Im a human being and something is going on😢. I felt that.
💙
Made me tear up
Meh too all those symptoms I had full blown menopause now
Wow ❤ felt that.
Yes. It's not talked about. I had a female gyno tell me you just have to go thru it.
I'm 49 and still getting a period every single month combined with the hot flashes and fatigue of menopause. It's truly not fair to have to experience both worlds. 😢
Don't worry, that will end. Not going to lie, I had tremendous hot flashes for about 3 years. It was a nightmare but it's over now and I'm super happy about that. Best thing is no alcohol, no sugar. Lots and lots of water. Good luck sweetie. ❤
@@donnaa4668no sugar and alcohol. Got it and thank you.
I know the feeling at 49. I hate it.
I’m 48 and not having any of that. I feel like I’m going to be fertile till I’m 70 😂
How can u get your period and be in menopause?
I can't believe she's 51. Insane. She looks 35
That Black don’t crack!💁🏽♀️
😮no way she's that old. I now believe in witches 😅😂 she's beautiful
It’s the melanin babe!!
@@marj6377I've seen black that cracked like dry dirt in the summer. She obviously takes care of herself.
I believe it. Im 35 and ppl say i look like a kid
My goodness this woman is beautiful😊 she's like ageless
She is absolutely stunning !!! I had no idea she was in her 40’s 😮😮😮
Too bad Same can’t be said for Drew
@@Twiggs2562she’s in her 50s!
@@travietoogood6760 whaaaat ?????? NO WAY !!!! Oh my word …she’s absolutely stunning
@@irenemitalas2692 well that is just nasty ! Why would you say something like that ? She’s gorgeous and she , unlike most of nipped and tucked Hollyweird , is aging gracefully.
I’m premenopausal. I got diagnosed at 29. I was so devastated. Not to mention I was gaslit by my doctors because technically what I have is very rare. It’s important that we listen to ourselves, and be our own advocate!
Hi can you tell us how you find out? Did you have symptoms?
I think I’m going through this and I’m 29 and have no access to knowing how early this can start. I’m on Nexplanon and it 100% got rid of my period(which my body and wallet thanks the stars for) but I do feel like I am rapidly aging. I need help
@@JustTrying2Exist this is going to sound super lame, but I got one of those modern fertility test and it showed how low my FSH and how high my AMH was. The results were extremely abnormal for my age. The test recommended that I’d follow up with a doctor. My doctor didn’t believe me, and I had to come back and tell him about my hot flashes. I didn’t know what hot flashes really were but I was having them. I just thought getting hot and sweaty at night was normal 😂 anyway I beg the doctor to test me again for my thyroid, he didn’t test for that, but he tested for one last thing which in his eyes was extremely unlikely. Yet it was what I had. So you can always start there! They sometimes run promo deals for modern fertility test on certain podcasts. They claim to have extreme accuracy and I can attest to that, in the worst way, but how would I have known otherwise?
@@JustTrying2Exist keep in mind if you have a HSA (Health care savings account) of FHSA (flexible healthcare savings account) you can use those funds to pay for your modern fertility test 😉
After seeing this I’m really wondering if this is what’s going on with me. 32 now and have been going through this from about 29. I went to doctors, psychologist, therapy, gynecologist. All said I was fine. I started to convince myself it’s PMDD. How can they tell? Is there a test?
Can we talk about how she looks this phenomenally amazing at 50 😍🙌🏿
51! yes she looks incredible
Whhaaaaat?! 51?!!!!
Wtf 50? I think I am 50 not her😂😂😂
Absolutely
MONEY, what a dumb question 🙄
Being a woman can be devastating. Our bodies change so drastically out of nowhere often, and we have to figure it out while continuing to be productive in many people lives.
❤
💯 💯 💯
so very well put. poignant and to the point. being a female in this era has become needlessly complicated AND
frustrating.
FACTS!
🎯🎯🎯
We need to talk more as women - educate ourselves, share & learn
I do constantly. Just passed menopause. Am 51....people look at me like I am.nuts....doesnt stop me 😊.
It’s because as women we don’t want to age and menopause puts us unfortunately into the invisible category but we’re not old and we’re not invisible
Idc about aging. I’m trying to figure out why I didn’t even know this was a thing. I assume it was LONGGGGGG menopause that won’t end. My doctor didn’t even say anything. Never heard this term before in my life! I’m days from 50
We have to educate ourselves because the medical assistant isn't helping us women going through the most difficult part of our lives. If anyone needs help instead of HRT try the women's kit from bioinnovations❤
It’s so true, I’m 57 and menopause since 50 and still going through it. No one tells you about the hair loss and gain in other areas. Not fun
But they do. Where Im from (Southern Europe) is common knowledge.
