Great boat. I almost bought one, but went with a GW because the build quality was just better, there are little things you notice as a boat builder. The Contenders are more flashy though, which will attract more people.

The Contender is a sports car, but is lighter (less glass) and will fall off plane at higher speed. As you note, the Contender is more efficient running fast, you just have to run fast. The GW has a more solid, thicker feel to me, with less flex, and I trust it with my family, but it is a heavier boat with a slighter dead-rise in the stern. If It was just me, I would get a Contender or more likely a Yellowfin, just a step above. Great video BTW, very well thought out. Keep it going, you do an exceptional job.
I literally can't fathom a boat that costs $179,999. That's more than some people's houses. A $70,000 freshwater boat is nearly top of the line. Salt water is a different ballgame all together.

Agree.I bought a 2004 Rinker 282BR brand new off the showroom floor for 60k.It has a 496/375hp mercruiser and runs strong.My dealer told me a boat comparable to mine is at least 150k.Sure the new ones have more bells and whistles but come on.These center consoles are stupid money.

Had 3 contenders all 23' back in the early 90's and I did stuff to them that is being done today I was the first to put rod holders all around the boat like they do today and many things that contender does because we had become well know with the fishing in a small c/c. are first contender was 23' with twin 200 mercury's on it it ran 73 mph how do I know this is because FWC clocked me between north palm beach marina and blue herion bridge. And Yes contender is the best true sportmans boat out there. I own a 31 bertram now

Today you can't find a boat like this. 2005 Contenders are going for 150K. That boat was at a good price then and now :)
