African Fufu Recipe (How to Make Fufu)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- Fufu is a staple food in many countries in West Africa, Central Africa, and Caribbean. Traditionally it can be made with starchy food like cassava, yams or plantains. This easy fufu recipe boils cassava and plantains first, and then blend them into a dough-like consistency. Finally, it’s shaped into small balls and served with soup, stew, or sauce. So satisfying and delicious!

A lot people focus in criticizes. The important is the taste and he or her efforts to share it.
Well to feel like you can tell people how to respond on a public platform is just as wrong as you’re saying those who are criticizing/critiquing the video. If it was such an issue, the person who uploaded the video can very well turn off the comments or remove the content. And who are you to tell people who grew up making this type of food are wrong for addressing the flaws in order to help them make it a little better each time? This willingness to give out trophies for participation is the main reason why people think that their errors are correct. Cut the bs out, learn from the critiques & do better to be better.
@@elsadecora7429 And who are you to critique me? You are like the rest. You focused more in the negative than the positive. He did well i don't care what u think.
Meat in Africa lol
It helps so much if we choose fo take caution in assuming that someone’s commentary is actually condemnation. Comment does Not = Condemnation
Ayyyoooo chill you don’t eat fufu with a fork from experience you eat it with your hands 🙌🏾
You have to slap it first
@@kingtrapicheo9594 yes slap thee fufu
I asked my mom if she can ask her friend if she can make fufu
I have started eating it with a fork from time to time because with 2 breastfeeding babies sometimes we have to eat at the same time and I like a little pepper in my food.
After u slap thee fufu U may eat!
Me: clicks video
Person: eats fufu with fork
Me: exits video 😂😂
That was so easy oh man now to hope my grocer has these two items.
lol I’ve never seen anyone eat fufu with a fork. Uh I think I’ll just wait to see my African friends to try to make this cause I’ve lost hope with that fork. You’ve got to be missing something 😂😂😂
Right 🤣
This!!! I was like ummm none of the fufu I've seen looks like this. 🤨
Lmao!! I was thinking the same thing!!
I said the same damn thin when I seen the fork I lost interest and need to see a hand that looks like my auntie
Watch African movies on UA-cam and you will see them eating fufu with meals. Looks delicious!
A peeler I'm thinking would be alot easier?
She may not be perfect to some people but I love the way her food looks. I think if blenders food processors make life easy why not? I don't normally see fu fu eaten with a fork. I would eat with one or without one. I love good food period.
She’s livin in the 21st century and I like it
@@uncoverthetruth8365Exactly it LOL
I like this it was simple and easy. Thank you 😊
Wow amazing recipe 👌👌👌 l really like this video. Thank you for sharing. Your work very well and you are very talented 🙏🙏🙏🙏 May God bless you and all time happy your life 😊😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
ITS A HELL NAW FOR ME...
Sarap naman my natutunan ako salamat sayo
Am I the only one who only eats fufu if it’s harder consistency? I hate when fufu has the consistency of mashed potatoes
I was trying to find out exactly what Fufu is and my impression is it is mashed root and fruit like potato, but this is only the first video I've seen. I suppose there are different textures and flavors to this food? I don't know plaintains, If they are sweet or bland, they resemble bananas and I cannot imagine banana mash that doesn't taste like baby food.
I am keeping an open mind though.
Lo guardan en plástico, pero se come en ese instante o ya frío también o se tiene que volver a calentar, ? De antemano gracias
Excellent!!!!!
Looks like they made the colonizer version of this traditional dish. It's a no for me.
🤣🤣🤣😭😭💀💀
Its called convenient..stop judging, u can pound it if u want ...nobody's stopping you.
Lol, I’ve never eaten this meal before but I was curious. I got confused during the first couple of seconds of the video 😅
Lmao!! Your comment was exactly what I was looking for. That is way too thin and you can tell they've never peeled the cassava before
You're not the one eating it, they are
Am gonna try this famous dish from Nigeria.....hoping I'll make it right
Aw :( the advert Allah bless him
Wow thank you! Never knew it could be done like this! Now I'm ready to give fufu a try☺️

I don't know where u learnt to make fufu but this is not african fufu
You don't know how to peel off casava.. 😭
My thoughts
Omg you answered my prayer I was terrified she waste the yuca by the way she peeled it.