@@greyLeicester I'm in Canada and it's just not talked about here until you're in it. I tell my daughter so she'll know. My mom suffered in silence
OMG never heard about the hair loss. God bless you.
I'm 54 years old now but became post menopausal as of last year. I started perimenopause about 3 months before age 51 and went through it only 3 years with mostly hot flashes and no other symptoms. I have been truly blessed!
Totally agree!!!!!! Weight gain out of nowhere, UTIs for the first time, could go on and on. I am 59. When does this end?
Joint pain has been my most unexpected peri menopause symptom. I never heard anyone mention it until I began looking into it. We should be more open about it.
Omg im experiencing joint pain for the last 2 years ...im 46 and I don't understand why im always so fatigued and have muscle and joint pain. I thought perhaps I had fybromyalgia
@@MsCubanmex I never knew , but when looking specifically for joint pain during menopause, it’s quite common.
My doc keeps saying I'm not there yet but I keep having these symptoms 2 periods acting upset one min happy next terrible night sweats a month ago I was three months pregnant not knowing @45 yrs old hair shedding like chemo patient.. I dont know what to do im literally in tears after all this 🙏😪
@@kenishah.784Get another Doctor, sometimes they aren’t concerned about you as an individual❤
Oh I can truly relate to joint pain. I felt like I was carrying a giant stone all over body. I was miserable during menopause.
The billy goat gruff is a norm for most of us waay before menopause. Facial hair is a beast!
Yup! I'll wake up with a tiny little mustache most days 😂
Agreed!!!
Yes! And women should talk about it, because when I became a teen and started having this issue, I was embarrassed, ashamed, and felt like a freak. It would have relieved a lot of anguish if as a girl I had known it was normal and that most women deal with it.
3 Laser removal different packages, lip and chin - still sporting the BGG. Even with hormone balancing.
On my chin hair grow over night. On my head my hair has gotten so thin. Some thing go on with menopause
Oh my goodness! 51 and she looks just like she did as a teen!
It’s called Botox 🙄
@@kelbell275 then it’s very well done Botox. I’ve never had it myself, but it would never make me look this young and fresh faced.
@@kelbell275 That's not Botox- that's good skin care. How can I tell? The moment of her eyebrows. I mean she was in her 30s during the late 90s/early 2000s and playing a teenager. She just looks young and has taken care of herself.
Couldn't agree with you more! Amazing!
@clairhouston4828 Couldn't agree with you more! Amazing!
This needs to be a louder conversation! 👏
Absolutely!!!
Gabby and Drew thanks for the candid conversations about menopause.
💯💯💯💯💯💯❤️
SUPER important that the older women tell the younger ones about perimenopause and menopause. And the importance of tracking your cycles and periods!
The boomers and those who came before them deemed topics like puberty, sexuality, and the change of life as unladylike to discuss. I hope younger generations break this taboo!
I started tracking thru my Apple Watch.
I've tried to tell younger ladies and some my age and they just brush it off. It affects everything in your life! I struggled starting in my 30's and not knowing what was happening. When a female Dr who wasn't my Dr told me what was happening, I was shocked!
Thanks for bringing this up. So many women have symptoms and their Doctors down play the symptoms. Menopause is a serious thing and a lot of women get very ill from it.
My personal experience of it was I was on the verge of having a heart attack or stroke.
My hormones were off and thyroid was working at all. My BP was high 160/110 and my cholesterol levels were over 300. Hair Loss was so intense. Weight went from 140 to 200 in a matter of 6 months
Ladies please take this matter seriously. Not all women go through it to this extreme. But get a well Women’s Health check to check your hormones levels and thyroid levels and cholesterol, A1c, insulin and your vitamins levels checked.
A lot of your issues is diet so change your lifestyle.
Thank you for sharing. My mom left when I was a young girl & I don't have sisters/brothers so nobody to talk to about things like this.❤️
I feel this. Even as a medical professional, I was not prepared at all for it. Thank god I’m going through it later in life than many though. I’m in my early 50s.
I'm 55 and I am menopause 1yr now. I've never had pms or anything so this is very difficult. At times I feel like I'm going out of my mind. I have panic attacks sweats and aches it's very difficult. Women have to deal with a lot. ❤❤❤❤ 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Now that PMS is all balled up into this. Enjoy and welcome to the pms club years after LOL
Ageless timeless natural beauty❤
I've always loved and admired Gabrielle Union. She is an honest and classy lady. ❤
If theyre going to start a conversation they need to REALLY talk about what it feels like to go through menopause.
