You are so sweet and bubbly, you make a crafty granny smile everytime. 🥰
Aww thank you!!
Thst was the easiest tape job I've seen in my life!! As always, you rock 🎸 girl!! New hobby for the winter. Thsnks ladybugs 🐞
Oh I need to unbox my brand new epson that I've had since December and get it going. Your tutorial is so helpful.
Great tutorial. My husband just ordered all the stuff i need to start these tumblers i am so excited can’t wait !!!!
Thank you! I've been so nervous to try. You made it look so easy.
I’m still learning this process but it’s so easy and cool once they are completed 🥰
OMG! I just bit the bullet and ordered a small sublimation setup one day last week, and it should all be here Monday. Now, I get to learn along with you. I’m so excited! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Aww yay !! It is sooooooo much fun
Where did you order sublimation setup
Your directions are spot on. They were great. Thanks for you me expertise. I’ve been trying to learn these since for 2 yrs.
It looks like it’s easy and fun. It’s beautiful!!!❤️❤️
Thank you !!💜
I followed along with your video and did exactly as you did. My first tumbler ever turned out amazing!! Thank you for sharing
That’s great!! Thank you 💜
I followed your tutorial and mine turned out great! Thank you so much
That’s awesome!!
Hi Courtney. Tips to align your prints on the cutter. Try putting the wider side of the paper (the print that you want to preserve) on the wider side of the cutter. Basically, use the cutter board as your support to align your paper so that the page doesn't slip away from you. Also, notice the bigger dot on the orange knob/guide. That dot is where the center is, where the blade sits, and it shows you exactly where the cut is going to happen.
Thank you for the video - it is very informative :)
Thank you so much for the tip!!💜💜
Great job!! Love your designs!! Thank you for all the tips.
🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸
You’re welcome 💜
Great job and I like your tape marker for turning! So smart! I love sublimation! And I use Cosmos inks too. If you can...get an oven thermometer because countertop ovens are notorious for inaccurate temps and try shrink wrap; your hands will thank you! And make sure that it says shrink wrap for sublimation 😁 I'm excited for you and can't wait to see more!
Ahh thank you so much !! I’m excited to learn all about it
@@CourtneysCustoms just a thought...if you get a chance, maybe you already have 😊, ck out Liberty Graphic Designs, he has really good videos on sublimation.
I literally wad about to suggest Liberty Designs also..I just watched him and for this beginner I loved his tips.
I love it !!! I tried to hit the like button and it showed that I hit the dislike button so disregard that if it showed that I disliked it . I think it’s amazing and I want to try to make one. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤️
I love it! I've been sublimating for 3 years now. I bought all the stuff to sublimate tumblers back in October but have been to intimidated. You made it look so easy! I'm finally gonna try it out!
Oh yay that’s great thank you !!💜
Hello there, do you need special cup to do sublimination? If so, where can I buy some ?
@@JoseAVeloz-ef8cq they have sets on Amazon.
I did my first last night on shirts. It’s super easy. I too waited almost a year before trying
I just love your creativity I can't wait to try this out!!
Nice video. I fix my sublimation tumblers by placing them back in the oven for bout 4 hrs. Then resub it with a darker design. So it can definitely be done.
I am so excited I found this video.i have been trying to find the right video for me
Great video!!! Thank you for sharing your process.
First video. Addicted. Subscribed. Your so thorough and honest so much informarion. Thank you
Aww thank you!!
You can strip it by baking at 400 for 45 min and the ink will dissipate and then you can re-sub with a dark sub print.
Whaaaaaat !? Lifesaver thank you so much !!
Whattttttt?! Do you wrap it with tape and everything to get the ink off?
Awww thanks for the mention Courtney!!!!!! Great job on the sublimation!
Just a helpful tip when cutting with the paper cutter. Put the paper in on the other side! Then you have better control of it. I found that out on accident lol
Wow that makes a lot of sense and now I’m
embarrassed😂😂 haha thanks girl !!
@@CourtneysCustoms I found it out on total accident!! Then my husband was like uhhh yeah I thought you knew!!
You said "I'm going to make a thousand of these, actually only like 10 because that's all I have left!" I laughed so hard at that!!
Great tutorial, I watch all I can. What made you go with painters tape vs. shrink wrap. Keep the video’s coming, thanks for all you do!
@@Andrew-ol4hf everywhere I’ve seen shrink wrap it just seems so pricey for the small amount that you get. I do want to try it though !!
@@CourtneysCustoms I’ve been doing sublimation for a while now, and still learning. Like the tumblers, if you shop around you can get the white shrink wrap sleeves for a decent price. I would recommend the white vs. clear (that’s my preference) but each to their own, it is addictive and the designs are endless. Have fun and again thank you!
