As much as i'm hoping that Discord appears in G5, without Fluttershy around i have no doubt that Discord would probably be so stricken with grief that he would no longer be in Equestria anymore, or maybe he'd stay at Fluttershy's old cottage because it's pretty much all he would have left of her.
I imagine him going and staying there, letting the forest nearby over take the cottage but kinda in a mix of harmony and chaos, like it will look chaotic but everything still works, the windows, the door, everything, it's just kinda overgrown, and the ponies that do meet him, he repeats the kind teachings of twilight or, more likely, fluttershy's kind words, teaching people that, it is okay, that only kindness rules in his part of the woods
Yes. I agree , if discord is around in G5 he will most probably stay in fluttershys old cottage to remember her , I want to see what ponuville looks like in G5 or does it even exist
In the MLP comics Discord has a literal time machine that he uses with Fluttershy and the CMC to go both in the past and the future, so once Fluttershy passes away, Discord can easily go back to when she was still alive and spend time with her, so her death wouldn't really be a problem for him. Also, in the show he can travel through dimensions so logically he could just travel to a dimension where Fluttershy is an Alicorn or something and has a longer life span.
despite his immaturity, and knowing that losing Fluttershy would hit him hard, he does honestly see Twilight as a friend. So Twilight could act as a point of stability for him and vice versa.
Yeah discord likes to troll her but Twilight is definitely his second favorite pony i don't see him turning her to stone, and she values him as a friend too despite being annoyed by his antics as she has a picture of him on her mirror surrounded by all her friends.
What if after Fluttershy died, he wa manipulated by a villain like he was by Tirek in S4? He could easily return to his evil side if he was struck with grief. Especially if Fluttershy died from non-natural causes, like if a pony killed her and Discord then started to hate Equestria.
And if he was still alive fluttershy death would've hit him hard like you said and fluttershy was his first ever friend so it would've taken longer for him to mourn her death so that probably why he didn't save the friendship or he tried and when he failed all he could think was letting his friends down and he felt really bad
Weirdly, if they do bring Discord back, I kind of want to see him as a mentor figure to the new cast. I'd be interesting to see a Discord who, after spending an entire lifetime with the mane six, plus however long the time skip is, has finally matured to the point where he can pass on their lessons in his own chaotic way.
Yeah he has tried to take on a mentor role before and while he is trying to help its been mixed results to probably say the least. Discord finally after years of experience and growing as a being, becoming a great teacher would be an amazing progression.
@@damongomez8220 They get banished when the ponies unite. Clover destroyed them in her flashback and they returned at the end of season 9. And in season 9 they just vanished into light because of the rainbow plot-armor. So im guessing they can still return.
There is also the Remebrance where not only is Twilight feeling alone, but also Discord, Cadence, and even Flurry Heart. It's a good story, and amazingly sad.
Just imagine if every pony in g5 thinks she’s crazy for believing in those old books if it’s been so long since g4, like they don’t even think it really happened or just a old story that is probably fake
I think the idea of discord sealing himself off from equestria after fluttershy dies, and his grief causes his powers to overflow, causing equestria's ponies and other species to go into a more chaotic period. And, even after discord gets these feelings under control, the damage was already done. Ponies, without knowing it was discord that caused their chaotic action before, would assume the peace between them was no longer there. And Twilight is considered to have abandoned them, so they go into the state of mind we see in g5 after however long it's been since discord got his grief and feelings of loss under control. Discord also knows he can't make things right, not only because the damage was already done, but also he might think without the mane 6 and spike around to support the fact he was a good guy now, they might seal him in tartarus. Or, perhaps worse for discord, the royal family of the time would banish him from equestria for all eternity, meaning he could never visit the grave of his beloved fluttershy. But, in honor of her memory, he controls his anger, and leaves, never to return. That is until Sunny reunites the pony races, and maybe all the other races too. With them reunited, sunny and her friends are viewed as heroes. Sunny then reveals to everyone through her copy of the friendship journal, and other relics from the mane 6, that discord really had changed for the better and what he had said centuries earlier was probably true. His powers creating these issues in the first place probably was indeed from grief and was not intentional. Thus, he appears at the end of the movie or in an after credits scene as just a quick appearance. I kniw it's all so fanfic like, but i really want this little tidbit to occur. Obviously not in the main plot, but maybe the discord scene is the first hint we have that he might return throughput g5, and then whatever happens in the rest of g5 explains the story of what happened to discord and why he's allowed bavk into equestria. But, that's probably just a lot of wishful and hopeful thinking.
That's not what i'm trying to say. I'm not talking about ponies disrespecting discord's memory. I'm talking about discord keeping his emotions under control in honor of fluttershy after he realized what his inability to control them had caused to happen. I said nothing about him going crazy and unleashing his full power. I’d imagine him going on a depression-induced spiritual journey wondering what he’s supposed to do now without Fluttershy and hoping around timelines and other dimensions on a journey without a destination. Maybe even looking for a timeline where she is still alive? Then every once in a while he would pester Twilight in hiding because she’s the only friend that he has that’s still alive but Twilight is afraid that he would expose her when ponies aren’t ready to see her and Magic again. So she Isolates him further for the safety of Equestria.
Oh yeah you're right! I really hope Discord doesn't become a villain again because of all his friends dying. Although if Discord was in the new movie then probably he would be the main villain.
If MLP G5 is so far in to the future and including Discord and Twilight had passed away. I hope that we can at least see them in flashbacks, pictures etc. But I would love to for Discord and Twilight to be alive. But if they are making it sad I don’t think that it would be for the main 6 except Twilight passing away more like Discord possibly accidentally turning them into stone or Chrysalis wrapping them up like she did in The Season 6 Finale