Like eg; Hot flushes, night sweats, day sweats, heart palpitations, anxiety, panic attacks, loss of taste, bugs crawling under the skin, insomnia, intrusive thoughts of suicide, a "deadness" inside, lack of true joy anynore no matter what you do, severe fatigue, vertigo, muscle aches and weakness, neasea, headaches, crying spells, past trauma coming up, feeling "unloved", loss of mitivation, feeling disgusted by touch of any kind, and the list goes on but you get the picture
😢😢😢facts
You literally just described exactly how I've been feeling for over a year now...!! I've known it was perimenopause I'm dealing with but haven't been able to say exactly what all is happening to me....!! You described exactly what's happening to me and I can't thank you enough... Again thank you so very much....!!
Yesssss! No one talks about what you go thru during peri menopause I literally wanted to die at 47. I’m 48 now still getting a period but it keeps changing days. It stopped for like 3 or 4 years because of birth control then came back normal……but it keeps changing days it’s driving me crazy already. I got checked for peri menopause in my mid thirties but the doctor said no. I’ve been having hot flashes since then. I agree it’s terrible. I’m not having sex for the past 3 years and I don’t have the urge either. It’s like I can’t stand ppl at this point I’m severely introverted and have no desire to do anything but sleep. I barely wanna eat. I’m down to eating once a day! I just really feel like an alien. My hair fell out real bad and won’t grow back……I could go on and on!
Wtf😮😮 I'm 37 and I never knew all this go on during pre menopause.
Thanks for Sharing, lady siblings tells me nothing.
She’s so stunning , I know ppl give her hell but her beauty has been undeniable since she arrived on the scene
They give her hell because she’s not a nice person but she’s definitely still beautiful.
💯 not just menopause but also before a cycle starts or during. Our body chemistry changes and it can be so frustrating!
I started HRT
No one that I know was prepared for perimenopause. It's crazy! I wish it was discussed more.
I'm going through this now....they say im perimenopausal and I'm in Cleveland Ohio.... We just had a snow storm Tuesday 11/28..... I had the AC on 60 in my house and was still sweating ....im only 48 and no one warned me about this 😢😢😢😢
I'm 37 and got the ac on still in NY I feel you
Hi fellow Clevelander. 💞✨
I ran 64 degrees for 5 yrs straight. Nothing helped. It felt like I was inan oven and couldn't get out. Not typical hot flashes. These were so bad thT your body temp actually went up.
I went in to menopause at age 44 but thankfully my symptoms were very mild compared to others
Say what you want about her, Gabrielle is a STUNNINGLY beautiful woman and she does not age. Phenomenal gene pool!
I'm 37. Started menstruation at 10 years old. I've heard there is a link between early menstruation and early peri-menopause. Unfortunately I have no women in my family to ask. My mom had a full hysterectomy at 35 due to uterine fibroids, my aunts and sister have reproductive issues. I'm the only one with regualar cycles and ovulation. I first suspected something when my periods started getting wacky.
I'm 37, monthly started at 11, I stg I kept saying I have premenopause but not taking it serious cuz 1. scared 2. ppl kept telling me I'm too young.(still do) Now 2-3yrs later I made an appt strictly to start the process to find out & take my health serious cause the sweating, monthly etc gets worse each month but the appt is so far out.🙃🤦🏽♀️
She is so beautiful😍 ❤
I felt the same way, that they never talked about it, but best believe I tell my daughter what I am experiencing in menopause❤😊😅
Gabrielle needs to have her own talk show, so stunning!
I would watch!