My hubby is ordering me my printer in the next couple weeks. We have to wait till after our son is born. But I've been watching so many sublimation videos for a few weeks now and can't wait!!! Also look into shrink wrap to wrap your tumblers I stead of tape. I've heard it works better.
Aww yay you will love it !! I love watching sublimation videos too. I’m buying shrink wrap now lol
@@CourtneysCustoms there is a group on Facebook that is dedicated to sublimation. Not sure if you're a part of it but it's called Sublimation Cove: hosted by Cosmos ink...you should check it out. They are all very helpful in there.
@@uhleeshuh188 oh awesome thanks so much !!
@@CourtneysCustoms you're welcome
wow so cool! That'll make it easy to put photo's on cups!!
Great video! Thank you for sharing! The cup turned out beautiful! 🥰
Thank you so much !!💜
@@CourtneysCustoms and I literally just spent a stupid amount of $$$ on sub tumblers, a printer, and oven 🤦🏼♀️
@@KristisCustomCreations I spent a good bit too. It hurt lol
@@CourtneysCustoms no kidding! Lol! It's totally worth it though... Really enjoyed your video. Have a great weekend!
@@KristisCustomCreations you too💜
Can't wait to do these tumbler
loved this video thank you so much for sharing!
I ended up getting a Sawgrass printer bc I couldn’t find the epson anywhere instock... (bought it in March) I also have a mug press and I’m addicted to sublimation!! Great video!!
Oh wow I’ve heard a lot of good about the sawgrass printers!! I love sublimation too!! And thank you💜
Actually, you should pull the paper and image off as soon as you can handle the cup- get a heat mitt - otherwise, the image will continue to cook onto the tumbler and may burn, especially dark colors
How long and at what temp
Love the idea to use painters tape. Ty
This is so cool. I'm going to have to buy all this stuff now Courtney LOL
Lol you’ll love it !!
You should wipe the tumbler with 91% alcohol before you add your paper wrap. The alcohol will ensure no oils remain on the cup, which could cause the color not to sub correctly in areas.
OMG I LOVE THIS ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you !!
Loved this.
Thanks !!
Awesome! Thank you!
A-Sub works on most surfaces good choice
Get some cup sleeves- you heat with a heat gun and they shrink over the tumbler and take the air out and makes a very tight fit- then put in your oven. Consider getting a oven temp thermometer as they all vary and with subbing you really need to ensure the temps aren’t too high or they’ll burn
I was never impressed with the heat shrink then when I tried it I have never sublimated a tumbler without it since
What temp should it be at. And how long
I would love to do these but I can't afford the stuff so I'll have to just wait but thanks for showing us how make them. I love watching your videos they have given me many ideas on tumblers. The only thing is I haven't figured out how's everyone is pricing there tumblers like the 20 oz and 30 oz skinny straights after they finish them.
You’re welcome!! Prices vary so much I think based on location. I live in a very small town, so my prices are probably much lower than someone who lives in a large city
I am ready to start! I read sublimation gives off gasses so it should be done in a well ventilated area or outside.
I do mine in my house. Epoxy gives off pretty bad fumes though
Use shrink wrap on your cup before putting in the oven and it will squeeze the paper very tight, you will love the results 💕
I’ve got some ordered 😊
Instead of the painters tape?
@elizabeth Dye... Would that be in place of our along with the painters tape?
I love doing sublimation, it's so much easier and faster than other methods. I'm starting to do epoxy but so far I've been watching all your videos.
It’s so much fun!! Thank you for the support 💜
Hey Courtney I’m just starting out in the Tumbler world & I’m so thankful that I have found you and your channel.. I have almost watched all of your videos.. But I was wondering if you could make a video about different things that we can do to fix mistakes or even sublimation mistakes so the cup isn’t a total waste of time and money.. I desperately need some suggestions on different ways to fix mistakes be it seams being left on the cup or even glittering mistakes, paint or epoxy mistakes.. I’m just worried about wasting so much time and money & not being able to sell anything.. I do enjoy making tumblers & want to start selling them but I also still make a lot of small mistakes often.. PLEASE Help me if you can.. Thanks again Courtney for everything you do for this community..
Thank you for being here! I will definitely make something like this
I only use blue take around bottom and top and middle tape line. Have no issues doing so.
You need to invest in the Heat Nation Mug Press with the tumbler heat sleeve. You can make these on 365 degrees for 70 seconds, rotate for a full impression and press for another 70 seconds. Then you are done. Super simple instead of the convection oven and not as dangerous.
Hi I absolutely love your tutorials. I’m not that great at knowing how to make a design/wrap. Do you have a tutorial or can you make a tutorial from downloading the design to printing it? Thank You in advance.
