  • Well everyone here it goes, after my first week of ownership on my new 2022 Ford Super Duty F350 we have the first warranty claim after only 200 miles. The truck has been great so far lots of power and looks amazing but unfortunately the drivers side massage seat has stopped working almost entirely and that was one of my favorite things on the truck, but no big deal we will take it in to the dealer but in this video I go over a couple things I have noticed in the first week of ownership that you may want to know when in the market for this vehicle, enjoy....

I just got my 2022 F350 I ordered in January last month “July “. Well I made it to 650 miles and had to make an appointment to take my truck in. My AC stopped working. We are going on day 7 of being in the shop right now and they are changing out the compressor. It’s the last thing that they have left in that system.

Hey Steve, I had the exact same issue with my passenger seat in my 2017 F350 DRW...after 2 trips to the dealer to correct the issue, they finally fixed it by replacing the module. I love this option. 👍🏻

I’m not gonna lie, at first when I clicked this video I was thinking “turbo went out” or “engine issues” but when he said the MASSAGE SEATS I was like bruhhhhh.. that’s not something worth mentioning.. but then I thought. For 90k on a Platinum.. EVERYTHING should work. I’m looking forward to buying a dually in the future. King Ranch.. I dont care much for the massage seats but those trucks aren’t cheap. So I feel bad for this dude that it’s not working properly. At this point. Get a whole new chair

sometimes new cars/truck have glitches in the system. I worked at Honda and we would have these glitches for new vehicles all the time, if you want try doing a battery reset. disconnect both terminals from the battery, then have both terminals touching for 30 min or so, it will reset the computers.

I have a brand new 2022 F-450, my first Ford truck. I’ve had Explorers and an Expedition, but my trucks have always been Ram. This will be my last Ford. $100k truck is a POS. Only a few weeks into ownership and I’ve had it go into limp mode (reduced engine power), the power tailgate stop working, spray in bed liner peeling up, remote start stop working, the driver side power folding mirror slow down to barely moving, and the navigation freeze up multiple times. Not to mention the steering wheel 20+ degrees to the left and mismatched trim pieces when it was delivered. Then when trying to take it to Ford dealers when I have these issues they are booking appointments over a month out. I had to pay out of pocket to ship my truck 1500 miles away to a dealer to get it worked on. Horrible build quality, no quality control, unreliable, and terrible dealer service departments for a 1,000+ mile radius around me has guaranteed I will never purchase a Ford product of any kind again.

With the chip shortage and these trucks sitting on lots for MONTHS waiting on chips I suspect these kinds of stories will be common of all manufacturers.
I work for one of the largest private OTT carriers in the US and we will often have hundreds of brand new truck purchased and waiting months in a lots to be in-serviced and the teething issues these trucks experience after sitting for 4-6 months is shocking. Volvo, International, Freightliner, Pete, KW…the name on the grill doesn’t matter new vehicles do like sitting for months on end.

Thank you for bringing up these issues. I have the 2020 F350 CrewCab Dually Platinum. The first year of this new computer/software and my issue is when you are in the adaptive cruise mode do not try to override the cruise control with the accelerator because the throttle will go to a hundred percent and there is nothing you can do to turn it off except to shut the truck down and coast off the road. When you try to restart the throttle will still be in the hundred percent position. In order to correct this remove the bottom of the forward cupholder, drop the key pod in the slot with the buttons facing forward and that will reboot the computer and the truck will be back to factory settings and the truck will restart at an idle. Took the truck to Ford and they told me that their software would not take, not sure what that means but they said the truck should be fine if I do not use the adaptive cruise option. Hopefully the software will be available to correct these issues. Thanks again for your video.

So your truck goes full throttle when you try to override the cruise control ? I'm gonna call bullshit!! Let me explain, this day and age you would he at the dealer in a heart beat. 3 attempts to correct Ford would buy it back. Right now you've got a massive lawsuit waiting, quite possibly against you for continuing to drive it with such a problem. Video link on your channel of the problem, prove it please because this doesn't happen. It's fly by wire not cable anymore.

I’ve driven dodge, Ford , Chevy trucks for work trucks after 10 or 12 years of use the dollar up keep made them no longer desirable.Until I bought a 99 F 350 Super Duty with a V10 5 speed manual.180,000 miles before clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing was replaced, It cruises at 55 mph at 2,000 rpm loaded at 12,000 pounds still gets 11 mpg in town. I put a reconditioned engine in after 260, 000 miles and that was only because of oil leaking on customers driveway .Nothing has been touched in the transmission or rear end . I literally unplugged all of the modules underneath the drivers seat and blew compressed air in the connectors. Plugged everything back in and 19k later not a single issue. My guess it was probably not plugged in all of the way on one of the connectors during manufacturing. Was this the same fix for you?

