box also and I've had several days on Darbonne where those were the ticket and plastics weren't getting bit at all.

Are you using a GPSMAP 1022 or a 1222 for LIVESCOPE LVS34? Thanks

YardDog! Hey man, yeah long time no talk!
I had to get my new boat in for some warranty service (power bimini stopped working) and I've got pieces of my old boat's motor on my shop table trying to figure out why the reverse gear isn't working. Had me out of commission for a bit. But back now!

@HighQualityFishingVideos good to have you back. I haven't done much fishing for awhile either. Just too damn hot. We still need to get together and do some fishing.

What pontoon did you end up getting? And do you pull that with your Tacoma? I remember seeing that’s what you had in a older video

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos
      @HighQualityFishingVideos  Рік тому +1

Hey, I got the Ranger 200F fishing pontoon boat. I sure do pull it with the Tacoma. The truck has the towing package and is rated up to 6800lbs. The boat+trailer is about half that and the truck pulls it great even up all the hills on the way to Caney Lake. Only get 10-11mpg while towing it though!
I was worried about the larger boat until I realized that my friend's bass boat actually weighs more than my pontoon and he's got a tacoma also.
*The boat is amazing. Only issues I've had so far are minor and I'll be doing a review video soon. Would have done one sooner but wanted to wait until I had plenty of trips with it before I put anything out.

The two companies I've bought them from are Mr Twister and Big Bite Baits. They both sell some very small plastics that are great for summer fishing when they get picky. Good luck out there!

Hey thanks for watching! I am using the Summit pole which I could not be happier with.
      Great company too!
When I ordered the pole last year I accidentally selected the activetarget model so I had the wrong bottom piece. Contacted Summit and they sent me a replacement piece with no charge.

    • @HighQualityFishingVideos

This is out by the dam on Caney. The whole area by that rip rap usually has brush on it where it drops from 5-to-20 feet. It's rarely in the same spot twice, but brush accumulates over there after storms I'm guessing. If you cruise parallel to the bank you'll see it pop up on sonar.
I might haul a bunch of christmas trees with cinder blocks on them out there this year and make us a whole lot of structure for everybody to fish. If I do, I'll post a link for all the channel subscribers to give yall the coordinates for them.