I hope u were able to find out how to download designs and print them… they sure want followers but don’t answer questions 🤦🏻♀️
Thank you for this video
You’re welcome 💜
when cutting off the white edges of your paper cut the short sides off first so you can see where you lining up your long sides
Hey! New to sublimation and i cant wait to get started! I was told that when making tumblers, shirts, etc, that sometimes there is a gas smell? And i was wondering if you had any tips on how to deal with that?
Awesome! Ty
I love it,
Did you ever used these PYD Life Sublimation Shrink Wrap Sleeve White Bags 10 x 5 Inch for Print by Oven,50 PCS,Sublimation . Did ever used a normal oven?
Is the tape necessary if we have a mug attachment for our heat press?
I need a bigger bank acct!! Can u use the sublimation printer as a regular printer for water slides ? Is it an inkjet? Thank u I so enjoy your videos and your positive happy personality! ❤️
Lol it took me a while to save up to get everything I needed !! And this is sublimation ink so I still kept my old printer with normal ink jet ink to make water slides. So technically since I converted this printer, it’s now a sublimation printer
I found mine on Amazon thanks for the share
Question on washing - do you if these are safe in the dishwasher or should it be hand washed only? Awesome video by the way ☺️
So cool, what a fun process. I don't do tumblers because all the layers of epoxy give me anxiety but I want to start one of these days. This might be a better option for me. 🤗
These would be perfect for you then !! I already love making them more than epoxy tumblers lol
@@CourtneysCustoms awesome, thank you 🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗
Beautiful 😍
Thank you 💜
The heat shrink wraps are soooooo much easier than the painters tape. I even found clear so I can see the paper to make sure the transfer is complete.
Where do you buy this
@@marieswartz5596 Amazon
you can heat them up to fade the ones that are not perfect. 450 degrees for 5 minutes. not all colors will disappear but you can sub with it again with darker coolors
Hi Courtney
When you do the size for the tumblr what programs do you use ? Cause I use cricut design space but it won’t let me print it says image is too large. Thank you so much and your tumblers a beautiful.
Love this!! Can you put like more than one tumbler in the oven at the same time?
Yes! My oven is just very small lol
Your cups look fabulous! I did my first one and it’s faded. Can you help me with this? I can’t seem to figure it out. Thank yo
I'm just starting out and love your video.. Question im not using a oven i have a press would the painters tape work using the press or just tape it good with the heat tape? Thanks!!!
I recently got a press and I switched from tape to the shrink wraps!
If you are using a Tumbler Heat Press should you still use the painters tape????
I just posted a video using a tumbler press a few days ago! I didn’t use the painters tape
Hi, Great video! So you are using the masking tape instead of shrink wrap? I bought all the stuff to sublimate the same tumblers you have and will be doing my first project tomorrow. I bought shrink wrap as that’s what was suggested by a friend. I’m going to try doing one using the shrink wrap and one with masking tape to see if there’s a difference. I have the same skinny painters tape you do, so if it works well, I’ll definitely get some wider stuff.
Hi Sara! Yes I use the tape instead of the shrink wrap. Just a personal preference 💜
Great videos!! I’ve just started sublimation and having trouble with black turning brown. Am I cooking it too long or too high of a temperature ? If you could give any input would be great. Thanks
I would say a little of both! Everyone’s ovens are different. Play around with the settings and you’ll find the sweet spot!
I'm just waiting on ink to come and I will try it..😊
You make that look so easy and I might use my birthday savings on this in July. Question can you epoxy this if you want to and I got 2 sub cups as a gift, can I use them as regular tumblers for now? Also can you make the ink darker?
Thank you !! You can epoxy over these but it’s not needed. And you can edit your photo before you print it out so you can make the colors darker like that😊
@@CourtneysCustoms but can I use the sublimation tumblers that I was gifted as regular tumblers and either ink them or other things to them. They are new, just the plain white ones.
@@MsHunne62 yes you can !!😊
Does your convection oven have to be dedicated just for the cups? I have a toaster/oven with convection oven feature and was wondering about cooking food in it afterwards....doesn't seem too safe....also, is there an odor to this process like there is with epoxy? BTW, your cup turned out beautiful and I am excited for you :) Looking forward to all that you create :)
yes it has to be a dedicated oven. do not cook in an oven you have subbed in. there are no detectable odors
I would just keep an oven dedicated to sublimation. No odors that I can smell. And thank you so much 💜
Thank you for sharing. I don’t know if i missed it but did you coat this with anything after you sublimated it like epoxy or Mod podge?
No I did not
@Courtney . . . I'm getting some tape lines on my tumblers that are darker or solid dark at the seems, basically you can see an outline of some of where the tape was . . . do you have any suggestions for me to help prevent or possibly clean?
THANK YOU!
Hi!! What brand tape are you using?
Hi! I just found this video. My regular oven in the house is also a convection oven. Can I use that? Or does it leave fumes behind?
Definitely use a separate oven!!