Gawd no. That woman is annoying AF
I love Gabriel, met her in person, and she is such a beautiful soul.❤
This is a topic that needs more conversation. I went back to Europe after living in the US for over 26 years & I found more help there as I knew some major changes was going on & sadly I got no help. I know that covid is a contributing factor why help was not so available. I thank you ladies for putting this conversation out here Blessed LOVE ❤️
AS WOMEN (AND MEN) WE HAVE TO BE OUR OWN ADVOCATES!! I ALWAYS DO RESEARCH OF MY SYMPTOMS BEFORE GOING TO MY OB/GYN. WRITE DOWN YOUR FEELINGS (MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY) AND LET YOUR OB/GYN KNOW EXACTLY WHAT'S GOING ON. TOOK ALMOST 10 YEARS AND GOING TO 6 DIFFERENT OB/GYNs TO FIGURE OUT THAT I HAD ENDOMETRIOSIS!! SO SAD BECAUSE HUBBY AND I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO HAVE KIDS SINCE 2007!! IF YOUR OB/GYN ISN'T LISTENING TO YOU, DON'T HESITATE TO FIND ONE THAT DOES!! PRAYING FOR ALL MY SISTERS HEALTH ❤
Its devestating that we go through this! I feel your pain and I taught my daughter (now a RN) how to fight and advocate so someday her daughters, granddaughters and so on never feel our pain! Took me 10yrs and 16 doctors to get help. Even though I could show doctors if I stretched or move certain ways I was literally tearing from inside, as I’m sure many can relate to that have had endometriosis that attached where it shouldn’t. . 2nd to last doctor I saw, flat out told me i was a drug seeker. He followed that with "I'll put you on table and do surgery on you, you’ll bleed out (I have a blood disorder) and die, is it worth it just to get a few pain meds?" His PA who had called him in due to feeling some abnormal things, was In shock, she called her dad, a Obgyn 1 month from retirement, begging him to help me. I saw him that day, had exploritory surgery 2 days later, were he found I had endometreosis, andomiosis and 6 major hernia's. I had organs that were shutting down becaused endo had wrapped around so tight it caused portions to die off. They fixed what they could, then woke me up to tell me I needed a hysterectomy. (My husband at the time refused to sign off on it. We'd had lost 12 fetuses between 13-22 weeks and he said he couldnt be the one to take chances of another child from 2% to 0%). Still makes me angey so many dismissed the symptoms as a "dramatic woman" or "drugseeker". They cost me years of pain and permanent damage to some organs. However, I’m so thankful for the PA that saw my pain, felt something was really wrong and advocated for me like I was her flesh and blood. I owe her so much.
As people that have had endometriosis, please I would like to genuinely know what your symptoms were?
I'm happy to hear someone talk about this because people do act like you're just crazy or that it's not real. The things we go through as women is so unfair. Brain fog, sleep pattern changes, fupa, mood swings, the beard... The list goes on and on.
I can't stand the attitude of women who don't have any symptoms during menopause and they put down women who do. As if to say they work harder or something.
OMG me too! My mother is just like that & it triggers me inside, whenever I hear her say: "I wouldn't know, I didnt have any of those issues." As if she just slid thru that time & was perfect? No, she was making everyone's else's life hell, but that's her usually, so she didn't notice any difference I guess, BUT I DEF DID! She acted bitchy all the time, & everyone was always jumping to her tune, so much, she didn't realize it, what? 😒
To me they lying 😂😂
@@PennyProud426i am in menopause. Had full hystorectomy at 47. Do not have any crazy symptoms neither did my mother. Not everyone has symptoms. I was actually looking for them because of all the stuff on the internet. Not everyone is the same. For the most part my life improved because the fibroids I had had before were a real pain in the ass. To be honest if I didnt know i was kn menopause I would not be aware of feeling any different besides not having heavy periods and exhausting anemia
I truly feel your pain. I'm in full menopause now and when I sweat, you I hear statements or sneakers like, you can't be that hot. I'm learning to ignore them and reading and understanding things for myself. I remember my grandmother really suffered. I would just look at her. Now, I understand. She suffered in silence.
Perimenopause is freaking kicking my ass. First it started in my early 40’s with heavy periods lasting a month having to wear black all the time & a black jacket or sweater around my waist, terrified that it would soak thru my clothes while at work or out in public. I was literally going to the bathroom every hour - blowing right thru the economy sized products from Costco; super plus tampons & pads. The severe cramping & my lort, the insane blood clots like I was having contractions - I became anemic, fatigued & weak (sorry tmi). I had to see my PCP who was pimping me out to all kinds of specialists. I got ablation done & it was the best thing ever until the hot & cold flashes came thru following the procedure. Then the weight gain, change in metabolism and also changes in skin texture. the major thinning out & loss of hair, the mood swings, being so emotional, often crying. The brain fog, memory loss, insomnia, depression, anxiety, back pain & headaches. I’ve always been so even keeled and once I hit my 40’s it’s like my body completely betrayed me. Now I’m on all kinds of meds, seeing all kinds of specialists; a dermatologist, an endocrinologist, a gynecologist, a psychotherapist, a psychiatrist, a gastroenterologist a dietitian/nutritionist, a physical therapist, a neurologist and ENT. No one could pinpoint what was wrong. I haven’t felt like myself & felt like I was growing crazy. I gave up & started seeing an acupuncturist but all of the self care is way too expensive. No one prepares you for all this, it’s been traumatic.