I have a few Ram trucks and one is a Ram 2500 diesel upgraded the suspension to make it a 3500 and went all Gale Banks on the truck. But pick up a factory rims the newer Rams and had the problem with the tires sitting under the truck. But purchased a really good set of wheel spacers just so the tires even with the fender flares. Looks way better but also make sure to run top of the line tires not too aggressive because mostly on the street but between the weight of the truck and the diesel motor people don't realize just how heavy the truck becomes. Good luck really nice looking.

I like all the upper tier trims, but I went with a King Ranch because I prefer the two tone paint and the KR interior stitching. Dealer said that the factory ordered spray-in bedliner might cause a delay, but I am OK with waiting a bit longer if I must. I have been debating this purchase for over 3 years, so a few weeks longer wait is nothing. Plus additional time to save up money to pay for it! Good gracious.

Super nice truck. Sorry your having issues. It just drives me nuts
Have driven about 1.54 million miles in pickup trucks. I grew up out west on a cattle and sheep ranch, it was 74 miles to town and 138 miles to a large town. I drove 150+ miles every day through Jr High and High School.
Ive owned mostly Fords, Chevys and Jeeps. Occasionally my wife would buy an Acura or Toyota. So… I can’t speak to other brands
I’ve loved my Ford trucks and GM trucks. If you ask me which have been the most reliable for my way of driving, hauling etc. I have to say flat out my GM trucks and SUV’s. But if you ask me which I preferred driving….. we’ll that’s varied from model year to model year.
The most reliable vehicle we have ever owned was a 2001 Chevy Tahoe that blew a transmission, water pump and timing belt at about 2000 miles. Something about one of those somehow damaging all the other.
Anyway the Chevy dealer replace all the parts and we the. Proceeded to drive it another 265,000 trouble free. We then sold that to a good friend who just sold it at 425,000 miles after replacing the engine.
The longest I’ve run a Ford without losing a motor is an 05 F-150 King Ranch. I drove it to 260,000 and threw the second timing belt.
I’ve had friend who have driven them into the 400,000+ miles.
These trucks are very very complex. I’m amazed there aren’t even more issues. The first truck I drove was a 1940’s (post war) truck that had a flat head V-8. It was hot, loud and in the winter freaking cold. I drove others from the 1950’s and 60’s. I think trucks improved at a fairly slow pace until the mid 1990’s. But the creature comforts, power, and technology really took off in the 2000’s. I had a 1995 Chevy Silverado that I drove 275,000 and sold. Then purchased a 2005 F-150 King Ranch…. Big big improvement. Then bought a 2014 F-150 Platinum with 3.5 eco boost, again a huge huge improvement over the 2005. Just drove a new Ram Longhorn, and again…… wow what a huge improvement. The point is, all of the trucks from every manufacturer are just fantastic.
So we all win regardless of brand. These trucks are just fantastic.

Can you plow with the new truck. Because my friend he brought his truck into RAM for some issues and they had no problem fixing it. He ended up blowing the rear end and seeing the snow plow hook Ram immediately voided his warranty and did not fix the rear end but was never a problem prior. Also my neighbor is now retired except from snow plowing and went to Ford because they had a promo with one of their trucks and it was called the snow Commander and inside the dealership was a picture of the truck with a snow plow hook up with the name snow Commander and they told him if you hook up a plow it will void the warranty on the truck even the truck is called snow Commander. I would look into that first because I was looking into this with the Ram 2500 Power Wagon and with the winch you're not able to hook up a snow plow unless you remove the winch. Even the salesman said adding snow plows to trucks will void warranty on almost all trucks. 🇺🇸🙏

All three makes have about the same pulling power and feel. However, of all three makes, Ford has the most problems and likely higher maintenance costs. For those who like the design, looks and comfort of the Ford, will have to bare the facts that the Ford will depreciate faster and cost more to maintain in the long run. The Dodge/Cummins is by far the one to choose for raw pulling and less engine maintenance however, Dodge is Dodge and full of electronics/electric problems while the Duramax is probably the best choice of all when considering cost, maintenance and long term reliability.

Nice truck, I do like that color of interior. But doubt I'll buy another ford again. They have been horrible about warranty work and talking care of customers. Since the 6.0 and 6.4 days. Biggest issues with theses new Fords has been front end wobble, cp4 issues to name a few. Now thousands of 2020 and 2021 f250's and f350 single wheels have weak rear axles that are crushing under the spring seat. About 3500 miles on my 21 loaded up Lariat and ford says not even to drive it. And NO eta time on parts for the recall. Traded truck off for 21 ram 3500, much nice truck IMO, much better truck for towing heavy and I can actually drive the truck unlike the ford. Even after spending $80000 for a truck a Fords customer service still sucks.
