He’s doing more for the special needs community by normalizing them and highlighting the funny. The more you try and protect and keep safe the less people feel comfortable engaging with them. It’s the same for every group of people. Remove the barriers and uncover the humanity and now more people can relate or appreciate the nuances.

Agreed. He’s treats them like they are humans just like everyone else. There was nothing hateful about what he said and if people were able to see the entire clip he actually admires the fact that they’re actually happier than most people he knows.
That is why the LGBTQLEDTV community is destroying their own, they try and cancel anyone making fun of them.
100% brother just listen to their podcast. They make fun of EVERYBODY, kind of like south park. Never truly disparaging. This is what we need.

I’m not proud for admitting this - but I gave a random dude with Down syndrome the John cena “you can’t see me” and without missing a beat , he shot it right back…but he wasn’t smiling, he was super serious. It kinda freaked me out. 😂

Yeah, no idea what adderrall junkie edited this compilation, but there were so many jump cuts and random bits that the jokes didn't really have any time to land, and it completely lost all Shane's timing.

correct. you should never consume comedy like this. pacing/beats/build are the art, not just getting to punchlines. this ruins everything and is horrible.
I get psyched when I find a comedian that is funny no matter what they are doing. Some comedians are funny sometimes, or not at all. I only know of a few that are this good. I found this all very natural and entertaining. I've heard him mentioned before, but have never checked him out until now. Thanks for this video. He's up there with Bill Burr for me, just after seeing this clip. I'll have to check out more.

This was a little tough because in stand up timing is everything and Shane even sped it up on his second special and it wasn’t better imo. Comics like Norm, Patrice o Neal, and Louie CK ( who shane is a reflection of) are great with pace and pauses. Give it a goog.

Shane has been around for a while and should have been bigger sooner but he was a victim of cancel culture the first day of his big break. They announced that he was joining SNL and then someone found an old clip of him making an Asian accent and they went crazy on him. He got SNL got attacked and later got let go all in one day. Thankfully he had such a following and did so well despite being cancelled that they asked him to host SNL.
That last joke made me think what would happen if there were no rules of engagement

You guys are a great audience for him. And don't feel guilty. I don't think the guy has a mean bone in his body. He's just calling them like he sees them and that's funny as hell.
You need to react the early comedy of Andrew Schultz, those which blew him up. He has a special called Views Of The CIS which has 10min videos of elite raw New York stand up comedy.
Check the one called Transgenders, its a great introduction to the special.

Being racist is not a yes or no thing, it's conditional. It's such a brilliant concept. And it's SO true.
The thing about his special needs jokes is that they come entirely from a place of love. He's telling jokes about what he loves about them in his time doing work with them and with his family.
I think you two hit on it at the end, these reaction channels are helping to get more awareness out there. I knew nothing about Gillis or Bill Burr until about a year ago. I had no idea when I was watching The Mandalorian awhile back and Breaking Bad, that Burr was in both of those, didn't know who he was.
I grew up with Eddie Murphy back in the 80's and I knew Chapelle from Robin Hood Men In Tights and watching Dave's career blossom has been great, but without these reaction channels, some of these comedians, I would have never known about.

Nah the way they do it is good, they only pause if they laughing too hard. Then he skips it back 10 seconds so the joke isnt ruined. Blame the original creator of the video they are REACTING TO for the editing of the clips.
