This book looks beautiful. I remember buying so many of the 2099 comics out of the quarter boxes at the flea market when I was a kid. Always loved the artwork!
Yeah, I think Leanardi and Williamson where born to draw Spider-Man. Back when Spider-Man was wearing the black Venom suit I went to the San Diego Comic-Con and ran Into Mr. Leanardi at his table. Real nice gentleman. We talked a bit and then I asked him if he could sketch me a Spider-Man in the new suit. He said would be happy to. I tell you what, that sketch is buetifull! It looks like it could go into a comic panel. And guess what? He didn't ask a dime for it. SDCC wasn't the crap fest it is today. Artist seldom charged you for sketches. And they took the time to talk and get to know they're fans.
This book came out in the 90s but Rick Leonardi was more an 80s artist. Kelley Jones was not a typical 90s artist, and Wildman started in the 80s UK comics. So it’s not really “90s art”
That is my most wanted book EVER!! Including novels!! I grew up in the 90's, and never get to finish the series. More recently, when I found out about the trades, I found out as well that it was not finished. So I waited, and waited... And now it's here!!
Ooh! Superior is another Spider-Man blind spot for me, but thankfully I'll be able to close that up with the omni in July! I've only experienced him in the Spider-Verse/Geddon omni, and he looks like an... interesting character, lol.
@fishin4bass2002 I love how YOU were the one to bring up that character and are trying to start some drama. I personally prefer Miles over Miguel but no one was acting offended. Getting pre-mad is craaaaaazy
I love these long overviews, man. This is a series that I only minimally read as a kid when it was out, so I'm buying the Omnis mainly just based on hype. As it stands, I'm pretty excited. Despite the slightly thin paper (which doesn't look bad at all compared to some others), this is a beautiful book that I'll be glad to add to my collection. Pre-ordered and patiently waiting.
I've been waiting for this review for a long time, and it didn't disappoint. Thanks Omar. Mine is already preordered, and I plan to sequester myself in a room, and read this cover to cover. Gonna be sick.
For sure picking this up. Can't express how excited I am to finally have Miguel's saga collected. Only nitpick is that the DM variant ough to have been the Spider-Man 616 crossover fighting the Venoms or issue 42. Also have to add that the book has a nice design overall, like when Marvel goes the extra mile Besides that also glad to have vol 2 come out later this year. My only Spider-Man adjacent omnibus left out is Mayday! Spider-Girl deserves it as the longest female run Marvel title and with Spider-Verse coming out plus her anniversary being this year actually. Maybe she ages up in the Spider-Verse part 2 next year because Tom DeFalco and crew are fenomenal

Comics weren't the most "available" things for me when I was a kid living in Okinawa, Japan. I stopped reading comics outright sometime in the 90s (the last one I remember buying was The Phalanx Covenent "Part 1" with the foil cover and M on the side), and when I came back to them just a few years ago, trying to collect these trades was way too expensive. This omni feels like it "closes a loop" for me, or something, lol
Finally a collected edition where I still have the old floppies with me lol. It'll be fun comparing the print quality and colors and whatnot because I became OBSESSED with Spider-Man 2099 back when I first played Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions and I went to as many comic book shops as I could hunting down those back issues (because back then I was unaware of the existence of trades, in fact, I don't even think there were collected editions of any of the 2099 titles back in 2011) I wasn't able to find all of them but I did get Fall of the Hammer in its entirety lol.
Does anyone remember the animated series Spider-Man Unlimited? I've always wondered if they had originally planned for it to be a Spider-Man 2099 animated series but decided to go in a different direction because it would seem too close to Batman Beyond which was airing around the same time. Unlimited did borrow some stuff from 2099 but I've never actually heard this from anyone. Just my speculation but it would make sense. Kinda wish we actually did get a 2099 animated series over Unlimited!
Thanks Omar! I have the book on order and I can hardly wait to receive it. I was a big fan of this run. It made its debut when I first started reading comics again.

So will there be 3 omibus for spiderman 2099?
I have no idea of this character nor the writer or penciller. Is this any good story wise? Also, this omni or superior Spider-Man omnibus (if you only had money for one)?
was this the period where PD quit marvel for DC?
Is this sold out already?
As of now, yes.
@@NearMintCondition Thx Omar!
Any word on a Doom 2099 or a Spider-man 2099 Vol 3?
Spider-Man 2099's first villain is Venture, not Vantage.
I hope they release doom 2099 omni
Sorry for asking this but I have a question, is it a good investment to buy volumes or deluxe edition, or they are not worth anything and I should focus to buy issues?
I never suggest to anyone to buy collected editions as investment. When some of them go out print they do go up in value, but you never know. After all these are reprints.
@@NearMintCondition Ok, so even anniversary edition like 85th superman are not worth the investment. Thank you
Not for me. But some may think differently.
So if it gets cancelled near end, what the hell is in volume 2?! 😂
Vol. 2 is PAD’s 2014/2015 runs on character.
> collects Spider-Man 2099 (2014) #1-12; Spider-Man 2099 (2015) #1-25; Captain Marvel (1999) #27-30; Superior Spider-Man (2013) #17-19; Secret Wars 2099 (2015) #1-5; and material from 2099 Unlimited (1993) #1-3 and 8-10, Amazing Spider-Man (2014).
there’s almost enough for a Vol. 3
> collects Amazing Spider-Man (2018) #32-36; Conan 2099 #1; Doctor Doom 2099 #1; Fantastic Four 2099 #1; Ghost Rider 2099 #1; Punisher 2099 #1; Spider-Man 2099 (2019) #1; Spider-Man 2099: Dark Genesis #1-5; Spider-Man 2099: Exodus #1-5; Spider-Man 2099: Exodus Alpha, Omega; Symbiote Spider-Man 2099 #1-5; Venom 2099 #1; 2099 Alpha, Omega; material from Amazing Spider-Man #25.
@@codysummers6842 sounds like vol 2 will be another chunky one! I had no idea, I can’t wait!
Now that the obvious one is out of the way, Doom 2099 when?
Any other 2099 titles worth digging into?
Doom!
