For "being clueless" I think you did great. for the life of me, I can't find one of those Ryobi nailers, I can find the stapler only. Where did you get yours. ?

That's a very set up you built there. I covered the top of my leather table with those 1' x 2' stick-on floor tiles. Looks real nice and smooth.
