I prefer Walkarounds just because they give the best of both worlds and relatively speaking, some of them are more competitively priced than their center console cousins. My favorite is Striper 230 Walkaround. It's a fishing machine but it also has a decent cabin with plenty of seating space, a table that converts to a bed, a fresh water sink and a porta potti with a pump out. One could easily spend the weekend on that boat. Fish, swim, grill and sleep on the boat and not spend a fortune doing it. It is cheaper than all three center consoles on this video. A Walkaround simply gives more value for your money and more time on the water too, and that's what a real boater wants.
I cannot imagine buying a new boat - the depreciation curve is just too damn steep... In 2013, I bought a 2001 Grady White 265 Express for about 25% of what it cost new... The HPDIs had 800 hours, but everything checked out, and I've enjoyed every minute on it for the last seven years... Best of all, it's paid off and costs only gas, oil, and parts since I do most of the maintenance myself... As long as you do a detailed survey and keep the engine(s) well maintained, buying a used boat can be a great way to go...
@@juxhinmeminaj3446 I paid 25% of what the boat cost new - so, it depreciated 75%... I have made numerous upgrades in the years since, and I have replaced just about everything that isn't permanently installed... Taking all that into account, I could probably sell it today for far more than I paid for it, and I could probably get back a big chunk of what I've paid to keep it up to date - largely because I do most of the work myself...
Matthew Barton, I would add to your comment about your well thought out purchase that you picked out a boat worth investing your time and money into. Unless it's been thoroughly abused and if it is priced right, it's hard to go wrong with a GW, Mako, Whaler, et al, even at 15+ years old.
Definitely, Streamline #1 option out of the three. Hey I love your videos good content and straight to the point ...... this channel became my favorite one keep feeding us with more videos and next time I will catch you off shore 🌊
Great Videos. Thank you for not taking all day to get your point across. So many videos pop up that are 25 minutes long. Give me a break 😆. Maybe for an engine rebuild videos. Love your channel 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Never heard of Streamline before, but it's a looker. You've got me curious. The Cobia would have been my pick before and if I can come up with the cake, their 262cc is my fav.
Was down too the 24 cobia and the 23 tidewater on my boat search. I hit my head on the rocket launchers on the cobia could of ordered boat with out it ,and had one customized. Long story short with the same electronics , the cobia was 30 grand more however it had a 300 compared to the 250 on tidewater it had some little extras but I couldn’t see 30 grands worth. And tidewater has more cockpit. So I’m waiting for TW should be in by May. But the cobia is nice. My TW final cost with custom console cover, and seat covers. Isinglass. Full garmin package including radar, trailer. And tax. 85;600.
Nice video. Short and to the point. I’m subscribing just because of that. Cobia or a Bayliner is my choice of a cheap dependable CC. I’ll give the Streamliner a look though.
TIDEWATER 220CC WITH HARDTOP, YAMI 200 AND A BUNCH OF AMENITIES, including deluxe captain helm, lighting everywhere, deluxe seating, big console , wash down, Defender quick cleats, live well, dual battery etc ALL FOR $66K AND IT RIDES GREAT !! I LOVE MINE AND HAVE NO ATTACHMENTS AT ALL TO TIDEWATER OTHER THEN I LOVE MY BOAT !!
I have a 99 cobia 174 (my 1st boat) and just bought an 05 Pathfinder. Both are apart of the Maverick hewes company. They make solid boats. I'd go with the Pathfinder of these 3 though.
I have not watched the video yet, but my 2022 Sportsman 232 Open, Island Blue, White seating, beats them all. I got most all options including having my Yamaha 250 painted white. All for a grand total of $83,000 w magic tilt trailer. She finally came in Memorial Day weekend 2022. Of course now if I wanted to sell her......I could get easily $125,000. Yea I ordered her in Sept 2021, put 10% down :D
I’d like your opinion of the Yamaha 255 FSH center console boat verse your top picks. I think the prop less boat could play a big role in Florida. No props twin 250’s and price wise under 100 K.
I’m just the opposite situation with wife prodding me to get a better boat but I haven’t had a boat payment forever. Everything is so overpriced anymore. Still fun to look though and going to the Tampa boat show in a couple weeks too.
All under 100k without electronics(or very basic), no trailers, and not many features that are usually seen on the boats when you go to check them out at boat shows or dealerships, like high end upholstery, livewell/washdown systems, it’s very hard to get into a boat in that size range under 100k unless you want to have a barebones boat. If it was 15 years ago, not many people had issues with them being basic. Today everyone wants, custom colors, upholstery, the biggest and best electronics (furuno/Garmin units, JL/Fusion audio, custom upholstery and helm chairs) and believe it or not. But that can kill the price of a new boat and push it way past the budget of someone looking to buy. It’s unfortunate because manufacturing costs will be the same or lower, but not labor or technology. That will always get higher and drive the cost up
I like your videos by the way. And out of these three I would stick with the cobia. They've got a good Hull layup, or at least they used to when they were on by Red Wing. I'm curious about streamline now. I want to look into how they are put together. I want to make sure they're not another Bayliner catastrophe. What a piece of trash that was. Lol. Right now I drive the robalo 242 walk around. It's nice having that cabin to dunk into when you need to, especially for guests. And with the walk around people can still fish the Bow, granted not quite as easily as they can on the center console. I'm grown up offshore and have been on all of them.
Definitely the Streamline Boat love the lines of her but don't know how she would fare in Africa as our conditions are much harder than where she comes from...
I’m just starting to do some research on buying a boat for around 100k. I love center console but I hate getting wet when I don’t want to. And ideas. Thanks
About a year since this video was released. Nov 2022 for this comment, the Cobia 240CC was 150k at the Ft. Lauderdale boat show. With twin 150's its perfect for my needs. That 80-100k for the boat brand new is a great price, but 150? Helllllll No. The 26' version was 200k! Nuts, waiting for this market crash to get these prices back to normal
FYI Regulator or Grady White need to be on the list. Also are you comparing to the rides cuz if so I would take cobia down and put Regulator or Grady White
Why didn't sea pro 219 CC make the list... believe it's price point puts it at upper 80Ks and with a big Carolina bow its capable of off shore and family fun... just my 2 cents
Cheapest 2500 pathfinder i could find was 140,000 new. Thats pushing double your stated price. In fact couldn’t even find a used one close to your stated price. Dang.
I was sold on the Streamline until I got inside one. I could not get over the bathtub feel. Not trying to knock them as I like what the company is doing at the different price points; just wasn't the right boat for me. In the end, I went with a 3 piece hull.
My only warning I’d say to people wanting a pathfinder is to make sure that you really aren’t going outside of the bay. I was new to boating, bought one, and quickly wanted to go into choppier seas for more deep sea fishing. If you’re going to buy brand new get something like the streamline for sure. Pathfinder is a great boat just make sure you know for sure what you want before you buy.
How a year changes things u can’t even come close to those prices anymore! The streamline will run u 50k more not equipped w much and a lot more if u deck it out!