Thank you for this. This has cleared up a lot of what’s going on with me. You saved me a few DR visits and for this I thank you ❤
Man living hell..feels liking u dieing 😢

I have been experiencing perimenopause and menopause symptoms since I was in my late 20s/early 30s. Random hot flashes and night sweats were the beginning. Now that I am 47, I have the joint pain, increased mood swings, crying fits, my seggs drive fluctuates wildly, the hot flashes and night sweats have increased, along with other things that I had no idea were associated with Perimenopause. I love her. She is just so human. 💯💖💖💃🥰
Her voice is sooooo lovely too
Yes girl!! Great to speak out
This subject was not spoken before my generation. I am Gen z. I am going through a ton of symptoms (there is someone who lists them in her comment....Thank you who knew i was missing some of them). It's not fun and fair. We, as a female community of the birthing kind, need to share our information. Warn if something is not healthy to do as well as what is working. At the loss of the estrogen hormone, we lose so much. I had no idea our hearing changes, that its loss affects our bones. Im looking to take hormone replacement to gain some control of the me I used to be. If there is a tip I'd like to share, sugar is the worst for menopause. Cutting it helps with the sweats a bit, especially if you don't snack before bed. A good CBD oil helps with the emotional roller-coaster. I keep a water mister on my nightstand for when the nightflash begins. I just mist my face, my neck and upper chest. It helps me.
Try rhodiola in the morning and ashwagandha at night. They gave me relief
I’m going thru it and think I have been for a few years now . I’m 43 but when I would tell people some years back about my night sweats they would say you’re too young . Like how your body is gonna do what it wants when it wants
Right, I wasn’t informed either and she’s spot on with how you feeling and the symptoms
Yep , yes very beautiful this Gabrielle. Always was.
Me too at 35..hot flashes but my menopause came full end at 54
I’m straight up dealing with it right now and it’s like feeling like molten lava in my veins and then nothing working right ugh 😑

Now we know why people say to do that. Its not just to get your goat 🐐,
Its before you become the old goat.😂😂
I love how sincere she is
She is gorgeous
im going through something now and my mom and family acting like im crazy 😜
I think I am in peri-menopause. I have a doctors appointment coming up soon, which will hopefully confirm this (or help me figure if something else is going on! ) It is strange!
It's okay. Menopause.
Thank you. I'm going through the same thing and felt so alone.
I’ve been feeling this for a few years and just recently started realizing I’m perimenopause and I’m so glad I’ve really struggled with some of the symptoms
Was she just 37 when it started?
Peri & menopause will give any and all kinds of symptoms. The best thing for most is estrogen
They don't talk about it, and we're going through it. Share mommy's, aunties n yall!!! ❤️
She’s beautiful!
Is she the one that transitioned her son and has a NBA player husband?

I have a history of anxiety and I turned 37 this year and it's been the worst it's been in 10 years for seemingly no reason. I asked my mum and she's like 🤷🏻♀️ I don't know because it didn't exist for me in my day. I also haven't had children so I think statistically it might hit me sooner because of that.
Perimenopause was the most difficult thing I went through. It took me over 2 years to figure it out and another year to get a hysterectomy. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE! Good luck ladies. Tell ur doc ASAP if ur mood swings or periods change! I literally left the hospital feeling better than I had felt in years, and I was recovering from surgery!
35 and a half and felt great! 36 to 37 gained 30lbs terrible hot flashes, hair is thinning after having super thick hair etc I felt this so much😢 still trying to balance everything
Early menopause...its not talked about.
It’s a normal part of aging.
Exactly. It's still for some reason a difficult subject to talk about for some people tho. For some reason. Everyone has to look a curtain way, be a curtain way and as soon as you show your actually human no one wants anything to do with you. Bc your being "too much".
I’m so grateful to be the same age as Drew because she’s asking all the questions & I don’t need to now 👌
Hallelujah 🙌🏽 it's a part of our journey and we need to talk about it. I talk to my GFs all the time now.
Her hair is almost balling, along the edges, even with the weave
One of the most beautiful ❤
The hair loss needs to be discussed WAY more. I had only ever heard about hot flashes and high emotions. I thought my thinning and shedding was product-related. I drove myself nuts trying to pinpoint what product was causing the issue. It was the hormone shift of perimenopause.
Your mother's experience is not necessarily going to be your experience. Also, these changes can start well before you see changes in the frequency and/or volume of your period.
I wasn’t having periods and then out of nowhere they came back each month. I didn’t have one for November so I’m worried again!! 😮😮