Nahhhhh didn’t even remove the veins from the yuca
That's because it is cassava, not yucca
@@TheLyric7cassava is yucca is it not???
Can it be made with flour
As soon as I saw how they peeled the cassava, I knew the video was gonna be a mess.
U should have seen how they peeled a banana..
Sammmeeee
They massacred that poor cassava lmao
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@dishha4272 was that not a plaintain, not a banana?

Sir that doesn’t even look like fufu 😭🖐🏾
you dont cook it?
Interesting recipe 😋
Thanks!
Youre eating it with a fork???
Traditionally it's eaten with fingers. Here we've shaped them into smaller balls. You can definitely eat with hands if you like. 😋
As long as it makes it into their mouths 👄

Sincerely not wanting to bash or beat down this method, I’m simply suspecting that parts of it are unnecessary and not actually true to the West or Central African culture that I assume you are referencing. I am not an expert, but still highly suspecting my African friends would not be over liquifying this dish as shown, therefore would not need to wrap each ball of Fufu in plastic wrap to keep its form.
Instead, I see my friends keeping the added moisture down to an appropriate level, and working the “dough” so that it becomes firmer the more the starch is handled or kneaded. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this should be formed so it can take the shape of a ball in the palms of our hand, and then the dough indented in the center as it spreads a bit. This is so we can use it almost like a soft flat bread to scoop up our food. Like using as a utensil instead of flatware to eat. I’ve yet to see this eaten with such soft/moist texture that a fork is necessary(?).
I’m interested to hear others thoughts or experiences with this.
perhaps it is regional and also personal taste. I don't know about fufu, but as it resembles mashed potato, i can also imagine that how people enjoy mashed potato ranges from soft and forkable like this video to chunky with bits of skin, to thick paste that is almost dough like. It depends on the person and who taught them. Perhaps this person prefers this consistency.
Ok thank you whatching love African food seems like I can't get it where I am at hm so I guess will have to make some recipes myself
This is yuca right ? And I've never seen anyone eat it with a fork
The hands making this ain't dark enough for me... issa Nope!
😂😂😂
😭😭😭😭
Lmaooooo
Lol!!!
There are white people who live in Nigeria and South Africa in general lol 😂
I knew when you put salt and pepper it was wrong
Never had NIGERIAN OR AFRICAN FOOD... but I would love to sit and eat with them!!... I WANT FUFU GUYS😊... AND I LOVE TO EAT WITH MY HANDS!😁
Cool
I don’t think that’s a good way to cut the cassava *yuca*
What does fufu taste like? I've never had African food before.
Potatoes 🥔
Why are the plantains yellow? I’ve only ever seen green ones?
Um... No!!! Please leave alone! Damn can we have anything
God you people are so oppressed!!!! Help them please 😓😓😓😓
@@RepentGFX what people?
Like you don't copy other cultures.
@@amehka5416 Yeah yeah STFU! WJAT CULTURE SO YOU HAVE PATRICIA 😅😅
No just no!!! I bet she chews it too 🤦🏾♀️
Yea i like the more natural original version
That shit looked so good with that meat. Whatever it was. Now I'm hungry
you don't know how to cut manioc! and you don't know how to make that fufu! and you better stop doing that! fufu is very good to eat with hand
What’s wrong with you people??? You can’t forbid someone to make food the way they want and like! “You better stop doing that!” Or what? U gonna arrest her/him or what? Stop being arrogant to people that didn’t do nothing mean or bad to you. 🙄
They don't want to eat it with their hands .. in this day in age its not necessary to eat with hands if you don't want to .
I like to try foods from other cultures and ethnicity just have to be careful with no seafood and fish items as I am severely allergic
Platano is another name for banana??
It is a type of banana but not the same as the sweet yellow kind.