I reading a fic where Discord didn't want Fluttershy to leave him, so he made her eternaly young and truely Immortal. When nations developed weapons of mass destruction killed every creature on equs including Twilight, leaving only Fluttershy and Discord. Eventuraly Fluttershy convinced Discord to let her die. Following Fluttershy falling into eternal sleep, he build her a perfectly ordered tomb, perfectly symetrical with no twists or randomness. It was so orderly that with its construction, Discord destroyed himself like what almost happened in Discordant Harmony. I can't help but think discord just got to bored and went to sleep with the passing of G4, if he has no friends, Chaos wouldn't be as fun anymore.
I could see him going back to being somewhat of a villain. Maybe not as bad as he was before his reformation, but a darker version of the reformed Discord. Without Fluttershy and the Mane 6, he's lost his "moral compass" to some extent.

I'm not sure he would do it, especially since Finale shown Fluttershy already getting old. But i could see the 6th member of the new main cast be his and Fluttershy's kid or ancestor or something. And then he would appear from time to time to visit them.
We really saw that Discord learnt the importance of friendship, even if he's quite immature, but seeing that friends aren't immortal could make him depressed and he could isolate and stay in his own dimension for ever, or he could turn mad and free Tirek, Chrysalys and Cosy Glow just to see some chaos But if all the magic really disappeared from Equestria, Discord is also concerned, and has no longer the magic of Chaos Also, something that had no connection : I just had a thought how can the 2021 movie can be : Like the final episode of G4, it could use many flashbacks to explain what happened to Equestria, and I think it's the only way we can see G4 characters in the movie It reminds me the leaked animation where we see an old pony telling the story of Twilight and her friends to a younger pony, so it reaaly could fit

We don't know if he can travel through time, comics aren't really canon. However he HAS ability to travel through other dimensions as shown in Smooze episode so he could appear in G5 anyway even if it's in another uninverse
@@MrConredsX Actually Hasbro & even some of the comic staff have stated "The comics are canon unless they majorly contradict the show" but this rule was only in effect while the show was running. Now that the show is over everything onwards in the MLP comics & Manga are canon because they all fall under season 10. Except for the Transformers crossover of course. That is confirmed to be non-canon and only for fun by the comic staff). A good example of this is the original "Starswirl vs Dazzlings" comic becoming non-canon thanks to season 7.

While I believe Discord would be saddened that his best friend Fluttershy passed, I believe he would understand how Twilight Sparkle feels making them even closer then they already were and being some of the few that remember the good old days, I believe the other Alicorns and Dragons would possibly still be around, however again without magic it might affect the lifespan of all these magical creatures. Still looking forward to what G5 has to offer.

Assuming what most people think about Dragons living extremely long lifespans (and in some cases immortal), Spike, Ember, and Smolder may all be around too. Assuming dragons of MLP carry that same lore. Judging by how deep the show delves into D&D as ancient myth, I'd assume so. We may find Spike being a large ancient dragon hiding from the world, similar to how he was in Fallout Equestria.
If I’m being honest I could see Discord consumed by grief but not doing anything harmful. He could just be sitting on the remains of Fluttershy’s cottage, not moving, maybe even rather than turning twilight to stone, he does it to himself, it could be that the pain of a world without Fluttershy is too much for him and he focuses his magic on himself and turns back to stone, this time there’s no undoing it; he’s stone forever, there’s no bringing him back he’s encased himself and his mind goes to eternal sleep(it’s not death but it’s as good as)
I'm just imagining the g5 cast going on an epic adventure, and at the end of their journey, they come to a door, which they open up to reveal Discord, Spike, and Twilight all sitting around the O & O table and offering them a spot.
After season 4 of generation 4, the show started throwing in darker, and darker elements. Granted, this is still a family show, so they would never go too dark. However, given the recent change in pace with how kids learn, it wouldn't surprise me if they explored the subject of grief or the consequences of being ageless. And there are plenty of family shows that have taken on issues like these. Given that it's a show about colorful horses, they possibly never will take this on.
If you think about it, There can be a way that Discord returns for an episode about fixing your mistakes and he could be the one who reforms Tirek, Chrysalis and Cozy Glow this time, with the help of the new characters of MLP G5

