Oh my gosh. What a thrill to come here and find Michelle in the comments section! 🎉
I've always thought Delaney and Bonnie deserved greater appreciation and commercial success. Oozing with talent, fabulous sound, and paired with a who's who of rockstars. Discovered them in the early 70s (am 64), and still listen today.
Thanks to your parents, Michelle, for creating music that outlived them, and that helped define a generation. ❤

I saw Delaney and Bonnie at the old Electric Factory in Philly when they toured supporting the Delaney and Bonnie and Friends on Tour with Eric Clapton album. George Harrison and Billy Preston were not on the show I attended but everyone else on this video was. They were all incredible as individual performers and even better as a band. I still get chills when I listen to that album and I especially get them watching this vid. Easily one of the best shows I've ever seen, anywhere!.

The USA bringing some sweet southern gospel soul rock to English shores ’ and beyond 🦋
An absolute honour to witness three concerts in December 1969. Back stage passes included c/o Robert Stigwood
& Polydor - Atlantic UK for Croydon & Bristol .
    Maybe the best ‘live’ shows I’ve ever witnessed . Pretty sure Billy Preston was not at the Albert Hall or Fairfield Hall , Croydon ;
but Rita Coolidge was (🌟) and I think Dave Mason ?
And contrary to supposed history , at that London Royal Albert Hall Show with all ‘The Beatles watching’
🙏💙 George Harrison did play for a while during the second half of the show ! I gotta run that by Mr Bobby Whitlock some time ...me and my buddy Adrian were front row level directly in front of Eric Clapton.
EC wore a black velvet suit. Played a black Gibson Les Paul Custom with gold pick ups n all ( might be the first time we’d ever seen one here in England ) George played ‘stage left’ mostly hidden by the stage curtains , and behind Clapton , but at one point he was lit up by the ‘lights’ and some of the crowd just ...oohed and wowed ! He looked pretty much the same as in this ‘Comin’ Home ‘ video but not sure what Fender he was playing , somethings telling me a black Fender Stratocaster but I may be wrong on that .
An amazing band , sensational ‘vibe’ ; phenomenal vocals . With what would later become ‘The Dominos’ ( Carl & Jim , Bobby W , EC
plus at the first ever ‘ Derek & ‘The Dominos’ gig .. London Lyceum The Strand , June 1969 Dave Mason also played lead & rhythm guitar ) .
Bobby Whitlock just ‘killing it ‘ on a Hammond B2 ? I think , astonishing talent and passion .
I guess I will never see the likes of that level of talent playing as a ‘band ‘ ever again . 💙🙏❤️🎶 apologies for being vague on some points but it was a few years back now 🙏🎵

@@billyboy1093 we’re not talking about the same thing…I’ve been playing guitar for 45 years… it’s NOT something “a 3 year old can play”! A much better version of this lick was played by Gary Moore during the guitar solo on The Traveling Wilburys’ “She’s My Baby”. You seemed to be describing a standard pick scrape, which is easy to do, but takes practice to perfect

That is a very short description of what happened according to Bobby Whitlock , and Delaney was very difficult to get along with , also Eric and Bobby Whitlock did not much help writing songs for Derek and the Dominos , this is great ,Derek and the Dominos is better...

@@nednewh8913 Yes so I have heard , and as I was alluding to the Dominos, Whitlock , Gordon , Radle , and Clapton had already meshed on Harrisons All Things Must pass album , they were already writing songs .Eric and Bobby both said no Delaney for their album , and as it turned out , or really anybody else , Duane was great on the jams , and was a spur of the moment decision , and added to the mix wonderfully Bobby Whitlock says those sessions , some of those songs were in one take , and they jammed the rest of the time

Actually it's You Tube that does that. It's something about the how if you don't make this a part of a rotating playlist then it counts as a strike against it or something like that. It's not actual viewers thumbing it down.

Great song. I bought the single when it was released in about 1971. Pity that the sound balance is set so that it’s almost impossible to hear Eric’s guitar.

George gave the Rosewood Tele to Delaney. When it came up for auction many decades later, the Harrison Estate paid close to half a million dollars to get it back.

Matteo leapt over the heads of giants and proved to those that thought there was no way to improve on the godlike playing of the Dimeolas, Holdsworths, Methenys, Atkins, Carltons, Lukathers, Ritenours, and Montgomerys of the world, that there is a way, and its name is Matteo Mancuso. At 25 or so yrs of age his need to carry his message and spread his gospel is like Metheny’s indefatigable nonstop worldwide touring and teaching. Let’s hope he keeps it up for 50 plus years like Metheny, then we will really have something!