Do you have a video on resizing your image for sublimation. I have the Epson eco 2720. I’ve tried Canva, design space, silhouette, and inkscape. I’ve wasted a ton of ink and have yet to get an image printed the right size for a 20 skinny.
Hi, great video. Can I use my regular oven to make tumblers?
No. You’ll need a separate oven. Sublimation ink releases a gas that you don’t want to mix with the oven you use for food
Thanks for your tutorial video. How do you call exactly The thing you use to cut exactly the paper to the size you want?
You can strip them, the process is a couple of days and you will need to repaint the tumblers. I'm stripping a bunch right now.
Wrap them in mechanics-style paper towels, soak with acetone, and stand in a bucket with a lid with an inch or two of acetone in the bucket--needless to say- safety gear is needed.
Awesome tutorial, I just have 1 question? Is there a special trick to getting my cricut to cut then print my image in the size you specified for these tumblers? I have everything to do it, I just cannot for the life of me get an image to print in that size! Thank you so much for your inspiration!
Hi!! Cricut Will only allow you to print so big which is why instead of using cricket I used the app I mentioned in this video instead💜
This is going to be a dumb question but can you use a heat press with the tumbler/mug attachment instead of putting this in the convection oven? My heat press comes with the Mug attachment but was too intimidated to try it. If so, do you need to wrap it around with blue painters tape?
I would say you can, yes! I’ve never used one from a heat press before though. I would still suggest the tape. If not, then at least some shrink wrap
Hello, I'm new to the process and just doing research before I buy my supplies. But I'm curious what the purpose of the heat tape is if you cover the entire cup in painters tape? Could we just use painter tape to tape the image on as well?
It’s just some extra protection to make sure the paper is on tight
Can I use painters tape for sublimation on tumbler for heat press machine
How long do you let it cool outside? It’s 29 degrees here in Indiana
So this is a wierd question am sure!!,but is that ready to sell or you coat it with any apoxy..can u tell am new at this😆
Won’t the blue tape melt? Since it didn’t melt, it worked well. Have you tried the shrink wrap for the tumblers?
Nope 😊
Are you setting it on bake or convection
Do you still put the painter's tape on if I have a press for tumblers
Just around the top and bottom rims
Question someone asked about the smell is it okay to have the oven in the kitchen? Sometimes if it has a lot of ink it lets out a lot of smoke and a nasty smell is it okay to inhale that?
I prefer not to do it in my house because yes it definitely stinks lol
? I have a brother lc203 can I do it like u did or do u knw! And if u don’t knw how can I ask!! Thank u so much for the tile been wanting to do this but didn’t knw where to start!!
I’m not sure I’m sorry!
Do you epoxy afterwards? Can you now do a clear coat with glitter or will that mess up the print?
You don’t have to epoxy sublimation tumblers. But, if you want to add something else it’s totally fine to put epoxy on it
let’s gooooooooooooooooooooo
Is the painters tape around the entire thing the same concept as I’ve seen others use like butcher paper and stuff like that? Or is that something for an entirely different step that they prefer?
People normally use butcher paper when they’re sublimating shirts. I use the painters tape to get the image to be really tight around the tumbler. If you don’t want to use painters tape you can you shrink wrap.
What software did you use to print the design. Cricut has the damn lines which effect the size of the image. Everyone recommends silhouette ...since it allows and doesn't interfere with the full image of your 8x11print..... But I've never used it.. any suggestions?
I print my images from my phone I use an app called Print to Size. It’ll let you print the entire size of the paper
What file do you use .jpeg .png .svg
does it have to be a full wrap or can you do just part of the cup?
You can do just part of the cup
The dreaded seam. Ahggggg!
If I have convectional oven/stove can I use it instead of buying a separate one?
I’ve been researching about sublimation and what I have found is you should get a dedicated convection oven for sublimation due to the toxic fumes it creates and you should not cook in it after using for sublimation
If I have the sublimation sleeve do I need to do painters tape I just got my printer an ink will b here tommor I have the sublimated tumblers but I only got 4 to start I am so scared I will mess it up thank u for the vedio
With the sleeve I only put painters tape on the top and bottom rims
What program are you using to size the image before printing ? I can’t seem to figure out that part.
Print to size
what are your printer settings? I can't get the image to print wide enough to wrap around the tumbler
The paper is set to premium matte and high quality. 8.05 tall and 9.20 wide have been perfect for my 20oz straights 😊
Have you tried doing your sublimation tumblers in an air fryer? I saw the other day in a group that a few ppl were using them to help alleviate all the turning. Thanks
No I’ve never tried that one!
Did you design it in the cricut design space or did u use another app.
I bought the image from Etsy and uploaded it to an app called print to size
what did you use to remove the sticy stuff left behind?
Rubbing alcohol