That would be good! But what if he his feelings DO cause mistrust and hem AND Twilight try to fix it! There would be some awsome bonding moments if we got this! And In my headcannon, Discord has matured since the 3 being in stone. But what if he helps Twilight fight her struggles and pushes out his own! That could make the problem in equestria worse as in the more Discord ignores his own struggles, the worse the devition gets! And eventually Twilight could notice that him pushing his own feelings back changes Discord and pushes him back into his childish manner. And then this could tell Twilight that mabye Discords un attended to feelings causes tge split and Twilight tries to reach out along with the mane 5. Ir Sunny could notice this and try convincing the ithers that Discords feelings are being ignored! That would be a great story! (Im sorry this is too long 😅)
If Discord at least even just a glance or In the background just waking or do whatever, I'll be happy to see him return. Cuz I love his character, his personality, everything about Discord.
I havent read all of the comics but I recall that Discord has had companions like Fluttershy before, they went "back in time" in one comic as he tried to show the cutie mark crusaders some fun while agreeing to babysit them (and messing up accidently) and they run into some old companions he's had, who also comment on Fluttershy with him now... So that says a lot, maybe it implies he would be able to move on (though I agree fluttery is the most impactful person he's ever had in his life) and he was still "evil" when he paled around with the other companions in the past given being friendly and good was NEW to him in FIM... Or maybe he would use his time travel powers to remain in the past mostly and hang out with his friends again, forever? Who knows.
Being that Discord has at least the appearance of being immortal, I think that Discord wouldn't really have a reason for hanging around Equestria if Fluttershy is gone. It seems the only reason he does anything helpful with his chaos is when Fluttershy is in danger. He obviously cares for her a great deal (if it hasn't evolved into full on love at this point), being his first friend and all. Even though he may have a "professional" friendliness towards the rest of them, I think Fluttershy is his reason, at minimum, to even hang around. Without her, he has no other reason, and short of going full on dark with Discord giving up his immortality (which I highly doubt the writers would do), I don't think he'd stay. Out of kindness/love/honoring Flutters memory, he may return to his old ways, but leave the world of Equestria alone. -T.K.
I love the idea that Twilight and Discord stay friends and after losing the open he loved most at the soonest sign of his last living friend possibly dying he turned her to stone to keep her alive
I love the concept of an all-powerful character struggling with his emotions rather than any physical challenge and discord is the sole reason I fell in love with this show in the first place
Imagine if Discord turned Fluttershy into a spirit so he can be with her, and also it would be nice to see Sweet Apple Acres in G5, and also again would your Character be alive in that Age or just make a reborn of your character in that Age lol.

Would Discord lose his power along with equestria? Or is his magic so different from all of equestria and chaotic it wouldn’t affect him? I also was thinking that of fluttershy did in fact die, maybe discord was the cause of magic being lost in equestria. Not saying it’s likely but it’s definitely a possibility. Where is discord’s magic from? How does it differ to pony magic?
This is what I imagine how Discord in G5 would be like: Discord would stay at Fluttershy's old cottage and with Fluttershy gone, Discord would be filled with grief and loneliness. Discord would most of his time mourning at Fluttershy's old cottage because he knows that she's gone. Discord is of afraid going back to ponyville because when he decided to visit the new ponyville again after Fluttershy didn't return, the other ponies were afraid of him, the other ponies thought he didn't change at all and after Discord found out that ponyville isn't the same anymore, Discord decided to leave.
Reminder - The break out breakdown season 8 Spike: For a formerly friendless IMMORTAL despot, you're pretty cynical. This confirm Discord must be part of G5 unless its actually a different universe or unless he was killed in some unknown way.
Oh he's still around unless he passed on his role as Celestial did. If we do see him he will still be carrying his grief, actually if we don't see him its likely because they simply can't use Discord without mentioning his lost. Who knows, they might even be ghosts...as Discord made being ghost canon when Starlight blew him up.

John de Lancie returning for G5 would be great, and I feel like it's not terribly unlikely, as de Lancie certainly does like cashing those checks. However, my gut feeling on that is that he wouldn't be in the movie as his inclusion would just be too much narrative clutter as such an odd and overpowered character in addition to the film having to establish the new cast and the (greatly changed) world for both returning fans AND new viewers, while also telling a compelling-enough complete story. I think the chances of Discord popping up in the G5 series however are pretty decent, where he can be nicely marketed and focused on.
I think they won't include him. They'd just run into the same issue G4 had - Discord was so much more powerful than everyone else in the show that they had to make excuses for his absence or temporary loss of power (like being caught off guard by Tirek, Chrysalis and Cosy Glow betraying him, or magic nullifying changeling hives). Or, in the case of the G4 movie, they didn't explain his absence at all, making it frustrating that he didn't just show up and show the Storm King who's boss. I doubt they want to make more of these kind of underhanded writing conveniences than they already have. It's impossible to have conflict and adventure when Discord is present without these writing tricks.

@@electricheartpony From what Hasbro says they are "canon" as long as they don't contraddict what the show says. And even in the show itself Discord can travel through Dimensions, so I don't see why he couldn't travel though time as well since Hasbro has already used that idea in the comics before.
Discord was the best character in the show in my opinion. I hope he gets a cameo. Heck maybe a very old and big spike is still around seeing as dragons live for so long
That's an interesting take. I'd rather there be an arc where he is grief stricken as dealing with grief is something that I feel is difficult to teach (whether with pets or family or friends.) If they still do lessons ofcourse, a lesson about moving on but not forgetting would be nice for discord. Maybe he meets twilight and they share a friendship moment as they reminisce.

