It would still be able to have someone on their back and the reason people don't do it more often is because They are very hard to domesticate, much harder than horses
Zebras are much wilder than a horse.... A bit bigger as well... 800lbs is a lot...not good to ride them, they will throw you off and then go bite you..
They can be cross-bred. Beside the back issue, zebras cannot be domesticated properly, so they'd never be suitable as riding animals. But the cross (a zebroid) has most of the characteristics of a pony. Very sturdy and self-sufficient.
People down here are comparing how much worse they are to horses. Not it their back, but with domestication? Through breeding their will be wild ones, but their can be calmer ones too. It’s all how you raise them. I’ve had a horse that was absolutely insane. (We got him as a rescue when he was 12) and we’ve also bought a horse (he’s 24 now) and he’s an absolute puppy dog, all he wants is attention. So it’s really not about the zebra being wild, it’s about their back. But none the less their back would be able to handle a small person. I feel the bigger concern would be the saddle.
@Toastyl I remember when I was a kid watching a show about mustangs and seeing a mustang stallion pick up a baby with its mouth and beat it to death. Apparently zebras are supposed to be even more aggressive than horses.
The Amarillo reminds me if a roly poly, and a sweet potato had a child😅 Its so cute as well as every animal💜 Did Charles Darwin encounter that centipede? Lol I'll stop. But like actually?

Missy Callihan I understand your point. I agree to an extent, but this is late night tv, the job of the host and the comedic guest is to engage the audience. You should check out david letterman and jack Hannah segments, this isn’t a show about finding out encyclopedic info of rare species. It’s entertainment and supposed to be fun. This particular guest has been on this show many many times and is well aware of how this works. Him appearing on the show does a lot more for him than it does for Jimmy. It is actually a favor to have him on. This is a show that reaches millions. A lot more than what ever show he usually hosts on an obscure wildlife channel.
it's not because of the animals. It's because of the other two nobs with their constant side commentary preventing the guest from ever saying anything.

Taylor Humphrey and Colbert
Taylor Humphrey I disagree with your opinion. I’ve seen many videos of Fallon, he might be scared but he’s very interested about knowing the animals Robin Irwin brings to his show
Conan is da best with animals !
It's so heartening to see that guys like Dave really love their jobs..you can see the passion in his eyes and voice for this..Same can't be said about Jimmy tho!
Hate it when the host/guest interrupts the person who brings the animals. I WANNA KNOW WHY ZEBRAS HAVE STRIPES!! LET THE MAN TALK!!
This Jimmy's animal segments are so much better than those of the other Jimmy.
My fsvirite guest with dave salmoni was Keegan, he legit asked good questions, listened, wanted to interract, and behaved well with all his animals
But Jimmy wouldnt shut it
I feel like Dave gets annoyed when he gets interrupted😂
And that goes for Robert Irwin and Jack Hanna
Who wouldn't? If yr getting interrupted 100 times
As he should lol
I mean who wouldn’t? He seems soo passionate and I just hate it when they interrupt him like that :/
Truly love how passionate Dave is, wow.
PSA: Zebras have much weaker backs than horses. Bad idea to ride them, or else people would do it more often obviously.
Was gonna say that
People down here are comparing how much worse they are to horses.
Was Waiting for Tracy Morgan to say "I'm Brian Fellows!"
9:53 look at Dave’s face like he was so excited to say something fascinating...and break, and look at his depressed face 😫😭poor guy
Can't wait to see them inviting guests that keep the hell quiet and are not scared of interacting with such incredible animals.
the little anteater looks like he's wearing a sweater and i'm all for it
"I like it when you bring animals that aren't dangerous."
I guess he's never seen a pissed-off zebra.
@Toastyl I remember when I was a kid watching a show about mustangs and seeing a mustang stallion pick up a baby with its mouth and beat it to death. Apparently zebras are supposed to be even more aggressive than horses.
No, most people haven't
1:38 he's so adorable hes such a babyyyy
Ant eater lifts his hand to eat :
Audience : awwwwwwww!
"they're Africa animals, Africans get to name them!"..nailed it
0:42 Sweet wholesome exchange :’)
I love this person! Dave Salmoni! Best person with animals ❤️
The Amarillo reminds me if a roly poly, and a sweet potato had a child😅 Its so cute as well as every animal💜
Did Charles Darwin encounter that centipede? Lol I'll stop.
But like actually?
Dave : ... He hugs them to death
Jimmy : ... Oh! Well that's cute 😦..
😂😂
9:05 those are a common thing in my country but if you're clean enough with your house there's a high chance that you're not going to meet them. When l was a child one of those was hugging to my finger while l was asleep and it didn't bite me because l didn't do any aggresive movement.
I like Dave. He is so informative and passionate about the animals, which makes the veiwers listen with all their attention
I can just imagine the deep sigh Jimmy must make when he hears 'Today's guest is Dave Salmoni.."
Tracy Morgan and the Tamandua be matching 😂😂😂
Kirsten Bell should have been there instead of Tracy! We could have seen cute sloth and Kirsten Bell having an emotional breakdown!!
I love these segments when he brings out these animals ❤️ I learn about animals I never ever knew of !!
I only watched for Tracy's reactions and quips. Love this man.
If I was that guy I wouldn’t want to come back to the show because they are so rude cutting him off everytime he spoke. 😡
Missy Callihan you realize most people know who he is because of this show. It’s an entertainment show not a documentary.
Uzzie B doesn’t matter it’s so rude to talk over others. At least wait until they get done speaking before you talk.
Uzzie B I swear people slow, I only know him cuz of kimmel
@@nemomemo9253 I hate people like that smh, go watch animal planet or sum
I’d rather see less animals and hear more about them. This is my favorite segment but it feels too rushed..
it's not because of the animals. It's because of the other two nobs with their constant side commentary preventing the guest from ever saying anything.
Its only rushed because they are what's called segments not the a whole show lol he comedian with a show (not only for animals) plus jimmy doesnt need dave, dave needs jimmy lol
They looked at the sloth for like 30 seconds...
I love what Dave does. People who love animals make better humans. 😊
The best bit was Tracy’s smile after he said “riceroni, the San Francisco treat” 😂😂😂
3:34 just say you got kicked my a murderous oreo pony, now that would make a very interesting conversation
It's so weird how sloths are really good swimmers..😂
the only thing I don’t like about this is how they never let him speak and the don’t really participate
I like learning the information but it’s pretty hard to hear him sometimes
When Dave first walked out I though was carrying the anteater in a baby carrier thingy 😂😂😂
I love watching the episodes he’s in 😭