Alguien más que pueda decir que así nose pela una yuca... eso si es un insulto a mis abuelos.
abeg Is that pap or eba????
Es mentira porque hay q cocinarlo hasta obtener su consistencia.
Uh wow did they just use a fork
Is that the way everybody peels banana, bcz i donot.
Thats not a banana, if you watch the video again it says plantain, which is like a banana but with a tougher skin and not very sweet.. hence why its peeled that way
@@jewelskiez04 ok
Stop disrespecting the African culture, no fork
Eating with hand is being African?? Dude stop it please!!
I’m African and I eat it with hand, fork, spoon ... we need to stop being ignorant,
Vikings also ate with their hands until they discovered that this was dangerous to health ... being African is what you eat and not how you eat!!
Slooooowest food video ever for such a simple food. Editing... cut that time in half.
Looks like a banana to me
Eating fufu with a fork??? Nahhh
As soon as i seen u slice the plantain instead of just pulling down the husk i hated this video
That's not how you peel cassava 🤦
I thought everyone made fufu with maize pouder and stirred it hard and around in a pot?
That's ugali east African food
Dominican people call it mangqu
It looked like the recipe though... 😒 might not taste like it I just know it looked like it😒
do not use this recipe and do not use a fork this mostly wrong lmao its the white lady for mr
So what if people use fork to eat these? Oh god people are so pathetic.
that is not how u make fufu
Watching pealing of banana make me nervous...😮..
I'm sorry...this was in my recommendations and I honestly clicked with good intentions..👉👈 but um...the moment I saw gravy pouring, then the fork, and then the white hands, I was over it. Not watching the rest of this video but leaving my comment at the 0:17/4:04 mark.
Well the “gravy” was beef stew. I know fufu is most commonly served with soup but I’ve seen it served with stew as well. They probably just wanted to showcase the fufu. It does look too thin and not many people eat with fork but let’s try to be kind...
Is it supposed to taste sweet since there are bananas in it??
Those aren't bananas. They are plantains. They are startchy and not sweet unless they are very ripe, but they still taste nothing like bananas.
@@Savage-sf8wn ooooo thanks for the info!!!
Anyone else here from tik tok 💀💀
Ur eating it with a fork?
Ummmm.... no disrespect but fufu is ate with hands please and thanks
No formal rules for that... I’m African too and I can tell you that you can eat it with fork if you want!!
Wait why the fork?
Why not??
Ummmm no mam
.. whats with the over-reaction to a fork .. ?? Grow up ! You probably don't use a food processor either do you .. no you pound and mix it by hand .. but sooo what .. if youv ever tried another cultures food in your life you hav no room to complain about a fork or this vid .. how immature .. !! Now Igo make me chicken pot pie .. !!
Isn't that a banana
I think it is plaintain?
Whats wrong with this people who criticized how others eat 😅 and how to peel casavas, at least she/he dont eat casavas skin 🙄
Btw thank you for the video, keep up the good work 💕
If it must be done, it must be right. This is a traditional dish we talking about. From start to finish; it must be right.
You lost me with the fork...
Feel free to use your hands.
Uhh.....
Uhh.....
This looks like polenta 🙄.. this is definitely too lumpy. Nope 👎
Obviously this is a stolen content from who actually knows what FUFU.
This is not how you make Fufu. Please don't call it African
This looks like white man's fufu
Ill stick to the aftican ways
make.so.slow
if you arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
You are not african
First of all thats not how you peel cassava and secondly you just disrespected my culture by eating fufu with a fork.
Why?
I know you guys eat it by hands, but why would you he offended by a fork?
Well you disrespected my culture by not appreciating the fact at least the person tried .. and you prob don't make it in a food processor either do you .. no you pound and mix by hand but gosh no how dare she .. go away with your silly games immature girl .. she make it any way she wants to ..
hhahahahaha WTF is this
I am possibly the whitest shade of asian you will see and i am so sure this is wrong
Smh
I've heard it tastes good and I've heard it tastes like horse 🐴 shit.
This ain’t it...
Just saw her use a fork. I’m leaving