I don't know why but I have the feeling he tried to continue the mane 6 and maybe Luster's progress in Equestria after they were gone, but being the chaotic being he is, he probably caused part of the paranoia and mistrust that lead to g5
I think the entrapment of Twilight/The Mane 6 or the sealing of their powers Is a really good way for their hard work getting so abruptly cut off by Discord or a new villain. Makes a lot more sense than it just fading over time.
Discord has live for more than a thousand years, this is true. But thats because he was turned to stone by Celestia and Luna. The stoned effect might have given him some kind of slow aging or rather, not aging at all. Even if he does exist in G5, he will be very, very, old.
I think that magic was lost cus they banned pizza delivery, and now a loan wolf from the UK has to come and save them with his pizza delivery skills :)
Another question you have to think about is how the princesses like celestia, Luna and cadence may be still there, just because celestia and Luna gave up their crowns, doesn’t mean they give up their immortality/ really long life, and so does cadence and flurry heart, but there’s a chance cadence ran away, and maybe knows the whereabouts of twilight

Since Gen 4 and 5 share a timeline, i think there's a possibility he'd show up (though a pretty small one if theyre trying to be really distinct from G4). I like the idea that maybe he hasn't quite gotten over the passing of Fluttershy and his other friends, and the Mane 5 help him to realize he shouldn't be afraid to make friends in the future because of loss, and that making new friends after the death of an old one isn't the same as replacing them. Simple and generic but I think it'd fit.

You heard the executioner himself. “Together forever.” That means that the trio are still being tortured in Gen 5 as well, so there’s not much of a reason why they wouldn’t still be around. Wouldn’t matter still since they would still be getting tortured.
Actually I had a small fanfic theory on how Discord would handle himself when Fluttershy died. It takes place many yrs in the future and he still lives in Fluttershy’s cottage Twilight comes for a visit to check on him because he has been so withdrawn from society that nearly the entire world believed that he was a myth except Twilight and an OC named Crawling Ivy (whom Discord hired to tend to Fluttershy’s precious animal sanctuary and any animals that call the cottage home). So you see through Twilight’s eyes Discord’s “routine” like every week on a certain days he will have tea but with two cups basically set up on his friendship lessons with Fluttershy, he’ll feed birds and let them rest on his horn and antler, and even let Angel’s descendants roam the cottage. Twilight is worried by his isolation but the main reason is that long before Fluttershy died she and discord got married and she laid a draconequess (hope I spelled that correctly) but it hasn’t hatched yet. So Discord has been roughly waiting three centuries to met his child. And hadn’t left it’s side to protect it since it’s one of his last connections to Fluttershy
i think equestria goes salem trial on twilight and her friends meaning that just like in ending of the end but worse twilight's accomplishments meant so little to equestria that her own subject betrayed her trust and killed her and her friends because they hate friendship and other races and wanted to live in peace in their own selfish way and if discord found out about this in his realm i think given the way he reverts to a 2 year old throwing atantrum everytime i think he'd do that on purpose for revenge and 1 part of his revenge is reasuurecting king sombra and freeing tirek chrysalis and cozy glow from stone and bringing back the real grogar so that equestria suffors for what they did because he refuses to forgive equestria and the 5 villains he set free start to reform out of fear of discord who has lost so much of his way not only does he die but his magic becomes one with equestria causing chaotic things simliar to what usually happens in our world today and sunni and her 4 friends join forces with grogar and his legion of doom to undo the chaos bring equestria back together, restore the magic of friendship and help discord find peace so he can be with fluttershy
Discord could be so depressed for the loss of Fluttershy that he could not deal with the turmoil that Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy Glow would be throwing towards Equestria at all!
What if Flutter shy died first so Discord was broken and the rest of the main 5 (since shes gone) will try to confort him with kindness witch reminds him of Flutter shy and her turned the rest of the group in to stone for so long that the world fell apart and yeah maby??
I really like your idea of Discord turning Twilight into stone! It would make a lot of sense! Plus that would be Mlp crew's chance to redeem themselves for fucking up the the whole legacy of G4! He turned her into stone and that's why she wasn't able to stop Equestria from falling apart like she and her friends did beforehand. If they don't find a good excuse as this, I won't ever be able to forgive them for ruining the legacy and the whole point why G4 was created.
I think the mane 6 would have been made immortal due to their importance and them possibly ruling alongside twilight I also believe disharmony had spread as seen in the last bit of season 9 and the elements of harmony being destroyed and all and the mane 6 being older they couldent stop the disharmony, causing the events talked about in generation 5 to happen.
The only character I could see returning in the upcoming movie is Spike, and the older Spike could tell Sunny and her friends the story of what happen to Equestria that caused Friendship and Magic to disappear.
Well this make sense but discord cares about the rest of the mane 6 just as much as fluttershy and if the others did pass he has twilight who will be there for him in his time of need its also what she had learned while becoming the princess of friendship.
There was the whole "twilight won't outlive her friends" thing. So that either means she died around the same time (somehow) or the others became "immortal/long lived" as well
Imagine that more of Discord's species show up like out of nowhere because of a magical thing that happened so long ago and we start to see more of his kind living somewhere as a result of this magical event that brought them all back home. It would be a similar event to the Crystal Empire reapearing except that it only brings back a species thought to be nearly extinct with only one left, Discord. It won't be the same generation of the species as they have been living somewhere else due to something mysterious that caused them to be teleported or captured with a way to still live and continue the population over the years causing the future generations to still be there. Like if one of them was a great great grandson of someone Discord used to know or something along that lines. It'd be a great way to show more of that species and have a way to reuse Discord's species design so it's just not lost in the past.
I think he will be around. He's immortal. So, even if we will not see him or even if he isn't mentioned, he will be there. I mean, it's the same universe, right?
There is a third thing that could happen to Dicord. He disappeared becuse he became so grief sticking that he stoped causing Chaos and thus vanished. Causing The Bad 3 (Cozzy Glow, Chrysalis and Treck) to be free. And they are causing (ironicly) choas causing pony kind and all other creatures to divide and hate each other once again. I'm sure the Moive will start with only Ponys but if a show spawns after. Then it will probly delve into other creatures. I think the first will be dragons. Either Spike if he too is alive. Or maybe a decendent of Spike. Only time will tell I guess.
Although Discord made not much of an appearance in the 2017 movie (during the credits), I have a feeling he might be shown trying to commit suicide after the Mane 6 had died, minus Twilight, because he loved Fluttershy too much to see her go. Just like Titanic, he felt the same way Rose did when jack froze to death in the icy Atlantic, that he simply wouldn't let go of her deceased corpse, having ruled Equestria peacefully alongside his redeemers/friends.
I just don't see Discord coming back in G5. For one thing, Dr. Wolf's scenario would mean a key G5 plot point ("Equestria has lost its magic and disharmony and suspicion reign supreme") was dependent on a character who was developed in G4 and whose story continued in a different direction post-G4. That's just too much baggage from G4. (Plus, the idea of Discord turning Twilight Sparkle to stone is kind of horrifying.) I really think that for the most part, they are going to make G5 its own story, and will not lean that hard on G4 backstories and character development. That said, John DeLancie's character Q does pop up in various generations of Star Trek. But I think his role in that franchise is somewhat different from Discord's role in MLP.

