Planning a wedding usually make women bridezillas…yeah they were bad, but I don’t know what it is about planning a wedding. It often times brings out the brat in a woman. Since they were little girls, they probably had this vision in their minds of how their wedding would be 😂

I feel that people should not go into debt at the beginning of their lives together. The money would be so much better spent on...I don't know, a house. Something that sets them off on a financial path.
But, that is just me. I don't think weddings over the top are just a show of wealth. Just showing that you are better than the 'Jones'.
I agree and if I get married we'll do something small and use our money towards our new life together..

100% agree we bought our first house 2 years ago and we have 2 children. Been together 13 years and only got engaged this year. We are planning out wedding for 2023 to give us enough time to pay for the things we need.

I am with the groom regarding air conditioning. I have been to many absolutely stunning outdoor weddings. I live on Cape Cod and there are fabulous outdoor venues everywhere. Every one of them tons of people complained of heat. Especially after dressing in suits, ties, dresses, heels, and makeup which would run down our faces.. even the brides'. More than once, an ambulance had to be called because a guest suffered from heat stroke 🥵 Especially when alcohol is available.
I hear ya! I have an AI and swell up in the summer heat. I hate outdoor summer weddings. My sister just got married in Cabo. Thankfully we were on the ocean so it wasn’t so bad, but I went barefoot a lot! LOL!
Went to an outside wedding in September 2015 in NY and it was 92°. My dress was stuck to me, and my legs were stuck to the chair. My makeup melted and my hair was a humid mess. Was still fun but it made me choose an indoor/outdoor venue for my own wedding.

I think the producers set up a lot of extra scenarios that they know will trigger the participants. I know there was one episode there the groom "stole" her dress but the bride was suddenly laughing while trying to get it back because it clicked it wasn't real. They also probably set up situations where they lure them to spend more money

I’m getting married this Saturday and my fiancé wanted me to plan it and have what I wanted he requested to do only three things towards it pick the date pick his color and location and of course I did and we are so excited to get married!! No fighting or going behind our backs to get something for it. Everything was a compromise and it worked out perfectly. And the biggest thing is we did it all way under the budget!!

We just pulled off a wedding at our church for about 200 dollars. Seriously. The guests gave their skills as a wedding gift. One guest made the dress, one dress made the bouquet and flowers, one guest did professional photography, one guest played the piano, the father in law played the flute while she walked down the aisle, other guests decorated the hall with craft supplies from their home businesses. Another guest baked a cake, the groom had skills to make the rings himself. They had it all. When people pull together and get involved, anything can be done without spending a fortune. People who go over the top on weddings are helping the economy of course, by providing jobs for the services, but not everyone needs to do that. It's perfectly fine to go with less.
I payed about 500 actually my mom payed. 400 for food at a tiny church. preacher was 100 bucks. and 30 people.
That's about how much my wedding cost--$500

My wedding cost $50, for the preacher. Attendees for ceremony consisted of the preacher, his family, an elderly couple from the church, and my daughter who held 3 carnations.
Marriage was done 2 years later. Legally we are still married, but I haven't seen him in 40 years. Last 40 years have been great.

Lol got married in '91(Justice of the Peace my 3yr old son and a courthouse witness), he showed his true colors the very next day, arguments started, separations started. 8yrs later total sr pop station never to look back!!! He filed for divorce 2018 or 2019, final divorce papers gotten in February 2021!!! Hallelujah praise the Lord thank You Jesus!!!!!!!
