Sounds like a win-win for all involved. I’m glad you made peace with your stubborn side. I have one of those.
Looking forward to streams! Detroit? Perhaps?

Now that I’m not running out the door I can finish my comment.
Love the voice visualizer in the bottom left. It’s especially striking on the darker backgrounds. And flying in the storm was terrifyingly gorgeous. That might be the most impressive one I’ve seen you fly.
Are there any series that you are extra excited to start? I know there are several you want to bring back. Any new ones you’re toying with? (Of course you know you don’t have to answer that. Just curious.)

We are behind you 100%, my liege! NGL, I'll miss the daily TLD...but the stability and ease of your life is far more important than continuous daily content.

Balance is not a 'One and Done' kind of thing, it requires constant adjustments. Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on things. And remember, If Genghis Khan, so Khan you. All the best to you and yours my friend.

The way some of those clouds are rendered is pretty awesome.
Also, that stadium effect! (sort of)

As someone woefully behind on the 2 series I'm watching... Every other day would be helpful! ;-)

For what it's worth unless youtube delivers me a perfect recommendation right away I watch your long dark videos whenever I'm eating breakfast and lunch which ends up usually being just under one episode per day, so whenever there has been daily content I've basically caught up to it whenever there were hiatuses or if I fell too far behind I may skip a series entirely. I think the small minority of people who are able to watch 30+ minutes of content from one creator daily probably would be extremely understanding about why that as an absolute standard isn't always reasonable and may hinder the channel at times. I imagine they would see it as a bonus to have daily content, but that their appreciation for your work and enjoyment of it wouldn't be lessened in any way if that wasn't the case.

Personally, I would rather get used to seeing TLD content every other day on a consistent basis than the sudden gaps in content that have occurred in the recent past - mainly as many of us in the community worry about what life-crises have caused you to be unable to maintain your stubborn devotion to daily content. Getting the right work/life balance is vital for wellbeing, and it sounds like you have realised something had to happen for you to achieve this balance.
Look forward to seeing you get back to working out just how you can get Jennifer to that elusive observatory, and progress the Tale…. 😊

So comments worded like this one are a little bit challenging to engage, but I'm going to try. First, I appreciate the empathy and the candor, neil. That you would rather get used to something that I can consistently do, but that you might not prefer, means a lot to me, so thank you so much for saying that. I also really do appreciate the directness of this post, even though I'm going to kind of push back against it in a second. I think your heart is in the right place, so I really do appreciate the acknowledgment that I might be struggling in some sense. But ... let me speak to that, if I may.
I cannot stress enough: I'm not exaggerating when I say "things are good and getting better every day, but maintaining the schedule has been hard." This is the sentiment I have maintained every time I've had to take a break this year, and I will continue to maintain it, because it's the truth. One thing that I said in this Look Ahead that is incredibly important to track is "This was always going to be a tight year."
Please (🙏) don't overlook the significance of that particular reflection in favor of other judgments outside the bounds of what I am sharing with y'all here.
I realize that I can't control rumor and that people, especially people who don't consider themselves part of the Legion, are going to think what they want. But you can take it to the bank when I tell you that I have maintained a complete daily schedule with multiple series while my life has been in genuine crisis in the past. I did it for years. It's part of what led to the channel going away from 2020-2023. So when I pause content now, trust me: It's not because I'm struggling, but because I've learned the value of stepping back when I need to step back.
Importantly, what makes this Look Ahead a big deal is that I've recognized something about my recording cadence that, if changed, could facilitate a greater sense of balance and yield a net increase in channel output & content variety, while reducing (not eliminating) the potential for me to get off-balance and need to step back.
I know that you and anyone else reading are going to draw your own conclusions ultimately, but it's a misjudgment to infer that a lull in content indicates a life crisis.
My life has changed more dramatically, and for the better, in the last 12 months than it has in the last 10 years. That's a fact. That doesn't mean my life is easy. It does, however, mean my life is better then at any point while y'all have known me. ANY point.
A lull in content indicates that I am pausing to find balance and make adjustments. That's really all there is to it.

@@HadrianLP I’m sorry if my post seemed a bit too direct. I reworded it several times, but ended up closer to the original as other versions sounded confused - I am a 100% subscriber to the need to be careful not only what, but HOW, you say things in posts, and found the section on Civility on your Dischord ( which I clumsily attempted to join recently) struck a chord with me and wish the likes of Facebook took such a line on posted content.
My worries on your behalf are probably more of a reflection of my “glass half empty” view on life, and I am happy to hear that this recent break in channel content was for all the right reasons, and not because you had lost your internet connection along with the roof over your head in the recent hurricane, or for other “bad” reasons. That your life is challenging for the right reasons now is great news 😊
I guess people here only worry because we care ❤