Dr Wolf, You mentioned in this video that Discord turned Twilight into Stone. But if you re-review the episode where the CMC's are in teh Everfree chasing down one of Fluttershy's chickens, the statue of Twilight was caused by a Cockatrace, not Discord. Mr.Flamin'Kisses

As much as i'm hoping that Discord appears in G5, without Fluttershy around i have no doubt that Discord would probably be so stricken with grief that he would no longer be in Equestria anymore, or maybe he'd stay at Fluttershy's old cottage because it's pretty much all he would have left of her.

In the MLP comics Discord has a literal time machine that he uses with Fluttershy and the CMC to go both in the past and the future, so once Fluttershy passes away, Discord can easily go back to when she was still alive and spend time with her, so her death wouldn't really be a problem for him.
Also, in the show he can travel through dimensions so logically he could just travel to a dimension where Fluttershy is an Alicorn or something and has a longer life span.
I hope discord AT LEAST gets an appearance, idk care if he talks or not, i just want to see him in g5 he’s my favorite character

despite his immaturity, and knowing that losing Fluttershy would hit him hard, he does honestly see Twilight as a friend. So Twilight could act as a point of stability for him and vice versa.
Yeah discord likes to troll her but Twilight is definitely his second favorite pony i don't see him turning her to stone, and she values him as a friend too despite being annoyed by his antics as she has a picture of him on her mirror surrounded by all her friends.
What if after Fluttershy died, he wa manipulated by a villain like he was by Tirek in S4? He could easily return to his evil side if he was struck with grief. Especially if Fluttershy died from non-natural causes, like if a pony killed her and Discord then started to hate Equestria.

Weirdly, if they do bring Discord back, I kind of want to see him as a mentor figure to the new cast. I'd be interesting to see a Discord who, after spending an entire lifetime with the mane six, plus however long the time skip is, has finally matured to the point where he can pass on their lessons in his own chaotic way.

Yeah he has tried to take on a mentor role before and while he is trying to help its been mixed results to probably say the least. Discord finally after years of experience and growing as a being, becoming a great teacher would be an amazing progression.

