How to Get FREE Leather Crafting Tools!!!
In Celebration of hitting 60,000 subscribers, we're having a giveaway so that one lucky person can start doing some leather work of their own! A HUGE thanks to our sponsor and friends at Weaver Leather for making this possible.
We decided to make a leather tool pouch for our stitching chisels this week. We started with some natural vegetable tanned leather from the scrap bin - since it was natural veg tan, it had some beautiful variation and we thought it would be perfect for a utilitarian tool case. We sewed up the leather tool case by hand with waxed polyester threads, and finished the edges with gum trag and bee's wax. If you'd like to make your own leather tool case, you can always expand the design to hold other tools! It would be very cool to include space for an awl and maybe some stitching supplies, possibly a spool of thread.

I am a homebound disabled army vet...i spent the last 50 years living the life of artistic creativity. In 2006 nature took away my abilities...i fought it for 8 more years. By 2014 I had to walk away from a 7k sq ft art studio. I took as much equipment, materials, and tools that I could. Since then nature takes a little more away. I now seed bead and play with leather...i found a storage box full of scrap leather and a carry box of misc leather tools. The old rawhide mallet and a few basic tooling stems. My special adult son motivates me to keep active...he does not want to see his dad melt.. Watching your vids helps renew my memory and spark creative movement on sketches previously drawn.
    Regards
    Antony Andre' age 61
My son has me making new belt cases for his multi tools.
Makes me think about teaching the LeatherWorking merit badge in the 70s ...at boy Scout camp...plus basketry and art merit badges.i think I was about 14 those days...
If only society would wake up and use their creative skills ...life might be better...

For her birthday, my partner asked for a leather belt with a "Ranger Set" of silver buckle and silver keepers and, deciding to make it for her myself, I've gotten hooked on your videos. As The Fixx said, "One thing leads to another". I'm 74 and the few leatherworking tools that I did have have been lost in one of the many moving transits. The gift of YOUR toolset would mean a lot. In any case, your videos are wonderful and much appreciated. Thanks!

there are very expensive transportation fees as well as import taxes and there also some restrictions depending of laws of each of the more of 200 countries around the world. It is in fact very very difficult and/or expensive. I'm not in the US, but i understand perfectly and don't hold them accountable for it.

I work in law enforcement and already make holsters on a limited basis. I have made some for both corrections and patrol officers. Having the proper tools is essential to making quality products and having these tools would allow me to make great gear for great people who protect us day and night. Kydex holsters are the rage for all walks of forearms users now, but you can't beat the style and class of a well made leather holster rig.

I've always wanted to do leather working but the time and money requirements have always got in the way. Thanks for listening.

It’s not what “I” would make; it’s what I would teach my at-risk, alternative education students to make. I would take my tools and the gifted tools to the school and spark a love for creating leather goods by hand. My students don’t have money to spend and teaching them the leather working craft can enrich their lives beyond measure. I want them to know the pride of creating life’s essentials: a purse, a belt, a book bag, a key-ring, a watch band, a vest, etc...

I am thoroughly enjoying these videos. I haven't made leathercrafts in several decades, even though I started out as a child making wallets, belts, and purses. This brings back great memories of fun and relaxation! As a physician and surgeon, and now past my 5th decade of life, I'm ready to get back into the joy of leather crafting. I think the first things I am going to make when I get started again are matching belts for me and my wife. After that, I will be ready to tackle a new wallet for myself. 😃👍

The tools would be perfect for cutting out the leather pieces, setting stitching lines, punching the holes, and stitching the pieces together. The quality tools will be well used and care for so that they will last my life time of projects and more.

Out of all the leather made product videos on youtube this channel is by far the best and I love the care and accuracy/skill shown in each video when making a passport cover to a tool bag, they are simple but impeccable and make me want to try my own hand at leather crafting, and I think the first thing I’d make if and when I get the chance, would be a wallet, they’re something I’ve always wanted to try making but with great detail

I made myself a phone case / wallet. My Befriendee , the wee boy I mentor (take out for fun and expeditions )twice a month saw it and wants to make one. We have already made bird boxes, a go-kart and an archery set. He loves making things and is very good with his hands. We'd use the tools at my workshop and in time once he's learned the correct way to use them he'd get them as a present. You are not likely to choose me though as I'm in Scotland !

I'm just getting into leather work. I have been doing it since the new year. I am a bladesmith/ artisan black smith and i dabble in making armor sometimes when the customer wants it. I started working with leather to make sheaths for my blades. I have quickly fallen into the leather working rabbit hole. I find my self really enjoying leather work. At this point I use the scraps from making sheaths to make all kinds of other works. Getting these tools would greatly improve my tools for leather work. I'm using some simple home made tools now to get the job done. I feel these tools would greatly improve the quality of my works and allow me to take my skill to the next level.

