Looking back on this I think I did yes.Unfortunately my is very temperamental. But I’m working on being better videos with better results all the time. They were tasty tho… hope you try them both again
@@ChristopherShaun Yea no problem, making cookies probably took me 10 tries to get right lol! Every time a step was fudged and then I had major issues with my oven calibration. I learned a lot, but here's something I know shared by all bakers: So basically any cookie u make u need to pull out when just it browns around the edges and it looks like wet in the middle. Let them cool for 2 minutes then pull them off immediately, using your parchment paper, pull it so u get all the cookies on the paper onto your counter or cooling rack so it doesn't get hard or steamed.

Jemma’s wasn’t it. The dough was way too dry and that is NOT Levain! I’ve never understood the complexity people encounter with recreating this dough because it is very simple. Levain tells people exactly what to do. I’ve tasted better cookies than Levain’s. I really enjoyed this video 😊
Im gonna hold my hands up, I did over bake them as my oven was pretty dodgy. But I’m glad you enjoyed the video still. I promise to do better next time
I've made cupcake jemmas recipe. If you make it right should be gooey in the middle not crumbly.
Yea I wondered this. I haven’t made them but have watched other reviews where they looked a lot more like that. Might be over baked
You over baked the cookies for cupcake Jemma mine came out crunchy outside and gooey inside every time.

Ok he made jemma's wrong because it's 230g butter not 250g butter!!
Also he's using demerara sugar not soft brown sugar!!!
U made cupcake jemma recipe wrong.. I have made many of her recipes .. exactly as is and they turn out wonderful
The only thing I got wrong was my oven. It sucks haha. So was in there bit too long. But I did say they were awesome. I couldn’t even decide a winner

Ahhh no that’s not good. Hand mixers maybe arnt quite strong enough. I’m sorry to hear that. Rest in peace hand mixer.

Both were over baked and not like a Levain cookie. Need to redo and follow recipe more closely.

keep the dough in fridge for 3 days and it will give a night and day diffrence. and no need to use good vanilla(americas test kitchen)
What does that do? Does it "ripen" the dough? Or is it more about hydration?
Yeah but I had to follow the two recipes. That’s the point of the video haha.
More than likely it will develop a bit more flavour as it give the ingredients a good time to get to know each other and become a family