I think the idea of discord sealing himself off from equestria after fluttershy dies, and his grief causes his powers to overflow, causing equestria's ponies and other species to go into a more chaotic period. And, even after discord gets these feelings under control, the damage was already done. Ponies, without knowing it was discord that caused their chaotic action before, would assume the peace between them was no longer there. And Twilight is considered to have abandoned them, so they go into the state of mind we see in g5 after however long it's been since discord got his grief and feelings of loss under control. Discord also knows he can't make things right, not only because the damage was already done, but also he might think without the mane 6 and spike around to support the fact he was a good guy now, they might seal him in tartarus. Or, perhaps worse for discord, the royal family of the time would banish him from equestria for all eternity, meaning he could never visit the grave of his beloved fluttershy. But, in honor of her memory, he controls his anger, and leaves, never to return. That is until Sunny reunites the pony races, and maybe all the other races too. With them reunited, sunny and her friends are viewed as heroes. Sunny then reveals to everyone through her copy of the friendship journal, and other relics from the mane 6, that discord really had changed for the better and what he had said centuries earlier was probably true. His powers creating these issues in the first place probably was indeed from grief and was not intentional. Thus, he appears at the end of the movie or in an after credits scene as just a quick appearance. I kniw it's all so fanfic like, but i really want this little tidbit to occur. Obviously not in the main plot, but maybe the discord scene is the first hint we have that he might return throughput g5, and then whatever happens in the rest of g5 explains the story of what happened to discord and why he's allowed bavk into equestria. But, that's probably just a lot of wishful and hopeful thinking.
That's not what i'm trying to say. I'm not talking about ponies disrespecting discord's memory. I'm talking about discord keeping his emotions under control in honor of fluttershy after he realized what his inability to control them had caused to happen. I said nothing about him going crazy and unleashing his full power. I’d imagine him going on a depression-induced spiritual journey wondering what he’s supposed to do now without Fluttershy and hoping around timelines and other dimensions on a journey without a destination. Maybe even looking for a timeline where she is still alive? Then every once in a while he would pester Twilight in hiding because she’s the only friend that he has that’s still alive but Twilight is afraid that he would expose her when ponies aren’t ready to see her and Magic again. So she Isolates him further for the safety of Equestria.
He would also be upset that Big Mac and possibly spike passed away too

It was so orderly that with its construction, Discord destroyed himself like what almost happened in Discordant Harmony.
I can't help but think discord just got to bored and went to sleep with the passing of G4, if he has no friends, Chaos wouldn't be as fun anymore.
I could see him going back to being somewhat of a villain. Maybe not as bad as he was before his reformation, but a darker version of the reformed Discord. Without Fluttershy and the Mane 6, he's lost his "moral compass" to some extent.

We don't know if he can travel through time, comics aren't really canon. However he HAS ability to travel through other dimensions as shown in Smooze episode so he could appear in G5 anyway even if it's in another uninverse
@@MrConredsX Actually Hasbro & even some of the comic staff have stated "The comics are canon unless they majorly contradict the show" but this rule was only in effect while the show was running. Now that the show is over everything onwards in the MLP comics & Manga are canon because they all fall under season 10. Except for the Transformers crossover of course. That is confirmed to be non-canon and only for fun by the comic staff).
A good example of this is the original "Starswirl vs Dazzlings" comic becoming non-canon thanks to season 7.

Assuming what most people think about Dragons living extremely long lifespans (and in some cases immortal), Spike, Ember, and Smolder may all be around too. Assuming dragons of MLP carry that same lore. Judging by how deep the show delves into D&D as ancient myth, I'd assume so. We may find Spike being a large ancient dragon hiding from the world, similar to how he was in Fallout Equestria.
i hope spike and ember rule the dragons and the mane 5 are on a journey to the dragon lands and find them and then they become mentor characters
If I’m being honest I could see Discord consumed by grief but not doing anything harmful. He could just be sitting on the remains of Fluttershy’s cottage, not moving, maybe even rather than turning twilight to stone, he does it to himself, it could be that the pain of a world without Fluttershy is too much for him and he focuses his magic on himself and turns back to stone, this time there’s no undoing it; he’s stone forever, there’s no bringing him back he’s encased himself and his mind goes to eternal sleep(it’s not death but it’s as good as)
I'm just imagining the g5 cast going on an epic adventure, and at the end of their journey, they come to a door, which they open up to reveal Discord, Spike, and Twilight all sitting around the O & O table and offering them a spot.

After season 4 of generation 4, the show started throwing in darker, and darker elements. Granted, this is still a family show, so they would never go too dark.
However, given the recent change in pace with how kids learn, it wouldn't surprise me if they explored the subject of grief or the consequences of being ageless. And there are plenty of family shows that have taken on issues like these.
Given that it's a show about colorful horses, they possibly never will take this on.