I grew up watching my mother craft beautiful goods by hand just like you show in your videos. We didn’t have much in Africa or when we moved back to the states but my mum was a great craftswoman with many things. Book covers, cases for the tools she was using, wallets, and all kinds of other things. If I had the tools I would love to make a wallet for my dad since my mum can’t make him one anymore and he really needs a new one but isn’t the type of person who will buy something new and nice for himself. I would love to make all kinds of things other than that as well and see what kind of cool projects I could come up with. I love to make things for other people rather than buy them so I would probably start with a wallet for my dad first.

I love this channel. I have picked up so many skills to better my projects. Having the ability to hand sew better will make not only my project look more professional, but I also have a 4H club (for over 25 years) that make leather projects. Using an awl and stitching wheel is very frustrating at times and especially for kids. These 4H kids, over the years, have designed, cut out, and tooled projects that have won 4H State Fair Champions and top ribbon placers in open divisions. These additional tools will be used so helpful and used for years to come. My first project will be to hand stitch a leather belt I'm planning for a Christmas gift.

I have been making waxed canvas goods for a couple of years now. I have been selling them online and going to markets in my region. I love making physical, tangible things with my hands that people (or myself) can get years of good use out of. My day job is as a graphic designer (which I love!), but I can get tired of making digital art, so creating things with my hands has always been a nice way to express myself creatively. I have established a small brand that I am proud of, and I want to start making more leather goods. I have learned a small amount about making leather goods by hand, and I think I am ready to take the dive to start making more of them. I think these tools will take my leather working to the next level.
Love your content, love your work. I even have a few products of yours. Keep up the good works!

I'm just getting started with leatherwork and I give a lot of credit to your work as my motivation. I am newly married and wanting to make a gift for my new in-laws. My wife is from France and her parents don't speak English, nor do I speak French well enough to converse with them fully. I really want to connect with them somehow and I think some handmade gifts from myself would speak louder than any works I could ever speak to them would. I want to make my wife's mother a leather valet tray for her keys that she is always losing around the house and I would like to make her father a belt that he can wear proudly for the rest of his life and hopefully tell all of his good friends that his American son-in-law made it for him. Thanks for all of the great content! Au revoir!

cool looking kit, could definitely use that, mostly been doing thin leather, but just started branching out into axe head covers and carriers.

I'm a woodworker and just getting started with leatherwork. I'm making some British military campaign furniture (Roorkee chairs) and will be doing leatherwork for the seats, backs, and arm straps. I'm also making some campaign stools and they will have a leather seat. I would much rather saddle stitch the leather than put it together with copper rivets. These would be some great tools to get me started.

Love your channel & all your videos. Two reasons, mainly - you SHOW, instead of tell, how to complete a project from start to finish. That makes your instructions timeless & universal. And...your projects invite us into the satisfying ART of leather craft ! We see the beauty, precision & pride in a carefully crafted object.
If I were gifted with this beautiful set of leather working tools, I would use them to construct a new wallet. Mine (which had belonged to my late mother) was recently stolen, and I am currently keeping my cards & cash in a backpack.
Congratulations on reaching the 60K level ! Well deserved !
Best wishes for continued success. 😊

I have made a few things experimentally including tablet sleeves, beer caddies, keychains, and all sorts of tool cases and covers. I do this traditionally using a pony, stitch marker, and awl. My plan is to expand into reproducing historical pieces from the 1700s/1800s. A maul and some chisels would speed up my work greatly.

Nice work! I haven't done any leather work since high school shop class, back about 1963. I still have some of the things I made back then. They are still in surprisely good condition. Anyway I want to get back into leatherworking and make a holster and sheath. Got to see if I can find my old tools. May be in the attic somewhere. I know I never had any punches like those.

I am not sure what I would make, but have been searching for a creative outlet for years. For years I was a carpenter and creating great works of art kept my soul in balance, but with the economy crash in 07 I lost my business. I have worked in an office for the last ten years and I no longer have a space or tools to build furniture. When you're an artist and cannot express yourself with work you kinda die inside and just go through the motions of life. I have been looking at getting into leatherworking for some time as it seems to be a lot like wood working, but need some sort of motivation and assistance to get started. For now I will continue to watch your videos as they are very helpful after a long stressful day, one could say healing like meditation. Thank you for sharing your great talent with us and making such quality entertainment.

Everything that you make is so well made and pleasing to watch. It's what inspires me to go and learn this craft myself haha. Gosh, if I had those tools I would make a set of straps to go along with a backpack I'm finishing up.