I havent read all of the comics but I recall that Discord has had companions like Fluttershy before, they went "back in time" in one comic as he tried to show the cutie mark crusaders some fun while agreeing to babysit them (and messing up accidently) and they run into some old companions he's had, who also comment on Fluttershy with him now... So that says a lot, maybe it implies he would be able to move on (though I agree fluttery is the most impactful person he's ever had in his life) and he was still "evil" when he paled around with the other companions in the past given being friendly and good was NEW to him in FIM... Or maybe he would use his time travel powers to remain in the past mostly and hang out with his friends again, forever? Who knows.
Being that Discord has at least the appearance of being immortal, I think that Discord wouldn't really have a reason for hanging around Equestria if Fluttershy is gone. It seems the only reason he does anything helpful with his chaos is when Fluttershy is in danger. He obviously cares for her a great deal (if it hasn't evolved into full on love at this point), being his first friend and all. Even though he may have a "professional" friendliness towards the rest of them, I think Fluttershy is his reason, at minimum, to even hang around. Without her, he has no other reason, and short of going full on dark with Discord giving up his immortality (which I highly doubt the writers would do), I don't think he'd stay. Out of kindness/love/honoring Flutters memory, he may return to his old ways, but leave the world of Equestria alone.

This is what I imagine how Discord in G5 would be like:
Discord would stay at Fluttershy's old cottage and with Fluttershy gone, Discord would be filled with grief and loneliness. Discord would most of his time mourning at Fluttershy's old cottage because he knows that she's gone. Discord is of afraid going back to ponyville because when he decided to visit the new ponyville again after Fluttershy didn't return, the other ponies were afraid of him, the other ponies thought he didn't change at all and after Discord found out that ponyville isn't the same anymore, Discord decided to leave.

John de Lancie returning for G5 would be great, and I feel like it's not terribly unlikely, as de Lancie certainly does like cashing those checks.
However, my gut feeling on that is that he wouldn't be in the movie as his inclusion would just be too much narrative clutter as such an odd and overpowered character in addition to the film having to establish the new cast and the (greatly changed) world for both returning fans AND new viewers, while also telling a compelling-enough complete story.
I think the chances of Discord popping up in the G5 series however are pretty decent, where he can be nicely marketed and focused on.

They'd just run into the same issue G4 had - Discord was so much more powerful than everyone else in the show that they had to make excuses for his absence or temporary loss of power (like being caught off guard by Tirek, Chrysalis and Cosy Glow betraying him, or magic nullifying changeling hives). Or, in the case of the G4 movie, they didn't explain his absence at all, making it frustrating that he didn't just show up and show the Storm King who's boss.
I doubt they want to make more of these kind of underhanded writing conveniences than they already have. It's impossible to have conflict and adventure when Discord is present without these writing tricks.
I don't think that anyone from G4 will be making a comeback, but I expect many easter eggs refering to G4 and even other generations.

That's an interesting take. I'd rather there be an arc where he is grief stricken as dealing with grief is something that I feel is difficult to teach (whether with pets or family or friends.) If they still do lessons ofcourse, a lesson about moving on but not forgetting would be nice for discord. Maybe he meets twilight and they share a friendship moment as they reminisce.

I don't know why but I have the feeling he tried to continue the mane 6 and maybe Luster's progress in Equestria after they were gone, but being the chaotic being he is, he probably caused part of the paranoia and mistrust that lead to g5

I think the entrapment of Twilight/The Mane 6 or the sealing of their powers Is a really good way for their hard work getting so abruptly cut off by Discord or a new villain. Makes a lot more sense than it just fading over time.

Discord has live for more than a thousand years, this is true. But thats because he was turned to stone by Celestia and Luna. The stoned effect might have given him some kind of slow aging or rather, not aging at all. Even if he does exist in G5, he will be very, very, old.

Another question you have to think about is how the princesses like celestia, Luna and cadence may be still there, just because celestia and Luna gave up their crowns, doesn’t mean they give up their immortality/ really long life, and so does cadence and flurry heart, but there’s a chance cadence ran away, and maybe knows the whereabouts of twilight

Since Gen 4 and 5 share a timeline, i think there's a possibility he'd show up (though a pretty small one if theyre trying to be really distinct from G4).
I like the idea that maybe he hasn't quite gotten over the passing of Fluttershy and his other friends, and the Mane 5 help him to realize he shouldn't be afraid to make friends in the future because of loss, and that making new friends after the death of an old one isn't the same as replacing them. Simple and generic but I think it'd fit.

You heard the executioner himself. “Together forever.” That means that the trio are still being tortured in Gen 5 as well, so there’s not much of a reason why they wouldn’t still be around. Wouldn’t matter still since they would still be getting tortured.
Actually I had a small fanfic theory on how Discord would handle himself when Fluttershy died. It takes place many yrs in the future and he still lives in Fluttershy’s cottage Twilight comes for a visit to check on him because he has been so withdrawn from society that nearly the entire world believed that he was a myth except Twilight and an OC named Crawling Ivy (whom Discord hired to tend to Fluttershy’s precious animal sanctuary and any animals that call the cottage home). So you see through Twilight’s eyes Discord’s “routine” like every week on a certain days he will have tea but with two cups basically set up on his friendship lessons with Fluttershy, he’ll feed birds and let them rest on his horn and antler, and even let Angel’s descendants roam the cottage. Twilight is worried by his isolation but the main reason is that long before Fluttershy died she and discord got married and she laid a draconequess (hope I spelled that correctly) but it hasn’t hatched yet. So Discord has been roughly waiting three centuries to met his child. And hadn’t left it’s side to protect it since it’s one of his last connections to Fluttershy
i think equestria goes salem trial on twilight and her friends meaning that just like in ending of the end but worse twilight's accomplishments meant so little to equestria that her own subject betrayed her trust and killed her and her friends because they hate friendship and other races and wanted to live in peace in their own selfish way and if discord found out about this in his realm i think given the way he reverts to a 2 year old throwing atantrum everytime i think he'd do that on purpose for revenge and 1 part of his revenge is reasuurecting king sombra and freeing tirek chrysalis and cozy glow from stone and bringing back the real grogar so that equestria suffors for what they did because he refuses to forgive equestria and the 5 villains he set free start to reform out of fear of discord who has lost so much of his way not only does he die but his magic becomes one with equestria causing chaotic things simliar to what usually happens in our world today and sunni and her 4 friends join forces with grogar and his legion of doom to undo the chaos bring equestria back together, restore the magic of friendship and help discord find peace so he can be with fluttershy

What if Flutter shy died first so Discord was broken and the rest of the main 5 (since shes gone) will try to confort him with kindness witch reminds him of Flutter shy and her turned the rest of the group in to stone for so long that the world fell apart and yeah maby??

I really like your idea of Discord turning Twilight into stone! It would make a lot of sense! Plus that would be Mlp crew's chance to redeem themselves for fucking up the the whole legacy of G4! He turned her into stone and that's why she wasn't able to stop Equestria from falling apart like she and her friends did beforehand. If they don't find a good excuse as this, I won't ever be able to forgive them for ruining the legacy and the whole point why G4 was created.
I think the mane 6 would have been made immortal due to their importance and them possibly ruling alongside twilight
I also believe disharmony had spread as seen in the last bit of season 9 and the elements of harmony being destroyed and all and the mane 6 being older they couldent stop the disharmony, causing the events talked about in generation 5 to happen.

The only character I could see returning in the upcoming movie is Spike, and the older Spike could tell Sunny and her friends the story of what happen to Equestria that caused Friendship and Magic to disappear.

Well this make sense but discord cares about the rest of the mane 6 just as much as fluttershy and if the others did pass he has twilight who will be there for him in his time of need its also what she had learned while becoming the princess of friendship.
There was the whole "twilight won't outlive her friends" thing. So that either means she died around the same time (somehow) or the others became "immortal/long lived" as well
Imagine that more of Discord's species show up like out of nowhere because of a magical thing that happened so long ago and we start to see more of his kind living somewhere as a result of this magical event that brought them all back home.
It would be a similar event to the Crystal Empire reapearing except that it only brings back a species thought to be nearly extinct with only one left, Discord.
It won't be the same generation of the species as they have been living somewhere else due to something mysterious that caused them to be teleported or captured with a way to still live and continue the population over the years causing the future generations to still be there.
Like if one of them was a great great grandson of someone Discord used to know or something along that lines.
It'd be a great way to show more of that species and have a way to reuse Discord's species design so it's just not lost in the past.

There is a third thing that could happen to Dicord. He disappeared becuse he became so grief sticking that he stoped causing Chaos and thus vanished. Causing The Bad 3 (Cozzy Glow, Chrysalis and Treck) to be free. And they are causing (ironicly) choas causing pony kind and all other creatures to divide and hate each other once again. I'm sure the Moive will start with only Ponys but if a show spawns after. Then it will probly delve into other creatures. I think the first will be dragons. Either Spike if he too is alive. Or maybe a decendent of Spike. Only time will tell I guess.
Although Discord made not much of an appearance in the 2017 movie (during the credits), I have a feeling he might be shown trying to commit suicide after the Mane 6 had died, minus Twilight, because he loved Fluttershy too much to see her go. Just like Titanic, he felt the same way Rose did when jack froze to death in the icy Atlantic, that he simply wouldn't let go of her deceased corpse, having ruled Equestria peacefully alongside his redeemers/friends.

I just don't see Discord coming back in G5. For one thing, Dr. Wolf's scenario would mean a key G5 plot point ("Equestria has lost its magic and disharmony and suspicion reign supreme") was dependent on a character who was developed in G4 and whose story continued in a different direction post-G4. That's just too much baggage from G4. (Plus, the idea of Discord turning Twilight Sparkle to stone is kind of horrifying.) I really think that for the most part, they are going to make G5 its own story, and will not lean that hard on G4 backstories and character development.
That said, John DeLancie's character Q does pop up in various generations of Star Trek. But I think his role in that franchise is somewhat different from Discord's role in MLP.
Sure why no. In my head canon, Discord is the initial god and immortal creator of the pony universe who was originally punished because this one was too chaotic before.
Love to see the old cast again, but hasbro can't keep beating a dead horse. Heh had to... TBH if he's that grief striken It wouldn't surprise me that he'd turn himself into a statue near fluttershy's grave. If you can't go on and your immoral? Next best thing is a deep sleep. You mentioned in this video that Discord turned Twilight into Stone. But if you re-review the episode where the CMC's are in teh Everfree chasing down one of Fluttershy's chickens, the statue of Twilight was caused by a Cockatrace, not Discord.
